But they are great for painting on canvas and less expensive than acrylics and you don't have to mix colors - what you see is what you get. (I hate it when I mix the right color, run out of it, and then have to try to mix a new batch. You never get it right.)

(((Vonn))) - Dang vampires. I am sorry to hear that your enzymes are still off. Hang in there and let us know how you are doing.

DebbieD - Hope you got your energy spurt. I am more energetic in the morning, start petering out around 10 a.m. and the energy rarely comes back even after napping.

Tricia ... I checked out those samples .. and for under $3 and it's more like 5-6 oz of paint ... and they are flat, which is great ... I've been tempted ...

Jenn & all - thanks (about the hugs) ... Jenn, what color was the hallway??

thanks everybody for listening ... I don't have answers - just results ... trying to make the best of it .. guess there's nothing I can do but wait -- calling my doctor (reg) tomorrow about these new tests ... and see what I can find out ...

still really windy here ..

Kelly, sorry to hear about your cousin. Hope it's an early enough detection. Prayers heading out.

Trish, that's an interesting idea about using those little paint things for canvas.

Vonn, (((HUGS))) hope they can find out what's going on soon.

Debbie,

Sandy, I've begun to notice a trend that my husband gets the home improvement itch around this time of year. Took it to heart this time when he said, "pick something while I'm in the mood to do it, I am sick of white."

Everyone,

~~~~~~~
I was at an art guild meeting and Hubby put the second coat up last night of the foyer/front hallway. The technical color mix was called "coral confection" - but basically, it's peach. Works with the hardwood floor we have in there. Not quite sure it would work in the rest of the house, which is mainly carpet.
The remaining main traffic rooms will have to have carefully selected colors. The floor plan of the home is rather open, and wouldn't mind having something to help divide the main rooms. Just have to make sure no clashing occurs
Fin, good luck with the painting. Take a picture when it's all done!
It's finally cool here......53 degrees this morning!! Supposed to be in the 70's for highs all week. I just love this time of year. I know we'll get Indian Summer sometime in October but it never lasts for more than a couple of days.
I'm not sure what I'm going to do today. I feel like I could go back to sleep but I don't want to sleep these nice days away. Wish I had some money to go shopping.......
Another cup of coffee is calling for me so I'm gonna go get it. Ya'll have a great day and stay out of trouble!
Fin & Vonn - I get my "Paint Pods" at Ace Hardware. I don't know how much you get as all my paints are all at DBF's right now. But they do work out really well and save so, so much $$. Also, you can pick up smaller cans that they mixed the wrong color but need to sell them. These are fairly cheap as well.
Kelly - You can go dollar store or thrift store shopping. Actually, the things that I would buy at the dollar store are slightly more expensive than at Target. I go to Walgreen's for body wash as it is only $1 (I think it is either Suave or White Rain - can't remember). Now that is a deal. Thrift store shopping is great as well. I bought an old antique night stand for $25 a while back (a few years ago). I striped it down, glued the loose parts, and sanded it. For the past couple of weekends DBF stained it and polyurethaned it. I looks beautiful. I also got a couple of solid oak counter height chairs for $5 one time.
Oh and get this one. A little red neck here but . . .I can't remember if I posted about this but on the 4th of July weekend we went camping. On the way there in the middle of nowhere I saw a adult trike. DBF said if it was there on our way back we would stop and check it out as there was no where to pull the motorhome over. It was still there on the way back in is fairly good condition, just need to fix the brakes and do some cosmetic work as it is old and rusty. So, I have a 3 wheel bike. This past weekend DBF and his neighbor across the street went walking Sunday morning. They found a bike and on their way home they got and brought it back. We now have 2 bikes but DBF is going to use parts from the bike they found and put it on my trike. How cool is that! I got a $400ish bike for $0.
I also know a girl who goes around town on the "big" trash day. She gets all sorts of stuff, fixes them up, and sells them. She does fairly well and has found some really cool things. Plus, she's making money. I've been thinking of doing something like this both for the enjoyment and earning a little bit of money.
Ok, all chatted out for this morning. Want to get over to see my dad. Speaking of my dad we had some encouraging news. His bone scan and CT scan came back negative. That was awesome. He is planning on having his bladder removed due to the aggressiveness of the cancer. Not sure of the date for this. (Sandy - he is not having the bladder rebuilt as I thought he was.). So that is the update and good news for my dad. Although, his biggest concern is that the cancer is somewhere else "running around his body" and hasn't shown up yet. He is going to talk to his PCP about this and my brother and I encouraged him to get 2nd opinions as well.
Have a great day everyone!
Morning all! Mom had a checkup with her pcp yesterday and he tested her for alzheimers. He did a simple memory test. She did Ok and he doesn't think she has it but my sister and my mom forgot to mention it has run in the family. Four maternal aunts have or had it and were my grandma's sisters. Oh well, hope he's right. He also suggested she may have the onset of Parkinson's because she has a shake in his arms that annoys her. He wants her to talk to her neuro about that. My aunt on my grandfathers side (his sister) has Parkinson's. Please say a small prayer for her that it's not parkinson's and is related to the brain surgery.
We don't have much planned today. Doing some laundry. We have court with my cousin on Thursday so getting ready for that.
Have a good day everyone.
Trish, if he has any questions please feel free to ask anything about the surgery.
Sandy, Prayers for your mom going out.
Found out I'm sporting a low grade fever, yeehaw! No wonder I was a bit of a slug yesterday and feel like doing nothing today. Gonna keep myself pumped full of fluids today.
And as per request, the new hallway. Of course the pic still has the painters' tape and misc. painting stuff in it. And it's also a cloudy, blah day. But the camera was already in the living room. That's where I took the pic from.
Just dropping by to say a quick hey. I am feeling about 75% better Now, I am trying to catch up on grading, preparing tests, etc. Read all of you posts (I think). Sending out hugs to all of you even if you do not need one. Now I need to take a quick nap before I get back to my grading.
OMGosh! You are such a teacher; 75%. LOL I just had to giggle at that.
So glad to hear you are feeling better. Now rest up so you can get that last 25% better.
