we got some exercise today.
Jeff and i went with a group of people to a cypress tree area and went canoeing!
It was spontaneous and I loved it.
They served a delicious meal.
what fun!!!!

yes

canoeing does sound like fun! i did it when i was in college as there were lakes at the campus. so peaceful sitting in there at the middle of the lake, or winding through connecting areas to another lake.... looking at plants and birds... ahhhhh.

good exercise too, if you did some rowing! :)

row, row, row yer boat ... life is but a dream.

I am very sore today from all of that canoeing yesterday.
going to a cook out so I made a big salad to bring:
mixed greens
carrots
celery
cucumbers
brocolli
yellow squash
tomatoes
fat free zesty italian dressing
so at least I will have a low calorie salad to eat there.
they said they were going to have a watermelon.
don't know what the main meal will be,
chicken I think, he grills it very very good tasting!
These are good friends of ours but there will be a family there that we don't know...from hong kong, a potential student of our friend the trumpet player...I am anxious about meeting new people so will try not to drink my way thru the gathering....as I have done so many times before.

sending you some antiholic vibes bizi. :p

your salad sounds good.

i had a really ugly incident at home and - well my first notion was go get a drink but you know i felt so uncomfortable already (i was derealizing and numb all over) that i was actually scared of alcohol making me feel worse. it got better after a while.

i wonder if you could ask yourself 'wouldn't alcohol make things worse' and see if that might not deter you. bring some 0.25 klonopin if you have anything like that and use one of those if needed. and remember you can keep hands just as busy drinking juice as a cocktail

thank you waves,
I should just try to stay on my diet...alcohol is not really on it except for a couple of my lower calorie beers....NOT the fattening margaritas that will be made today. So I should run to the store and pick some up as I am out and bring just 2. And their guests from hong kong may not drink at all.
Paul is a heavy drinker but will be on his best behavior as he is recruiting this student.

I am sorry that you had an incident at home....I hope you are some better with the passing of time.(((((HUGS))))

Dear Waves,
I'm sorry that there was some ugliness. I hope you are ok.

Dear Bizi,
The cook out is going to be low pressure. You will do fine.

I figured out that I can have a liter of gin and tonics for fewer calories than 2 beers, using the diet tonic water.
:)

waves 05-31-2010 02:48 PM

Dear Bizi

i hope you consider the alcohol content in that - for its own sake, not just the calories. that is a fair bit.

Dear Mari

no i am not really ok. pdoc and i are still playing phone tag here - i hope i can get hold of him tomorrow.
