Barb, I hope the antibodies are just a temp thing.
Vonn, Miss Clarol messed me up. I kicked her to the curb! Kay, looks like the gray will have to wait until Friday to hide. Jim started running a small temp and wanted to stay in bed today. It's all good, I was feeling a tad lazy myself today. |
oh Barb ... so sorry, dear!! I don't understand all about the medications and setbacks ... Sandy is right - they are a temp thing (from what I've heard from others) ...
and voice your thoughts that Ty is helping you walk better ... I feel better with the copaxone (and some can't take it) .. it's been a year - some symptoms come and go ... some stay ... but none of them go away all together ... sorry, Sandy about your bouts with Miss Clairol ... I've tried the others - and leaned on Clairol to get me out - and they have! trying to stay busy ... and waiting until Friday to talk to the person about the job position ... then I can plan to MOVE! MOVE MOVE MOVE ... :Wheel: |
Barb, I too hope the antibodies are a temporary thing.
Vonn, you reminded me that we're procratinators too. :Blush2: Sandy, Glad you posted. Been missing ya. ~~~~~ We went out to dinner and then grochery shopping. Bring home less food that way, LOL. We've learned the hard way never to go to the store hungry. We always manage to spend a ton more than expected if we do that. :D |
barb, that's a bummer.... but... I've read that it should be okay to keep taking it.
did they tell you how many times you have to test positive for the antibodies before they will be wanting to discontinue the Tysabri? Approximately 9% of patients receiving TYSABRI developed detectable antibodies at least once during treatment. Persistent antibody-positivity was associated with a substantial decrease in the effectiveness of TYSABRI. Antibodies detected early in the treatment course (within the first 6 months) may be transient and disappear with continued dosing. http://www.rxlist.com/cgi/generic/tysabri_ad.htm |
Where is everyone today? Hope you are all doing okay. Thanks for your messages yesterday. I guess I will just have to be patient (not my strong point) and see how this all plays out. Stayed home today and have been reading. The weather is lousy here; cold and raining. It sort of matches my mood:rolleyes:
I get my hair highligted at a salon. Had to have it done twice last week because the first time my "few gray/silver" hairs turned white:eek: So then they had to put some color back in. I think my stylist left the solution on too long. She has made a few mistakes in the past several months. I may have to find a new one, but that is always a chore. I have been going to her for about 10 years. I think she is taking me for granted. I feel like I am considering cheating on her. LOL! |
Today's been a pretty quiet day for me over here Thank goodness, LOL. Haven't been sleeping well lately and am very tired. At least tomorrow is Friday. :trampoline:
|
Quiet here too. Nothing much to report. Where is Renee?
|
Hey I'm here! Did not log on until after 7 this evening. Trying to do alot of extra studying with Dayton this week as I have to administer standardized tests next week. I go see my attorney tomorrow for my "coaching" before court on Tuesday. Its been almost 80 degrees here all week...hear that Sandy? :p
|
Whew, for a minute I thought I missed your court date. That would be a bad friend wouldn't it?
And please give me a break will ya? It snowed, sleeted (is that a word) and rained all day here. |
busy here ... guess we all need to keep posting to keep Barb from going bonkers while she's not feeling good!
been medicating with DayQuil all day .. and NyQuil last night ... still hacking and sound like a duck ... but, made it a good day ... trying to keep my wits about me about the vocational rehab appointment tomorrow .. this is getting 'me' into the program ... the job position is to be 'within' the department working for others with disabilities and helping them get back into the work environment with different skills ... filling out the state job ap tonight to bring along ... sorta weird - applying for a job that will be helping me get a job ... funny but cool ... don't laugh - I'm watching a video of guys fishing ... and they got some cutie guides and fisherman ... ahhh ... will fill you in after the appointment tomorrow!! |
Barb - I could bore you to death with jibberish if you want. LOL. Staying home and reading a book with you kind of weather sounds great. That's a perfect way to rest and relax. Hope you start feeling better soon.
Fin - The same goes for you. I hope you start sleeping better at night. Renee - Hey, that's our weather too! I've even had to run the a/c already and they are predicting a very hot summer. I wish I could head north for the summer. Good luck tomorrow. Sandy - Give me another month and I'll be bit*hing about the weather here. If it goes as predicted will be hitting 115, blazing heat, no shade (or very little). Took a walk with DD17 yesterday. I wanted to go at least 1/2 mile. It was 86 out. I made it 1/8 of a mile and my legs "froze" up and we came home. Yup, can't wait for summer. Vonn - Good luck tomorrow. I hope all goes well for you. Nothing new here. Kind of boring. Well, I have been painting so I guess that's something. |
my daily insight
I are |
:Wave-Hello: Good morning all. Have my usual cup of coffee and trying to wake up.
Got a dentist appointment this morning. Yuck. Hate going, but need to get those teeth cleaned. ~~~~~ Vonn, Hope the voc rehab appointment goes well today. Renee, Wow, you are one busy lady. The hearing coming up and all that work for standardized testing. Still keeping fingers crossed that everything goes well ya. TK, I'm trying to sleep better, but still having issues. Oh well, hoping things improve soon. Sandy, I hear you. It's cold here still in the mornings. Spring's taking it's time it seems. Or I'm just suffering from severe cabin fever, lol :D |
Fin - The past few days I have been a spastic mess. Last night I took a nice Epsom salt bath before bed. I finally slept well. The muscles were nice and relaxed for once. I swear by these baths. They really, really help me. Naturally, don't take it while you are home alone. I take them while dds are here just in case I get the water too hot and have trouble.
From the Epsom Salt Council . org: Studies show these benefits from the major components of Epsom Salt may: Magnesium: * Ease stress and improves sleep and concentration * Help muscles and nerves function properly * Regulate activity of 325+ enzymes * Help prevent artery hardening and blood clots * Make insulin more effective * Reduce inflammation to relieve pain and muscle cramps * Improve oxygen use Sulfates: * Flush toxins * Improve absorption of nutrients * Help form joint proteins, brain tissue and mucin proteins * Help prevent or ease migraine headaches |
aw, man!
why'd'ja haveta go and DO that, TK ?? now I want a bath, but... haven't got the tub, nor the water, nor the Epsom Salts, lol. my back is all achy, and a nice long warm soak sounds like JUST the ticket! why do we always seem to want things that are out of reach? ;):(;) |
HMMM never knew that about epsom salts...always thought it was kind of like an old wives tale thing!
Well I was pooped yesterday and did nothing all evening except lay around, I gave Dayton a day off of school today since he has worked so hard to prepare for his testing the past two weeks. It is important he do well though because if he doesn't score well enough I will be put on probation for a year with rigorous observation from the school district....thats why all of us home school mommies are fanatical about our testing! I skimmed over the test last night and it looks like he pretty much knows most of the material...I'll admit there were certain things even I didn't know! he said can I see the booklet? NO NO NO LOL I said yeah if you want to start testing NOW...no sneak peeks....his reply ummmm I'll wait until Monday! Olivia that poor child is still a snot factory she goes to the doc on Thursday next week. Well I guess I better go so I can get ready to go see my attorney! Kayo get everything crossed! |
"snot factory"
:) hope the test goes well. my sister homeschooled her son for 9 years, he's in college now, doing well. I couldn't do that... not because I'm not smart enough, or patient enough, or organized enough, but just because I was always too darn tired! so, I did the next-best thing, and put my kids in a tiny private school run by us parents. see, I was a single mom, worked fulltime, and was a cub scout leader, and a daily school volunteer. |
Renee - I was the same way as you - wives tale - until I tried it. Now I'm hooked. I really, really want to stay off the medicine bandwagon and only take disease modifying drugs (C). I do take 2 other meds for pain (Celexa and Neurontin) and I am being stubborn about starting the baclofen. The Epsom salt baths help me accomplish that.
Good luck today. |
Thanks for the advice about the epsom salts. Forgot about that, LOL. We have a box on hand for when hubby is sore.
I do have some good news! I am a no cavity kid, yippee! :Dancing-Chilli: |
BTW - An added benefit of the baths - when I do them regularly I lose weight.:D OK, it's probably just retention but still, I drop a few pounds.
Fin - Good girl! I love it when they say, "No cavities." |
i do salt soaks still my gramps swore by them. and not only when he dropped the big box on his bad toe, love the feeling afterwards, and its even better in my hottub bathtub, say that real fast 5 times,
as for spring it is fighting to take over slowly here,i have crocus and daffodils and tulips and yuccas and iris's all working there way up have my victory garden seedlings all coming up inside too. the birds are back in force no redwing black birds yet though, thats a sign of spring is here for sure around here. I did try a forcing of spring last night headache and all i bar b qued made maxwell street polish sausages on the grill with grilled onions and sauerkraut, it smelled awesome outside as it snowed had two neighbors yell at me it smelled so good, and one of them actually came over and got one, it was good eats last night here ps... Attorney's appt went ok he is hopeful we get a fully favorable with at least 2 years back pay but we will see. The judge I got is a very fast no nonsense former marine/criminal prosecutor..he said if my trial lasts more than 10 minutes somethings wrong! he said this guy never even uses occupational consultants or anything. After my appt hubby and I had to put in an appearance at a promotion party for one of the guys in his office, then we went shopping for a birthday gift for the neighbors daughter. OH BTW ...close your eyes Frank, although I know you know all about all this girly stuff.....Sandy, I finally was visited by Aunt Margaret (aka the period) 3 weeks late but better late than never! Getting closer to post number 1000, are yall gonna start competing for the prize? LOL whoever gets there better email your addy! Watch me post number 1000 LOL YAY present for me! |

its good to be back and being a thorn in folks sides i so much enjoy it:eek: |
actually had a good night's sleep last night. Woke up to sunshine and my coffee is brewing in the background. Feeling pretty good at the moment. :)
Probably going to putter around the house since it's still a little cold outside. Hope everyone has a great day! ~~~ Renee, glad to hear appointment with lawyer went well. Still have fingers crossed for your hearing. |
so, NaeNae, does this mean I can uncross?
:D:p:D |
hey Jenn ... does that mean that you use a golf club to clean (I mean putter) ...
**UPDATE** don't know where to start ... nothing exciting ... just working and not looking forward to figure out my bills ... I'll worry about that tomorrow ... where's that darn fairy godmother! there's no place like home, there's no place like home! |
17 or 18 more days vonn then all ya got to deal with are extensions taxes and death only two grantees in life hey bar tender another round
|
Went to see "The Other Boelyn Girl" yesterday. I enjoyed it. Not a great movie but entertaining. Now I will probably read the book to see how it compares. The sun finally came appeared here in Central Illinois. Today I went shopping with a friend and out to lunch as Cheeseburger in Paradise. Had mini crab cake sandwiches and sweet potato chips. Yum! I bought 2 new shirts and a suitcase. I seem to be constantly insearch of a suitcase that is not too heavy but holds enough. We were gone about 7 hours (an hours drive each way and I drove) so I am feeling rather tired and rather stiff.
I am kind of nervous about my next tysabri infusion on Wednesday so I am trying to keep busy so I do not think about it so much. Hope everyone had a good Saturday! |
saturday was my first day without my friend chucky, yes i named the headache after 9 days i felt it deserve a name no less that chucky or damien,
anyway its sunday and chucky is back and with a vengance, guess i shall try to hold off till the morrow and see what the neuro says he should be back from his greek isle festivals, worse case we will just go into er later tonight or today and i didnt take any meds yesterday cause i felt great and was so sick of the extra pills i was having to take, actually am tired of all the pills i have to take, anyone else also tire of taking too many pills, sometimes i wonder how safe it is taking all these diff pills |
UGH sorry to hear about Chucky Frank, maybe you need your head examined! (LOL)
Barb- OMG I love Cheeseburger in Paradise! They're sweet potatoe fries should be their own food group! Kayo No!!! Do not uncross anything! My hearing is on Tuesday! Couldn't post yesterday as we had no electricity! They were replacing the lines directly behind my house,so we went out for the day. |
Good morning everyone!
Renee - Glad Aunt Margaret came to visit. Frank's right better that name than another. LOL. It sounds as if you had a good visit with the attorney. I hope the hearing goes just as well. Fin - I so happy for you that you finally got a good nights sleep. Isn't that such a great feeling. I hope that continues for you. Vonn - When you find the fairy godmother can you give her my address? Maybe our fairy godmother has MS too and "forgot" us. :D Frank - I am so glad to see you posting again. I do hope your headache goes away soon. Let us know. 9 days is a long time! Yes, I get tired of taking pills and shots even though I only take a few pills. Barb - Reading about your day exhausted me. LOL. I am so glad you were able to do all of that yesterday. I know this is easy for me to say but I'm going to say it anyhow, try to relax. It seems that many who are doing the Ty are improving greatly. That will be you. ~~~~ I got a book on different techniques for painting for my birthday. It's awesome. I went out on Friday and spent some of my tax return (my little tax return) on painting supplies and mediums. I felt like a kid in the candy store and DD 16 had to keep me under control as I was on a budget.:p I never knew how much I would enjoy abstract painting. I have always done concrete things (landscapes & still life). Oh the fun I am going to have.:D I'll bet you can guess what I will be doing today. |
Hi everyone! I hope this finds everyone feeling a tad better today. I am not doing much of anything today. I will scrub my living room floors today and finish off some laundry while Jim soaks in the tub. I think I am getting the raw deal. lol
Tomorrow I wont be on here until the evening. Jim and I are staying in a hotel because he has an early appointment at the VA hospital. Have a good Sunday everyone! Renee, I'll call you on Tuesday after Jim's appointment OK? It may be the evening. I am praying for you. TK, I wanna come play at your house! |
hope the visit goes well Sandy and Jim, personally I think its time for a break go hot tubbing too sandy
|
Thanks Frank. I wont be hot tubbing for two reasons. One, it isn't big enough for Jim and I (it's a solo tub) and two, I don't like sitting in a bath. I get bored. lol
I will relax though. Maybe I'll just sit and watch a movie while he soaks. Maybe the floors can wait? |
Good afternoon all :) No golf clubs for puttering today, LOL. :D May try to get some small cleaning done, though.
Trying to figure out if I have the strength to go out and do some running around with the hubby. We made plans yesterday, but the MonSter seems to be acting up a little today. I'll probably be stubborn and push, lol. Hope everyone has a great day! :) |

I WISH I could soak in a tub...this house has the smallest tubs ever! Cannot wait to move to SC I am not buying a house that doesn't at least have a garden tub! On that note the AF says we have to be in SC by Oct 1st, but doesn't say when they are sending us yet!
