"Grabbing a fiery-hot pot handle or stubbing a toe may hurt like the dickens, but before you can even scream, “Ouch!” the body sets off a cascading chain of inflammatory responses to help heal the injury. The injured area swells, the skin turns red, and the body releases dozens of inflammatory chemicals to limit the damage. And in response to such an injury, inflammation is a good thing.
Unfortunately, new research suggests that the typical Western diet of highly processed, sugary foods triggers the body to release these same inflammatory chemicals. And that isn’t good. Constant low levels of inflammation over many years may set the stage for a host of chronic illnesses, ranging from diabetes to heart disease to cancer." http://www.naturalsolutionsmag.com/i...theFiresWithin |

I read Full Catastrophe Living as well, and I agree, it was a good use of my time. Acupuncture also seemed to help, and my exercise regimen, and I say regimen, from the time I could only barely even walk across a pool because the grouted spaces were so painful, to yoga lite, to swimming, and yoga medium, and swimming, and weight training, . . . but it was slow slow slow s l o w progress.
Also, my psychologist reminded me that my pain/disease doesn't define me--that it's only one part of the big picture of who I am. That helped a lot. |

Thats a GREAT one hopealot - You are NOT your disease .It does not define you .We are all SO, so much more
![]() I am confused Jo - which diet do you follow ![]() That diet by the internist is very good indeed- very similar to the one posted earlier - the only thing that confuses me is the addition of oranges and grapefruits. I have been told by both Eastern and Western doctors that they are contraindicated for inflammation ![]() ![]() I have not eaten them in years . Then again what do I know ![]() Next on my "to do " list is QiGong -It is a very gentle practice and it is shown to have very beneficial effects on the immune system -incredible in fact - healing properties. It has cured people ! You should research the practice ! Often there are free classes in many community centres Peace GnP PS I reread the above diet and it is called fat resistance which is probably why grapefruit is added .We have all heard of the grapepefruit diet. ![]() |

Alot of what GnP and Jo are saying makes a lot of sense. After eating wrong over the holidays I ended up with a bladder infection and I am sure I am dealing with inflammation throughout my body now. I have also been eating a lot of oranges and grapefruit so there might be some truth to the theory on that too.
Another thing is the tea, I drink tea last night and it was decaf and it started my bladder pain again. I am slowly figuring out what I can and can't eat and drink. I am not big on sugar but I do use the sweeteners. My Dr. has asked me switch to Splenda but it's so expensive. I have no doubt that a diet is important for the pain to be kept in check. If a person wrote down the foods they ate that they don't usually eat then they could soon figure out what not to eat. When we get stomach problems the one thing a Dr. always ask is what you had to eat that day. This thread is a good reminder for me. Thanks, Ada |

Ok, Here is my take.. now, since Bill had his second heart attack, I threw ALL HIS food to the "curb"...(which I did NOT do when he had his first heart attack) And he is a diabetic and he is now only 58 yrs. old. He turned 58 yrs. YOUNG Dec.11th.)
![]() ![]() here is what I have on my list of good foods.. ready? no, I have not lost my marbels, but this is the good stuff to eat in every single person's diet.. RSD or not.. Natural unprocessed sugar(and natural, because this is the best way to go!) because you WON'T have the same sugar crash and negative side effects. now, sweet n low, no way would I use that junk! Equal... same.. junk! and splenda(splenda was the last sweetner in the world) sweetner that man made for us to think was ok, well it is not! Even Crystal light tea is just as bad as the soda/pop . I would never use that stuff There is an article all about "The secret Danger's of splenda,"an artificial sweetner. who ever wants that article, p.m. me.. I will give you that article. Also look at Julia Child... Sure, she used LARD to deep fry, but she also used real whole food that was not loaded with the bug sprays and chemicals we have now. Come on people, eat real food that God has listed in the Bible for us to eat.. lean organic meat... fish... leguemes nuts... olive oil... That is what to eat! Real food! Not stuff man puts in a can and you squeeze out on a cracker, for cryin' out loud. I may step on a few toes, but it's true. I eat nothing white.. no white rice, I eat brown rice. No white breat.. I eat brown breads. On my salad, I use straight olive oil on my salad... or salsa tossed in.. now, margarine.. no.. no and NO!! get something called Earth Balance. may cost you more, but so worth it! I love good "debates" when it comes to anything dealing with the food we eat! Love it!! A lot of people in my family ask me why I have so much energy, now?? same as a car, you put the wrong poor quality gasoline in it, it's going to slooooooooow down. same with out bodies. you put the wrong foods in, your body will in time, slow down. excersise, I started my tummy crunches!! yea! ![]() ![]() Yes, there are people on here that can't have PT. Ask your doctor if you can get those arms, legs, whatever in motion, if you feel like your starting to stiffen up.I love going the next day to PT after I get my Stellate ganglion nerve block, that way, If the block took well, it's(the pt) so much easier! ok.. back to the good stuff now.. hehehehehee "Oh, my poor sister!when my one sister was so tired all the time... well, I sat down with her and she told me she ate sugar, sugar, sugar!! I mean look at the ingredients on your food, soda's/pop and oh wow.. those energy drinks? my, my.. I am surprised that every person drinking that crap won't get a heart attack the way, the companies are lying to us, scheming.. all for what?? a buck?? 'cmon!! Now, many said that they also were constipated from the pills they were on, me included. here is what helps me, a High fiber diet... eat cereal that does NOT contain HIGH FURCTOSE corn syrup... that stuff will make us fat and sick! I love peace cereals... back to nature brand. anything organic. Also ground flaxseed. Add to cereals smoothies or sprinkle on salads. yummy! now.. to get back to soda's/pop I know either way they are carbohydrates your body doesn't need, but is there anything less detrimental about cane sugar that HFCS?( I am on a role now, huh.?) ![]() Ok, Just about everything we eat and drink that is processed has corn syrup added.Just look at the ingredients. So even if you don't drink a lot of soda/pop you still have to look at the rest of your diet. Corn syrup is worse than sugar. Everybody, including healthy people should stay away from corn syrup.. Corn syrup is more concentrated, it depletes(to decrease the fullness of) your chromium levels(which helps with sugar motabolism), requires more insuline to motabolize, has more calories, kills your immune system faster than refined sugar, turns in to fat faster, higher blood sugar, faster weight gain and many more. I caught my oldest son putting corn syrup into my baby grand son's baby bottle, with water! I totally freaked! (a few months back, this episode happened!) I said;"oh my gosh, Billy.. what are you doing putting that junk into Ben's bottle?? He said:"I heard it stops constipation?? I'm like what? who told you this?? he said his ex wife's mother, who may I say is a nurse!!" I totally lost it, he called me a nut, that is until I googled this for him. He threw the whole bottle away, said he will NEVER use this again, talked about being a bad father, I told him to cut it out, he didn't know!! A lot of "Us didn't know", until Bill's heart attack! I used to weigh, three years, ago 155 lbs. yes.. I am only 5 ft. 4 in. tall and now weigh 115lbs. Oh, my... the Dr.'s are so pleased with.(I am proud of myself too! ![]() ![]() While corn syrup is worse, sugar is better; unprocesses and NATURAL IS THE best way to go. ok, what it all comes down to here, is sugar and corn syrup is processed and bleached. Even Brown cane sugar is processed (brown sugar) . Cane sugar is a little better, but, they are not very complex and you get a rush of energy than a crash. And like I was saying eariler Corn syrup is WORSE but they BOTH still have a negitive effect on the body. So unprocessed and natural based is better, while sugar is in the middle, but corn syrup is the worst and I can't stress this enough.Don't walk away from this junk.. run!! ![]() My husband WAS a soda/pop addict until I cleared out everything before he came home from the hospital, I wanted to throw All the food away, all his unopened cartons of diet, regular(I never drank soda/pop, maybe a sip or two here and there(I am a tea drinker.. LOL) Anyway, I gave it to the chuch pantry. (The pantry's are so low with helping the poor, especially during Thanksgiving and Christmas time, back to back. .... Now, I feel guility that I gave all this stuff that I have been preaching on here, to others!!! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Amen sista Desi
![]() I have read statistics that 50% of RSD cases go into spontaneous remissions . Most of those people do not end up on NT . For all the non believers who have been going to doctors for the last how many years hearing the same old same old and doing the same old thing and getting absolutely nowhere...it takes a lot of participation by you in your own health care to get well. it is a multi - disciplined and concerted effort. Often I thought I was doing everything I could to get well by following doctors orders and being very disciplined in my life but eventually I found I was just listening, following orders and getting worse- it became the same old same old . Where are you now compared to 2 - 4 - 5 or even 8 years ago?????? Well I had enough and I needed a change. I plan to come back on here and tell you all that I have beat this thing or that I am at least 80 % better.I am very much on that road and not one year ago I was planning to go to Germany for a ketamine coma . That can always be Plan B but I cannot believe that something so physically ,mentally and in all other ways toxic to the system can actually heal you . -Recovering from being in a coma is hard enough - I just don't have it in me nor do I believe that is the golden ticket . I hope I have helped one person in some way . I will now return to my relative obscurity and work on getting well.I have already improved so much . ![]() I will come back with a report when I think it is time . You can reach me by PM Good Luck to all Peace GnP Last edited by Goodn'Plenty; 01-28-2008 at 01:13 PM. |

![]() I had the eat right 4 your blood type book for yrs and just got the Fat Resistance one a month ago. I usually pick & choose what parts of eating plans that I want to use and file the rest. But the inflammation mention {for whole health} in the Fat Resistance plan made me think to mention it here. Desi, I definitely agree on the Fake sweeteners and fake margarine and all the "imitation" or "diet" foods {aka chemicals}.

I have tried almost everything under the sun with diets and supplements. The best things I use now are:
Flax Seed Oil (omega 3), it helps with my skin, constipation and joint stiffness/inflammation. Multivitamin Vitamin C - extra antioxidant Cranberry extract - 2x a week (antioxidant) Cinnamon - supposedly lowers cholesteral (mine is not high but I use this just in case) Who knows what really works, this is what helps me. I also eat green leafy veggies, limit red meat and only use whole grains (kasha, brown rice, etc) Good luck to you!
