And Frank, how are you today?

weegot5kiz 08-06-2008 02:23 PM

still pretty sore waiting for neuro to call back but he is really busy today, the nurse informed me he had emergency this morn so is behind, still flushing with lots of water just in case, they gave me so toradol last night and some times it works sometime it doesnt so just as confused as i was last night, as far as function of kidney i called back at the er place talked to day stafff doc, she said funtion is fine thats why the other doc said its got to be back, but she also agreeed with me MS and a stone could be an issue... so sitting and hoping it eases up. How you doing is Jim any better?

FinLady 08-06-2008 03:00 PM

Frank, :hug: Sorry you're still hurting.

~~~~~
Hi all :) Not much going on today, except my friendly neighborhood muscle fatigue. Get these days every once in awhile. At least it wasn't yesterday, LOL.
So just kicking back watching movies, reading, and surfing the net a little. Should be back to my stubborn self by tomorrow. :D
NaeNae 08-06-2008 03:25 PM
Had the interview I think it went well, the Director of Nursing seemed to like me and my answers....she said she had never laughed so hard in an interview before and it was her most memorable ever!
They asked if I had questions...I said do the nurses wear scrubs or clothes? They both replied clothes except on Fridays...I said well if we don't wear clothes on Fridays then I can't work on Fridays and you don't want me to either! We all laughed, it is business casual but jeans are allowed on Fridays.
The she asked what is the one thing you are better at than ANYONE else in nursing....my reply I am the orifice queen! Got something that needs stuck somewhere I'm your gal! Seriously it was a good thing she wasn't drinking anything or I'd have been soaked!
They said they would make a decision by Friday.......
SandyC 08-06-2008 03:29 PM
Frank, I hope you hear from the doc soon. Jim is tired today but overall well. We're waiting for the neuro to call back to ask about something better than Baclofen. His legs are so tight today. We finally weened off the gabapentin and know it's not that since this was happening before. The pain isn't nerve related if that makes sense. I even gave him an extra baclofen to no avail.
Anyone here know of a better spasm med?
Renee, whoohoo! I bet they loved you!
sabimax 08-06-2008 03:38 PM
good luck nae nae,
frank take it easy..
me...well..I went to work for 6am-2pm...was home by 10am...
6-7am I was doing a crew schedule to get it done before leaving...
7am-8am..is getting ready for opening store...and at 8am we open..the store is so quiet in the mornings...usually manager is alone till 930 or 10am...
well by 745, I got a burst of Dizziness, balance gone wild, and stumbling with mind thinking, I kept going the best I could...I realized finally my hands were shaking too....so I was standing in cooler before the open...thinking maybe feel better...and I felt awful enough to wonder if maybe I would pass out..and someone find me at 930am in cooler....:eek:
so I called my girl coming in at 930..lucky me a manager, and asked her to come ASAP...then called in a crew person to come in early to catch up with her....and do my lunch time shift....she got there I was lost...went to restroom..and then started vomitting....
Did a few more things on the puter...business stuff I have before trip...tried anyhow..then I just said I gotta go....so came home...and vomitted again...
slept 3 hours...woke to feeling my legs very numb like....
funny, I called dr office...just cause usual when I get cogfog/or dizzies I dont get vomitting..so wondered if should check if could be side effects of the meds...they said they would have to call back...
so when she called I was half asleep...telling her how I felt at work..and all ...who knows what I really said as I was out of it...
she said she will call my drs nurse for info ..and call me back...as my dr and her nurse were out for day...
so I get a call back..saying that the nurse doesnt think effect of prednisone...that there is a virus going around....I said, Ok well I think this is something to do with my long term sxs....as my legs now are really numblike...she told me if worse to go to ER.....
but virus....:D not that I couldnt pick up a virus...but wow....
well up and about now a bit, but trying to not think of the to do list before trip...and do hubbys orders..stay up in our AC room resting....just getting ancy....
I am suppose to work tomorrow 7am-3pm....but I already started thinking of how to cover most of it..in case I am this way or worse....if feeling like now...I would cover my shift (the customer part) and still go in at some point..to do business stuff that I want to do before trip...as then I am off friday....till the 23rd.....
so keep me in your prayers, that I stop feeling dizzy crap before flights on Saturday...as I already take dramamine to fly...(air sick person here) but wouldnt want to travel in this condition.....ahhhhh
hugsss all, that is my day...glad I have older kids..as Mikayla is helping so much with the kids..and all....:)I am so blessed...
hugsss all, sarah:)
NaeNae 08-06-2008 05:19 PM
Zanaflex works much better for me than Baclofen....did you get the message that I called you?
sabimax 08-06-2008 05:35 PM
well feeling quite a bit better I think....head still a little lost feeling..and legs still numbish....
but tummy feels good, got appetite back..and actually after eating some bland stuff this afternoon I am having pizza now with the kids....daring my belly for sickness again I guess :eek:
Just trying to take it as easy as hubby said, but hard when things to do....but relaxing around anyhow...hugsss all, sarah
FinLady 08-06-2008 05:36 PM
Renee, Glad the interview seemed to go well.
Sarah, hope you feel better soon.
Sandy, hope the doc can find something better for Jim's spasms.
Jodylee 08-06-2008 05:40 PM
Hi again all :) Sandy - Sorry about Jim :( Zanaflex has helped me in the past.......Sarah - yuck!! I hope you feel better....... Renee - ROTFLMAO!!! They will remember you and that is half of the battle. Oh, BTW, I have this ----- stuck in my ------, can you dig it out for me? :D
SandyC 08-06-2008 05:41 PM
No I didn't. When did you call Renee? Who did you talk to? Arggghh!
I talked to the neuro and she said to take the Tizantidine three times a day and see how that works. I said "he is prescribed two a day" and she said "no, I'm looking right at it in the computer." So, I grab the bottle and look and sure enough three times a day! I think when I started weening Jim off it once I got him down to two a day and forgot to go back up! She got a good laugh and said call her in a week if he's not better. I don't think it will do much since it's just 4mg's but you never know.
NaeNae 08-06-2008 05:47 PM
Yeah the Zanaflex can cause damage at higher dosages, 4mg tid is what I take.
I talked to one of your babies...I called on my cell as I left my interview!
SandyC 08-06-2008 05:51 PM
Hmmm, Nik said it wasn't him. Was it before 10am? If so I was at the doctor's office. It must have been Chris. Or he was on the phone and forgot to tell me. The turd. :rolleyes:
What time can I call ya today?
NaeNae 08-06-2008 05:54 PM
It was about 2pm, call me about ohhhhh tomorrow LOL, going out this pm!
SandyC 08-06-2008 05:56 PM
Ok, will do! Where are you going? Somewhere fun I hope!
NaeNae 08-06-2008 05:58 PM
No to a relative of my step dads!
SandyC 08-06-2008 05:59 PM
Well, at least it's getting out which is nice sometimes. I was stir crazy this weekend. We haven't been going out much because of the dang heat.
CayoKay 08-06-2008 06:17 PM
ya shoulda SEEN mi esposo trying to re-inflate it with a bicycle pump.
and :hug: :grouphug: :hug: for Sarah, hope those sxs LEAVE soon !!
and :grouphug::hug::grouphug: for NaeNae, hope ya get the job, dearie !!
NaeNae 08-07-2008 07:50 AM
Dear Kay I hope you survive Tropical storm season in the jungle!
It is FINALLY raining here and storming this morning we needed it bad!
Was up all night with a stomach ache ugh!
Kitty 08-07-2008 07:56 AM
Morning all. We're supposed to get storms in here this afternoon. We need the rain - just not the lightning, etc. My biggest fear is that the electricity will go out and we'll have no A/C!!! :rolleyes: All our utility lines are underground so maybe that helps. Our streetlights are the old timey looking gas streetlights.
Today is supposed to be another hot one but we've got a reprieve coming this weekend. Lows in the 60's and highs in the 80's.
Kevin's girlfriend is having a birthday party for him on Saturday so Matt and I will go to that for a while in the afternoon.
Other than that I have no big plans.
Sandy, I hope Jim is feeling better. And Frank, I hope you are, too. Renee, don't get sick!! Let us know about the job and whether or not you got it. I think you'll be their choice!! :)
I think I'm going back to bed. I've been awake since 3:30 AM. Matt had to get up and be in at 5 AM. They are doing some undercover work today to try and catch a group of burglars that keep hitting a certain subdivision. When he left he looked like he could actually be one of the criminals! Guess that's why they call it undercover. :rolleyes:
mornin' Kelly.
yeah, that was my greatest fear too... and it got really bad with the constant rolling blackouts in California in 2000 and 2001.
so, I froze ziplock bags of water, and half-gallon (OJ - the kind with screw-caps!) bottles for emergencies.
ya gotta have lots of towels on hand if you use that tip though, lol !!
and I bought some of those gel headbands and kerchiefs that freeze, and a portable battery-powered FAN too !!
http://www.safetycentral.com/coboxpobaopr.html
we also had big pieces of cardboard that we put in the windows on the sunny side of the house, to keep the house from heating up
here's some other tricks for when A/C croaks in a power outage:
http://www.associatedcontent.com/art...wer.html?cat=5
PS: my son is named Matt too, lol !!
:hug:
Kitty 08-07-2008 08:51 AM
Thanks for the websites, Kay! I looked at them and there's some good stuff. I think I'm going to order one of those personal air conditioners. And stock up on batteries, too! I always forget about those and then never have them (or the right size) when I need them.
I think I'll start buying a pack each time I go to the store - that way it won't be such a hit all at once.
I feel like such a spoiled wimp worrying about the A/C going out but the heat just affects me so horribly that I'd probably have to go to a motel or something until it came back on. :( :o
FinLady 08-07-2008 09:07 AM
Good morning all. :) Having a bit of a cog fog morning. :( I enjoyed everyone's posts, but things are getting a little confusing on who did what.
Ugh! The past two days have been symptom weird for me. I even had to take a cold shower yesterday to get one to go away. :eek:
Oh well, at least I have my normal MRI check is coming up next week anyways. LOL, the regular nurse called up and said "guess what time of year it is?" :D She's a great gal and was on vacation when I got the "yadda, yadda" speech from the office. Since my neuro is MRI happy anyways when things change, I'll wait for the results.
:grouphug: Have a great day all.
weegot5kiz 08-07-2008 10:42 AM
:Wave-Hello:good morning fin, sorry you are still in a malaise,:hug: now lets see if i can help, sandy and nae nae pretty much used page 346 for their own IM service, lol And if my memory is correct chris isnt real good with messages, ironically our chris isnt too good with messages either
nae naes interview went pretty good:yahoo:
sarah is hmmm think having a few days off but was also down, not sure on this i am foggy here too
Jim is ? any better today Sandy? I hope so:)
both kelly and kay have sons named matt and are scared sh*&less of power outages, (as am I) :eek:
Kelly a hotel is a good Idea , as long as they have power.
lets see fin is in some foggy,:Head-Spin: oh wait you already know this,:rolleyes:
I am hyper :Excited:cause i want to start new med so BADDDDDDDDDDD I cant cause i am still on this pain med:Bang-Head: I am sure i fogged out on a few things too:Dunno:
Kay both Deb and myself have read your homepage, I didnt notice do you have any solar panels for stored power? or generators? like Kel mention we could always try to find a motel if it got bad where either of us are at, but your in a slightly different situation, or is solar a bad idea, too much of a canopy of trees?
Barb is having a great time I hope
Vonn I hope your are doing well today
As I also wish for everyone, a good day:Tip-Hat:
i shall return:Poke:
SandyC 08-07-2008 10:55 AM
Hey everyone! Jim is still having muscle tightness but we're hoping the Tizantidine kicks in and starts to do it's job. Other than that he's doing OK. The UTI, is there one? Who knows? We're ignoring things for now and hoping we were over protective. Of course if a fever starts I'll be commando in gear again. lol
Going to do some laundry and the checkbook today. Nik is moving some of his stuff in today. He moves back to school tomorrow. Chris, next week. :(
Vonn07 08-07-2008 11:46 AM
hey all .. I'm here!!
reading all about-chas!!
doing okay ... did I tell you that the State cashed my check for incorporating the quilt program?? .... and I'm going to 'work' as a volunteer for the company ... do all the business-end of it ... looking into website design to bring it to the world ...
oh... I do have a pix of the lakeview from inside my apartment ... will post it shortly.
FinLady 08-07-2008 11:52 AM
Vonn, cool beans!!! Glad to hear that things are going well. Can't wait to see apartment pics.
Frank, Sorry to hear your so frustrated. Seems to be part and parcel of this stuff. :hug:
Sandy, crossing fingers that the med kicks in for Jim soon. :hug:
~~~~~

My local art store is having an art show this weekend. They said they were still taking entrants, so I'm going to run down there in a little while to see what it's all about. Don't know if I ever would have thought of this without you guys and my family. :grouphug:

NaeNae 08-07-2008 11:54 AM

another clue my mother could care less about my MS....someone sent her a spam email about writing the House of Representatives about funding for MS research and she said,"who sent me this MS shi*,I don't know this person I'm just deleting it!" Then "Did you give my email to some MS related crap?"

weegot5kiz 08-07-2008 11:55 AM

cool Fin, good luck on that.

vonn also cant wait to see pics

sandy i hope the higher dose does the trick, and help ease Jims pains

renee sorry wish I knew what to say, she sure is biased against MS, is she stuck in some huge denial thing?

SandyC 08-07-2008 11:57 AM

Renee, I am so sorry. I cannot believe the way your mother acts about your ms. She must be in denial or something. Hurry up and get a place for yourself girl. :hug:

Vonn07 08-07-2008 12:31 PM

okay .. don't laugh at my *stuff* ... Tricia ... you can 'sorta' see the lake out the window!

weegot5kiz 08-07-2008 12:35 PM

your sewing table should be in front of that window or a rocking chair , you are close to the lake, i could sit there all day looking out, thanks

SandyC 08-07-2008 12:37 PM

How fricken cool is that Vonn!? The lake looks like you could jump out your window and dive right in! lol

Hey, I need a quilt. How much do you charge for a twin size, olive green color quilt?

Kitty 08-07-2008 01:00 PM

Vonn, the lake is beautiful! I'm so jealous....I want a view like that!!

I need a quilt, too. I'm serious......mine is falling apart. Would you be interested in making one for me (after you make Sandy's)? Mine would have to be a Cal King so let me know the $$.

Renee, what is wrong with your mother? Sounds like she needs to go to Oz and get a heart. :( I've never heard such an insensitive statement!

Kitty 08-07-2008 01:04 PM

Tricia, how is DD doing today? I hope things have improved for her. I'm sure you're busy taking care of her but check in when you can with an update for us.......we worry!!! :o

JustWeave 08-07-2008 01:10 PM

Well I tried real hard to stay away from here until this evening. See I have way too much fun here and then wonder why nothing gets done around the house. :confused:;) So I'm trying to work first then play in the evening if I was a good kid during the day. I did get some things done before sitting here. :D Babysteps I guess.

Vonn- love the lake view and quilts

And just like that everyone else's news bolts right out of my memory... :o

Need to get back to work anyway.

soxmom 08-07-2008 01:26 PM

Renne.....Im so sorry your mom is so insensitive to your illness.:( I
know it must be hard to be back home and trying to getit together
and make a home for your children(been there done that when my two
boys were 1 and 3). But my parents were supportive and I can imagine
how hard it is dealing with what youve been dealing with. \

:hug:s and prayers coming your way for you and your little ones.

Vonne....that view is the cooliest.:) I really think you got a nice place.

Kay.....I hope you stay safe in the storms.

Acually everyone of you be safe in all these crazy storms....I lost almost my
entire garden last week.:mad::( all that work:(

Jim and Frank feel better soon

All the rest of you....my best to you:hug::hug:

CayoKay 08-07-2008 02:33 PM

Vonnie, dahlink, your place is looking VONDERFUL !!

you've clearly been working your ***** off to whip it into shape, I'm simply amazed at the progress you've made...

oh, and the view is stunning... I'm totally jealous, girlfriend... my house is in a mango orchard, so there's no views, except various shades of green.

but the trees are nice, because they shade the place all day.

Frank, we have a leetle beet of everything here, so as not to be dependent, if supplies are interrupted.

so, we have a gas generator, a butane fridge, an electric fridge and chest freezer, solar water heater, butane water heater, solar panels on the roof, kerosene lamps, etc.

so, if power's off for an extended period (like during a hurricane) we just shuffle stuff into the butane fridge and freezer.

and we keep tanks of butane and jerry cans of gas, diesel, and kerosene on hand, plus lotsa candles.

if power's REALLY off for a while, well. we'll have a bar-b-que, I guess !!

our house is designed to be livable, cool and comfy, using no power, even in the tropics... it's built on a slight rise, to catch the breezes, and angled to catch the LEAST sun possible, with really WIDE overhanging roof to shade the windows and wrap-around porch, very high ceiling, and venting cupolas to let the hot air escape out the roof.

which is good, because I'm often fulla hot air, lol !!

Vonn07 08-07-2008 02:51 PM

hey all ... thanks .... will be PMing about the costs ...

Kelly... what's a "Cal King" ...

well - better get projects done .... bizzy bizzy bizzy ... (I feel like an elf!)

and, I'll fill my album with pix of runners and things ... and sizes to give everyone an idea ... thanks again!!

OH ... yep - if I go outside and take a wrong step ...I'd go tumbling down the hill into the lake ... Frank - I don't have a rocker ... no room ... Kay ... go ahead and print off the pic and enjoy the view too!

FinLady 08-07-2008 03:00 PM

vonn, Love the view from your apartment. It's gorgeous! Thanks for sharing the pics. :)

Renee, I'm so sorry about your mother's attitude. :( Hope you can get your own place soon. :hug:

Kay, you did a great job planning your house. That is so cool!:cool:

TK, with the others hoping your DD is doing better. :hug:

Weave, I'm addicted too. ;) Hope you got some stuff done today.

~~~~~~~
Two of my paintings are going up for the art show this Sat. :) It's just a small thing done by the art store, but it's a start. As my hubby says "baby steps", LOL.
Have a girl's night out later on tonight. So resting up before that. Hope everyone has a good evening. :)
