Happens to me. But I'm a little weird, I think. I tingle, vibrate, pulse everywhere all the time. I mean everywhere and these sensations never stop. Not for one second of any day. I also twitch all over and all at the same time. I have about 100+/minute twitches all over. These aren't repetitive twitches in one spot these are random once or twice in the same spot twitches. I have no idea what IT feels like to not feel these things. So it's not so weird that ur lips tingle.

Randomly I the feeling that the skin on my upper left arm & all over my back was burning as if I'd had a bad sunburn which wasn't true or I get a creepy crawling feeling over my entire upper body. When this happens the sensations can be quite strong & I can't figure out what's causing them. Quickly I can feel these sensations occurring on my face. When all of this happens I get worried because I then I feel it's spreading, whatever 'it' is. At that point I try to distract myself so that I'll stop myself becoming panicky. Ugh! I understand that the damaged nerves can send inaccurate sensations to my brain but I grow weary of having to deny what my body is telling me. How about you?

The left side of my face frequently feels like I have had a local aneasetic at the dentist that is wearing off, all tingly and annoying it varies how bad it is, I did take carbamazipine which really helped this, unfortunately I couldn't continue with this as it effected my liver 😏 I take pregabalin now but that doesn't help it.

Tingling on the face and mouth may mean anxiety. This is the first go to diagnosis a doctor will have. In fact when I tell my own doctor about my anxiety (which is more like PTSD from an abusive childhood)... she asks if I have the tingling around the mouth. I don't get tingling from anxiety... I get feelings of doom and my blood pressure usually goes up and my heart may pound (esp during sleep).
Another real reason, that many doctors do not attend to is an imbalance of calcium in the body. https://www.merckmanuals.com/home/ho...m-in-the-blood http://www.patient.co.uk/health/hypo...oidism-leaflet

I get a burning, buzzing, tingling on my face, lips, and left side of the tongue. Every morning when I wake up, it feels like someone took a piece of steel wool and rubbed it all over my face (and arms too). After I get moving and take my first meds of the day, this feeling will lessens. While it's very upsetting to have these symptoms, you can get used to it.

If you only have this when you wake up from sleep...I'd look at
your pillow--- Do you use chemical fabric softeners? This can really irritate the skin. We use the new Tide Sensitive (in the white bottle) ...it is really gentle and easy on the skin. We also double rinse everything...you'd be amazed at how much soap comes out on a second rinse. Some people are allergic to feathers. I'd suggest a polyester pillow or some other type than feather.

I wish it were only when I woke up. I have small fiber neuropathy and my face symptoms are sometimes at their worst in the morning. I do get face burning at various times of the day too. I have temperature sensation loss part way up my arm and full body burn, buzzing etc. I'm in the idiopathic camp unfortunately.

I have tingling in my face and scalp that I know is related to issues in my neck. I think nerve hyperexcitability caused by SFN is just making an underlying and existing problem worse. I've noticed that in some other "damaged" areas well.
