Dear Bizi i suspect some of that gain is water weight - possible the foods you had in your "time-out" from dieting were more flavored/salty? You will be fine. Good job on getting back to gym. *pat on back.

Dear Mari just thought i'd mention the two kinds of apples you mentioned are my favs too - Granny Smith and Red Delicious... we don't get them here. :( i like snappy apples that go CRUNCH when you bite into them. (but they also have to be juicy, and a little tart too.) I think i did buy Rome apples for a while and they were fine.

Dear Donna my biggest problem with fruit is also the cutting up part. not because i cut myself but it is just too much hassle and i don't do it. i have bought pre-cuts before. Also i was big on the pre-cut pre-washed salad mixes when i lived alone and could control this. same reason - i would eat a lot more salad (as opposed to it rotting in my fridge ).

and i agree that the whole worrying about foods is just too much. i am inconsistent too. like they warn about mercury in canned tuna, but hey, i go through phases where i live off canned tuna.

I'm pleased with myself.

I had a half a subway ham and cheese with some veggies on it for
lunch. Then I thought I was taking the other half minus cheese home
for Derrick. When we were at the Convenience store he chose to
buy a cheeseburger.

So I ate the other half myself. I am doing good today. Took the
dog that wants to hurry for a walk. Need to figure out how to get
to walking faster.

And I haven't figured all the apples out. And green grapes are the
only ones I like. I have never figured out why.

yummmmmmmmmmmm

that sounds fantabulous Beth... sounds chinese... i am really miss having oriental cuisine! (love Chinese, Vietnamese, Korean, Japanese, Thai...:o)

yesterday i ate chicken breast with a little olive oil, eggplant chunks, and simmered pepper slivers last night for dinner. oh and a wasa cracker with chopped parsley as an appetizer. (i didn't eat the rest of the day at all - no sleep - low appetite.)

i had a couple more slices of the chicken about 5 am (woke up at 2) with a couple olives.

i think i am going to make some oatmeal now. with raisins and cinnamon (and sugar).

Apples

HI

This afternoon I bought two new types of apples so
hubby and I could have a taste testing:

Jazz-- tart and crunchy. It really is pink instead of red!

and

Pink Lady -- much tarter and very crunchier. The flesh was almost dense. We both liked this one more than the other. He told me to buy them again if I see them. This was a good way to get myself to eat an apple today. :)
