Cayo - Glad you are starting to settle in a bit. Follow-through can be done with careful planning and tactics. But we won't go in to that here.

What happened with all these UTI's? I have only had 1 in my life and hope to never have one again. I do drink a lot of cranberry juice everyday. Urologist said I could go on meds to help me empty but where I am at right now it is not necessary. I opted out of the meds as I am trying to stay on the minimum amount of meds possible. We are going to wait until I absolutely need them.

Take care all of you!

barb02 04-30-2008 05:12 PM

TK -- saw your other thread. I hope you can stay awake tonight. I often have insomna, but If I was told I had to stay awake I would probably be out. Good luck with your test.

Kay and Renee -- I actually have never had an UTI, but have been tested for them 3 times this year due to bladder urgency issues. Hope yours go away soon.

Frank -- glad your arm is feeling better

Sandy -- tried smiling at the mirror. Now I need to go see if it is cracked:eek:

Not much is going on here. My student did a good job in defending her thesis this morning. I gave her a mug as a graduation present that says, "Smart women elect to make a difference." She is going to law school at Southern Illinois in the fall.

Starting to pack for my trip. Nausea seems to be going away.:D

Vonn07 04-30-2008 05:29 PM

thanks, Frank .. I like those 'oldy goldy' book ideas .. I was even thinking about the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe series ... and Wrinkle in Time, and Wind in the Door ..

when do I sleep? don't .. up every 2-3 hours ... even take tylonel PM ... doesn't pay to call the neuro anymore about all these new symptoms and issues .. no money no insurance ... and they have no answers anyways and just say 'well, just take it one day at a time' and 'listen to your body' ...

had a laugh today - got a card from Shared Solutions .. congratulating me on one year of therapy .. it says to go out and celebrate my achievement ... hmmm ...

oh, Kay ... when a recruit responds to their drill (sgt) ... only in the marines do they call a non-combat officer/sergeant sir .. don't ask me why .. . when I was in service, my command response was: "YES, DRILL SERGEANT" .. if we said 'sir' ... we had to drop and do push-ups ...

when I got gas today - one guy asked me what my license plate stood for "LTHS4ME" ... and I said Lighthouse for me ... I'm going to build one ... he was quite impressed ...

now, to find LAND ... will have to check with the county for any deliquent property tax payments ... it's going to happen ... because, well, uh .... I can barely walk ... it's an EVERYDAY issue lately ... sorry I didn't say anything earlier ...

BUT, I got an A and a B in my last 2 courses!! woo hoo!!

weegot5kiz 04-30-2008 06:36 PM

good going on the grades Vonn, how bad is the walking issue? is this with the help of a walker or cane? or without any aid?, have you looked into state asst for medical Vonn?, please dont over do it:hug:

and i like your choice in books narnia series is entertaining

1. Congrats Vonn on the grades!!

2. Awww, be nice to Kay. She was trying so hard. She can call me sir or sgt sir if she wants. It's not like I am there to see her to push ups or anything. :p

CayoKay 04-30-2008 07:38 PM

reporting for push-ups, sir!

and a-one and a-two and a-OOOF... (grunt... exhale... collapse)

good thing, sir, as I can't even do THREE of 'em!

hugss all, sarah

FinLady 05-01-2008 07:06 AM

Good morning all :) The sun is shining and I am slowly waking up. Last night was a "lump" night. Curled up on the couch with a good book.

Was reading through the posts, and you guys cracked me up! :D I needed the laugh.

I gave a two week notice, which is why I'm still trudging along. I'm really praying she finds someone who can help her out. She's such a neat lady.

Have a great day everyone! :grouphug:

tkrik 05-01-2008 07:32 AM

*dragging my fingers in here* Good morning everyone! I'm barely awake. I can't have my cup of coffee either.

Sarah - Thanks for popping in and letting us know that you are OK.

Fin - It's so hard to leave isn't it. The reason is not a normal reason why we leave jobs and I think that makes it harder. In the long run, I think you made a good decision.

Frank - Thanks for the well wishes. I let you know how it went afterwards (and after a serious nap too, LOL).

Hope you all have a great day!

Vonn07 05-01-2008 10:03 AM

Hey Sandy - I had to pick on :Poke:Kay ... she's down below enjoying lager in her hammock while we're still up here waiting for ONE 70s day ... :sunchair:

thanks, Frank ... still working on the idea .. have lots to do yet before that (like work ... no MAKE ... a garden/wildflowers) ... but, they need some good parental lessons... like respect for others things, etc ...

have homework this week ... and still cleaning ... took 3 bags of garbage over to the farm yesterday ... and it doesn't seem that I've made a dent ..

uh, about the pain ... it's in my left waist area - so when I sit, I hurt - then when I go to stand up ... um, I'm still bent in half and have to slowly stand up straight ... and then move ... sure is a slap to my 'run-run' daily routine! LOL ... I'm okay - just one day at a time ... and now it's all the time (does that make sense?)

Tricia .. what did I miss?? are you okay??:Oops:

did Renee go over to the beach and forgot about us??:hissyfit:

hey Sarah .. hmm - guess I'll have to make an appointment to squeeze into your busy schedule! :Crowded:

NaeNae 05-01-2008 11:57 AM

Beach Smeach! I can't stop peeing my pants long enough to go anywhere! :hissyfit:

I really need to see a urologist this is freakin crazy but wait my PCM has to refer me to a urologist and I can't get in to see her! :deadhorsebeat:

SandyC 05-01-2008 12:08 PM

Renee, I say walk in, let the pee roll down your leg onto the floor and ask, with a smile, if it is possible to see some freakin person, anyone, you'll take the freakin receptionist if she knows how to use a dip stick. :rolleyes:

CayoKay 05-01-2008 12:17 PM

mine's goin' the *other* way, NaeNae...

I keep feelin' like I GOTTA, but then... not much results...

:(

Vonn07 05-01-2008 12:17 PM

help help ... I screwed up ... I didn't send in my SSDI appeal within 60 days ... I thought I had until the end of april ... but it was the 20th . ... so now the lady has called me and they want to know WHY I didn't fill it in within 60 days ... what do I say??

do I tell them that I was looking for a miracle and thought I could get a REAL job to pay my bills???

do I tell them that I was hoping I'd be dead so I didn't have to refill out more freekin paperwork???

but she's already gone for the day today ... left at 11 ...

thanks!!

barb02 05-01-2008 03:31 PM

Just thought I would let you all know I will not be around for about 10 days. I am leaving tomorrow for the beach. I am still not feeling great, but I am hoping the sea air will help.:)

Vonn, explain to them that with ms sometimes you do forget things and that you are so very sorry. THEN send the papers asap to them.

FinLady 05-01-2008 10:30 PM

Vonn, I agree with what Sandy said. Hope you get this cleared up soon. :hug:

Barb, hope the vacation helps ya, hun. :hug:

Renee, :Bang-Head: Hate that jumping through hoops thing too. Hope you get help soon.

~~~~
Just wanted to check in real quick. Hubby and I went to dinner and a movie tonight. We went and saw Ironman. It was pretty good. We were both big Marvel comic fans when we were younger, so it was something we both enjoyed a lot.
Now to sleep 'cuz I'm wiped out. :Slip:
NaeNae 05-02-2008 09:07 AM
Well I took Sandy's advice and walked in which ended up being the 8 hour tour because then I got sent to the hospital and to a CT scan because by then I was bawling and guess what.......I have a kidney stone! So....got pain meds,two liters of fluid and an appointment in a week with a urologist to see if the little bugger has passed...now for the question how do you strain your urine when you are peeing your pants!
Vonn- I turned mine in wayyyy late I just sent them a letter stating the reason ( I was in the middle of an international move) and they sent me a letter back saying they accepted my reasoning and scheduled me a hearing.
Vonn07 05-02-2008 09:36 AM
thanks ...
I did call her back and left a message and said that I was just depressed and forgot ... and in her message - she's out until monday (another 5 days!) duh!
OH - she had called back a second time to say that she has received all my paperwork and said that it all looks good - she just needs the name of the vocational rehab counselor I went to see .. and a medical release form signed .. so when I left the message - I said that I didn't know Amy's last name and I thought I sent a signed release form back. so MAYBE - I explained enough all about my sx that made sense, so she was calling to 'tie up some lose ends' ...and send it on!
I think I'm experiencing an MS hug ... like someone sitting on me and won't get off ... on my left side (hope it's not shingles again!) this has been going on for 3 days ...
Renee - glad they found the stone .. .OUCH!!
p.s. maybe the extra tidbit I wrote on the last page of the SSDI form really hit home - MAYBE ... we shall see ..
thanks everyone for listening!!
SandyC 05-02-2008 10:11 AM
Renee, I am thinking check your undies when you have an accident? Maybe try a pad and see if it catches in there?
My update:
It's raining so no outside work today. We went shopping yesterday and bought groceries and a few plants. OMYGAWD, Walmart is getting expensive! But, they had plenty of rice and flour on the shelves. I expected them to be empty. I'll probably just finish up laundry today and chill out.
Contest update: I didn't win the contest, but it doesn't matter because I already won.
tkrik 05-02-2008 11:23 AM
Barb - Have a great time! We want all the details of the cabana boys when you get back. LOL.
Vonn - Sorry about all the mess. The "said" they didn't get my paperwork and it miraculously appeared a few days later. Imagine that. LOL. Hopefully everything will go quickly for you now and you will get approved SOON! It does take a lot of stress off of you when you finally get approved. Things are still tight but you will have some breathing room.
Renee - Sorry to hear about the kidney stone. No wonder you have been so miserable. I hope it passes with a minimal amount of pain. I am glad you went in.
Fin - How fun! You had a date night with DH. That's great. DBF and I used to do that once a week. I miss that!!! But with this dang rental house of his it will be a while before we do that again.
Sandy - You're right, you did win. Who needs a $1,000 shopping spree anyhow. LOL. Seriously, the love for you that your son expressed is worth far more.
Kay - How's the move going?
~~~~
This morning was clean the bathroom morning. It looks so nice a pretty.:) I also put the last coat of primer on the canvas for DBF's painting. Once that is dry I will start working on it (tomorrow or Sunday).

EEG went fine yesterday. I had absolutely no problem falling asleep for the test and therefore, the test went quickly. I was actually kind of irritated when she came in and woke me up.:mad::D I wanted to keep sleeping and I asked her if I could. LOL. I won't get the results until next week. Dang it all! That means 1 more week of dependency on others as well as major hermititis.

Vonn07 05-02-2008 05:25 PM

hey all ...

hopefully this is a GOOD sign ... I received a letter from the lady that called and she marked the whole page off (not to concern myself about) ... and on the bottom: Additional information -

I left a couple of messages on your answering machine. The first one about good cause you can ignore. However, I do need you to call me as soon as you can so that I can "tidy-up" your online medical report form. Appears to be 2 issues I need to address.

Then she had a medical form in the envelope to sign (w/witness) and return to her .. got that done and going out tomorrow.

I hope I can breathe ... and when it's approved ... should go back to August of last year (I would hope - otherwise even back to January would be okay) ... ANYTHING!

thanks for letting me ramble ... and it's not a 'hug' because it's off on my left side and back around my waist that keeps me from standing up straight or sitting in pain (no happy ground!) LOL ... one more day one more day!

AZjanie 05-02-2008 05:46 PM

Did I tell you that your my favorite? ;)

FinLady 05-03-2008 02:38 PM

:grouphug:

Just having a so so day. I'm wiped out from the past week and been feeling blah.

Might swing by the Y today to check it out. Maybe sign up for some water aerobics here soon. It was raining this morning, but the sun's coming out :)

Hope everyone has a great day!

SandyC 05-03-2008 03:59 PM

Hi all! having an OK weekend here. The mail on my block was completely screwed up. I have no mail at all and the neighbors are missing mail. I called to complain and was rudely told not to touch the mail. WTF? I am trying to be a good neighbor and put their mail in their box and that's a crime? I go to place the mail in my neighbors box and they have someone else's mail and so on and so on. ARGHHHH, just give me my mail!!!

Other than that Jim is feeling blah today too and crabby. Yeah! Two crabby people are not good in the same house. lol

Hey Frank? Are you and your wife coming to the Illinois get together? Jim and I are going.

NaeNae 05-03-2008 04:14 PM

Ok Sandy I am glad you said your mail was screwed up because I got your package back in the mail today with a stamp that said undeliverable???? WTF?? So it is going back out Monday!

Still holding onto the stone it doesn't seem to want to relocate GRRRRR!

Played or rather sat and watched while my daughter and two neighbor girls played in a huge bucket of water in front of my garage for the past 3 hours! Dayton is across the street playing games with the boys. Plus I went to the bookstore and spent over 200 bucks! :eek:

SandyC 05-03-2008 06:55 PM

Renee, did you use the right addy? OMG, if I find out we have a new post person and they are screwing up this badly I will be ******. Jim's meds are always coming here daily. Great, someone probably just hooked up on valium or something. :rolleyes:

You haven't passed that stone yet? My uncle passed one that was the size of a pepper seed, really small. He also said it hurt like heck coming out. :eek:

NaeNae 05-03-2008 09:19 PM

Nope no stone yet and I am waterlogged!!! I have drank more water in the past three days than in the past three months!

yes I sent it to the right addy...the one I have for you anyway and you have always gotten my cards and stuff!

CayoKay 05-03-2008 10:47 PM

still sayin' prayers for you, NaeNae...

hang in there, honey!

Finny, sorry you had a blah day.

mine was kinda blah too... this left ankle thing... still draggin' on and on... and I'm still needing the brace and the AFO... and limping-gimping along.

oh, and I had a gnarly bout of TN this evening... this time in the left cheekbone.

I call it "Sharon-Stone-With-An-Icepick-Comes-To-Visit"

on the postive-news-front, mah schweetie made a big ol' batch of BAGELS today, half dusted with poppy seeds and the other half with sesame seeds... yum, yum, YUM.

one was just brought to me, warm, with cream cheese... I'm swooning!

it was quite an ordeal for him... our village shops have been out of flour for a WEEK, so he was happy to score some in town yesterday.

the end of the month brings us half-a-dozen visitors from the US and Canada... and the place looks like carp... 'cause all my energy has been going towards packing, moving, and unpacking, and the trees are dropping leaves... but I'm too tired to rake 'em up... it's exciting, but a bit wracking, 'cause I want the place to look its best, but don't want to over-do it, and wonder where I'll find the energy... so it's a fine line I tread...

other good news... the MANGOES are starting to come in... and I saw a pair of VERY happy Agoutis nibbling on the fallen ones this morning.

ALSO... some renegade lady duck has made a nest that I cannot FIND somewhere in the brush... but I DID find two healthy new baby ducklings paddling around the pond today... oh joy, oh rapture... there's nothing like it to warm the heart!

alas, no pix, my camera battery's recharging... and it's barely holding a charge nowadays... I think I may need a NEW one, but that particular one is VERY difficult to find here in the jungle... anybody wanna send me one from the US?

*hint hint* it says RCR-V3 3-Volt on the side...

:grouphug::hug::grouphug:
