Trish --
Did you ever hear from your professor? Is this for the class you are doing on line? That is inexcusable if it is.

I do have one colleague who will never answer emails or return phone calls from students. He believes that is why he has office hours Of course, we all think he is a bit of a ***. I have tried to argue with him about it, but he is very pompous.
I will admit that I sent a sarcastic reply to a student who emailed me yesterday to ask me when the next test was and what chapters were covered on it. I told him if he came to class or read the syllabus he would know. Then I answered the question.

Can someone please tell me why we send our kids to college only to hear the starting salary for a teacher is just over 30g's? The average Illinois starting salary is supposed to be $37,000 but Chris was just told his would be $31000 at a school he is applying to. Ugh, argh, stomping feet. Is it the economy or what? This is a private gifted school at that and you know they are pulling in cash. Oh well, I guess we should be glad he can find a job these days. He can get his feet wet and then move from there if he chooses to.

Ooohh, Barb, I love sassy professors! Great line!!
Love the idea of sharing fat. Call it "Share the Love (handles)" program. I could make mucho dinnero in this program!!
Yep, Goldie Hawn, Vonn. What are these women thinking?
When I had a black eye from falling, I joked with people that DH had slugged me. Got some raised eyebrows occasionally...jeesh, just kidding, people...

Slept part of the afternoon. My pcp's nurse called and took me off of the Crestor for a week to see if the joint/muscle pain subsides. Then I had to go out to the pond and empty about 20 buckets full of water due to the heavy rain. Yuck...I'm kind of looking forward to shutting the pond down...getting tired of the leaves and the muck I have to keep cleaning out.

Well, I have to go pick up DD and her DH from the trip downtown. They took the train into the city, so I'm the limo driver

I will stop shaking... eventually... I think...

Anyone who says snakes are more afraid of me than I am of them is full of crap! If it were true I would never ever see one. I came home from some shopping this afternoon to find a small one about a foot away from my bottom porch step. I tried a few times (with a rake) to convince it that it really wanted to slither away from the house but it kept coming toward it. I finally got a neighbor to remove it from my yard. Would have begged DH to do it but he was still at work and I was pretty sure the neighbor guy was home. I will stop shaking... eventually... I think...

In other news... I still haven't decided what I want to be when I grow up but medical transcription/ billing/ coding has been ruled out. I'm reading way too many "burned out", "very low paying", "future looks bleak", "impossible to break into" stories. At this point I am heavily leaning toward updating my computer skills and hoping that leads me someplace good. My current skills are so outdated they put me at a major disadvantage right out of the gate.

Still shaking in my shoes...

Sandy, I think that salaries at private schools are generally lower than many public schools. My sister teaches at a private university where the tuition alone is over $35,000. Her starting salary was about $10,000 less than what she would have received here.

new update:

received a call today about the lip biopsy ... yep - there is inflamation - but, again, there really isn't any treatment other than OTC or better Rx for eye drops for tears ...

I then made an appointment on the same day as my liver biopsy (Nov 12) to have my hearing checked too!!

TRICIA Update: just heard on the Doctors that Japan is now (has been) taking fat and with the person's own stem cells ... the fat is inplanted into breasts for 'bigger boobies' ... too funny!!

My prayers are finally being answered, lol.

Just kidding.

Hi everybody!!

I haven't checked in for awhile because I've been very busy! Business is picking up here, and I've been studying for some computer certification classes. I spent the past week picking on Biogen too, lol.

I'm taking a "drug holiday" from Tysabri as of end of September (my last infusion) and I'll see the neuro end of January to see how I'm doing and if I want to go back on it. If you want the details about all that, read the Tysabri check in thread and my "Call Biogen and Complain" thread, lol.

I have a job interview Monday afternoon. I have a full schedule for the weekend too.

My desk is full of paperwork I have to go through. I also have to get some details for the accountant for the closing of the old company, since I met with him on Wednesday. Yikes, I better get off of this site and get to work.

Happy Halloween everyone!!!

Also, have a nice weekend, and big hugs to each of you and prayers going out for all who need them.

I forgot to mention. We spoke with Jim's doctor today and he said that he doesn't feel Jim should get the H1N1 vaccine. I asked why and he said many vaccines are tricky and he doesn't want to expose Jim to anything that may exacerbate his ms or make him sick. I think secretly he's not ready to say Ok since it's a rushed vaccine and so new. haha Anyway, he said if Jim feels strongly and wants it he wont stop him but in his medical opinion Jim getting the regular flu shot and having the pneumonia shot is enough for him. Hope that made sense.

His cultures came out with Klebsiella. Since he has no symptoms he said he will not treat Jim because he's more than likely colonized. If he starts to have any symptoms I am to call asap so he can call in some meds.
