Default Reflexology?

So has anyone tried reflexology? Did it seem to help at all? I made an appointment for a treatment on Friday. It costs $40.00 for a 45 minute session. I thought that seemed reasonable. I know I would charge more for touching the feet of strangers. They now have a licensed massage therapist at the local hospital who is doing these treatments.

I've never done it but it's worth a try. I've never liked massage....I'm just way to sensitive and it always hurts more than helps me. I can't even have the massage chair turned on when I'm getting a pedicure!

I hope it helps you. Let us know how you like it.

I have done reflexology. My feet are pretty numb yet sensitive.

I have had two sessions with different people.

The first was at a hotel, my sister-in-law treated me to a half hour session. I felt good afterward but that was about it.

The second was at a chiropractor's place that also does therapeutic massage. One of the women was a licensed reflexologist. She hurt my feet! And her technique was ugh.

I guess it depends on what you are looking to treat.

If it hurts, I plan on telling her to stop.

I had a nursing freind that was also a reflexologist so she did my sessions for free. I would call her up when I thought I was getting a sinus infection. After she did her thing my nose would drain like a faucet. She could even tell me how fatigued I was before I told her how I was doing. Now she did tell me that my gall bladder was inflamed and I had had it taken out several years earlier! So it's not an exact science. But it was just so therapuetoc to lay on her table, soft light and music, fountain in the background and her give me wonderful foot massages. She could work out kinks in my neck just by hitting the right spot on my foot.

Default Interesting!

Let us know how it goes for you. I haven't experienced it. But it makes sense... That would be great if it really works for you. Good Luck!

Believer here, I've only done it on spa days with friends, but I have a shoulder that gives me fits on a regular basis, the treatments have always given me a lot of relief.

Unfortunately, my spasticity is now at such a ridiculous level, it's downright dangerous for the therapists and I won't risk their safety to have it done.

I had a treatment today, and it was like a lovely foot massage. I am not sure if it has done anything for me, but it quite nice to have my feet massaged for 45 minutes. There were only a few spots that she pressed on that were a bit sore.

This is just a thought..but.. did you consider that she WAS picking up an inflammation where your gallbladder was? When you get CUT (i.e. surgery)..it leaves the nerve endings unable to communicate with the brain and other systems. SCAR therapy or reflexology may help.
So.. she may not have been off that much..
