Morning all. Feeling a little better this morn, especially with no fever. Think it broke last night while I was sleeping.

I think I got this from hubby. He got hit with something this past weekend, but he thought it was allergies. LOL, guess not. :rolleyes: But I'm remembering to take it easy today after yesterday's nap fest.

And yeppers, I am remembering to drink plenty of fluids. ;)

MY UPDATE: My dh comes home from Bawston today.:) Gotta do some

Have you tried a hard reboot pull out the battery and hold the disconnect button for 20 seconds, might be like ours every once in a while its needed,

my update, our goat had a terrible abscess, the Vet just left after the minor surgery.

WELL let me tell you a good Doctor story...for the undx limbo ppl....hahaa

So, my primary when I went to see her assistant..and she knew I was having more problems with sxs....they call me and say they are setting me up with another specialist....a Endocrinologist!!

so this is months ago..apt was yesterday...

so I had looked up what a endocrinologist is...thought wow...dont know why I am seeing one...but remembered dr said..well since when preggo I dont have sxs..and when unpreggo I do..she will send me to this specialist since they look into hormone stuff... sounded good to me...

OK so apt is yesterday, I head out with my mom....(hour away mind you)

and I finally get into the apt....and the endocrinologist, comes in introduces himself....(now this is a class A dr finally....as he was brutally honest...and sounded like he knew what is what)

so ..he says SO SARAH, WHY DID YOUR DR SEND YOU TO US??
I said, I think due to my sxs are gone when pregnant...and they thought maybe hormonal issue!!

So, he looks over my most recent bloodwork sent to him, he asks about my sxs....we talk a while...

he then says "Sarah, to be honest with you, I have nothing for you, your bloodwork sugar wise, and thyroid wise are wonderful!! All the tests that would lead a dr to send you to an endocrinologist are good results...so really you shouldnt need further testing in my department. Sure I could run tons of tests, but nothing from your sxs leads me to believe there is a need at all to do them." Then he says....LOVE THIS....

" SARAH, MY OPINION YOUR SXS ARE NEUROLOGICAL" WOW CAN YOU BELIEVE THIS.... this is fourth dr aside from neuros that have said...neurological...the neuros then say not neurological..uggggg


so I was smart, I asked him, as a tear gets in my eye....DR in your professional opinion, you are fourth dr aside from neuros that have told me this is neurological. I have seen 3 neuros that send me away..saying not neurological or anxiety etc. In your opinion, if I was your daughter, your wife, or you..what would you do..then...

he said, he would go to Mayo clinic or UofM for medical care. He said as I seem to be a mystery, and that he doubts any around here will figure it out..if they are saying what they are.....he did ask me if I thought anxiety, and if I have heart palpitations etc, I said no to the sxs...said heck with the non dx I might be anxiety..hehe

he mentioned my busy life, but I reminded him most sxs started way back when my life was much quieter and easy going....

he then said again, sarah this seems neurological....that he would do mayo....

now only if that was as easy done as said...someday...

but nice to have another pro....say neurological as I believe it is....

flip side is...what a waste of money on the apt....glad I have insurance...but this guy is like almost $300. for a office visit...seen the slip....:eek:

anyhow..thanks for reading my interesting story....life continues to be fun....

I am weaning back on the neurontin, I feel it is giving me negative feelings...that kindof scare me.....so I am doing one a day..for a bit...then deciding if go off totally.....the tingling pain I dont want back..but gotta balance which is worse....

Sarah, :hug: I hope you find a neuro soon who can help you out when all the other docs are thinking the stuff is neurological. :hug:

As to the neurotin, with my neuro's permission I cut back to only having one a day (so it stayed in system), and the second or third as needed. Makes a big difference if you're a little sensitve to it. :hug:

ok sarah now you call the nuero and say to them why is it every other doc says its a neuro issue but you the neuros dont want to deal with it, either take care of me or give me the name a of a real nuero who wants to help paitents, talk about carp a dm the run around is uncalled for, and then get the paper work to get all your files, time for new doc

and let him know you are not happy about wasting money to a doc who immediately said from the test work that was done, that the neuro knew about showed no reason for you to be visiting this new doctor. inform him of the number of kids you have to feed and how you would appreciate him not wasting your money anymore, i get poed with stuff like this, i would raise hob nob on his keister

Frank, first it was my primary dr office that sent me to this endocrinologist..and I will let her know....wasnt needed....and my time was wasted on a hour drive...gas and all....

Yes< I am seeing a new neuro in January about hour away....but if he starts in...I will let him know...I am told neuro from many...and maybe think Mayo next if need be...tired of the carp..too...

My Update:

I had lots of fun yesterday at the GTG. :) It feels so good to see everyone and share and laugh. Everyone there is so special. :grouphug: I hope that each of you will be able to attend GTG's in the future. They are good for what ails us.

I'm working today and sooooo tired. zzzzzZZZZzzzz :Yawn: Tomorrow is my great niece's 10th birthday party. :) She's my dear sister's only grandchild and I wouldn't miss it for anything.

Sunday I'm hoping both of our dear sons can be home for dinner. That does me a world of good to be with family and friends. I'm really blessed these past few days. :circlelove:

Sarah, Sorry you are having a rough time with getting a dx. I am up to 2400mg of neurontin a day:eek:, and I am not sure if it is helping anymore. All it seems to do is make me hungry. I think that depression can be a side effect, so you probably should cut back if you are concerned to see if it helps. Of course, you have other factors that may be contributing to the way you are feeling. Hang in there! I don't know how you do it all -- family, full time work. I really admire you.

Vonn, That is great news. Have you thought about a topic for your thesis?

I rejoined WW last week, and lost 4 pounds for the first week. I am just planning on taking it easy for most of the weekend. My good news is that I am caught up with all my grading. :D I am going to see Second City tomorrow night. I have seen them twice in Chicago -- really funny. Have any of you N. a one hour drive, to meet a boat with our feed order, backed the truck up to the river, and loaded up 700 lbs of feed.

it rained all the way.

on the way back, the road was flooded (AGAIN!), and lined with buses and cars that didn't want to risk crossing it.

but we were ALMOST home, just a few more blocks, and no WAY to carry all that feed and groceries, so... across the water we WENT...

okay, piece of cake... it was only 25 feet wide, and a foot deep, no biggie.

so, we're HOME, with feed for the critters, newspapers, and that CRUCIAL staple, CHOCOLATE !!!

had three bites, and now I'm totally jazzed, wired, and inspired, and ready to go feed everybody.

Barb, good luck with WW. It's an excellent program to be on even if you aren't looking to lose a lot of weight. It's really just healthy eating. I'm relying on the LDN to curb my appetite for now but it's effect isn't as strong as it was at first....I can tell my appetite is coming back slowly but surely.

Sarah, I admire you, too. Some days it's all I can do to get up and get a shower. Not sure what I'd do if I had little ones at this stage of the game! I guess you just do what you have to do, huh?

Well, I'm going to have this evening (and probably most of the weekend) to myself. Matt is spending the night at a friends house - they have a 5K run tomorrow morning at 8 AM. Kevin is going up to Jessica's house in a little bit. They are going hiking in the North GA mountains tomorrow. It's supposed to be nice weather - today was cold and rainy.

Maybe I'll do some cooking this weekend...make some things I can freeze. I'd love to do some baking but there's nobody here to eat it but me.....so I'll find something else to occupy my time!!

I do notice the tingling pain slightly...at the once a day dose....and wow...dont want to go back to feeling that tingling pain :eek: so I think I will keep up the once a day..and if need be twice a day....and see how I do emotionally ...just for a bit..I was thinking very negative...and I am not like that at all!!

well, one is singing the ABCs the other is playing drums with beaters and a bowl....while the 9 year old is trying to watch her tv show...haha what a commotion in there....maybe I will make some tea....(as I still have a sore throat...blahhhh) and try to relax in a quieter area of house...lol...sure...that is the dream....hehe
