Well, it's cloudy one minute here and bright and sunny the next. Still no sign of anyone to fix my leak in the roof. I really like my landlord so I hope I don't have to get "pushy" in order to get it fixed.

I LOVE SALES!!! Got a new portfolio carrier for more than half off! Timing is everything, LOL! Needed a bigger one since some of my canvas sizes don't fit in the one I have now. Last one left too.

Went to the art store with a coupon I got online, and they were also having a one day in store event since they are sponsoring the art show I'm in this weekend. So I made out like a bandit.

Of course, I'm thinking that was my push for the day. But can't begrudge it at all.

Sox, so glad to hear DS had a better day yesterday. I can still remember how upset my DD was to start 1st grade...she wanted to stay with her kindergarten teacher. Come to think of it, she felt that way for about 3 years in grade school. Not good about new situations to this day...

My neuro upped my zanaflex to 6 mg morning and mid afternoon and up to 12 mg at night...I could barely drive yesterday morning, but today I seem to be used to it. Wow! What a difference! I can even reach down on the floor and scoop up my dog's hair on the kitchen floor...I can roll over during the night without bringing on a leg spasm. the fasciculations have calmed too...thank God for medicine!!

Well, DH and I are attending another seminar that my neuro's office holds...it's about navigating the system: how to find info and services you need. Sounds like a good one!

Quick check in! Somebody stop the hammering!! I have painters here today. They are replacing most of our fascia boards, cleaning, tightening and resealing the gutters and repairing a couple of window sills... so lots of sawing and hammering going on! I just hope the weather holds out for 6 more days so they can get the painting done! Wish I had the stamina to do it myself...would save a bundle!

TK... I'm so sorry about your dad's health. I will pray for him and your mom. Praying you will have strength to finish all those paintings too! I have a very talented sis in law that wants to paint soooo bad, but she can't afford to quit her day job to paint.

Good Morning All!

Trying to take it easy today since I have an event to go to tonight, So plan on doing those little putterings here and there without the big push I had yesterday.

My big push yesterday ended with a sinus migraine. Gotta love these fall allergies and the way they sneak up on us. Started as a normal sinus headache, took some medicine, but it didn't work fast enough - Bam! Migraine city and needing to sleep in a dark room for a few hours. Other than that, I was having a pretty good day yesterday.

Thankful I don't get these as often as I used to and thankful I haven't had a stress related one in years!

Sitting in my office and coughing. I am actually coughing less than during the night so hopefully I will continue to improve.

My exciting (scary) news is that I decided to file the paperwork to retire in May 2012. I am not eligible to retire until January 2012. By filing this tentative paperwork, it guarantees me summer courses for the next two summers, which then increases my average salaray. They use the average of your last four years as well as years worked in order to determine your benefit.

If I do not retire in 2012, I will just not be eligible to teach in the summer again for several years. However, I am pretty sure I will retire then because I just do feel as if I am doing a good as job. Next year, I will have to file permanent paperwork, in order to be partially reinmbursed for some of my sick leave. Six months after retiring, I can teach one class a year if one is available, and if I am interested. I planned on teaching for several more years prior to dx and I would like to have more money in the pension system, but I think I will be okay. I will just have to learn how to be frugal.

Fin - Great job with the sales! Hope all goes well tonight. Good idea to rest up today. Sorry to hear about the allergies and the migraine.

Barb - Hope you are starting to feel better today.

DebbieD - Yeah!!! Sounds like you found the right med dosage for you. That is great.

Kelly - Hope someone comes to look at/fix the roof soon. That is so frustrating when things like that happen.

TKTC - LOL. Sounds like my house the other morning only they were painting. They guys are noisy painters - slamming their ladders all over. Hopefully the weather will be good for you all so that they can do the painting.
