I am slowly getting over a bout of pneumonia and went back to see my GP (I live in the UK) earlier this afternoon because I was wondering if the second antibiotic, Clarithromycin, might be causing this toothache. She just gave me an inhaler and said it was all viral in origin (flu) and gave me an inhaler to help my breathing. I am really struggling with this mouth pain and have a diagnosis from a dentst of TMJD.
I explained to my GP, who skin biopsied my legs last week, that the mouth pain is getting worse and so is the cold, wet tingling sensation in my legs and feet. She shrugged and said some kind of Raynauds and told me she has many patients this year with my symptoms apart from my jaw and teeth and the SFN. She didn't think the toothache/ jaw issues were drug related. I then went to the pharmacist to collect my inhaler and asked her about my symptoms in relation to the prescription drugs I take. She was baffled but said she thought the most likely thing causing this pain in my teeth and jaw is my small fiber neuropathy as there are so many nerves around the teeth. Is this likely?

She could be correct. I too have face, eye, ear, jaw and throat problems on the left side of my face (along with burning symptoms body wide). Nothing showed up in my MRI so I have not had any definitive answers. The left side of my face flares when my body flares and burns, so I'm thinking that it is small fiber neuropathy. Even my darn left eye burns. These things are just hard to diagnose. The onset of my symptoms was fairly acute. At the peak of my situation, I woke up one morning feeling paralyzed and was needles from behind my left eyeball, back of throat and all the way down the left side of my body. Scary stuff.

Nerve related issues scare me far, far more than joint pain does - but the medical profession seem to be in the opposite boat. I guess if the neuropathic symptoms were happening to them for no aparant reason they would wake up and be equally scared!

I believe that chronic sinus inflammation will refer to the teeth.
I get this now and then. I use a decongestant orally to shrink the congestion, and then guiafenesin to help move out the junk before it becomes infected. I also noticed a big improvement in my throbbing upper teeth, when I did the Candida cleanse with NOW Candida support. I used it for 3 weeks, then had a huge Herx GI event, and stopped. It really helped my dry mouth and night-time throbbing I was getting. The sphenoid sinus is in back of your nose, and not in the front like the others. When it clogs up your whole head can suffer.

I don't feel clogged up in my head as I have with previous colds and viruses - the pain is all in my teeth and the rest of me. I can breathe through my nose just fine and nose sores and bleeds have stopped for the past few weeks too. I've not come across any of the meds you have taken but I don't think it's oral thrush with me as I've had my mouth checked out by doctors and dentists quite recently and it's not on my tongue. However the nerve pain has come roaring back in my feet and ankles again over the past 12 hours - not hot and burning anymore - just pure pain. Feels terribly similar to what's going on in my teeth now. I get the skin biopsy stiches taken out of my calves tomorrow so hoping this may help and that the results may reveal something at last.

The Candida releases aldehydes into the blood stream -- this is the toxic byproducts of the yeast's metabolism. Aldehydes are the culprit-- not actual lesions in the mouth.
It is the aldehydes that cause the grief for the nerves too, in people who drink too much alcohol. I can breathe thru my nose just fine, but my head would clog up...when I laid down at night. Alot of pain and fullness at the back of my neck as well. PN due to aldehyde build up from metabolism toxins, is like a hangover 24/7
