Hi everyone! Just sitting here counting down the days until work is done. :) I think my hubby is more excited than I am, LOL. Everyone tells me it's about time I do something good for myself, but it's still a weird thing to wrap my head around. :rolleyes:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Frank, Sorry to hear about the hospital trip. Hope you feel better soon. :hug:
Vonn, A move closer to a support network is probably just the thing ya need. But I understand the single/couple odd ball feeling. I'm sure they don't mind tho.
Kay, What a project! Hope things get better for ya, water wise. Thanks for the pics.
ah, you're sweet, but my little annoyances aren't any worse than those of northern climes, just different.
on the plus side, I haven't had to shovel SNOW in 3 winters.
haven't had to put on TIRE chains once!
haven't had my PIPES freeze, or BURST!
haven't had to scrape ICE offa my windshield!
haven't had snow blow down my power poles.
no RAINS of ashes from nearby wildfires... no sirens, no traffic, and no hustle-bustle.
no tornadoes, no sandstorms, no flooding... and best of all, no BUSH.
well, it's after 4:20, and not in a GOOD way, either!
they didn't come to hook up the water, and now it's so late, it means they won't be comin' today.
:(:mad::(
even though we DID manage to get everything at OUR end completed and ready...
so, it'll be another baby-wipe bath for Kay tomorrow!
geez, I wish it'd RAIN around here.
my POND looks like a Peas Porridge PUDDLE !!
GET WELL SOON FRANK!!! WE LOVE YOU!!!!
FinLady 05-08-2008 08:10 AM
Good Morning all :) Still a little off, but emotionally better. Had a good time watching a movie with hubby last night.
Now watching the dreary sky outside and hoping my coffee wakes me up here soon. Hubby came up to me a little while ago and told me that coffee stays hot longer if you put the pot back in the coffeemaker. LOL, apparently I left it right in front of it. :D
Hurry up, coffee :D
I'm glad that everyone is SO smart and wise!! all input is taken, measured and shaken ...
my friends in BD were the ones that really 'talked' their walk ... when I asked for help last year, they were the first to help out with $$ .. and now I wish I would of left then ... and not went thru last summer here - but that didn't happen and I learned that I can't handle the heat very well and fell so far behind on my runners and projects ..
I'm not rushing things - but am downsizing more and cleaning the best I can .. I have a feeling that my landlady is waiting for just the right time to drop the bombshell on me that she didn't renew my lease (in fact - I should of received something back in March .. still nothing) ..
found out that she sold 250ft of lake frontage to build condos ... uh, between 275-300,000 per unit ... starting with 2 units now ... and they (builders) are now interested with property across the road .. that's where I am! no one wants to stay - found out that some friends didn't renew their lease either! and those that did, said they'll stay for one more year and then they are out ..
sorry that I ramble on ... there's no one that I can talk to as a human being that will be straight with me up here ...
***UPDATE***
while I was lying in bed (okay, on the loveseat - where I've slept since Sept) ... I smiled about moving ... I would be closer to my painting instructor ... I wish I could post what I've done .. but I don't know how ... let's see - I'll try:
okay .. this one is when I was a HOG member in Beaver Dam - this is all hand-lettered ... and sketched .. the finished size is 4ft x 4ft .. whatcha think?
FinLady 05-08-2008 10:58 AM
Vonn, sounds like your landlady is a piece of work with all those people leaving. Getting out sounds like a very good thing.
Like the sketch. Pretty cool. :cool:
NaeNae 05-08-2008 10:58 AM
hey all had a neurosurgery appt with Dayton this morning so they could check his noggin out...it's still intact LOL! Dummy me though I am so used to bringing MY MRI's that I brought mine and not Daytons! I prolly won't be on this weekend will know for sure tomorrow, I think we are going to South Carolina for the weekend!
SandyC 05-08-2008 11:07 AM
Going to look at that house Renee?
NaeNae 05-08-2008 01:16 PM
Nope another one it already sold but I like the other one better!
here it is
http://www.realtor.com/search/listin...07&sid=#Detail
SandyC 05-08-2008 01:20 PM
Renee, that is so pretty!
tkrik 05-08-2008 02:21 PM
Vonn - I am praying for a speedy move for you. I hope things work out. Thanks for posting the pic. You did a great job with it.
Renee - How are you feeling? I like the house. It's huge and well priced! Man, I'm going to move there. LOL.
Fin - LOL. I have done that sort of thing with the coffee too. In fact, I have started the coffee without the pot on the burner!!! LOL. Coffee went everywhere. I hope you were finally able to wake up a bit.
Kay - Thanks for the pic. I hope that today they are there hooking you up with water.
I hope everyone has a good day!
Vonn07 05-08-2008 04:01 PM
Hey Renee .. that is an awesome home .. .I could move in - and you probably wouldn't be able to find me for days, maybe weeks! I'd get lost!!
guess after living in the tin-condo - anything larger than 12x50 amazes me (please realize - it doesn't take much to entertain me either!)
thanks, Tricia - I'm already figuring out how to move everything back over to the storage unit ... so when I'm ready - just load up at the unit and fly outta here!
made grilled cheese on my GF grill .... wah - awesome! okay - off to school for me! later gators ...
btw .. what do you think of the name: The Quilted Butterfly: Art & Gift Gallery? a new start, a new name ...and I can incorporate my quilting and my painting ... (the non-profit is still something seperate) ... the business would be something for ME to make $$ .. I'm rewriting my business plan to drop off at the bank tomorrow (not telling him about the move) .. and seeing that he's seen my REAL life size artwork .. I may get enough of a loan to do this!!
SandyC 05-08-2008 04:07 PM
Vonn, good luck with the new business. I am a little confused though. If you apply for SSDI doesn't that mean you can't work? Wont they frown on that and assume you can work? I am just asking to understand. ;-)
NaeNae 05-08-2008 04:41 PM
Well not going to SC this weekend GRRRRR apparently the dadblastin NASCAR Darlington race is this weekend, we can't find a hotel or B&B within a 2 hour drive!
TKRIK-feeling a little better but haven't seen a stone yet!
Vonn07 05-08-2008 06:15 PM
hey, Sandy - I guess ... I'm thinking I have to do something - right now, I have nothing .. and being in business is one of those 'silent' vocational rehab programs that they don't advertise when applying for assistance ...
I can work - but on my own schedule ... basically I'm looking at setting up a website and doing shows .. not making mills ... and I can make up to around $32,000 without losing any benefits ... right now, I have zero ...LOL
does this help?
weegot5kiz 05-08-2008 08:22 PM
prettypearlgirl 05-08-2008 10:33 PM
Hi Everyone!
There is no rest for the wicked, LOL!!! I hope everyone is doing well here. I have had not a moment to really get caught up on you all. My life is insane and I am running around like a lunatic. I thought being disabled meant that I got to rest, LOL!!!
I spent the day in Boston today to see my MS specialist. We went over my MRI's from last week and I have remained totally the same for the past four years since I went on LDN! Now how good is that;):D:D:cool:!!! My doc actually wants me to send her all the info I have on LDN and my suppliers (that makes me sound like a druggie, LOL) name so she can address LDN with some of her other MS patients. I am turning these docs into believers for sure!
On the train ride home, we had some excitement when the train hit some debris on the tracks that damaged some connection on the underside of the train. Man, you never saw a speeding train stop so fast:eek:. I was in the first car behind the engine and the bang was so loud I thought whatever it was the train hit, was going to come through the car! It scared the whole bunch of us. so we got delayed sitting on the tracks until they could fix whatever got broken. I was so tired when I finally pulled into the train station, but had to stop by my studio before finally crashing on the couch to watch Gray's Anatomy. Sure glad to get home and finally relax!
So, anybody doing anything exciting here lately??? I've been missing spending time here!!
Carolyn:hug:
Vonn07 05-08-2008 11:06 PM
Carolyn!! so good to see you!! how is your gallery going?? okay - I'm new to all this MS stuff... and I only know a tad bit about CRABs ... what is LDN??
**UPDATE**
I applied for a bookkeeping job - full-time permanent in Oconomowoc in the accts payable department .. starting at $31g... check out what it's about - it's legit! www.orp.com
it's helping individuals with disabilities in wisconsin ... and other states ... helping individuals with independent living! I sorta just did a search on the bookkeeper's site ... cool, huh??
yes - it would be a full-time job .. but heck - it even offers flex-time! guess I need to buck-up to the plate and try it out ... it would be in a new town - still close to friends ... and in a new area ... and NICE, really really nice area!
FinLady 05-09-2008 08:16 AM
Good morning all:) Have my normal cup of coffee, and yes - I did remember to put the pot back where it belonged. :D
Have a painting for my boss half done. Doing a kind of sunset thing. Hope I can convince hubby to take a pic before it goes to it's new home.
Hope everyone has a great day today.
~~~~~

Renee, like the pic of the house. Sorry to hear the race has everything booked up so you can't take the trip.

Frank, Thanks for the check in. Now get some rest while on the good pain meds. ;)

Vonn, Maybe the flex time will be helpful. It will take away from your appeal for ssdi since it's full time, but if you can handle the workload - I'm all for trying the new job. It sounds great! :)

Carolyn, So good to see you. How's the Studio going? Sounds like you are keeping busy. :)

tkrik 05-09-2008 09:18 AM

Good morning everyone! I hope you are all having a great day.

I got my freedom back yesterday so if I don't post much know that I am out driving somewhere. I don't know where. It will be errands of some sort as gas is too expensive to just go driving around for the shear joy of it.

*making up a list of silly and meaningless errands*

~~~
Frank - Enjoy the meds. Did you make that jailbreak last night? I do hope you start feeling better soon.:hug:
Renee - Dang! I was really hoping you would say it was a huge ruby! LOL. I am glad you are starting to feel somewhat better.
Vonn - The name sounds great. That way you can incorporate other works of art in to it, not only your own but others as well. I know a lady who makes incredible quilts. She has her own website and sell some of her quilts but she mostly wants to focus on selling her designs/patterns. (BTW - She is almost 80!). Good luck with it as well as with the possible bookkeeping job. Let us know how it works out.
Carolyn - It's great to see you post. What a ride!!!!! OMG! That is awesome about the LDN. Sounds like you are going to be their LDN poster woman.
Fin - Please post a picture of your painting when it is done. I'd love to see it. Unfortunately, I have not done much with the Harley painting I am doing for DBF. But when it is done I will have DD18 take a picture so I can post it. (I am not good at photographing pictures).
NaeNae 05-09-2008 09:28 AM
Was thinking last night I need to paint! I haven't painted a thing since the last one I showed yall!
Frank, want me to come drive the getaway car???? BTW Do the drugs rock?? LOL
Vonn-not sure but having occupational specialist reports and applying for disability and going thru all those motions seems kinda like a waste of time if you are planning on starting your own business and applying for jobs...that is so not gonna look good to anyone deciding to grant you disability. But if you CAN work instead of the disability thing then Great!!! I wish I could!!!!
Carolyn-Glad you decided to drop by and let us know the gallery hasn't killed you! Glad you got to Go to Boston though what drama you got to experience!
Congrats on the LDN working for you I know Lori used to swear by it. Keep in touch girly we worry when we don't hear from you in too long!
Wonder what kind of trouble Sandy is into today???? And lets not forget Kay...she's prolly putting in a new highway or something!!
Jenn you naughty thing you are rubbing off one me guess who left the coffee pot sitting on the stove this morning!
TK-I'm hoping for a fabulous black diamond!
SandyC 05-09-2008 10:51 AM
Frank, hurry home! Many here miss you.
Renee, any stones?
Vonn, thanks for helping me understand. I pray your new bookkeeping job comes through for you! How cool!
Carolyn, sheesh girl, that would have made me pee my pants! Thanks for checking in!
Jenn, I need to start painting again. I am afraid if I do right now everything will be gloomy with all that's going on with my mom...haha!
TK, don't let the knuckles get too white driving today! I am so happy for you. Remember when Jim was able to drive again? We don't talk about the bean field anymore but he was so proud and happy.
UPDATE: I have to finish laundry. I keep forgetting it. I wonder why?
FinLady 05-09-2008 10:55 AM
Renee, LOL! Sorry I rubbed off on you about the coffee pot. :D
Sandy, I didn't remember that you painted. That's cool! :cool: Sometimes gloomy is ok. Sometimes getting those feelings out is a good thing.
TK, enjoy the "me" time while running errands today. Hope it's nice in your neck of the woods so you can have the windows down while driving. :)
tkrik 05-09-2008 11:47 AM
Sandy - Gloomy can be ok. If you look at some paintings they are gloomy and dark yet beautiful. Also, think of your mom when you paint. Come up with a happy memory and paint from those feelings. Pick colors from that memory and just slap some paint around the canvas. No particular order or definition, just splat on to the canvas. The define it after the colors are on. You'd be surprised at what you will come up with as well as how relaxed you will feel afterwards.
FinLady 05-09-2008 05:30 PM
Talked to boss again today. My official last day is Wed. :Dancing-Chilli:
Got home and told hubby. He was sure I'd convince myself to stick around longer, lol. He's so happy I finally made the decision to take care of myself, it's contagious!
Have a great weekend all :)
NaeNae 05-09-2008 07:48 PM
No stones dangit! But I did get a really big batch of spasms today after preparing dinner for my family and two of the neighbors!
WOOOHOOOOO Jenn! Welcome to the crazy world of the formerly gainfully employed!
Vonn07 05-09-2008 09:40 PM
hey all ...
maybe it's just me - I'm trying to survive with no steady income ... and figure that I have to force my body to work and deal with the daily pain - not happy about it, but ... I have to have a better living condition and pay my bills and figure out the enormous debt now, thanks to this dx.
apparently, the "programs" that are out there are just words ... because it's hard - and I have to do this alone, didn't ask for it, didn't want it, or realize that I was going to deal with something like this. I'm tired of waiting and hoping. tired of trying.
excited for you, Jenn ... still hurt for you, Renee ... dusting off my paintbrushes, too - Tricia and Sandy!!
I'm good - patience isn't one of my better virtues .. sorry!
FinLady 05-10-2008 04:32 AM
Vonn, patience isn't one of my virtures either, lol. ;)
~~~~~~

I woke up at 5am, and have no idea why. :confused: A little tired still, but I am wide awake. actually debating whether to start coffee or if I should try to see if I can sink back into sleep -LOL.

SandyC 05-10-2008 10:57 AM

Good morning NT Insight's! How is everyone doing today? We are doing pretty good. DANG IT though, I think Jim's has another UTI. Sheesh, what are we going to do about this? Renee, he's having very stiff legs and spasms too. I think his are directly related to the new UTI. We're going in Tuesday to drop off his Creatinine Clearance so we'll drop off a UA too. UGH

Vonn07 05-10-2008 01:03 PM

lunch anyone?

I'm better - lot of the rich-folk are up at their property at the court ... and are actively cutting and tweaking their yards and docks ...

I cut part of my yard with my old-push (no gas) mower-type....and then I fixed my driveway reflector board (the snow weighed so heavy on it that the rods were bent and looked stupid after I re-bent them back to a somewhat upright position) .. so I took off the old rods and put new ones on.

took down my easter bunny yard-board ... the neighbors gave me an old plastic outside table ... so I'm debating on getting a board out on it and cutting out a lighthouse with my jigsaw ...

have to finish binding the quilt for the wedding next saturday ...

school is going great ... going into the 3rd week already!

applied for 2 more jobs - one down by Appleton (CINTAS) and one over in Minnetonka, Minnesota (Cargill) .. both A/P bookkeeping ...

I'm going to have to live with the daily pain - it's always with me now .. and it makes it uncomfortable to sit or stand and the getting up part in-between brings a 'tear to my eye' ...

thanks, Jenn ... just don't know what to do anymore - or why I'm here to go thru it alone ... and, I know - there are others worse off than me, I have to be thankful ...

NaeNae, I know you're in dire circumstances right now.

I was hoping to provide a little bit of distraction for your lovely little loinfruit, I posted a bunch of new WOK-WOKs for her viewing pleasure.

:hug::grouphug::hug:

oh, and thanks for the cheers, Carolina!

a week of babywipe baths, and I was startin' to get ITCHY.

especially in this hot, humid climate.

barb02 05-11-2008 08:40 AM

Hey everyone! I hope you are all doing okay. I tried reading all of the posts that I missed, but gave up. LOL!

Frank -- Get well soon!

I got home last night from my vacation. The beach was great and I had a good time. I tried to go into the ocean but only made it up to my knees. It was freezing. Ate alot of good seafood. We went down to Charleston, SC for one day and it was beautiful. I have never been there before. I would like to go back for a few days.

Now it is going to take me several days to recover from my vacation:rolleyes: Flying is awful these days. The planes were small and packed! I had two flights canceled when I left on my trip. Explanation -- did not have the crew to fly the planes.

I have an appointment with my neuro tomorrow. I do not know what to expect. I am not sure I want to try any other drugs (imuran or cellcept) at this point. I also am going to try to discuss LDN with him, but I have a feeling he will not be too receptive.

Happy Mother's Day to all of you who are mothers!!!

FinLady 05-11-2008 10:02 AM

Happy mother's day to all you moms! Hope it's a good one! :)

spent a lot of time running around yesterday. It was a beautiful one and glad I got to enjoy the weather. Especially now that it's raining, lol.

Got a new helmet to replace the one damaged last year when I toppled the motorcycle, so I am free to ride behind hubby now. :)

But today just going to putter around the house. Good day to stay inside here.

Vonn07 05-11-2008 10:22 AM

hey all ..

got alot done yesterday - more downsizing ... have a circle wooden table and small wooden cabinet that's 'going out to the curb' after it quits raining ... I think it quit, just waiting for it to dry out a bit ...

have homework and quilting to do, wrap a friend's birthday present and make up a card .. and cards for those with b-days this week that I need to send out.

hope eveyone has a relaxing day -

hope all goes well with your doctor, Barb ...

Renee - any stone yet??

Kay must be in heaven with all her modern do-dads now!! woo hoo!!

FinLady 05-11-2008 01:35 PM

Well, Just had a good time here. :eek: Sirens were going off and we were under a tornado warning that just ended.

Apparently a funnel cloud was reported a little northeast of us. Praying no one was hurt.

Crazy, Crazy weather.

SandyC 05-11-2008 02:07 PM

Be careful Fin. It's cold and gloomy here. Doing nothing today. Putting in a roast and laying on the couch. lol

Happy mother's day to all of you.
