thanks so much for the hugs. i needed them. i am sorry about the sinus. I am trying claritin but right now after a couple of days of relief i feel i might be getting a sore throat again. I realized i would feel a lot better if i could become proactive and take care of health issues. I am still postponing getting dentures for fear i will have trouble wearing them and the icky thought of no longer having any teeth.

To Donna: migraine ==> sinus mess

Dear Donna

it's the season for sinus problems and rhinitis of course, but if you are having lots of migraines that can mess them up good, too. a migraine can cause any of: head stuffiness, facial (sinus) pain, runny nose, post-nasal drip... the works, on the same side as the migraine. you've mentioned yours are out of control lately. if they are frequent on either side, you can end up with bad case of sinus all around. if you find the sinus meds don't help as much as you expect, you might have a migraine or a near-migraine, even if you don't have the full blown headache or other sx. :( in these cases i find an nsaid (in the dosage i use for a moderate migraine) will actually clear up the sinus. just passing on my experience. hope you feel better. ;)

Dear Bobby

i am glad the Miralax is doing its job. now to work on that sore throat! claritin is an antihistamine. it isn't really appropriate except for allergic rhinitis/hay fever. a sore throat suggests some sort of infection (unknown whether viral or bacterial). since it is coming around for seconds, i feel compelled once again to encourage you let your doctor check you out in case he wants to give antibiotics at this point, or at least do a culture.

i am sorry about your fellow luncheoner... i do hope she heals quickly and that she didn't fracture her nose.

about coffee... yeah, i thought it was dehydrating/diuretic too... but (i don't think i saved the link) i read a couple of articles that suggest that it is only about as diuretic as plain water. that said, i do encourage you to drink a good amount of plain water during the day, not just coffee, because of all the other good stuff we put in coffee that our body must process. ;) water is cleansing.:D coffee is... not.

love and (((hugs))) to you

Thanks Waves.

And yes, I have found when I have sinus messes, my migraines are out
of wack too, especially right before usually.

Its odd this time, the sinus, are clearing the migraines to a degree.
I am taking half a dose of the recommended sinus. Mainly because
it can and has before made me drowsy. So I just watch, and if after
a while I start needing the full dosage I'll then take it.

I was to have a workshop tonight, thank goodness, it was cancelled
because of a little so far snow. Its to get bad tonight. So I was wanting
to cancel myself. But I don't do that.

We are going to get to re-schedule though, so that is even better. Half
the time, when its cancelled, its not re-scheduled, and this was the snow-rain date.:grouphug:

dear bobby, I agree with waves, I don't think that coffee is a diuretic but agree that we should all try to drink more water.
I hope you had a good day today.

Hi, Bobby,

I don't know much about coffee because I don't drink it or think about it much but wikipedia has footnoted evidence saying it is not dehydrating.
Do you drink water? I do not drink enough I believe although I do make efforts to drink more.
I am sorry about your friend who banged her nose.

thanks Mari
i looked up whether coffee was dehydrating and it said in large amounts. i am still not drinking enough water. i don't have a pitcher to leave in the refrigerator which might help. thanks about my friend Alice. she is amazing.

i was surprised when i read it wasn't a diuretic unless in large amounts. i don't think i drink that much coffee. i read interestingly it was good as a tool against constipation lol.
i took the claritin because my nose started running again. i hate going to doctors and try to avoid them at all costs. my doctor is also a pain to get to and i need to take a cab to get there. i am also suffering from dry mouth which has been common since i have been on all these medications.
oh to drink more water....good point about cleansing..
love
bobby
