Just an FYI for everyone. Domestic postage goes up a little AGAIN on May 12th. Grrr. Guess they are feeling the gas crunch too.

Sun is shining, and I'm feeling a little better today. Think I ate something that didn't agree with me yesterday. ick. But it's all good now. We have some plans for later on, so hoping the coffee will kick in by then, lol

~~~~~~
Sandy, I know it's weird, but it is a federal offense to put stuff in people's mailboxes if you're not a postal person. Never quite sure how they would know anyways. :confused: If they mess up the mail, we hand deliver it to our neighbors so they get their stuff. Half the time they have our stuff too, so it works out.
Frank and Kay, Hope your uninvited guests leave soon so you guys feel better. :hug:
Renee, I've had a stone before and it wasn't fun. Hope it passes soon so you feel better. :hug:
SandyC 05-04-2008 10:01 AM
I know Fin. I almost started thinking "Holy crap! Someone may have seen me and think I stole their mail!" That is ridiculous. Worse part is no one returned our mail and I am sure some of Jim's meds were in it. I think I may call the cops after I speak to the post office again on Monday. If someone gets caught with Jim's meds or ends up in a hospital I don't want anyone thinking we sold it to them. This whole thing sucks. You try to be a good neighbor and get slapped for it. I only switched two mail boxes and they were the neighbors I am close to. Whew.
Vonn07 05-04-2008 03:00 PM
hey all ..
hope everyone is having a better sunday than saturday ... sorry to hear about the mail issue, Sandy! and those postal peops get paid a nice penny too ... and they can't even do their job!
I won a George Foreman grill at the 'gunless' turkey shoot with my american legion yesterday - and a 4pk of thick-cut pork chops .. well, of course, I grilled them! LOL now to find room for THAT!
have homework to do - so will stop by later to check up on you all .. BE GOOD!
NaeNae 05-04-2008 03:51 PM
Frank I'm screening away! In a pampered chef screener no less, I pee in style man! LOL
Still no stone but having a bit more pain today, I go back to the doctor on Tuesday. Lots of appointments over the next couple of weeks with the kids too.
Yummy Kayo I have a bagel with cream cheese every morning and I just ate a mango and you get them fresh off the tree! Made some mango salsa earlier gonna have it with some fish tacos tomorrow night I think!
Sandy I'll call ya laters!
CayoKay 05-04-2008 05:43 PM
Chuckie vs Sharon... the match is ON !!!
FinLady 05-05-2008 07:32 AM
Sandy, OMG :eek: Hope Jim's meds show up soon.
Renee, Sorry to hear about the pain. :hug:
Vonn, congrats on winning the grill. :winner_first_h4h:
~~~~~~~~

Happy Cinco De Mayo! :)

Yesterday was fun. Did a lot of running around. Then we came home and I went thud. :thud: But it was worth it, so can't complain too much.

Right now the sun is shining. Hoping for a good day today. Now where did I put that coffee? :D

NaeNae 05-05-2008 08:55 AM

Wiggled in bed all night from the stone pain, now homeschooling YAY we are almost done for the year!

SandyC 05-05-2008 09:44 AM

Well, I called the post office and they simply said "We will talk to the person today and they will be more cognizant. These things happen and you should get your mail today or soon." WTF? When I mentioned Jim's meds they said "How do we even know his meds were in that day? You know these things happen." I said "The whole block?" and she said "Yeah." ARGHHHH

AZjanie 05-05-2008 09:54 AM

Sandy I know what you are going through.

We live in a newer area of town and didn't have a regular postman so we just got subs. Some days we did not get mail until after 6:00pm!!

We met our neighbors by delivering their mail to them including a SS check to the lady across the street.

When Bills VA meds got "lost" that was the last straw.

We got together and took turns calling the city postmaster to complain which did no good so we called the state. Now we have a regular postman and we are getting our meds and mail!

Vonn07 05-05-2008 10:23 AM

sorry about the mail/meds Sandy ... hope today it will all come together for you and Jim ...

Renee - I know the feeling of tossing and turning ... I had a stupid dream that I passed the gas station at $3.59 because I still had a 1/4 tank left - but when I came back thru... it was $7.14 a gallon!! good thing it was only a dream, right??

good news (I hope) ... the lady from the SSDI/SSI called this morning to say that she was able to get my papers submitted - that she was able to get the info on the Vocational Rehab person ... and she received my signed medical records release .. now to WAIT for the federal people!

I asked her if she had a nice time off and a nice weekend .. and she did - then she asked me if I had .. .and I chuckled and said that I spent some time with friends on saturday - but I just couldn't wait to get home to peace and quiet ... and calm down .. I said that it's hard to describe and write down on paper .. but that I spend time at home because I don't get stressed out - she said that she understands ....

the sun is shining here too .. and maybe for more than ONE day .. and into the 50-60s ... perfect for me ... I'm tempted to plant some flower seeds and summer bulbs (gladdy's) ...

have a great day .. I did find my painting 'business plan' that I wrote back in 2005 .. now to re-write it and drop it off at the new bank guy that asked me to! :Writting:

FinLady 05-05-2008 10:57 AM

Vonn, Glad the SSDI people got everything. Hope things go through for you!

Renee, Kudos on almost getting through the school year! you've got one smart cookie there!

Sandy, I hear you about the postal stuff. :mad: It gets frustrating. Hope this stuff gets straightened out for ya.

weegot5kiz 05-05-2008 05:46 PM

Sandy it does happen, with new persons working for PO, or on that route. former employee here, it does and if someone doesnt pay attention, they can do a whole street, yeah you can dress us up in a uniform but it dont mean diddly, morons do seem to run rampant, through out the postal service, ironically the higher on up the food chain you go the lower the IQ, that is required, so yes theoretically a new born baby could be the Post master general(hope they get it corrected and the meds show up for Jim)

sorry about sharon, chucky seems to be on a hiatus, going back to nero the nuero on weds, cause i cancelled cause of the flu last week, something has to give here.

hopefully everyone has a good day

did some yard work today and hurt lol yeah duh

NaeNae 05-05-2008 08:07 PM

OMGGGGGGG the stone is either on the move or something but I have been screaming all evening with super sharp stabbing pains GRRR thankfully I go back to the doc tomorrow!

SandyC 05-05-2008 08:25 PM

Renee, are you sure it's supposed to hurt that bad?

FinLady 05-06-2008 08:19 AM

Renee, :hug::hug: Hun, hope you are feeling better. Prayers being sent.

~~~~~~
Woke up a little later than usual, but so far so good. Coffee in hand and the sun is shining. knocking on wood that today will go well. Or at least better than yesterday. ;)
tkrik 05-06-2008 08:38 AM
Hi everyone! Sorry I haven't posted in a few days. It is my busy time with work so I spent the past 2 days typing away.
We're supposed to have cooler temps today so the timing of work and the weather is perfect. 80 degrees today! (That is a cooling trend. LOL).
Renee, Frank, & Kay - Hope you all start feeling better soon.
Sandy - That really bites! I hope you get the meds soon and everything works out.
Vonn - That's great about the SSDI paperwork!
Fin - Positive thinking - It will be a better day!
Vonn07 05-06-2008 08:37 PM
hello all ... it's me .. I have a new dilemma .. not new, just rebirthed ...
::update::
this afternoon, I was out in my yard - working minimally on 'sprucing' up after spring .. and finally a NICE day ...
oops - to back you up: received an email today (sent last night) from my landlady... now, remember - I'm still WAITING for assistance from the county about helping with the rent ... and nothing yet (I'm 'on a list') ... anyways, she emailed me about 'hounding' them to do something ...
okay - back to this afternoon ... anyways - she's decided to not re-lease 6 trailer lots that are mostly just summer people - but still pay a full year lot rent and are quiet and nice and clean yards .. mostly because they aren't up north that much.
she is wanting to 'build' condos on the lake edge ... and rent them out ... she feels that she will make millions!!
here's the dilemma: :Soapbox:while I was outside - she walked by my place with 2 guys (I'm thinking they were the builders) ... I was politely minding my own business, when one of the guys said 'hello' ... and I responded with a nice greeting back - then the other guy said hello ... and Linda - kept on walking and didn't even acknowledge me.
but as she walked by - she never looked back at me ... and I didn't want to interrupt her 'business' meeting ...
okay - rant over .. all I want to do is get out of here :sad-dollar:... what can I legally do to get out of here??... and just leave ..:Dunno:
weegot5kiz 05-06-2008 10:35 PM
sorry vonn, I wont say anything about a well placed match:yikes:
Finn am sorry to here you is down hang in there may tomorrow be a nice day for you
Cayo glad sharon left, lets just hope her and chucky dont spawn:holysheep:
NaeNae 05-07-2008 04:00 AM
LOL just what you need Sandy another pet! I'm sure your mom will love that one! Sorry I have been going incognito,didn't post at all yesterday I just had too much to do I have a busy next two weeks coming up.
First I woke up it is now 445 AM because I felt something crawling on me...UGH a tick! I have a serious spider phobia and ticks are number two! So no going back to sleep for me! The ticks are really bad here already.
Went to my doctor this morning like I got great care HA! she was all well I don't think you need to see a urologist, kidney stones are really painful they sometimes take weeks to pass, yours is small blah blah...now for the funny part...someone is lying I don't know who! She wouldn't show me my CT report but the ER doc said my kidney stone was in my left ureter, she said it wasn't in my ureter it was in my kidney...who do I believe the super sweet ER doc? Or the woman who is my PCM I haven't been able to get into for months? Then she treated me like a pill popping dopehead for even suggesting she refill my sleeping pills! Saying you know they are supposed to be temporary right? They are addictive, how often do you take them, so I told her usually 3-4 nights a week after all she gave me 90 pills in January and I still have about 2 weeks worth left,she said so you're taking them every night right? I said NO I SAID 3-4 times do the math from Jan to May lady! Then wanted to know who my neuro was and still thought I was on Rebif...nevermind i told her they had changed me to Ty 4 1/2 months ago! Then shes all well spell that I have never heard of that I am going to have to see what that is GRRRRRRRRR! I am so glad we are moving! To be such a large base the medical care here stinks!
OK rant over!!!
LOL yall have a wonderful day...going to go post on Sandy's snake thread!
FinLady 05-07-2008 07:56 AM
Good morning all :) Rain is a comin' sometime today for my neck of the woods. OK with me. Feeling not so hot these days, but I keep on a truckin'. ;)
~~~~~

Renee, Sorry to hear about the visit with the doc. Definitely needs to keep better notes. By the sounds of it, I think the location the stone was in per ER doc is causing the pain you're having. I hope it clears up soon. But if the pain gets really intolerable, I'd go back to the ER to make sure it's still ok. :hug:

Vonn, Sorry to hear about the snub by your landlady. I really hope things work out for ya soon, hun. you deserve a break. :hug:

Sandy and Jim, Love the pic of you guys with the snake. :cool:

:grouphug::grouphug: to everyone.

tkrik 05-07-2008 08:47 AM

Frank - The stone is a 4 carat diamond that Renee is trying to pass. LOL. Of course I am sure that is what it feels like to Renee. Glad Chucky is on a vacation. Let's hope it's a permanent vacation.

Hi Kay - How's the farm and move going?

Vonn - That was so rude of your landlady. I am sorry she treated you that way and I hope you can find something else soon.

Renee - UGH! Double UGH! How frustrating for you. I hope this thing passes soon. I would also get a copy of your medical record from both the ER and your PCM, review it, and should there be a discrepancy or that you do have a stone bring it to someone at the base medical care center so that you can get better treatment. Fin is right, it the pain gets that bad, go to the ER again.

Fin - What are you going to do on your day off? Hopefully something fun like another painting.:cool: Enjoy the day.

No updates here. Life just keeps moving forward even though my body doesn't want that today. LOL.

Hi everyone else that I may have missed.

Have a great day everyone!

soxmom 05-07-2008 10:25 AM

Ewwwww. Sorry about the tick problem Renee. I can understand your
pain. I had to pull one out of my sons scalp the other day. Im usually
pretty good at my tick checks but, I missed this one.:(

But frankly, I dont want to be bathing my kids in deet either. So
tick checks it is.

Good luck and :hug:s

FinLady 05-07-2008 10:55 AM

TK, Thanks but the stubborn one is going to work, LOL. ;)

Just relaxing beforehand right now. It's mainly that I'm number than usual, which makes things fun sometimes. Add in a little muscle fatigue, and voila! - you have the blahs.

SandyC 05-07-2008 11:00 AM

Renee, I think your primary is a flake and I am glad your moving too. How about calling your neuro and letting him prescribe your meds? I remember Jim going through the "you acting like a "drug addict" routine and it was so frustrating! This was with his old neuro but now that we have a new one plus the spinal doc it's all good. They work well together. It sounds like your doctors have no clue and do not communicate very well.

Personally every ms patient should see a urologist since bladder issues are the norm. Jim sees the urologist whenever he requests one. He has seen urologists since he was dx'd so this is all so strange to me.

I will say a prayer that you get taken care of. It may be time to file formal complaints and contact your local senator or hospital administration about the care your receiving. Call me when you get a chance OK?

UPDATE: Finishing off the last of the laundry and watching the rain fall. Maybe taking off the snake picture since it's freaking people out! lol

Everyone have a great day!

love2laugh 05-07-2008 11:26 AM

Renee---
I can so empathize with your situation. I am also a military spouse and am currentlly dealing with the same woes of in terms of pcp's (don't ya love how long it takes to get into touch with--much less a visit-- with your pcp and that u usually end up seeing a different doctor each time :rolleyes: ); "different" interpretations of tests results, being shuffled from person to person-- and almost having to be to see specialists, meds and all sorts of things.....

My suggestion is to see if the doctor you see/trust most can prescribe your meds-- or at least the majority of them. My neurologist prescribes the majority of my medications; and my pcp prescribes the "easy" ones such as my allergy meds and a few other meds that my neuro doesnt want to monitor (such as my apetite stimulant) or is completely un neuro related. Occasionally my other specialists will prescribe meds-- but they are usually not long term ones; generally speaking, my neuro is in charge of most of my meds. It just works out better that way.

Another suggestion: go to the radiology department and request a copy of your CT scan--- both the disk and the report. I always request copies of all diagnostic tests (x-rays/lab work, etc) as soon as they become avaliable AND visit notes when the doctor finishes writing them and entering them into the computer. It's a way I keep tabs on things-- making sure I know the test results-- the radiologists interpretation; and exactly what went on during my dr visits so I can ask questions or get things corrected if I have concerns.....

Good Luck !

Btw-- to everyone else-- I apologize for jumping into the conversation without much introduction (i do post from time to time on other threads)--- this post just caught my eye today.

:) L2L

:D:p:D

we're busy building a new NURSERY for our chickie and duckie babies:

http://img375.imageshack.us/img375/6209/dscn5110yh2.jpg

we ran out of stored rainwater (long story, pipe broke) and 'delivered water' is too expensive.

at this moment there's only an INCH left in the cistern, and both storage tanks are EMPTY.

water is only for emergencies at this point, and I'm bathing with BABY WIPES.

I need a shower DESPERATELY, and the dishes and laundry are PILING UP !!

so, we're is digging a trench, and mi esposo is working on plumbing, and Belize Water Systems will be here "soon" to connect us up to the village water pipes.

we wanted to be *independent* but it hasn't RAINED since a bit in January...

also we're rushing the clock on the enclosure, trying to finish THAT before more babies hatch, and get "disappeared"

:eek:

there's just too much needing to be done (we're 90% moved... and the last 10% is driving me BATS!)

another dresser is being delivered "soon" and the cabinet guy will be finished with our kitchen shelves this weekend.

company's coming, in several waves, starting this weekend, and the place is a mess.

the darn bidet LEAKED all over the floor... (broken fitting - cheap carp)

and I've got preggers bun-wuns and guin-wins that need extra attention.

and two of the bunnies got seriously into a fight, and one's injured...

I carried over 5 drawers-full of clothes yesterday, and after THAT, I needed a 3-hour NAP, lol!

I need some :grouphug::hug::grouphug:

tkrik 05-07-2008 12:44 PM

Dang Kay! :hug: I don't know if I'm sorry I asked or glad I asked (LOL). . . .I'm glad I asked. You got it all out of your system and hopefully feel a little better.

Maybe some of the company can help out with everything. Hang in there.

SandyC 05-07-2008 12:47 PM

I don't know about anyone else but Kay you make me tired. lol

CayoKay 05-07-2008 01:29 PM

okaaaaaaaay!

got the drawers sorted, and all the clothes refolded and put away.

got a babywipe bath, collected the eggs (22 !!) fed everyone, and am now sweeping the floor between rests at the computer.

http://img394.imageshack.us/img394/2104/dscn5076uj6.jpg
yesterday's haul!

it's all actually going WELL, TK, and I am pleased, if tired.

thanks for letting me whine a wee bit.

:wink:

lol, YOU should talk, San !!

I'd collapse if I did HALF what you do!

:hug:

Vonn07 05-07-2008 02:01 PM

thanks, everyone :Thanx: ... your thoughts and comments were read after I thought and thought about it ... and around 6am this morning - decided, what do *I* want?? not who will get mad, who will say I should do this or that .. blah blah blah :Talkative:

I'z gotz lotz of work to do ... I rather read Kay's endeavors - they are more interesting than what I'm doing!!

OH ... yes - decided to move back to Beaver Dam ... got some awesome support there from friends - that want me in their life ... I have lots of friends, but I always feel like I'm 'in the way' ... because it's 'just me' .. not a couple (does that make sense)??

I gotta lean on yous while I do this - and keep it hush-hush around here .. they all think I'll be staying here .. but I can't handle the heat or living in the tin-condo another summer ... and the new place .. CENTRAL AIR ... w/washer and dryer and all appliances (dishwasher and mike) ... sounds like alot for me and then I think of Kay and worry about how she's going thru all of this with the farm!! ...

Sandy - I LOVE the snake pix!! ... when you look *fast* at Kay's pic of the cage for her brood ... doesn't it look like a humongous snake in the foreground??

Frank!! where the heck is Frank??

Tricia - keep sending that warm weather our way ... we just had rain and sent it over to Jenn in Ohio ... Sandy had it first ..

sorry about your discomfort, Renee ... if you have 'coffee' filters would be less expensive ... and they would help with the stone catching...

p.s. ... nothing is every easy or *works* for me .. so, I'm just going to wing-it and get outta here ... :OuttaHere:

SandyC 05-07-2008 02:23 PM

Vonn, oh my! Yes it does look like a huge boa or something! lol

Kay, you have me beat hands down girl. Taking care of Jim and this house doesn't compare to taking care of the things you do, not to mention dodging critters of the poisonous type.

weegot5kiz 05-07-2008 02:26 PM

hi everyone how yall doing, me i am going to go stay at hospital for a few days till i get better got pnuemonia, woooooo hoooooo

see you all in a few days

SandyC 05-07-2008 02:27 PM

Oh Frank! I am on my knees praying you'll get better fast. I know you hate the hospital but it's the best place to be for meds. Ask if they have internet!

Vonn07 05-07-2008 02:33 PM

FRANK! FRANK!

can't be getting sick on us:eek: - we need your testosterone inputs! (can I say that word??) .. I didn't want to say 'male influence' ... sounds like a red-light district then or something ..

GET BETTER FRANK-ola!!

CayoKay 05-07-2008 05:15 PM

oh, Frank, PLEASE get better soon!

like Vonny said, we need your balance, and sense of humour.

my prayers are winging their way heavenwards for you.

:grouphug:

tkrik 05-07-2008 05:18 PM

Frank - Saying my prayers for you that you recovery quickly and are back home soon.

Vonn - Oh my word! You certainly have a lot going on. Take the risk, make the move, and see what happens. We are all here to help you through this.

Kay & Sandy - After reading all that you do, I had to take a 2 hour nap. LOL.
