I think we'll buy a pumpkin today to carve for Halloween! Kevin said he'd do it...I'm no good at carving plus with my numb right hand me and a knife are not a good combination!!

I'm sitting here enjoying a cup of Dunkin Donuts coffee!! I don't ever buy it 'cos it's too expensive but Kevin went to Publix on his way home last night to get something and noticed they had it for $5.99 a bag so he bought me some! What a sweetie!! It's soooo good...not sure what they do to it but it's definitely better than the other brands.

Kay, I remembered about the eggs but I've never gotten sick before....and I've been eating cookie dough for years!! Now that I've said that I've jinxed myself so I better stop eating it now!!

Gonna be sunny and 68 degrees here today but next week the bottom is supposed to drop out and be in the low 30's and high 50's. If only it'd stay like that year round.....I'd be so happy!!

Can ya'll believe that in two weeks time we've accumulated 601 posts to this thread!!

weegot5kiz 10-26-2008 09:52 AM

Kelly we buy the DD beans and grind them each day its so good, a lot cheaper too

FinLady 10-26-2008 10:48 AM

If I forget someone sorry. A little slow this morn, so the brain is kinda stuck, LOL :D

Renee, Glad your mom is doing more now. It's sometimes amazing the change in attitude when you decide to strike out on your own. Been there, done that ;) Hope this flare subsides soon and you're feeling better. :hug:

Deb, LOL. We have a rule that has stood since we got married. My hubby gets to sample whatever I'm baking, because I quite often bake stuff for others and don't want him to steal any. :D

Frank, Don't worry about trying to remember all our names. Of all people, we understand the block in the mind sometimes. :hug: But appreciate the try.

Kelly, that's what I forgot, a pumpkin to carve. Kinda hesitant to get one before the 31st. Been a lot of pumpkin smashing going on in our neighborhood this year. :(

Kay, hope the rain stays away to give you guys a chance to dry out a little. :rain:

~~~~~~~~~~
Hi all. :) Sitting here sipping my coffee. Hubby let me sleep in, and probably needed it.
Hubby fixed my car last evening, but then my battery died. LOL! Oh well, it survived two replacements of the alternator due to a recall and then them messing up the work of the recall. 5 years is a good life for a car battery. Gonna have to get one from the parts store today.
Other than that, not quite sure what we're up to today.
Oh got the final piece of my puzzle, so should be ready to go business wise. :yahoo: Hopefully will have my stuff together and offically ready the weekend after the elections.
Hope everyone has a great day today!:grouphug:
SandyC 10-26-2008 11:15 AM
Good morning everyone! This week has gone by so fast I can't keep up. My mom said after a certain age the days go faster than a possum in heat! lol
I have read each and every post and it's good to see everyone here and those who have been gone for a bit. :grouphug: to all.
Hey Frank, no longer riding on the merry-go-rouuuuuuunnnnnddddd...I just had to let it go.
Renee, :hug: I hope you get that camera charged so we can see the house.
Kelly, they have new battery operated carvers you can buy at Walgreens or Walmart! Way cool. hahaha
Jenn, glad your car is fixed and all you need is the battery. I am so excited for you and your new business!
Deb, Jim licks everything I make. lmao
Kay, whooohoo, I am hearing "Who'll stop the rain?"
Sarah, I hope you get some rest later today. :hug:
Momma, I can't get used to your new name and forget it's you. What does your name mean? :o
Everyone hiding in the shadows :hug:
I am chilling today. I may pick up the paint brush to start the basement. I'll be glad when I can pick up the smaller one. I just don't have the motivation just yet for some reason. :(
Jim is playing on the computer later. He's sleeping now even though we just woke up at 10am. I think we contracted Wiz's sleep in virus. lol
barb02 10-26-2008 11:24 AM
Good Morning everyone! (that is how I cover everyones's name, Frank:rolleyes:) Hope everyone is having a decent Sunday.
Kelly, It is 57 degree here tight now; supposed to go up to 61. The next few days are going to be in the 40s. BRRRRRRRRRRRR!
I do not have anything planned for today. I have been putting away capri's and getting out cord's. I am making a pork and sauerkraut dinner in the crock pot for tonight. I put chopped up apples and caraway seed in it too. It's a low point dinner.(WW)
I enjoyed Second City last night. It was there traveling group, but still pretty funny.
I need to go get a pumpkin too. I have put out my Halloween decorations. My sister from Austin, BIL, and adorable, smart, funny niece are going to be here this weekend. They are flying in for a wedding. Anya, who is almost 3, is going to be a butterfly for Halloween. She originally wanted to be Darth Vader, and she told me that I should dress up like Yoda.:eek:
soxmom 10-26-2008 11:36 AM
barb02 10-26-2008 01:10 PM
:hissyfit:I was chatting with my mother who is 80 and lives by herself. I call her every day and she lives near my brother, sister, and their families. She still drives and goes to a variety of senior get togethers throughout the week. She has arthritis and a variety of other health problems that you would expect when you are 80.
Well, her legs are really bothering her and I get that; I am sympathetic. But today (and most days) she goes on and on how her legs and knees are stiff at night and in the morning and how she has trouble walking at those times and she might need a came. But that would be horrible!!! Does she not get who she is talking to? A 51 year old who is using a cane and who does not know if she will be walking in 5 years!!!
I usually just ask her what she has been doing, but then I get the whole saga of her pains... And only occasionally does she ask me how I am feeling and then she can't hear me and talks over me.
Okay -- rant is over.She does this to both of my sisters and brothers too. I guess you just get more and more self absorbed as you age? :deadhorse: We just have to love our mothers.:p
sabimax 10-26-2008 01:46 PM
snow possible tonight :eek: flurries anyhow...
ahhhh
DD coffee..mmmmmmm gotta go get a bag soon...ran out...just last year they finally started selling it around here....otherwise been DD free for long time....:eek:
I am thinking of taking a small break..maybe come check in once or twice a week....although I would have sooo much to read then..lol....
but sometimes I get on here...or other computer stuff...and read and read and read...nice for quiet time..but not as productive as I could use more time reading to the kids...or hanging with them....more....taking walks more often...
anyhow...thinking about it...I will let you know later...but I would still pick two days a week or one and check in....anyhow...hugssss gotta go...tummy hurts...and want to eat and try to nap...hugsss,sarah
FinLady 10-26-2008 02:30 PM
Sarah, totally understand the need to take a break from time to time. :hug:
Barb, LOL! Parents are like that sometimes. Gotta love 'em. :rolleyes:
Sox, Sorry to hear your munchkin had a nosebleed last night. Also sorry to hear about your DD's sprain, but glad it wasn't broken. :hug:
~~~~~

My car is back, yea!!! But OMG car batteries are almost double what it cost the last time we had to replace one! :eek:

Gonna take it easy the rest of today and make my to do list for the week. There's a lot of projects around the home I want to get done, so gonna spend some time breaking stuff down.

GMTA, baybeegirl!!!

good thing I'm on a farm, 'cause I sing LOUD...

sometimes me and DH alternate verses, from different parts of the farm, like a demented duet.

one of today's songs was:

Long as I remember, the rain been comin' down.
Clouds of myst'ry pourin' confusion on the ground.
Good men through the ages, tryin' to find the sun;
And I wonder, still I wonder, who'll stop the rain?

:D:cool::D

Kitty 10-26-2008 03:08 PM

Good evening everyone~ I am wiped out from this wkend. Hopefully, AMN is home and resting by now. My jaw still hurts from laughing.
I've stayed in all day and feel like a slug!

I could use a brownie~ Uh, but I prefer mine baked.

It is soooo windy and cold here, but the news said 63 by Thurs. YAH!!!!

Hope everyone rests well tonight and I'll catch ya's on the flipside.
:grouphug:

weegot5kiz 10-26-2008 07:24 PM

AfterMyNap 10-26-2008 08:33 PM

Hey all, I can't stay awake enough to catch up with everyone, so, Yay! :yahoo: Oh, no, I'm so sorry. :( Thank goodness! :Dancing-Chilli: Good one, LOL! :ROTFLMAO: Golly, you guys are swell. :grouphug: C'mere, ya' little dork, http://www.futurelooks.com/forums/im...ilies/slap.gif

Whew, it's hard to keep up with you all.:rolleyes:

Yep, the rumor is true, got home at about 4:00pm and it was a rough drive, the wind was seriously sweepin' down the plains and I had to drive with both my hands!:mad: That's actually kind of fatiguing on my soft little hands that got smacked 55 times last night. My face still hurts too.

Oy, I came home to high winds and huge, mushy hail/sleet/snain about ankle deep. Blech, get me out of heeeeeeeere!!!!!!!!!!:hissyfit:

NaeNae 10-26-2008 09:04 PM

Should have carved a pumpkin cause I did a painting instead and I hate it! Reason number one why I should not paint when in a flare! Its kind of a nighttime winter scene with a lake and mountains and evergreen trees, the trees turned out ok but the mountains suck I think....oh well with all of the paint it should go up in flames nicely on the burn pile!

Frank we are still debugging!

weegot5kiz 10-26-2008 09:20 PM

sorry you are still debugging Renee, hows work been, have not heard much from you lately other than, the new place. i hope you and the kids are doing well:hug:

NaeNae 10-26-2008 09:42 PM

Work is good but exhausting I worked only a half day Friday and still had almost 10 hours of overtime! And it isn't even flu season yet!

weegot5kiz 10-26-2008 09:55 PM

well, yeah work sucks but it is whats needed at present time for kiddies and you, Am glad you still arent looking for work, I know this is fruitless but try not over doing it, with the MS bs

JustWeave 10-27-2008 08:22 AM

Mornin' all you sleepy heads. I can't possibly be the first one to post for the day at a little after 9 eastern time. :confused: I'll bet someone posts while I work on writing this novel. :p

The guys survived their end of week school camping retreat. I survived the weekend. :rolleyes:

I'm seeing carpet in my studio I haven't seen in forever. Unfortunately doing so means covering other sections of carpet for now. I am making the good kind of progress in there though. It is one of those going to get worse before it gets better deals. :(

Plenty to do so I better get moving.

FinLady 10-27-2008 08:37 AM

Morning all. :) It's a dreary day outside my window as I sip my morning cup of coffee. Lots of wind last night as the temps dropped. So glad hubby fixed car during the weekend and had some decent temps at the time.

Hope everyone has a good day today. :grouphug:

~~~~~
Kay, sorry to hear the rain came back. Stay safe. :hug:
Weave, Glad you survived the weekend. Hope your projects keep going ok.
DM and AMN, glad you guys had fun. :)
Renee, really hope this flare passes soon. :hug:
barb02 10-27-2008 08:48 AM
Good morning everyone!
BRRRRRRRRR! Sun has come out here, but it is still windy.
Called in sick today. My claases will be happy to get a day off.
I have been nauseated since last night, and I am so tired. I have not been able to sleep too well for the last several nights, and I am taking ambien. I think it has quit working. I just wish I could fall asleep naturally. I have not been able to do so for over a year.
CayoKay 10-27-2008 09:10 AM
dang that Benadryl (using it for dozens of mosquito bites, with my numbness, I never *knew* was being attacked, whoops!)
anyway, the Benadryl made me sleep so soundly, I must've gotten into a *bad* position, and I can hardly walk or stand this morning...
oh, my aching back, wah wah wah!
not a good choice to have to make, itching madly, or aching badly!
:(:o:(
gotta go, work to do, back later, love yas!
:hug:
yeahbut 10-27-2008 09:30 AM
Good Morning All!
We had terrible weather all weekend - lost the internet most of the day yesterday and Saturday night. The satelite doesn't like heavy rain! Go figure :eek: We had high winds (60+mph) and lots of rain! My dad has a weather station for the Nation Weather Service and measured 2+" on Sunday morning (that would of been Saturday morning - Sunday morning) and this morning another 2.9". I know it doesn't compare to Kay but for us it was a lot in a 2 day period.
Spent most of the weekend running to see my parents & DBF mom. Of course they are in separte directions so end up doing one one day and the other the next!
We are getting ready for Deer Season which starts on Saturday!
I need to get busy finishing up my last Algebra take home test! :yahoo::Dancing-Chilli: I am going to be so happy to see this class over!!! :D
Have a great day everyone!
:hug:
weegot5kiz 10-27-2008 09:48 AM
good Morning ladieshttp://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/greet009.gif
I have been up for a while now 6am, did my meds feel so so and soaked in a hot bath, pretty sure thats not a great way to start a day, feel sluggish might be the weather might be i like to blame other things instead of my lungs:rolleyes:
I need coffee debating on what to do today thought of taking deb to long grove and window shop and check out the old town. not sure its her day off and dont want her to exert herself
so shall be back with mojo juice
happy Monday
peace
Kitty 10-27-2008 10:00 AM
That's sweet of you, Frank. I'm sure Deb would enjoy doing anything as long as she got to spend the day with you. You don't need to be exerting yourself, either! :rolleyes:
I remember when Tim and I would have a day off together....we'd sleep in and then sometimes go to the shooting range (he loved to target practice) and then we'd go "window shopping" for cars. He loved sports cars and almost bought a Mustang Cobra back in '99 but decided against it. Wouldn't that have been a sight....working at GM and driving a Mustang to work!! He'd have never heard the end of it there! I told him I'd have to drive it if we got it....:p With an almost 17 year old son then I doubt either of us would have been driving it much!!
I sure do miss those days. I hope ya'll have a great time whatever you decide to do! :)
weegot5kiz 10-27-2008 10:10 AM
:hug:Kelly:hug:
weather is a changing quick here, drag drag drag, I dont want winter
I hope everyones weekend went smooth, and yall enjoyed yourselves.
coffee is slowly brewing em smell that fresh ground mojo juice slowly brewing, as the aroma slowly drifts through the quiet house, reachin Deb and i in our bed waking us slowly, well her slowly I been up for hours
LOL! That sounds like hubby and me. :) Except now it's bikes for him instead of cars. I'm still the sports car lover tho.
Frank, take care of yourself. An outing sounds like fun, but don't push too hard. :hug:
Barb, Sorry to hear you don't feel good today. :hug:
Char, good luck on the test. :)
I admire your Dad's dedication... we have a rain gauge, but we never remember to *check* the darn thing!
:o
Vonn07 10-27-2008 10:18 AM
hey Kelly - what a fun memory .. I remember going truck shopping for KENWORTHs with my dad, because my brother nor my mom would!! I loved it!
had a windy, chilly day with the trick-or-treaters yesterday ... I got home about 4 and was in jammies ... tried to rest ... but, today - feel a bit nasally ... so, more dayquil ... it's 40 now ... and windy ... but absolutely beautiful looking out!
have a great day .. I can barely talk ... good thing all I have to do is type to participate in class ...
glad to hear you stayed home, Barb!!
good luck on the algebra test, Char ...
yesterday - my friend gave me some peach black tea while I was outside ... for not being much of a tea conniseaur ... I had 2 cups and actually liked it!
isn't it fun to learn new things everyday??
SandyC 10-27-2008 10:22 AM
Morning all! I am not even going to try to post on everyone! You guys are busy little bees last night and this morning! Good to see everyone!
It's 37 frickin' degrees here and I am sick of this carp! My son called me and told me it was blowing winds and snow in Dekalb. I kept the shades down because I didn't want to see it. I did think the roof was coming off it was so windy!
If we could, we'd move farther south but right now we'd get nothing back from the house. So, looks like a few more winters here. Ugh
I didn't get to the painting yesterday but will attempt it again today. hahaha
Have a good day everyone! :hug:
Kitty 10-27-2008 10:33 AM
Hey Sandy....I'll trade houses with ya!!
It's very windy here, too, but the high today should be in the low 50's. Tomorrow morning though will be in the low 30's. Yea!!! I love it! My sx will take a hike for a while now!
weegot5kiz 10-27-2008 10:36 AM
My dad has been doing it now for 25+ years for the National Weather Service and before that my Grandfather did it. He has a whole system that the NWS put in for them. Rain guage, temp guages and a special phone to call it in every morning. My dad takes pride in it. Since he has such a hard time seeing now my mom does most of the work for it but Dad still calls it his!
