i dont have a tub for two, just know how to fit two ::Grins,,,,,,,,, how yall doing

CayoKay 03-30-2008 08:14 PM

ahhhhhhh... me so TIRED !!

we finished building a shelter for our new goat buck.

betcha it takes ol' Dunno-His-Name-Yet about a WEEK to myrtlize it!

I was about splittin' a GUT, lmao-ing so hard I nearly p**d, watching my husband Mr. Potty-Mouth trying to drag the extremely recalcitrant goat into the enclosure... one hand firmly clutching the rope, and the other simultaneously tugging and fending off the HORNS !!

toot toot - beep beep!

cheap entertainment on the CAYO E-I-E-I-O Farm.

:D :cool: :D

so, I amble over, with a margarine tub of whole dried corn, and a few crispy cabbage leaves, and much to hubby's blush-ment, the lil demon happily followed me into the pen, and greedily gobbled the treats.

the moral of the story: sometimes women's wiles work better than brute force.

:p;):p

weegot5kiz 03-30-2008 08:42 PM

the moral is that or sometimes guys just dont get it lol

CayoKay 03-31-2008 02:49 AM

you may ask yourselves, "Why on earth is Kay UP at two in the morning?"

well, I'll tell ya... Army Ants decided to swarm towards our house tonight.

:eek::(:eek:

DH valiantly headed them off with lines of woodchips, doused in kerosene, and set ablaze.

here's the intrepid warrior, manning the barricades:

http://img239.imageshack.us/img239/8898/dscn4813rq9.jpg

the ploy worked to keep them out of our house, but unfortunately, the direction the ants veered off too was the chicken coop.

so, we had to roust all the chickens, and set 'em free.

they're now sleeping under our cabana.

sheesh, life in the jungle, it's a neverending adventure!

:D:winky::D

FinLady 03-31-2008 07:37 AM

Kay, Glad DH was vigilant last night. Sorry they veered off towards the coops, but glad the army ants avoided your house.

Sandy, wishing Jim luck with the appointment today

Renee, know what you mean about small tubs. ick. Hope when they send you to SC you can find a place that has a decent sized tub.

TK, sounds like you're having a great time painting.

Frank, congrats on the one getting the 1000th post :)

Sarah, :hug: Being in charge can be stressful, but if it's an overall quieter place to work - it may be worth it. Praying for your job opportunity.

~~~~
Morning all. Weird weather once again. High was 40 yesterday, and today will be the 60s. But it's supposed to rain. :rain:
Hubby and I compromised a bit yesterday. Didn't do as much as we had planned since I wasn't doing as well, but we did have a great time doing what I was able to do. :)
Have a test tomorrow morning. Ick, I hate feeling like a lab rat sometimes - lol.
Hope everyone has a great day today. :grouphug:
weegot5kiz 03-31-2008 10:14 AM
well we got thunderstorms but not our first thunderstorms of the year those came when it snowed back in jan, now does that make sense. think the frogs and locust are scheduled for next month
howdy howdyhowdy
NaeNae 03-31-2008 02:10 PM
Hey all you guys and gals. I am so exhausted I could literally fall over!! And I actually slept last night after combining a muscle relaxer and my Ambien! I think it is more mental exhaustion than anything....trial tomorrow and then the standardized tests this week.
But here is a plus...as some of you know my son had severe problems at birth and has learning disabilities and ADD/ADHD and an autism like disorder, however he aside from being small and the LD thing is a pretty normal kid, I homeschool him on a 7th grade level in everything except math and English...there I have him on a 5th grade level.
Well the standardized tests are on a 7th grade level in every subject to see where he compares right? I feel like I have totally accomplished something with this homeschooling! I do make one adjustment to the standardized tests...I read along with him out loud (this is allowed) So far today he has answered over 150 questions,in vocabulary,comprehension,spelling,and study skills...again on a 7th grade level. AND>>>> He knew almost all of them!!!! I think out of 150 he may have missed less than 10 questions. That is awesome!!! Patting myself and him on the back!
However it has left me TIRED!!! Now off to cook dinner......
soxmom 03-31-2008 02:55 PM
Wow Renee. You do get a pat and give your son one too. It is wonderful
your hard work has payed off.:) You go Mom, good job.:hug:
Sox
weegot5kiz 03-31-2008 02:55 PM
EXCELLENT
deb and I are also parents of LD kids with autism and severe adhd etc.. congrats, you did great as did your son, I say its time for the two of you to sneak out to DQ for a treat, congrats
greta 03-31-2008 03:00 PM
Good job Renee. You should be very proud...of both of you!
CayoKay 03-31-2008 03:33 PM
good job, son of NaeNae!
:hug:
Kitty 03-31-2008 03:59 PM
Wow, Renee - that's something to be really proud of.
I scared to watch "Are You Smarter Than A Fifth Grader" unless I am alone....then nobody can see how many questions I get wrong!! :o
Anyone who homeschools and excels at it should be proud of themselves!! :Clever:
FinLady 03-31-2008 05:08 PM
:Dancing-Chilli::Dancing-Chilli::winner_first_h4h:
That is great news about your son, Renee!!! Glad to hear it!
sabimax 03-31-2008 05:15 PM
I give homeschoolers much credit...I wanted to when our first son was bored in Kindergarten....but then had to work full time...so veered from it...but from what I have read and looked into over the years...Many homeschooled children are much higher educated then kids thru the public schools....I think the direct attention..and learning with hands on....and with interest....
anyhow...tub for two...yes I know how to squeeze two into a tub for one too...hehehehehe :wink:
GUESS what...IT IS SNOWING HERE>>>I MEAN we could get quite a bit...we are in a winter storm warning....can they give WINTER storm warnings on March 31st...overnt to April 1st....is this a sick April Fools joke..?? hehe
hugss all, sarah ( I have till next Monday I think to decide on my job opportunity...that is when the owner will be back from his vacation)
SandyC 03-31-2008 05:34 PM
Hey all! Not doing anything. Nada. I am laying on this really nice bed at the Hampton near Oakbrook. haha Why is it hotel rooms seem so relaxing?
Kudos Renee!!!!
Sarah, lol I used to know how to squeeze into a one person tub. haha
Frank, did you hear that thunder the other day with the snow, sleet and rain?
Finn, good luck on your tests as well tomorrow. I forgot to do Jim's 24 hour Creatinine Clearance. I am sure my hands will be spanked in the morning. :-(
Kay, you had fire ants? Oh my! Not again!
~~~~~

Up early for my test this morning. Don't want to do it, but need to. The urologist (sp?) was a little stern with me for not seeing someone about my bathroom issues sooner. Had problems with this starting in '05.

Wasn't as bad then, but he gave me the lecture about not seeking help sooner. Then I told him that the tremors in '06 kinda put it on the back burner, and that made him quiet, LOL.

At least I choose a warm day to do this. Temps are supposed to drop overnight.

I won't be back on until much later, so I hope everyone has a great day!

SandyC 04-01-2008 06:57 AM

SandyC 04-01-2008 06:59 AM

Finn, good luck on your appointment as well. I am such a dork...not only did I forget to do Jim's 24 hour urine, I gave him coffee with sugar this morning. Ugh, the doct is not going to taking me serious today. lol This is Jim's annual appointment.

weegot5kiz 04-01-2008 07:13 AM

so are u getting cogfog through osmosis, is that the right sci fi term?

can telling the doc about coffee will he be able to adjust for that sandy?

misshayleesmom 04-01-2008 07:27 AM

Hi everyoe,

Today i'll be heading out for the usual grocery shopping with Haylee, hopefully we will have no meltdowns.... fingers are crossed.

We are having her 8th birthday party this weekend, she is so excited.

We also have an appointment for her to see her pediatrician today regarding he ritalin.. it's not working for her.

She's not sleeping well so hopefully she can go off it.

It's raining her today and we're finally able to see some grass.
The snowbanks are still so tall but it feels like spring .. finally!

I've been looking into the gluten free casein free diet.. still not sure about that one. It seems like it would be tough to follow.
No dairy... dd will not like that she loves milk.

I guess that's all for now.... hope everyone has a good day.

weegot5kiz 04-01-2008 07:35 AM

hang in there mom, you have so many little corners to look into, gluten cornsyrup tolerance, like i mentioned maybe the ritalin side of meds isnt for her, maybe misdiagnosised, take it one day at a time try not to stress u know there is more here and u are trying that is half the battle so many folks dont figure it out till its too late. read some of those adhd books a lot of them dont find out till the kid has done some impulsive thing that is now a legal issue, so in that respect u are ahead of the rest education and persurverance are your best allies

barb02 04-01-2008 07:45 AM

Good luck everyone today (Sandy and Jim, Renee, Fin, Frank)with your appointments with doctors, tests, and court appearances. TK -- I am sorry you are having a rough time. Hope things start improving soon. (that is my lame attempt to catch up:o)

I'll be having a test also this morning. Ultrasound of gallbladder at 9:30. I have been experiencing some pain in the area of liver /gallbladder and some IBS stuff. Also the inner corner of each of my eyes is sort of a yellow tinged. (could have always been that way?) So yesterday I had to undergo a lovely exam by my doctor and have blood taken. It turns out that tysabri cannot only cause liver failure but also IBS sysmptoms and gallstones. Hopefully the results of the bloodwork and gallbladderw will be in before my scheduled ty infusion tomorrow. Then I am sure they will be scheduling a colonscopy next. I have to have one every 5 years and I should have scheduled that a few months ago.

I do not want to get off schedule if I can continue to take ty as I am going on vacation to Myrtle Beach the first week of May. Have already paid for the plane ticked and my share of the condo.

SandyC 04-01-2008 07:48 AM

I hope the test come out ok for your Barb. We are requesting a gastro doc today for Jim to get a colonoscopy.

Frank, the only tests the sugar will affect is the glucose and trigs. All of the other routine tests will be fine. They can simply put "non-fasting" on the tube. How do I know this? I worked in a lab for 13 years. :-)
