I have been in this place for months and I have always understood. I hope it's not too much longer that the demons stay. I'll be thinking about you. |
Frank ... I think that's just a little 'dusting' of fairy dust from DM to us ... LOL
|
hey, some of you talk about the weather...and I sooo relate...gosh If I DONT have MS....I couldnt imagine what I do have lol...
hubby mentioned a neuro hour away, that someone from his work with MS sees, surprised me that he brought it up..as we are both tired of going to new ones and not getting anywhere...and at this point I have seen three in area or distant area....so do you think if I get a referral to meet this one...he might think wierd of me since been to so many neuros?? and if I do head that way again, to a new neuro....what is all your opinions...on what to bring or just go more newly...like I dont want to go in..and go thru long story of what happened with each of these other neuros...dont want to neuro bash...hehe.... anyhow any advice, in case I seek yet another neuro ..??? hugss all, sarah:) If I sound a bit cautious on neuro idea...just been thru this three times...then no answers...or not even a dr who wants to look into and figure me out..other than coming up with anxiety...and that sxs clear when preggo cause of happiness lol.... anyhow hesitant...but might give it a try, I see my pcp in Sept. then may ask about this neuro with her..hugsss,sarah:) |
Sarah, I would just go in and explain everything you experience and how you pcp thinks it could be ms but many of your tests are not confiming that. Ask that he recheck the results and tell him you need a neuro who is active on getting you a dx. Tell him your tired of being tired. Many doctors understand the frustrations people go through trying to be dx'd with whatever is the problem.
Honestly, if it were me, I would just take the MRI and any other tests results you have. Carry the doctors reports but don't offer them unless asked. I sometimes believe that our records can influence new doctors. You know what I mean? |
Ugh having the bad spasticity issues in my legs that landed me in the hospital a month ago, dunno what is going on with my body...miss a couple of Tysabri infusions and I go to pot I swear, or wait maybe I need pot LOL!
Holly we all have those times, I hope you get to feeling better soon. Sandy I was unable to move quickly when you called.....I am taking some meds now and hopefully going to sleep! |
I'll try to call in the earlier part of the day Renee. I thought you were out with Memaw so I waited. Feel better soon!
|
sarah I liked what sandy suggested explain what and why, good luck in your decision.
vonn, she is gracing us with something:) howdy howdy all renee hope u feel better soon |
Just stopping in real quick before my bedtime. Dinner was a hit - never baked ribs before and they came out great. :)
Sarah, I'd go to the neuro like you were new. I didn't mention what my other neuro had said and just did the hour long exam and history, giving him my test results and family stuff. LOL, he was the one to bash the first neuro. Vonn, Glad to hear the move in has been going good. Renee, sorry to hear your symptoms are being wacky. Between the hot weather and no infusion, ugh! Hope you feel better soon. Holly, Hang in there. Nothing seems to happen but all at once. |
kind of like fins idea too dont give too much or maybe his decision will be prejudged either way good luck sarah:hug:

mi esposo made baked ribs for dinner... strolled into the kitchen yesterday, and saw him cutting off a hunk of frozen Kevin Bacon, with a SAW, yeah, really !! some tools simply shouldn't be used in the preparation of food, lol... although he swore up and down that he cleaned it well, prior to beginning sawing. :D PS: the ribs were totally delish. |
the pain, last few days...like 4 days...my ankles and wrists still hurting...in morning hardly can walk....then I go on....as I have to....kindof scared what and how I am gonna work the work I do....gotta head in, hugss, sarah
|
Not in as much pain today thankfully as I have laundry and cleaning to do, my whole family is coming over here Sunday for a birthday party for the kids.
We had ribs last night too...musta been telepathic or something LOL |
morning all ...
did I mention that I MADE a pizza on Saturday and COOKED it in the stove??? remember - I hadn't had a stove for over a year ... and the one that was there before didn't look safe to cook anything, so I didn't even use it (was there since April 2005) .. 3rd week ... still carrying As ... lots to do this week with homework etc!! finished going thru the boxes I moved in the other day - and now to get 'another load' this morning while it's still nice out ... getting to the stuff - and getting rid of more stuff ... and that's what it is .. stuff!! sure is nice looking out at the lake as I'm writing to you .. and watching the breeze blow thru the trees and make little waves on the lake!! even enough of a breeze to tinkle the chimes I have hanging by the window! hope everyone has a great day ... and Kay - saw that Hurricane Dolly missed you .. did you still get hit with wind?? |
Morning all. I think weird is going to be the word of the day for me. Had to take DH to work this morning as his buggy wouldn't start. Dead battery? Wonky alternator? He isn't sure, but those are his guesses at the moment. I woke up this morning to a pins and needles right hand. More stuff is coming and going. Told DH and both of us are like here we go again. :thud: I'm concerned enough to re-plan my day, but not concerned enough to get this checked out just yet. If things get worse, or are still bugging me tomorrow, I'll deal with it then. I'm sure the stress of teen-aged DD going to Mexico for a week very early Friday morning isn't helping things. On the other hand I think there is more to this than potential stress.
Sarah- I totally understand your frustration with docs. Been there, done that, got a drawer full of T-shirts for proof. I like the idea of trying someone new and starting from scratch. |
Good morning everyone!
I have been hit hard with that dang summer time fatigue, weakness, and all sorts of bizarre things going on. Therefore, I haven't been on much (just lurking every now and then). I do good up until 10 a.m. and then I am pretty much done for the day!! I have also been working on designs/artwork to donate to OHG (Our Hearts Greetings) so they can use it on their Zazzle site. Since they are strictly donation based and cash is not something I always have, I decided to do this for them and anything that is sold goes directly to fund their efforts. They do such awesome things for us MSers as well as the medical community involved with the care of MS patients. I think they told me they have something like 30 thank you notes/packages to send out this month. I am sure they are running low on supplies so I need to figure out how I can help replenish the supplies (stamps, envelopes, note cards, etc.). I hope you all have a great day today and all are doing well.:grouphug: |
Kay, what your hubby did was funny. LOL, I can see mine doing the same thing :D
Renee, LOL, great minds think alike. I think it's the summer time. It's the only time I'm in the mood for ribs. TK, Sorry to hear you've been having the ickiness from the summer heat. It's great to hear what your doing for OHG, though. Weave, Hope the stuff going on is temporary. Hope you feel better soon. Vonn, holding A's at school and an oven to cook in - sounds like things are going well for ya. :) ~~~~~~~~ Good morning all :) Have my coffee in hand, trying to wake up this morn. Still feel a little "off" today, but definitely nothing like this past weekend. Still only going to have a short "to-do" list though so I don't push too much. Hope everyone has a great day. :grouphug: |
Hi all! Well, yesterday was a day. My mom called crying and upset that she couldn't remember what the LTD lady said and how my sister is done with that lady because she's mean, etc. So, I called this lady and kindly asked her to be more patient with mom since she hasn't been the same since surgery. She apologized and said she'd remember that. I also told her to call me from now on since my sister is about to spaz. They are supposed to meet today to discuss mom's LTD and hopefully come to a decision. They approved her STD but now they are pushing for her to appeal SSDI.
Here's the thing. We called SS and they said they did not approve the SSDI because mom could make more money off my step dad. Now, how do I explain that to LTD? They are requesting a denial letter and there isn't one. It shows she applied but no decision was made because of my step dad's pension. They (LTD) want her to have a lawyer which they will provide at no cost. That wouldn't be a problem if SSDI would pay more than her widow pension. How do you appeal something that will give you less? I'll talk with the lady today after they meet to decide mom's LTD. Hopefully they will accept SS's decision. The thing is, if mom doesn't get SSDI, LTD still pays her since widow's pension is not an offset. Hmmm, it's all about the money. To add, I drained my water heater last night to check the water since I have rust in the water. It was pouring out sludge. So my BIL who's a plumber told me to turn the water on and let it flush out. I did that and we still have brown water in my bathroom and any other area that isn't used as much. The area in my bathroom I am referring to is the hot tub that isn't used too much. Anyway, bottom line is I probably need a new water heater. I'd love to have a tankless but sure can't afford that right now with the beds we just bought. ARGHHHHHHH! Then...Jim is still not feeling well. He's sleeping more and his UTI doesn't seem to be clearing. No fever though. I put a call into the urologist and am waiting to hear from them. I thought the Leviquin would work. He's on 500mgs once a day, Maybe it's not enough? I hope they have another option and don't want him admitted. :( That's it. Everyone have a good day. For those not feeling well I pray you are better soon. |
Good Morning All :grouphug:
My mom is in town now (she still hasn't called me). I'm just going to keep doing my thing and let her know I'm here if she needs me. My brain is not working well this morning, I read everyones post and just can't get my brain to work to read the post correctly. So :grouphug: this morning to everyone. I'm fighting a 2 day long headache right now so I'm sure that's way it doesn't want to work right now :p. |
Sandy, It sounds as if you had a really ***** day yesterday. I hope that today is better, and that Jim responds to the antibiotics.
Sarah, Sorry you are hurting so much. Are you due any time off from work? Tricia, Hope the summer fatigue passes soon. The artwork you are doing for OHG sounds great. That is really generous of you. I am not too familiar with their work. I think I remember reading something about it in the past. I am going to check out their website if I can find it. Ribs sound great! Yes, I am talking about food again. I had one chicken taco for dinner last night and veg's. And I am hungry right now! We had some pretty bad storms late last night, and it looks like we could get some more rain today. But it is not as hot! I finished my second syllabus this morning. |
Took a 1.5 hour rest/snooze in hopes that I'd feel better. Still feeling funky from my right face cheek :p to my right hand finger tips. Weird. A bit better but still weird.
Sandy- Hope today is going better than yesterday did. momX7- Headache? Ouch and yuck. Hope it goes away soon. |
I just priced a water heater, whole house filter and humidifier and let's just say the water heater better last a little longer. I need all of these things but decided to drain the water heater again today and flush once more. The water today is much lighter so maybe, just maybe, I can get it to last a little longer.
I'd like to get all three at once in a few months. I think I can save for them once the CC is paid off. I think I can, I think I can, I think I can... |
its I know I can I know I can, thats how the little train made it up the mountain, i actually have a copy of that book first release, put away with my ivanhoe from 1800 and who is who in baseball 1932.
Sandy sorry about mom:hug: I would try another drain or two we drain ours out every year to keep the mineral build up from happening hello all my friends, todays tear jearker Recently was talking to social worker, here in town, about my situation one autistic who is some times not te best helper one autistic who is actually working and doing better one son is in air force one son works 10 - 12 hr days and other son is already in college going with tri mester plan, so its mostly just me doing all this remodeling and outside painting stripping weeds lawn and this morning at about ten a.m. a Group from Trinity church outside of Detroit arrived at my door They are on a church camp mission the kids comes here and help others and kids from here go there to help, well needless to say I broke down and balled my eyes out, I was so touched by their kindness, still teary eyed. the outside looks great and they may return this thurs to help with painting, i am so touched by this I am speechless as to what to say I thanked them graciously and offered to do a cook out brats hotdogs burgers, on thurs when they return (there is 12 of them) . god bless them peace |
how awesome, FRANK!! since my dx - I was told "now you need to learn to receive" ... still tough for me to deal with ... and the other one is:: if you stop someone from helping you out, you are taking away their blessing to give ... it's a tough cookie to chew on and swallow ... BUT, I believe that everything goes in full-circle ... when we give out of a pure heart, it IS returned to us, pressed down, shaken together and running over will be our blessing ... we pray and ask for these blessings - and when they DO show up, we are so humbled and overjoyed ... that's the gift .. and the secret of happiness .. |
yay frank!
just think at what wonderful lessons these kids learned. i pray they take it home and keep on helping others. better start making all the fixin's to feed that crowd. 12 teens? you may need to take a out a loan for groceries. |
Oh Frank, thank you for making my day.
|
Vonnie that is what deb was saying to me I always gave of myself always
helped neighbors all the time relatives, even complete strangers, like that time right b4 xmas when i drove that young couple, whom i never met before, all over trying to find a part so they could make it home for xmas, and a number of other times, like our 94 yr old neighbor i always check on her, run her to the store, it is very hard for me to accept help, I have always done it on my own since i was a young kid. but you are the second one to say same as deb I must allow others to give, its just so different, receiving, deb has two job interviews, today so lets hope it is a sign of changes to come. thanks everyone hey Sandy did Jim get his new bed yet? if so sorry missed the post on it. Thanks for the well wishes everyone.
Frank - You have been blessed with some awesome people. That is just fantastic and I am very happy for you. Sandy - It's pouring here but it's only rain. I am so sorry you are getting poured on. I hope things work out the best for your mom and that Jim starts feeling better soon. How long has he been on Levaquin now? I know that it took me about 3 days to feel any better when I took it for my sinus infection. I wonder if it is a slower acting antibiotic but more effective. Once I started feeling better I have done fine since. I hope the same holds true for Jim. Fin - I hope you took the nap. That would be my 1st choice. lol. Barb - Glad you got some work done. It feels great to accomplish something doesn't it. Vonn - Glad you are settling in to your new place. We want pictures - especially your view of the lake. Hi everyone else! Hope you are all doing well this evening. Oh it is pouring out right now. I had to shut my computer down and am using DDs laptop. DD18 is working and DD16 is going out to dinner with her dance team. :( DD16 doesn't have much experience driving in a monsoon. The news is saying that we are going to get from 1 to 4 inches of rain between now and 8:15 p.m. YIKES! High winds, flash flooding, etc. I just sent her out with a list of instructions. lol |
hey Tricia ... enjoying the breeze now and watching the sunset ... looks like a rainbow on it's side ... red on bottom, then orange, yellow, green ... blue and deep deep purple ...
that's the best I can do for now ... just not doing good today ... I'm trying to organize everything, have to get rid of alot of stuff ... and, I'm just overwhelmed and discouraged ... want to cry ... I feel like I'm 'in the way' .. just an excess of a life-form ... just existing ... :paperbag: sorry ... that was my insight ... more of a rant :( |

deep breaths, you can get through this, just a little more time, and you'll have your nest all arranged to your satisfaction. ask me how I know? because I STILL haven't finished moving or decorating, and it's been months. but I no longer whack myself over the head because I can't ZIP through things like I used to. my other problem is... I'm really a nut about having everything in its place... partly because I like things *neat* and partly because otherwise, I can't easily FIND stuff when I want it, if it's not logically put away. for instance, I can't STAND there for a long time hunting for the book I want on the shelf, so I solved that by alphabetizing the books by author's last name, and by type... and now it takes only a few seconds, which is good, because otherwise I'd just give UP, lol !! and it took me half a YEAR to sort stuff in 2004, when I moved. so, don't feel down or sad... just allow yourself to take ALL the time you need, to do it right, and get everything the way you want it. love and hugs, from your jungle pal, up at 4 am due to a noisy storm.:grouphug::hug: |
Thanks for the idea to organize books, Kay. May help at my house.
Of course it's time for the "what don't we want to keep" look through. Our books are taking over the house, and we're going to need more bookcases soon. LOL, the downside of having two bookworms living together. :D Luckily, there are places that take used books, so just need to box them up. LOL, when we moved into the house five years ago - we gave away five boxes of books during the move. It put only a small dent in our collection. |
two bookworms, LOL !!
I totally get you on that one... before we moved in together, *I* had 3k books, and *he* had 2k. now, we have only 500, together, and feel VERY pared down. :D Finny, there's just five sections now, animal husbandry/homesteading, sci-fi, popular novels, and cookbooks. |
Good Morning everyone! The following is a confession from a book addict:
Books are taking over my house too. I give most of my paperbacks away to my my mom and sisters and yet books continue to multiply. I now have a bookcases in every room of my house(including cookbooks on a shelf in the kitchen); two in my living room, and I am running out of space. Plus, I am tired of dusting them. I am hoping one of the local groups will have a booksale soon and I can donate them to the group. I know I am not going to reread most of these books, so why do I keep them? We do not have a used bookstore here. If we did, I probably would just buy more books.:D |
And I did not even mention all the books in my office at school.
