Another country heard from...
I do have lots of questions, though. http://www.nature.com/nutd/journal/v...utd20158a.html Background: Diabetic neuropathy is a common and often debilitating condition for which available treatments are limited. Because a low-fat plant-based diet has been shown to improve glycemic control in individuals with type 2 diabetes, we hypothesized that such a diet would reduce painful symptoms of diabetic neuropathy. Conclusions: Improvements were seen in some clinical and pain measures. This pilot study suggests the potential value of a plant-based diet intervention, including weekly support classes, for treating painful diabetic neuropathy. |

You could also look at OPC's namely: grape seed extract and or pycnogenol. I'm headed into 20 yrs on these OPC's...for my total immune system. I've never had the "fog" issue as many report with so many health issues...OPC's work on our total circulatory system from head to toes....
I have a post on the vitamins/supps section here on OPC's...I'm huge on Coconut Oil, use it for everything. |

Is anybody else following a similar diet? I would like to give it a try but need an example of meals and snacks for a few days. Anybody willing to post a few days worth of sample menu's?

I want to post a good update but seem to be having a setback. I have had setbacks before but so far have not relapsed to the state I was during my onset so..... trying not to let it get me down.
I have done 2 new things in the past week and I'm not sure if its one or the other, or possibly nothing that was in my control that has caused a "flare". 1. I reintroduced beans and rices and have been eating them for a week. 2. 3 days ago, I thought I was cool and did some yoga poses that I guess I'm not ready for. My nervous system is all revved and misfiring all over the place. Last night I had an espophagul spasm that still feels like a knot this morning. I have never had this before! It is hard to swallow. I don't know if its the foods or the yoga or that this was going to happen anyway since there is no rhyme or reason for this whole bs thing anyway. I am angry. ![]() I'm going to lose the rice and beans again and see if this calms down. I won't attempt body weight bearing poses again for a while. ![]() On a positive note* the farmers market here is open and the vegetables are glorious ![]() I will report back what happens. |

Some beans (like the kidney beans) have lectins on their surface.
http://www.precisionnutrition.com/all-about-lectins Dr. D'Adamo's book goes into this in detail: http://www.dadamo.com/ I have never been able to tolerate red beans, myself, so I would consider them a trigger for you possibly.
