LOL! Sorry I forgot to say how much iced tea I was making. I usually make a gallon at a time.
Did some running around outside the house yesterday since it barely broke 80. Which after the 90+, it was great. Of course paying for it this morning, LOL. hoping I can get some stuff done, but really feel like a lump right now. Hope everyone has a great day.:grouphug: |

Hey, what happened to you going to stay with your friends until you got a place to live? Jim and I are up having coffee. He is so nervous about the appointment today. He also has a low grade fever. Ugh |
Good luck today Jim(and Sandy).:) Ill be praying for you.
:hug::hug: |
Good luck Jim (and Sandy)! I do hope they find something that will work for you. Praying for the best for you both.
Fin - Funny how we can be all go one day and the next we are a bowl of Jello. LOL. Rest up today so that tomorrow you can be all go again. Vonn - Digital cameras are pretty cool. I don't have one but both girls do. I just use one of theirs when I need one. A digital camera is on my wish list too but it is pretty low on that wish list. Good morning everyone else! I hope you all have a great day. My update: Antibiotics are kicking in. My brain is waking up and I am more alert with improvement in my energy level. YEAH!! Maybe I can get this painting done for niece today. |
Good luck with the appointment today Jim and Sandy.
|
hey Sandy and Jim ... here's a big HUG for yous and that your appointment goes well!!
well, I'll be moving down to BD .. but no place to go yet - and would rather not put it all in storage and then move it again ... I might just go and get a U-haul truck .. load it myself, drive it down - unload it .. and then come back up with my friends to get my car ... hopefully I can UNLOAD the stuff right at an apartment ... glad you like the mugshot ... it's sorta dorky - she was sitting and I was standing being a goof! *just taken last thursday!* Tricia .. yeh, me too - everything is way down on the list for me ... remember you mentioned something about mold?? I'm wondering the same here - with all the water damage .. and from my kitchen sink I have to plug the drain because I get this 'wet dirt smell' and it's sickening ... and then in the bathroom and back room when the guy said he 'knew' how to hook up my water tank when I first moved here - and actually ended up flooding the rooms ... AND then when it rains thru the screen for the door onto the entry way ... when the floor broke thru 2 summers ago, my uncle fixed it and had to cut out the wood because it was rotten .. and of course, the carpet was moldy ... but didn't have the $$ to replace the carpet ... yep - can't wait to get out of here - should of figured THIS out the first day I moved here .. but I had to replace the water pump twice .. and then a 3rd time.. over $800 in 2 months ... I was financially busted ... and have been struggling ever since .. now I have an illness ... and am forced to leave - good! I can load everything in storage and be homeless for awhile ... be a traveling vagabond!! with a sewing machine!! LOL sorry to ramble .. .just wanted to talk to someone! hope everyone has a great day!! |
hello everyone hugs and salutations

Hi Everyone! Just a quick update for you. I am leaving for Florida in 5 days and hoping the heat down there won't do me in, LOL!!! My sis says it's over 100 at 5 am on her balcony...groan!!! I'm now wondering if it was such a good idea to agree to escort my nephew down there so he can spend time over the summer with his gramother ( my sister)!
I'm probally going to melt into one big puddle!!! Hope your all well. I can't seem to get caught up! Renee, are you holding up hon? Sandy, tell Jim I'm keeping fingers crossed for him. How is everybody in the midwest?? I saw some pretty nasty storms going through there last night. I hope ya'll are OK.
We had some storms here in GA but nothing like what Iowa and Nebraska experienced. It looked like Illinois and Missouri got hit, too. Ya'll check in......I'm worried.....:icon_frown: |

:D just exhausted... long day, long drive, monthly VISA renewal, and major-supplies shooping, still recovering from Monday. by the drive home, I was getting hideous foot cramps, and was near tears. luckily, I did the ol' hippy-dippy homebirth-thing back in the 70s, and thus, knew how to handle distress, by breathing through it. it took every IOTA of personal strength I could cobble together to handle it calmly... because there's nowhere to walk it OFF when you're in the car, and gotta get home before dark to feed the animals, so, can't stop. somehow I managed. |
Hi all,
I have a good update today. :) My doctor adjusted my BP meds last week, and I feel so much better! I've had killer fatigue, dizziness and lightheadness for the past year (at least) and have always attributed it to the MS and/or Tysabri. I've improved so much with this med adjustment, I'm just afraid it won't last, you know? Anyway, since the adjustment I've been able to do some push mowing, pull weeds, vacuum, dust, etc... without feeling sick. I'm so thrilled! I thought I'd never be able to do those things again! :) So even if this is temporary, I'm going to relish it because I love doing these things. I just thought I'd share. :) I only do a little each day, but at least I'm getting to do it period! Vonn, you look so cute in your floppy hat! :) Finlady, enjoy your swim workout, I'm envious!! Frank, I read your wife's post on Renee's divorce thread and it brought tears to my eyes, she's such a sweetheart! Everybody else, have a good day, watch out for the storms and stay cool!! |
Vonn - Glad you are still hanging in there.
Frank - I am glad that Deb enjoyed the posts. I think it is awesome that she joined in. Carolyn - Thanks for the update. I hope that you have a good and safe trip. I am also hoping that the weather cools down a bit for you. Kitty - You're right about those storms and I too hope everyone is OK. I've been saying my prayers for our mid-western NT buds. (((Kay))) *gentle hug* - It is amazing how those birthing classes come in handy when dealing with those bad spasms. I use that technique quite often. Did you get your monthly VISA? Fin - A water exercise class is great!!! I hope you enjoy it. Don't worry if you can't keep up. Focus on the importance of the exercises and the reasons you decided to take the class. We want full details when you get back. :) Hi everyone else! I hope everyone has a good day. |
Wiz - that is great news! I am glad the adjustment in meds is helping you. You must be so relieved.

Hey all,
Carolyn, enjoy Florida, my son is down there now...we sent him down for two weeks..for vacation with grandparents who live down there...my inlaws... We all, the rest of us are going for two weeks in August..ahhhhhh and I have been thinking of the heat that goes with that...ahhhhhh (the only good time to schedule our trip was then, with both our work places...) So good luck with the heat, and I will try in August to survive it.... Vonn, I havent read back, wondering how you are doing?? now that nicer outside..maybe we could meet up..maybe me come that way sometime..?? Update, me I am ok...keeping busy with kids, work and all... sxs still come and go with heat, humidity ... My sister Madeline, the one fighting Cancer still....ugggg well, she started as some of you know with colon cancer years ago...they had removed some colon and did chemo and was doing well... then not long after they found it had spread....to liver...they removed half her liver...and started chemo....and been on chemo now over a year... during which time, they also started seeing small spots on her lungs... well for a while chemo was keeping them the same size... but latest tests..showed the spots getting bigger..and more spots in both lungs and liver....so she is now off chemo...and waiting to hear about doing a test with a University for experimental meds...as she has been on all approved chemo meds...and not working....so keep her in your prayers... she is still so upbeat and good spirits...she is still teaching at the University she teaches at....thru summer..but then taking off in fall....since not sure what is up... she still plays tennis often...and feels pretty good.... she is now talking finding a wig she likes made....as she mentioned she doesnt want to have a funeral someday with a bald head....:( but hey her good spirits and dealing straight forward over the time has I feel kept her feeling so good so far... Due to this last news, my kids asked when we are visiting down there for some time.... well between florida in August..and already in a week or so had a three day trip planned downstate...(to hang with the family I used to nanny for out in Boston area,..they will be in lower MI soon) I decided to take that whole week off here in June...if driving already 5 hours for the one visit...might as well continue lower down MI...3 hours to hang with my sister and her family...so the girls and I are doing that soon. When I think of how strong my sister is with Cancer, I can be stronger on my yucky painful sx days....she is sooo strong...such a great inspiration to me...my big sis...( I ahve four sisters total) but this is the one that was about 10 when I was born...she became my second mommy...I am sad taht she has to have Cancer and that it is getting worse....but glad she is so strong... hugss all, sarah:D |

still waiting on our "Permanent Residency" status. it's been almost a YEAR since we turned in our application to Immigration! after it's approved, we won't have to pay, or make that long drive to the capitol each month, oh, I'll be soooooooooo happy! and yes, birthing-breathing definitely works for the leg spasms, lol... you do it too? I thought I INVENTED that idea! God bless Lamaze! :D:hug::D |
Heat and backyard pools
We have a small pool in the backyard. I can't use it without supervision, actually I have not used it in 3 years.
It needs repairs. The pool is drained, ready for the new tiles and plaster. Bank account is drained too.:( Once it is fixed, I am determined to get in. Gotta get my money's worth or get wet trying. |
Quote:
If I knew how to do tile repairs and plaster for pools, I'd come help. But, I don't. The good news is, that when you do fill the pool the water will be nice and cool. Our pool here becomes bath water by July and I can't use it. :( I know that you already know that but, just thought I'd throw that in there. LOL. EDIT: Maybe when you are ready to paint, I can help with that. |
Hi all :) Water aerobics went well. A little muscle fatigue, but feeling good!! I'm definitely going back next week. Nice bunch of ladies. :)
Amazing how much of a workout you can get in a pool. The hardest part was getting used to the floatation belt so you could do stuff like "bicycling" in the deep end. Brain's a little fuzzy so need to get lunch, lol. I'll probably try a nap later on too. :) ~~~~~~~ Sarah, Prayers for you sis on the way  Kay, Hope they get that residency app through for ya soon. Wiz, Great news! |
Hey everyone! Just hanging out trying to figure out which project to start first today. Let's see, I could do laundry, bills, put together my headboard for the guest room, clean the garage, call for a pcp for Jim, lay out meat for dinner tonight even though I'd be skipping around the freezer repair guy...or just chill and be lazy. What do you think? lol
I spoke with Renee before we left and she wasn't doing so well. Her husband was supposed to come by to see Olivia before he went back to Virginia and never showed up. What a dud he is. Then her so called friends in Virginia wont return her calls now. I told her to let it go and not take it personal. Maybe they are just trying to step away from it all since he's coming back to live there. I also reminded her that she didn't live there long and now is the time she is going to find out who her real friends are. It's sad, but true. I'll be calling her later to see how she's doing. Everyone here please have a safe day and stay out of the heat and/or storms. I hear we're going to be blasted by possible storms today. Did you all hear about the Boy Scout camp in Iowa that was hit by a tornado? Four dead. So sad. |
hey ever-body .. I'm still hanging in there ... storms going thru .. but just thunder and rain ... :rain:
making a few calls about apartments in another area ... Waupun ... have a good feeling about moving there ... and still close to friends ...:yahoo: still boxing and reorganizing to keep making room ... gosh, I new I had stuff - oh, I forgot - I've been moving boxes from storage to resort thru .. no wonder I'm getting that boxed in feeling!!:Crowded: have until the end of the month to get out of here and get my trailer moved ... all will work out ... I believe in miracles ... and good things are on their way!:OuttaHere: |
good morning ... afternoon everyone
glad to see everyone up and about ... i am still trying to get the feel of this as i have always dealt with chatrooms and e-mails ... confussing to remember where all i have posted things :confused2::Scratch-Head::Ponder::Dunno::Bang-Head: i figured that problem out this morning :yahoo: anyway .. have to jet out of here to get a list of things done so ... i guess i will let frank have the laptop for now ... kelly ... according to frank the laptop we have IS mine ... since he spends most of his time in bed due to pain, i dont fight him much for the laptop ... i just kick the kid off the desk puter ,,, but i agree ... we need another laptop |
good afternoon all, got the I am dead tired thingy going on, I know why its my own fault.

this is just for "permanent residency" (one year residency required) real "citizenship" (and voting rights and stuff) takes FIVE years. btw, it just started to RAIN again... 1/3 of my land is still under water from Tropical Storm Arthur... so, we're kinda shiverin' in our boots here. |
Can you send a little of that rain to Virginia? My cucumbers and squash are dying because it is so dry.
That really was terrible about the Boy Scouts last night. Thinking of all the families. Franksangel, you have a nice looking family. |
Kay - I hope the rain has slowed down some. Like Woodhaven asked, could you send some here too?
|

Hey woodie - where are you at?? Send me a pm if you don't want to reply here. I'm in VB. |
returned home last yesterday. I am fighting a cold and do not have the energy right now to go through all of the posts since I was gone. Hope everyone is doing ok. We are supposed to get some more severe storms and lots of rain today. My sister and niece are here until Sunday when I will take them to the St. Louis airport. I love spending time with them and playing with my niece, but my sister does not seem to understand ms fatigue.
All of you fellow Illinoisians, take care!!! |
Hi to all. Grandma and I are back. We flew about 2,500 miles across country and then put nearly 600 miles on the rental car, packed up 18 boxes and had them shipped, lugged 6 suitcases through two airports, flew another 2,500 miles home and I wonder why I can hardly move now! Exhausted would be an understatement.
Everything went OK for the most part with just a couple of snags that had better become unsnagged soon! Thanks to everyone for the good wishes and prayers. I can't believe what we got accomplished and it could only be because of the prayers and all of the support I felt from here! |
Good morning all :) Trying to wake up, and sitting here wondering if coffee can be taken by IV, LOL
A little sore still from yesterday, but it's a good sore - Thank Goodness. Trying to figure out what I can do today and not push to hard. Testing where that wall might be, LOL. Probably get some small projects done this weekend. LOL, I always seem to do more when hubby's not home. He and a friend are going to a Nationwide (previously Busche) race in KY. My sweetie needs time away, but I'm a little jealous, LOL. He still owes me a NASCAR race. Maybe next year as a b-day present we'll go to daytona. ;) Have a good day, everyone. (now where did I put that coffee???? :D) |

Hey everyone. Can you guys do me a favor? Our dear Judy has just given us some bad news. She has just been told she has breast cancer. Can you help me lift her up in prayer? She posts on the Judy's Inspiration Alley. Thanks.
My update is same old same old. Laundry and bills. lol Guess what though?! My mom has been told she may get her apartment in one to two months rather than a year!!!! SS also told her she should have an answer about early retirement by this next week and she should know about her disability by October! WOW! Jim and I were in shock and happy for her. I just spent close to 800 dollars getting that dern room ready. lol |
