Hey Kate, It's great to see you. Having it go that many days certainly is a pain. We sure don't need anything else to keep things flared up. That's for sure. How's Hannah doing? It's hard to believe she is almost 2 yrs old! Wow, seems like she was just born yesterday! Hugs Debbie Quote:

Hi Karen Thanks for writing. I'm glad your hubby was paying close attention. I've had heavy periods for a few yrs now, but nothing like it has been in the past 6 mons or so. It's just unreal. And seems to really cause a lot more pain when it's going on. I hate it. Hopefully my ins. will make up their mind soon, in my favor. Hugs to you Debbie Quote:

I wish I could agree with you. But no, he plainly stated to me, that once they burnt the uterus, it would be basically burnt together, more or less melting it inside, and they would not be able to see inside again. And that I am not for. Not with having history of cancer there in my family. I would much rather do the freezing. Basically because of the family history. I went into great detail with him about what would happen, would he be able to go back into the uterus after this burning, and he made sure I knew he wouldn't be able to. That was why I chose to write the ins. company to see if they would change their minds. I'm hoping they will. Thanks Debbie Quote:

Debbie, I hope they make up their minds soon too! I wish you much luck that it'll go your way.
My periods were always on time and heavy the first couple of days. I started perimenopause at 31 and ever since, it's not heavy the first day and it's done in 3,4 days max. I feel for anyone who has to deal with a lot of pain with their period. I can't imagine. I just want to get to menopause already and be done with the whole thing! LOL Hugs, Karen

Laffs Karen,
I agree with you. I just want it all over to. In fact I asked him, why can't you just take it all out now! And be done with it....he said the ins. would not allow him to any longer. That I must do all these other procedures first, then if those don't work, He can remove the uterus...I'd much rather just take it all out now and be done with it. Heavy bleeding for this many days is just no fun at all. It's just unreal. you'd think they would let him just take it out and be done with it, since I'd rather do that. Would save them money in the long run, cause then if there were other problems, they'd just have to pay out again anyway...stupid ins. companies... Hugs Debbie

Unreal....it would save money to just take it all now instead of later for sure!! Sheesh! No one ever said they were smart! LOL None of the other procedures are cheap either. Sending good energy your way.
Hugs, Karen

Thank you Karen. You'd think they would just save the money n take it out, since that's what I'd rather they do....but they insist on doing things their way. Ins. companies / doctors ...are way to controlling. They think they know best. The freezing is around 5k and is done in the office, and I'm sure the burning ranks right up there, considering that one, you have to be in the hospital to have done, which means, paying the doc, paying the hospital, payin the man who puts ya under, the drugs...the room.... Makes no sense why they won't give you the choice when the price is basically the same. Thanks Karen Hugs Debbie

*Hugs* I agree about the controlling part! Good grief too many of those docs out there think they know everything there is to know. Doesn't matter what you deal with either, RSD, gyno, even a regular doc. I like hearing about the ones who at least listen and are willing to learn.
Insurance companies though frustrate a lot of docs as well because, like in your case, they either won't approve something or spend a load of wasted money on everything in the world but the one thing you really need to have done. I fear that one day I might need treatment for a female problem. I don't have any insurance and it gives me the willies how I'd pay to have anything done. Hugs, Karen

Hi, I hope you don't mind me using your thread to ask a question
![]() Can you only have surgery there if you have Private Insurance or you pay for it yourself ![]() This sounds like a really crummy thing to have to endure problems like this because of finances. We have a medicare here that is compulsory, it is paid in our taxes according to income which covers all surgery. You don't have that?? Thanks Tayla ![]() |

Tayla.
We have a Medicare system... but.... it is only for those who are retired 65 and over (I believe that's still the age... it changes from time to time) OR those who have an "acceptable" disability. (which is hard to get---many people wait YEARS to get approved for Social Security Disablilty and Medicare) We also have State programs...Medicaid, MediCal--California....not sure what all states call their programs but it can be as hard to get as Medicare. Other than that it's either private insurance or cash out of pocket. Yes, the HEALTHCARE system in the U.S. just plain SUCKS!!! ![]() Abbie
