Default Treatment for insomnia

I tried a new item. It's called Rescue Sleep (from people who make Rescue Remedy).

http://www.amazon.com/Rescue-Remedy-.../dp/B00126B4T2

It's pretty amazing. 2 sprays on the tongue and within 10 minutes I am feeling drowsy. I have had terrible insomnia for years so I was surprised this worked. The product states that it helps with a feeling of restlessness. I wonder if it would help people with spasticity??

Thanks Natalie,

I tried searching for the ingredients, but couldn't find anything on-line that gave that info.
Does it happen to have Valerian in it?

Valerian does help induce sleep for a lot of people, but some also find that it induces nightmares and/or vivid dreaming. Have you experienced anything like that with it?
Can you check the package to see if it does contain Valerian. I'm interested to know. Although I don't have trouble falling asleep, I know many who do and would like to recommend this to them, but would also like to know what it contains before I do.
Thanks.

With love, Erika

Bach's Flower Remedies do not contain herbs, just flower essences.

Hi Erika,

There is no Valerian as far as I can tell. It's homeopathic, using only flower essences. The only drawback so far is it doesn't necessarily last through the night for me. But the package states that if you wake up you can use it again -- all you do is spray your tongue!

For people who can't swallow pills this might be especially helpful.

Dr. Oz has a simple banan tea recipe but I am unable to supply the link.

All that has to be done is to boil a small pot of water. Cut off the ends of a raw banana, place it skin and all in the water and boil for ten minutes. Use a colander to strain the mixture and drink one hour before bed.

A friend of mine has tried it and had success three nights in a row.

Go to the Dr. Oz link for details.

Thanks Cynthia.

Doctors don't like to admit it and Big Pharma absolutely denies it, but
there are more natural remedies out there for our ills, than we know.
So let's not scoff at them, if they come recommended by a trusted
source and they won't kill us...., until we try them.

I agree, Sally. This is such an easy recipe and it makes a difference when I know someone who has tried it. I plan to make this tea after Thanskgiving.

Just a suggestion that if you are going to be boiling banana skins and drinking the tea from it, that you purchase organic bananas for that purpose.

There is a strong fungicide sprayed on regular bananas, as well as on and in the boxes that they come in (it says so right on the boxes).
The fungicide is really toxic to the liver, some animals and other plants. So much so that if you store organic potatoes in the box, they won't sprout.

With love, Erika

Sorry Sally, but in this case the nasties are chemicals that never lived...and should never be put on food. In the case of bananas, these chemicals are used heavily and persist in the peel as well as in the flesh of the fruit.

I think that boiling the whole fruit when it has been sprayed with this stuff is probably not a healthy thing to do. Organic bananas aren't that much more expensive, so why not go for those instead?
