I was supposed to have major surgery last year... and the court things conflicted and I had to put it off. That was when the periodontist told me that the Ibuprofen I'd been taking was weakening my jaw bone where the old implants have become infected, and he mentioned that Fozimax did the same thing. So I stopped taking Ibuprofen and I started taking serrapeptase, which I am taking during the night, now. And I take 3 grams of vitamin C about 4 times a day, sometimes more, and that's been keeping the infection under control. I can see when the infection gets worse because I get reddish lines under my thumb nails. My camera doesn't show the color red very well, but I've tried to show how the lines can look a bit like the aurora borealis, or like sort of straight lines. That's on my page with images of my fingernails. Oh, I also started taking a LOT more magnesium to build up the bone, and whey amino acids for a somewhat similar reason... and for whatever reason, I'm nearly pain free now, which is BRILLIANT. ![]()

I think my avatar pretty well sums up how the doc visit went - almost an out of body experience.... apparently I'm trapped between two docs who can not stand each other - and dont agree at all about my health status - and I'm bumping into walls.....
Gonna follow the cats lead and go to bed! ![]() |

BTW, if you go to the Mayo Clinic, and they say you have Sjogren's, the insurance will totally back off. When I told the person who was negotiating a settlement with me that, btw, I have an entire mayo chart documenting my illness, I could almost feel his stomach hit the floor.
They know they cannot bring a court case against Mayo. No jury will believe their hired hands against the Mayo Clinic chart. It's a very strong negotiating point. So, if you can make the trip there, and need to establish the diagnosis, it may well be worth it.

kmeb -
Sometimes the cats know best....and sometimes bed is where you need to be. I have read through this whole thread and cannot believe what the ltd company is putting you through. It's tragic. I'm new and don't know you - but please don't leave. I am so warmed by the support available here and would hate to think of you giving up that resource... Hang in and keep us posted.... Linda |

Good idea about going to bed. (I'm staying in bed today.) I watched a WatchNow movie from Netflix the other day about this French or Italian movie maker who was documenting some of his life in a rather playful way. It was called, Dear Diary. The first part was a little slow, but the last segment was about how his feet were itching something fierce and he went to the doctor, and then another doctor, and finally all the best dermatologists. None of them agreed, and each prescribed something different, or maybe the same, but MORE. He says at one point that the film is true to what he recorded in his diary. At the end, it turns out he has a particular form of cancer that has itching feet as a symptom. So, none of the skin doctors he saw had even remotely caught that. Which of course leads me to why I think it's good to do some things like Epsom salts soaks and B12 and reduction of sugar... even if the expert doctors we are seeing aren't telling us to add those things to our daily schedules.

Well, heres the scoop...
I got back in to my my neuro again last week about the discrepencies on the form he had done - (and not even signed) - he was livid that my GP had called him about me, made me wait two hours - then told me he deserved a thank you note for each visit and that I didnt appreciate him (I always am very nice to him and staff and have even send flowers in the past) - and refused to even talk to me unless I aplogized for not appreciating him... OK - apology.... he then conceded that I could probaby work one hour a day - (he had put down six the prior visit) - changed it in one place on the form but it wasnt until I went to fax the form I noticed he left six in the other place... I faxed request to him yesterday (talked to his nurse first and she said just make one paragraph reqest etc - which I did) - he refused to change and faxed in to my carrier... they are going to cancel me (there is no provision in policy for second opinion at this point of review)... even though my GP and other docs dont agree - and no other doctor has ever said this - and I have tons of objective evidence.... and once I get the denial letter - even if I immediately appeal - benefits stop right there and the SSDI doesnt even cover the rent.... may I panick now? I have absolutely no idea what is going to happen to me... if I could work I would.......................... ![]() Last edited by BEGLET; 09-06-2007 at 02:44 PM. |

KMEB, please don't panic yet...
Surely the disability insurance people are not going to base their decision on one doctor's opinion. Don't they have a truckload of doctors' reports from other docs supporting your problems? And how is he going to explain to them that in one place on the form he says 1 hour and in another place he contradicts himself??? I usually react to stuff like this ballistically and would probably by now be on the phone to the state board that licenses doctors, as well as trying to locate an attorney to take this case, in general raising all kinds of h*ll.... HOWEVER, I am VERY bad about jumping the gun, and it may be too soon to jump, although you could take steps to find out what "can" be done in the event this becomes a reality. This guy prescribed IVIGG's for you... You sure don't prescribe those for people just for kicks or for mental attacks, so he must think something is wrong with you, or perhaps he could explain in court why he prescribed such drastic (and expensive) steps for a patient in such "great" condition... I bet your state has a wealth of lawyers lined up who love taking insurance companies like this to the bank... Meanwhile, how about getting with your GP and paying a visit to the Neurologist he works with??? Stay with us here... Remember the saying, "It ain't over til the fat lady sings?" Cathie |

I'm trying not to panic - but we're past there - just talked to attorney who knows my LTD co very well and said, they are going to jump on this form and run - and as soon as I get the denial in writing to contact her.... in the interim said to find a new neruo obivously but dont send in second opinion until appeal because it may work against me... (however, you are right about the IVIG - this guy even has it prescribed now for me at the hospital - they only do it Monday thru Friday) - and I'm supposed to be working at the same time??????? (for me its 4 1/2 hours and then straight into bed) Since he's the neuro they are going to go on his opinion (the LTD folks) first ---- anyway, going to see the GP right now.....
