Default Kidney stones

I have been having trouble with kidney stones. Seems my kidneys have turned into stone factories and there isnt anything to be done about it. The urologist suggested that it could be the RSD has spread into the kidneys, and it is causing a higher then normal uric acid.

Was wondering if there are others here that have been having this problem, and has anyone found anything that helped to decrease the amount of stones?

Sorry you are having so many kidney stones on top of RSD, that has to hurt!

I do not have kidney stones, but I have Interstitial Cystitis (chronic bladder pain syndrome). My urogynocologist has me focusing on low oxalate foods and following a special IC diet. When I was researching the low oxalate diet, I saw where a lot people that avoid high oxalates were doing it for kidney stones. Not sure if that would help you or not, just putting it out there.

Hope you can get some relief soon!

My husband also had stone often lucky no crps on his case but my is,but for what I learned about his condition he has. Chronic kidney disease stage 3, weneger's granulomatosis, hyperlipemia, hypertnesive kidney disease with chronic kidney stones, predicable tic, proteinuria, pulmonary hypertension and many more medical conditions, but two years ago when his condition decay, his PCp recommended a diet low in calcium, take vit d 50,0000 units twice a week and changes depending on his lab work, welchol for sugar control, lovaza for cholesterol, flomax, and others med but more important uloric to reduce acid so far is working well,no kidney stones for two years, acid free is the key is hard to control what you eat remember your liver process all those meds if the liver can handle so much your kidney will pay the price, uloric is recommended for gout but work by stoping acid formation all the medsimentioned are brand name kind of expensive too but if you have ins and go to the webside of the pharmaceutical that make the med you can get a coupon that allows you to pay. Less combine with your ins,med by itself is 278.00 depending of your ins,the coupon allows you to pay only 15.00 ,talk to your dr about it ,it might work for as well, remember stay away from acid content food, drinks and too much starch ,check all kind of source in the internet in low acid diet, like Nanc said, following a right diet makes a different, hope that helps you a little, blessings good luck

I'm sorry you are in pain with kidney stones Allen. I don't know if rsd causes more acid, but I can't help but wonder if it does attack our organs in ways such as this. Prior to rsd, I was a 46 year old woman with no history of surgery or major health problems. In the three years I've had rsd I had three surgeries. I lost my ovaries, uteris and cervix to endometriosis and my gallbladder to gallstones. I get constant bladder and urinary tract infections in my stomach. It may be a coincedence, but I don't think so. I know my body and it was perfectly fine until I got rsd. My teeth are all starting to die and get pulled or crack in half. I was feeling much better after my gallbladder surgery four days ago, but today I have that darn acid and nausea again right below my ribcage in the center of my stomach. I have had so much acid in my stomach since rsd, and none before rsd. So I think it could be the rsd causing the acid which is affecting your kidneys. I don't think the meds help, but I think in my case rsd is slowly attacking my body, inside and out. I am now going to call the gastroentrologist to check for an ulcer by getting an endoscopy. Iam also having trouble breathing because of this problem. The last two surgeries I had caused shallow breathing and I was kept in post op longer than usual until it was normal again. I need to see a cardiologist too. But one thing at a time. I hope your kidne ystones don't cause you any pain and that it's not rsd related. I will pray that you feel better soon. From your friend, Renee.

Renee I too think RSD attacks everything in the body. I am pretty sure it is causing my teeth to go bad as well, and the blood pressure to get real high. Just a slew of troubles since getting the darn RSD.

Before RSD I was into keeping fit, and worked with weights 4 days a week. That actually worked against me when going before the Social Security judge. Took one look at me and denied me. Luckily a few years later in front of a different judge I didnt look so fit lol.

The stones are a nuisance, but the pain of RSD makes the stone pain annoying instead of rolling me up into a whimpering little ball as it does others that have only the stones to deal with. So I guess there is a plus on the side of RSD if you would call it that

I used to get kidney stones many years ago. Way before CRPS. I am newly diagnosed with CRPS, just a month ago. The kidney stones are no joke. I would rather have ten babies without any pain medication than to have one kidney stone. Hope you are feeling better.

Hi allentgamer,

Sorry you are having issues with kidney stones! One thing you might try to help normalize your uric acid level quickly and naturally is by eating more cabbage, colored vegetables and cherries all which contain high fiber. I was given that advice when my uric acid levels were high and stones appeared on my scans and it worked well the stones have not changed size or location in 2 years. Apple cider vinegar daily has also been recommended but I have yet to try that.

Oh...kidney stones are AWFUL!! I had one about 6 months or so after I got RSD and it was terrible. I don't normally swear but I was literally on the floor yelling out slews of some of the worst profanity I know...something my boyfriend found quite humorous. I don't honestly think I was in my right mind and believe I have blocked a lot of it out.

Thankfully...I only had the one and haven't had a reoccurrence. I think in my case it was diet related. I completely cut soda out of my diet (trying to follow the 4 Fs diet)...and I think that impacted me. Not so much that what I was drinking instead was high in calcium...but that changing my diet like that (I ONLY drank soda before...NOTHING else) I think changed the way I was processing things. Or maybe I was just unlucky...who knows?

But I hope you get better soon and the kidney stones stop. Seriously...wouldn't wish that on anyone...it was AGONY (and that's coming from someone with RSD so I think I know about pain). I had the worst sharp, stabbing pains in my back...made it really hard to breathe.

Take care of yourself.

Thank you!! You all are amazing!!!

Well seen the urologist again, and he said nuthin really can be done diet wise since I have already changed the diet for the RSD. But he did say One glass of lemonade a day will help to change the chemicals in the kidney. Wont stop them, but will reduce the size. I will take that LOL!!

So lots of water, and one glass of lemonade a day. Sounds fair enough!

RSD has played havoc with my blood pressure. Pain elevates your blood pressure. From the research I've done it is quite common.

I also believe I read here or somewhere that it does cause problems with teeth. I believe it has some relation to calcium... not positive though.

I have no advice or info on the stones. Hope you are feeling better soon.
