Yea! No Surgery!!!

I guess I have a few things wrong with my knees and some kind of connection to my hips... treatment with knee braces and PT. No wonder why I have pain.

I got the braces today, they're bulky but not metal. They're supposed to realign my knee caps- So far, my balance and gait are more off, and I'm sore. I'll adjust, but I don't think I'll be very fashion-forward this winter

The doc is adding stuff for the PT to torture me with. One thing being some kind of med that they can deliver through electrodes. I'm probably not going to be able to stick to once a week, as hoped.

If only I can get more good news about the crotch rot next Thursday...
I'm very tired and sore. I'll be sleeping soon.

I am happy for your good news!!!! keeping fingers crossed about your other medical stuff.

Dear Kay,
Knowing that the mdoc can take care of you without surgery is wonderful. That the mdoc can explain the pain also is reassuring.
You have one more thing to adjust to now with the braces. I hope that they work for you.

I hope that the news Thursday next week is good.

I think maybe the electrodes thing, might be a relaxing thing. That
will hopefully add some comfort to the thing.

when I got the braces, they said it's better to wear them next to the skin. I guess if you wear them over your pants, they slide with the material....
I think I only have 1 pair of pants they'll fit under.

I have had the electrode therapy (ionophoresis?) before when I had tendonitis in my arm. It was relaxing!

I'm having the same old $$$ problems I have around the 1st of every month, but I guess it's worse this time because of all the med appts and copays.
I was left with 2 choices: pay the rent on time OR have $$$ to live on for 2 weeks. So, I'm not going to be able to pay the rent until the 10th. I hate that- it makes me feel like a scum bag.
My husband gets paid again on the 10th, and I get my check on the 15th this month.... I think I'm going to hide money in the savings for a little bit...

Next week's shaping up to be expensive:
Monday: urologist in Boston
Tues: PCP appointment
Weds: physical therapy
Thurs: pathology findings and uterus u/s at GYN
Friday: IV steroids, my husband's company Christmas party

Again this year, we're not giving out presents, except for my 3 yo nephew. This year, most of the family is in dire straights, and there will be no presents for adults all around.
Everyone's getting the same Christmas cards from us as last year! I have plenty left over... no waste, no more money. Again, I feel like a scum bag.

I like Thanksgiving- it hasn't been too commercialized- it's just about the food and the booze!

I wish I felt like a hero...

As I was catching up on my reading here, I got a call from the gynecologist's office... I did answer the phone, but I was freaking out because I thought they were calling to tell me something bad or to tell me they needed to cancel my appointment and make me wait x-more days to find out my pathology results!
They just called to move my appointment up 15minutes.
Relieved, but still really anxious. My throat is in my belly. It just started me thinking about Thursday.

I should absolutely NOT be driving myself to Boston anymore! I don't know if it's the fatigue alone or what, but I feel lucky I made it home this time.
I told my husband I can't go alone anymore and he said, "Well, you're always saying that. I can't get a day off to go with you every month. We're going to have to find you a different way of getting there."
Notes: I don't have to go every month anymore, he's gone with me ONCE this year, and by "we're going to have to find another way," he means I'm going to have to find another way.
UGH.
