BJ,

I am so sorry to hear this. I know this is very hard for you. You do not deserve this.

Hi, BJ,

The Pharmacist will let you have some lithium -- a few days worth at least.
And lithium is as cheap and as old as dirt. It's not a big deal to pay for it.

When I went off lithium I was the highest I have ever been. But it was an ugly high, totally mixed with anxiety. I was wild. And not happy.

Try to keep the lithium going. Waves gives good advice about this stuff.

BP,

I just realized i had missed all the posts about your insurance and meds. There should be a number somewhere on these boards to call when one does not have free meds. I've seen it somewhere a long time ago but can't recall now where. Sometimes when calling the drug company will help and they will send you free or give you number to call where you can get free meds.

Default BJ,

I wanted to add to what Befuddled said. Now that you aren't working, call your Pharmacist and ask for the tollfree nos. of the Drug companies that make the drugs you are on. Then call the tollfree nos. and ask for the form to be sent to you to get your meds free. It is a one page form and the Dr. fills out the bottom half and you fill out the top half and the Dr. can fax it to the company or you can mail it.

The meds are sent either to your Dr. and sometimes they will send them to your home. Bill was getting several of his meds free before he passed away. He got a 6 months supply every 6 months for about 5 years from the companies. They never argue about it. They do go by your income but I am sure you will fall into that area now.

As a matter of fact, there is a federal law that if a patient can't afford their meds then the companies that make them have to furnish them. A lot of people don't know this.

Wink just remembered

BJ,

DreamBeliever just reminded me of something... your ins card should have the ins co number on it... probably toll-free, maybe not. you mentioned about new cards needing to come... it might be worth calling your insurance and seeing if you actually do still have coverage, but the card is no good. if that is the case, the pharmacy might be able to call and one of the two ends put through the script manually, so then, you'd be all set. it does seem strange that your coverage would be terminated at this point.

that said, still get the lithium ASAP (i hope you already have), whether or not you can verify the above first, or if it turns out you're not covered.

and in any event, keep us posted. we are all concerned for you and want you to be OK. awaiting your news...

I got my Lithium a couple hours ago but haven't taken it yet. I still don't know what's going on with the insurance but my pdoc called the pharmacy and they gave me enough Lithium until tomorrow when I can sort things out. My stomach's doing back flips and I'm shaking all over. Ny mind is racing like crazy. I'm not sure what I'm going to do, how I will do it or even if I'll do anything legal. I'm tired of fighting to be treated the way they treated me since I've been back. I haven't even slept since Friday for worry about what I'll do. Now I'm thinking if I have to go out on interviews I don't think I can handle that right now. I'm freaking just thinking of it.

I went to church last night and since I didn't want to be alone I ended up staying and helped by putting the poinsettias on the altar and decorate the choir loft. It kept my mind busy and I didn't have to think. And I so enjoy being there.

Today at homily Father talked about St. Joseph. I never realized it but he's not mentioned in any Christmas carols and you won't find his picture on any Christmas cards. Father explained the St. Joseph was a hard worker but never got any recognition. He ended by saying that whenever you feel like things aren't going your way think of St. Joseph. He was turned down at many inns that night before he ended up in the stable. I feel like I've been turned down at the stable.

Heart BJ

((( BJ )))

I am so glad you got the lithium. I'm glad you spoke to your pdoc too. Will you hear from him again tomorrow?

I want you to restart the lithium right now if you have not yet. it should work fast - few doses, but if you start to feel real whizzy or strange in any way, call your pdoc again, or ER, ok? since you have skipped some already. i am concerned about the no sleep saturday night. that, and if you have BAD psychomotor agitation, flushing, with your racing thoughts. tonight, if you have a sleep aid take it, and try to sleep, or even just rest still if sleep doesn't come.

I'm sorry about that feeling turned down at the stable... there will be an inn further along, don't worry. It is interesting how St. Joseph is overlooked... but he wasn't overlooked in today's homily at your Church!

Tomorrow, worry about tomorrow regarding the med bureaucracy, now now. Interviews ... cross that bridge when you come to it, right now, pretend there is fog and your can't see that darn bridge yet, ok? Try to stay in the present. listen out for postive energy and ideas. Channel energy into things you enjoy. i like how you handled keeping busy with the poinsettias at church. I find manual things can help. Or reading. How bad are your thoughts racing - can you focus enough to read?

One last suggestion/request for you. Until you are feeling more slowed down. Check in at least 2ce a day... writing it will require you to think about how you are in a structured way. also we will be able to give you feedback if you start to sound like rocket engines firing up. just a thought.

it's 2 am here and i am medicated almost to narcosis already, so i will be out for about 6-7 hours now.

take care sweetie. hang in there. hold the reins.

First I love the ideas of waves.

Next I will make sure I am here to check in to make sure if you post that someone answers you. Just as waves is doing.

I really think that worrying about interviews is the last thing you need
to do right now.

Lets get you through the holidays right now. And then we can
worry about how to get you through the interviews.

We are here for you.
