Default Sorting out symptoms

Hello all!

I am trying to sort out various symptoms I seem to be having. Trying to decide what might be MG and what might be the fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, or menopause.

I know the MG is muscle fatigue but does it also include all-over, general fatigue?

For example: last week I was very busy preparing for my parent's 50th anniversary celebration. On Wed. I had the nerve conduction and the EMG tests (absolutely wore me out); On Thurs. and Fri. I went shopping with my sister for supplies for the party and then on Sat. I decorated and then had the open house and dinner for the party.

On this Sunday, I was so exhausted I pretty much slept off and on all day. Monday was kind of a repeat of Sunday. I am just now feeling a little more rested but still pretty much require a nap each afternoon.

Coming in from the car on Monday I was trying to carry some stuff in and dropped some in the driveway. Tried to pick it all up and just kept dropping it. Finally got inside with some of it and collapsed in a chair. My son helped get the rest of the stuff in the driveway because I just couldn't do it.

Is this MG fatigue or fibromyalgia?

Thanks for letting me ramble and ask so many questions.

Shannon

Shannon, You and I seem to be in the same boat. I too am trying to get things "figured out" I have seen more Dr.s in the past 8 months than I thought possible, told I have MG {I knew that} also fibromyalgia, low thyroid, and now working on seeing if I have ulcer or gallstones, also have Alpha-1 so many DX's but still no answers. I am almost ready to tell them all to take a flying leap..LOL I don't have the extreme fatigue but the weakness is MG, hate when I drop things and then have trouble picking them up fibro causes pain, that I know but I also notice others with MG have pain too. I wish I knew something to tell you but I feel dumber than a rock.

Thumbs down Blame it on the MG!

Hey hon! Sounds to me like you have general MG. All of the things you described happened to me......it DOES cause all over general fatigue - and how!

There were days when a gallon of milk - or even a tea cup were too much for me to handle - I just couldn't muster the strength to do anything! That was b/4 the pred though.....

Hang in there, hon!

Erin:

Thanks for the reply. All of this is so confusing especially when you combine several autoimmune diseases at once. Good grief, how does one ever sort everything out. It's like a giant puzzle that you work on everyday but will never be able to finish because you are missing pieces.

The all over general fatigue is debilitating. I feel so lazy and unproductive because of it. Having to parcel out strength and energy on a daily basis and remembering to conserve some for the unexpectant is almost more trouble then it is worth.

Thanks for being so upbeat in your replies. It really helps!

Joan:

Thank you for the reply. I appreciate you taking the time.

I've got fibro, chronic fatigue, graves disease, migraine disease, MG (?), and menopause on top of it all. What a mess!

The dr. appt.'s alone are enough to wear me out. Oh well, like I told someone not too long ago who asked me how I do it, "what is my choice, curl up and die?" I guess we will keep plugging away until we get the answers we need and in the meantime continue to support each other here.

Thank you again,
Shannon

Teeth Hi Shannon!

You are NOT being lazy! Your body is just giving you grief right now. It is NOT your fault! I read your other reply and everything you are going through is exhausting to READ, let alone LIVE!

It is so frustrating - they still don;t know what all is going on with me and why I keep crashing, but I REFUSE to let this illness get me down - b/c then it has WON!

The ONLY positives that have come from this are that I' have met people like you and am so much more appreciative of my life. That is it!

What other autoimmune problems are you having? How are YOU today? Are you feeling better?

Love,
Erin

Teeth

Erin:

i have fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, graves disease (all 3 autoimmune), possibly MG (still not DX'd), migraine disease, and then to round it all out I'm in menopause.

I gave up teaching this coming year in order to try and figure out what is going on with my body. Teaching, running a household, and monitoring my children's activities was just too much. I came home everyday and had to take a nap. My hubby (bless his heart) came home each day and made supper because I was too exhausted.

I just want to know what is going on so I can try and reclaim my life. I'm 48 and don't like feeling like an old woman.

Thanks for the encouraging words. I have read what is happening with you and appreciate the fact that even though you are having a rough time you still can encourage others. I think you must have the gift of encouragement.

Thanks,
Shannon

it's like a jigsaw puzzle you get all the edges finally but one! it's stuck to your elbow! then you sort things out by colorareas and you struggle along in the good light or bad evening light because you know you can do puzzle. you finally think you have it and then someone[ie dr] says no way that's missing 3 pieces!! so back again to scruntinizing until you cannot see anymore. but finally if we try over and over and sometimes over again ,we get the answer to our disease. then we have to leave it on the table for all to see[every dr who has another illness in his mind] we need to not let "it" beat us! whatever our "it" is! sorry for rambling but somedays i just have to!! love ya all
