Kay~ Gotta tell you, I'm really enjoying your pics and info of your country. It's so interesting, all except those black flies. Those things are yucky!...

A friend of mine went to Belize many yrs ago w/Heifer Int'l. He is a photographer and his pics were spectacular. *yours aren't too shabby either.*

Hello everyone and have a good day.... there's a storm brewing here in IL.

I spoke to Renee this morning, 1:15am my time. She was having horrible spasms and didn't know if she should call an ambulance. I talked her through things and she finally relented and called an ambulance. She was having clonic spasms and they gave her morphine and other muscle meds. She was resting this morning around 8am my time. They still plan to drive later after she gets some rest. I think they should wait but mom and dad need to get back to their house. I honestly think the stress and physical work is taking it's toll on Renee. Please keep her in your prayers that they have a safe trip back to Arkansas.

SandyC 06-03-2008 09:50 AM

Rain here today, looks like some bad storms brewing. My youngest is in Champaign where some bad ones are going through and coming. Jim and Chris are going with me for my test today.

CayoKay 06-03-2008 09:55 AM

oh, NaeNae !!

that's rough, right when you gotta DO stuff, MS rears its ugly head.

sending you cool soothing blue waves of healing calm energy.

and prayers too, natch.

:hug:

bring a little ice chest on the road, with a couple of ice-packs, sometimes that helps stop the leg cramps...

but don't leave 'em on too long, just a few minutes.

and keep your legs positioned so they won't cramp... bring extra pillows.

love and hugs, K

CayoKay 06-03-2008 10:00 AM

busy busy busy... putting together a box of clothes and food for people flooded out, who lost everything.

I don't have much, but it's so much more than some, that I have to share.

trying to find local contact info and a place to drop off the box now.

then, dinner at a friend's house, oh boy, gonna be a long day.

more hugs, love, and prayers, for Renee and Olivia, and parents, and for a safe easy drive.

lor 06-03-2008 11:26 AM

Hi, I'll be here several times a day now...at least till mid September. I'll be bored & I just have the TV & the computer to be with. My kids are hardly ever home (work, school, or just with friends). And get this, My DH left on his business trip that will be to about mid September. (He gets to come home every 3 weekends though.) I'm sorta hungry & tired now, See Ya later.

barb02 06-03-2008 01:03 PM

First wave of storms has gone through. We are still under a tornado watch for another hour. Then we are supposed to get some more storms later this afternoon. I think they have forecast storms for everyday this week.

Not much is going on here. I am trying to do some child proofing of my house before my niece gets here.

Roseblue 06-03-2008 01:21 PM

Hi! Everyone. I'm new here and I have just been enjoying a nice read of this thread. I hope you are all doing okay. Mind you don't get blown away, those winds sound strong.

lor 06-03-2008 01:26 PM

barb, My DH goes to Ottawa, Illinois. Do you know where that is? It's near Peoria, do you know where that is?
Oh no, I wonder how his driving will be doing? Accually, he is leaving at 3:00 (he has a meeting in town so he is at the office). But by the time many see this, I'll bet he is gone. Anyway barb, he is driving west from Ohio, on the Ohio turnpike. How's the driving weather do you think?

FinLady 06-03-2008 02:22 PM

Hi everyone. :Wave-Hello:

We just got through our first round of storms. :rain: But on the plus side, my kitchen sink is totally scrubbed and gleaming. Bright and shiney, lol.

~~~~~
Sandy, thanks for the update on Renee. Prayers are still going out for her and for you. :hug:
Barb, hope you have fun with your niece when she comes. :)
Lor, I know how quiet a house can be when the hubby's away. I usually do chick flick nights when he's gone, lol. Otherwise I never get to watch them. :rolleyes:
Roseblue, Welcome :)
lor 06-03-2008 02:27 PM
$hil, My DH just called (at 3:23) to say he's leaving. :mad: :o :(
lor 06-03-2008 02:31 PM
Hey Finlady, Wanna come over with one of those chick flicks? http://bestsmileys.com/cool/5.gif
DM 06-03-2008 04:33 PM
See Roseblue!!! It's easy to just jump in w/both feet anywhere. This board is friendly, so matter where you turn.
Sandy - Hope all went well today. Let us know how it went.
Renee - Big cyber:hug:'s. I hope you start feeling better soon.
Kay - Do you have an ark? lol. I have been saying my prayers for all those effected by the flooding as well as you and DH.
Rosebud - Hi there! Welcome.
Fin, Barb, Frank, & all others in the storms path - Saying prayers that you are all safe.
Lor - :(Sorry DH is going to be gone for so long. :hug:
Hope everyone is having a nice day.
I had more energy today than I have had in over a week. I spent the a.m. catching up on house work. Dang, I would have rather been doing something else with the energy but I had to catch up a bit. Refrig, cabinets, bathroom, & my bedroom needed some serious detailing that I haven't been able to do.
I'm waiting for DD16 to get home from school (she has the car again :eek:) so that I can get some grocery shopping done my way. I've been sent DDs last week and ended up with all sorts of junk food and some good food. Sheeze, when will they learn. lol
barb02 06-03-2008 07:29 PM
MRI report
I just heard from my neurologist. Yes, he called me at 6:00 in the evening. :cool: He said that my latest MRI does not show any active inflammation.:D:D:D He did say that the report states that I may have one new lesion since last Spring (2007), but it (the report) was not clear and my neuro seemed unsure also from looking at the images. So he is going to have them look at them again.
He stated that he would give me a week or so to decide if I want to try imuran. I have already decided that I do not want to try it at this point. So the other option is to repeat the MRI in 6 months. And he stated if that is my choice, we will just cancel my June appt with him, and I can see him in 6 months. So that is what I am going to do. Except I may also be seeing a new neuro by then.
ewizabeth 06-03-2008 08:23 PM
Hi Roseblue! :welcome_sign:We had some thunderstorms with about an inch of rain today! It's good for the stuff I planted this spring. :)
Everybody:
I'm enjoying reading all of your updates each day. :grouphug: I'm not exactly a dynamo so I don't post all that much though.
I have to watch my blood pressure as a rule and it's been low lately. I called the PCP about it and went over to have it tested today. It was 92/58 and that isn't normal for me. So he wants me to cut out one of my BP meds and see if it goes up somewhat. I hope that helps with some of my fatigue, it's so bad that I can barely pry myself out of my chair to do anything at all.
Also, I made an appt for a scope of my esophagus and a colonoscopy on June 20th with a gastro doctor. I've had reflux for a couple of years now and it got bad enough for me to need Nexium everyday now. I don't think it's anything serious but at least I'll be checked out. I like the idea of getting both done in one day too. :) I just hope he changes his gloves between procedures. :Ponder:;)
Now how boring is that? My most noteworthy info is about doctor appts. :o
Vonn07 06-03-2008 09:07 PM
howdy all ..
made the road trip down to Beaver Dam yesterday .. and back today ... and I am 'p*o*o*p*e*d' to say the least ... LOL
had a great time ... and may have landed an apartment - 2nd floor with stairs .. but, I'll have to deal with the pain and do it ... it's walking distance to the craft store and quilt shop ... what? do you think I'll never be home? oh, go figure!! LOL this is more of a smaller one and no w/d unit and no garage - so more downsizing (selling my 12" compound miter saw with stand .. brand-spanking new!) ... but I can go to the local laundromat for awhile (yep, another reason to 'get-out')
I'm excited ... those of you that received pillowcases from Santa last year - well, I may have 'landed' a contract with a dance/skating studio for 'girly-girl' type pillowcases .. .so, I submitted my quote to her (well, she asked me to work out prices) ...
okay - I'm blabbing :Talkative: because I'm tired ... and back on my loveseat (well, my bed for the last 7 months) ... can't sleep flat ... need head propped up .. and can get an Rx for that! LOL (can't afford the mattress tho!) ... so the armrest on the loveseat has to do for now!
be good, be happy, be free ...
should learn Italian .. so I can go to Venice someday ... ;)
barb02 06-03-2008 09:44 PM
Hi Rosebud! Welcome!
Hi Wiz! I have just learned from experience that it is a good idea not to put off those tests. I was supposed to have my colonoscopy 6 months ago. I also take nexium everyday. I use to take prilosec but graduated to nexium after steriods last year. I'm not sure about the 2nd glove; you know that recylcling is pretty popular these days. Yuck! Just make sure that they keep you asleep!:eek:
We are in for a second round of storms. Right now the worst one seem to be North of here. We are under a tornado warning until 2:00. I am just starting to hear the thunder so I had better get off of the computer.
Vonn, Hope you get an apartment you like.
Just wanted to pop in and let y'all know that I'm trying to keep up with this thread and even though I don't post that much I'm keeping everyone in my thoughts and prayers.
:grouphug:
FinLady 06-04-2008 07:54 AM
Good morning all :) Another beautiful day of storms, lol. :rain:
I found out that waiting until the inspection before I left my job actually worked out. The agency passed! I'm stopping by today to visit and bringing donuts to help them celebrate. :)
Well, I better get off here. our satellite is fuzzing and there's thunder in the distance. Oh the fun, lol.
SandyC 06-04-2008 10:07 AM
Hi all! I am fine!!!!!! After five smashes to my right skeeter bite and two to the left, I am clear for a year!!!! Whoohoo! The radiologist said I had changes to my density and he just wanted to get a closer look. They used a smaller paddle for the smashing, it looked like a fly swatter haha. It didn't hurt at all believe it or not. Even the tech was surprised. I do have a bruise on my right side because they were trying to get close to the muscle where one change was.
Thanks for the prayers! I haven't heard from Renee since yesterday morning. She said she'd call me in a few days.
I'm so happpy you are fine. They had to do the smaller paddle thing with mine, too because mine are so dense to begin with. I'm glad it didn't hurt, but let me tell you that does hurt on larger breasts!!:eek: I thought I was going to come out looking like the woman in that cartoon someone posted a few pages back.
I am thinking the four ibuprofins I took before getting there helped. lol
barb02 06-04-2008 11:17 AM
Sandy, Great news! I am going to have to remember that -- take ibuprofins prior to smashing. Because I am "more endowed" they always take extra films of me and do one where they just flatten the front portion -- OUCH!!!
We had alot of bad storms last night and are suppposed to get more today. It is also supposed to be in the mid 90s this weekend.:eek: What happened to Spring?
Getting ready for visit from my sis and niece. Then, we are off to Ohio.
I have an infantile urge to say, "Told you so!!!":p
But I won't.:D
Thanks for the good news.:hug:
tkrik 06-04-2008 11:29 AM
Sandy - That is great news! You must be so relieved. I know I would be.
Fin - That is so sweet of you to bring everyone donuts. Any leftovers? I'm hungry.:p LOL
Barb - That is great news. 1 new lesion in a year is good. I am happy for you and hope this trend continues for you. Better yet, I hope and pray that you will have no new lesions within the next year. That would be great!
Wiz - Good luck with all the testing. Let us know how it goes. It's sad that now we spend our time scheduling dr appoints, tests, med deliveries, when to take meds, naps, etc., etc., etc. I am far too young for this. LOL.
My Dad always said that he retired so that he can go to all these silly dr appoints, routine tests, etc. If he were still working he wouldn't be able to do all of that as he would lose his job. Mind you, both my parents are in excellent health with very little issues (both are in their 70's). It's just this routine tests that eat up their time. They do find the time to workout 3 times a week at the local community college's exercise class for elderly. For having 10 kids, my Mom's abs are incredible!
Vonn - I hope that Beaver Dam works out for you. You have been talking about moving there for a while. I will pray that the timing is right for you. The new apartment sounds great other than the stairs. But there are work arounds and I know you will come up with solutions. Let us know how it all turns out and when the big move is. Oh, sorry you have to get rid of your miter saw. I have been eyeing them for a while now. Maybe you can hang on to it or store for later use.
Hi to everyone else! Hope you are all having a good day.
Per Vonn's request and some self training on my part, I posted one of my paintings in the Creative Corner. I spend this morning working on photographing artwork. Got the tripod out, the camera, the painting and got busy. Boy, I still have a lot to learn about lighting and placement. I think I got the Photoshop stuff down. All I did was crop out the background. Photography as well as digital arts is a new skill for me and it feels so good to learn a new skill; something totally out of my skill "bank" and comfort zone.
Go ahead, I can take it. lol
My mom was freaking completely out. I should have known not to tell a woman who had breast cancer two years ago and just had brain surgery that her daughter needed to go back to get more films. That woman called me a whole bunch of times asking the same question over and over..."What time is your appointment? Call me as soon as you know something." lol She even called and told some family and had me practically getting chemo. :rolleyes: :p
CayoKay 06-04-2008 12:07 PM
posted a photo of me and DD in the BRAG BRAG BRAG thread...
man, that's a silly GRIN I'm wearing !!
House jinx
I swear, I live with Murphy's law: anything that can go wrong, will.
Something usually breaks when my DH is out of town.
This time, I was letting what little cool air come from the garage through the kitchen when I heard a hissing sound.
The hot water heater has sprung a leak. One needs a ladder to turn off the hot water. Thank goodness my handyman neighbor was around to shut off the tank.
So, cold showers for the next few days.:(
FinLady 06-04-2008 03:35 PM
Sandy, Glad everything is ok. Glad to hear it. :yahoo:
Aarcyn, LOL. Happens to me too when hubby is out of town. Glad you had someone nearby to help ya out.
TK, they were much appreciative of the sugar rush, lol. so unfortunately - no leftovers. :D
Barb, have fun with the family. :)
Frank, thanks for the pic. I've had days like that too.
~~~~~~~~

LOL. My visit turned into part training session, but that's ok. I had a feeling it would happen, so didn't bother me.

Came home and crashed on the couch. Guess I really wasn't up to the running around and didn't realize it until I got home. The fun of the ever moving "wall". But it was worth seeing them.

weegot5kiz 06-04-2008 05:33 PM

yeah its been non stop here too went to docs then a doc for my mom, for those who might remember, my mom is dealing with skin cancer issues and a tyroid issue which at this time doc said dont fret about tyroid, the noduals(sp?) are not big enough to worry about, then off to devry for my son, turns out he won another scholarship so we are getting close to 8500 every yr for him to go to school, thank you god!!!! all he has to do is maintain a 3.0 gp, he graduate high school taking advance classes with a 4 .32 so if he tries he should do well, I hope, and again.

i still have to make an appt to find out about my colonoscpy, find out the results of what they removed and tested, i figure if it was bad they would of called me by now although its barely been two weeks, who knows, being honest sometimes i say who cares, bad attitude but i get so tired of docs for this docs for that pills pills pills

all you flatlanders from illofnoise, just a wee bit humid today or what:eek:

and this is the cats second time through the dry cycle
http://i288.photobucket.com/albums/l...lean-kitty.jpg

and for those of you in the sunbelt shade is where you make it
http://i288.photobucket.com/albums/l...-preflight.jpg

hope you all have safe nights from the storms

Sandy is your son ok, saw yesterdays and todays weather, go right through where he was at, i think u said he was back down at school? or am I daffy(hush) I hope he is ok

peace

SandyC 06-04-2008 06:43 PM

Frank, I haven't heard from that little stinker since Monday night. I called him and left a message that I was Ok and that I hope the storms weren't bad. I expected him to call me but nope. He must be having a good time. lol

I had to turn the air on today. It's not hot but humid. I am not going to complain, I hate the cold. lol

barb02 06-05-2008 12:16 AM

Storms were pretty bad in Champaign/ north to Kankakee tonight.

SandyC 06-05-2008 12:24 AM

Nik still hasn't called. I will call him in the morning to see how he's doing.

Becky21 06-05-2008 01:00 AM

Sany,

I am really glad to hear your tests came back ok. That's scary waiting to hear the news. They should do ultra sound in the first place instead of smashing us. :eek:

SandyC 06-05-2008 01:02 AM

LOL Becky, they didn't even do the ultrasound. They made me get smashed before deciding on the ultra sound. I swear a man invented the mammogram. Whoever it was must have been really ****** off at a woman.
