You will be OK. ginnie

my primary doctor really wanted me to have one even before he knew i was constipated. I think nowadays most mds want them for prevention. it might be a fad.

Jeff got called for jury duty but he teaches which would be a hardship to replace so I think that he doesn't have to do jury duty. I got a letter from my pdoc some years ago so I got out of it somehow.

i didn't sleep all night worrying about jury duty and all the other stuff. I don't know whether or not to get another letter from Dr.M when i see him in almost four weeks or what. I wonder if they have the original copy. They also want a letterhead on the letter and he doesn't have one...I can't take stress and i get paranoid with stress. the thought of jury duty is so stressful. i might have my social worker write a letter. i was obsessing all night. then what happens if they find something with the colonoscopy. the woman who said she would pick me up isn't very sensitive. I guess it would be between me and God. I could call an agency that handpicks volunteers who i think goes to hospitals and picks you up. I think I might check on that. I wish i were brave. good for you for getting out of jury duty.

Hi Bobby, glad you talked with the doctor. The mag citrate bottle is10 oz, but you could take only half, 5oz. Also, you will need to take an 8oz glass of water/liquid with each dose. If that does not help, then try the other half the following day. In case this does work, you should stay close to a toilet. Also, you will still need to use the Phillips at least once a day. Should you decide to give this a try, it would probably be good to talk with the pharmacist as well.

I never did take a supository; but did take Miralax almost every day; but still got blocked up. Actually looked up fecal incontinence. Because of the blockage, wasn't closing all the way so whatever little the Miralax did, it kind of started coming thru without my knowledge at times. Had to use a liner for just in case purposes. Also kept liners in my purse at all times as well if needed to change. Would not be much; but still there would be something on the liner. It was when I was looking up the fecal incontinence that I came across the mag citrate and Phillips recommendation.

oh wow...what a nightmare. lately i haven't been hungry so i have been eating very little. yesterday i just had oatmeal, blueberries and romain lettuce. I don't know what is in there. today I will try some phillips.....I didn't buy the citrate yet in hopes that the miralax might work in a couple of days.
thank you so very much

The doctor has outlined some steps to take before you try the citrate of magnesium. That quantity of citrate of magnesium from the drug store is strong and likely much more powerful than you need.

For me, the pain has been in giving up control over my body. My body is in charge. I have to go a long with it. Every once in a while I mourn over a time when I believed that the I had some say so with my body.

yes you could start with a half bottle of mag citrate and see if it works then the other half the bottle. when they use that for a colon prep they use 2 full bottles, like before surgery or maybe even before a colonoscopy instead of drinking that gallon of fluid like they used to. I have often heard that we should have a colonoscopy when we turn 50, have you ever had one before?
I am guessing that you have not. So it is good to get that out of the way.
Have you ever had a hemicult test done on your stool checking for hidden blood. I just found out that they should be doing this simple test at every physical...mine doesn't and I will ask her to do it next pap.
hugs to you.
I know how frustrated you are...I have been there before, it is not pleasant and very worrysome.
Even with taking a laxative I still had a hard stool that would not pass the other night, I was not drinking enough water.
hugs to you my dear

it worked. I also called dorotusa.org and asked if they had volunteers to take one and pick one up to hospitals and they said yes but they needed a week's notice. I gave them all the information except the time and exact locatiion.
i feel so relieved but so hyper. i can't fall asleep yet and catch up on the sleep

Bobby

It also sounds like part of your problem is the anxiety you feel.
I also wonder are you talking a stool softner. It might help too.

I am hoping things start to help. And you can get over some of
your anxiety, so things will start to flow for you.

i am taking a stool softener. today i was hyperventilating. too much pressure. then i found out the drug program i signed up for isn't that great. it doesn't cover topamax or risperdal. ugh. the other doctor hasn't called and i wasn't able to sleep to catch up on the sleep i missed last night. i am a wreck but hoping that my problem is clearing up now with miralax.

I am sorry about your drug program, can you still switch? is there a window of opportunity?
I am hoping that your anxiety will decrease.
wishing you some sleep tonight.
