TGIF! That is all I really wanted to say.

Frank and Jen; Hope you have a better day and night than last night. :grouphug: Frank, I hope the meds help!!!

Kelly, Enjoy the cooler weather. I had to wear a sweather today to school.

Wiz, I am glad that you got to vote early. I wonder who you voted for?:winky:

Kay, Be careful!

Soxmom, Sandy, Weave, Vonn, Sarah, Trish, Char, Renee, Holly, Twinkletoes, Debbie, D, Frank's Debbie, Lurkers, and anyone I missed -- I hope you are all doing ok and have a decent weekend. For those of you that are having a rough time, I am saying a group prayer. (I cheated and looked at Frank's post. Of course, he forgot me.:( I'll forgive him this time since he is on steroids.:D)

My update: My head is still burning but have not experienced the sharp pain in a few days. Increase in neurontin does not seem to be making a difference. I have been using my cane all of the time most of this week, but my leg seems a bit better today. I am going a pumpkin patch tomorrow and to an Amish restaurant for lunch and out to dinner with friends to a Japanese restaurant that is in Champaign ,IL for dinner. ON Sunday, I plan on reaquainting myself with my sofa.

FinLady 10-17-2008 01:47 PM

Barb, :hug: Sorry to hear the head still feels like it's burning, but glad to hear the pain has lessened. Hope you have a good time this weekend.

Holly, hope the appointment when ok. :hug:

Kay, wow, that's a lot of water! Hope you don't float away. :Sinking:

Wiz, hope you survive the crazy work day.

Frank, :hug: hope you feel better soon.

Everyone, :grouphug::grouphug:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hi all. :Wave-Hello:
Having an achy time right now. Managed to fall asleep around 2 and woke up around 8. Been trying to take a nap, but still too sore to fall asleep. Whether I move or sit still, I'm in pain. :( It's that constant type that's just enough to be annoying and uncomfortable. :Poke:
And it moves!. Sometimes legs, sometimes arms, then the chest, then all over. Rinse and repeat. Will definitely call doc on Monday if weekend doesn't improve. (yep, it's bad enough I'm considering it, lol)
Next step is seeing if a bubble bath helps. I've tried everything else I could think of. :Scratch-Head:
weegot5kiz 10-17-2008 01:54 PM
good idea a warm bath may help ease the pains and not sure i would nap this late in the day, anywho say Hi to me say around one a.m. ok :grin: hope you feel better real soon:hug:
SandyC 10-17-2008 02:45 PM
morning all you sleepy-heads ... other than Sarah ... she ran off to work! EARLY!!
opened the drapes and the LAKE IS GONE!!!
it's SO foggy here that I can't see the lake ... and it's just 10 yards from my window ... nothing ... the world is white all around me ... if I look way UP - straight up ... then I can see some blue ...
have a great day everyone ... I'll work at getting my head out of the clouds sometime! LOL
FinLady 10-18-2008 09:06 AM
Morning all :)
The bubble bath yesterday helped some, so probably a form of spascity I've never had before. Fun, fun. :rolleyes: But did manage to get some chores and painting in afterwards, so won't wait that long again if I'm feeling sore.
Supposed to be nice today, so hubby and I might do some running around later. But right now, just enjoying my morning coffee. :)
Hope everyone has a great weekend!!! :grouphug:
I do, too, Jenn!! it's like I'm in my own little world ... and I can do what I want when I want ... don't like driving in it either!!
uh-oh ... now I see more blue - just above the tree tops ...
UPDATE::
20 minutes later ... the fog is gone and the lake is like a glass mirror! WAH how beautiful!!
CayoKay 10-18-2008 10:01 AM
ahhhhhhhh, Vonn... I just *love* foggy mornings!
since I'm from San Francisco, the Foggy City by the Bay.... my favorite thing to do as a child was sit and watch the fog rolling in from the ocean, over the coastal range, and into the suburbs.
it looked almost like curling waves of water, breaking on the beach...
here in the jungle, we have a thick soupy morning fog, and the cohune palms and ferns drip... it's a magical time, very primeval...
the birds all hush, and the pond laps quietly, as the flocks of ducks swim around in the misty silence of early morning.
:cool:
weegot5kiz 10-18-2008 10:02 AM
good morning been up a long time didn't want to wake deb with lap top, Fin glad it helped some, and you are not weird I love fog I love windy weather especially at night and storms lol especially the wind for me see here is one of them there tag poems I wrote tag your it and you are given a subject and have to write a poem right then and there
"Real Windy Nights"
The breeze blows through the trees so strong
The rustling of the leaves and bowing of branches like a song
Raising the emotions deep within my heart and my soul
Some deep yearning from deep within me, so far below
I want to hold you, and mingle as one in the evening breeze
I want to hold you, and love you lifted by the songs of the trees
Come join me under the stars, and moon, and make me feel all right
Come join me, hold me, love me, on this really windy night
any who lol vonn you scared me when you said lake was gone thought it froze over, too soon for that, and i don't care if you like cold weather I don't lol, i thought you were going to say it iced ::::Shew: glad you didn't
trees are looking so beautiful around here
curious sandy when you said you are home now, did you mean you went out somewhere? SONICS????????:rolleyes::wink::rolleyes:
peace
Vonn07 10-18-2008 12:44 PM
hey Frank ... it was quite chipper ... but not enough to ice over ... not yet!! LOL (but SOON!)
SandyC 10-18-2008 12:46 PM
Hey all! Just got through mowing the lawn AGAIN! What's up with that? I also trimmed and cut and now to put it all away. *sigh*
Frank, I meant I was back from being away. lol I didn't go far, just around the corner to pick up Chris and take him back to get his car. The T-rod was messed up. Dekalb is notorious for pot holes.
Anyway, can't stay on. I have to get Jim taken care of and then clean the garage. Yes, I am doing it today no if and or buts about it. hahaha
Sarah, if you ever want to share the site I would love to see her film. I feel like I know her through you. :hug:
:grouphug:
weegot5kiz 10-18-2008 12:59 PM
yadda yadda yadda
lol
hollym 10-18-2008 01:21 PM
Well, I had a "wonderful" afternoon of tests that would do interrogators at Gitmo proud. I would have spilled national secrets to get them to stop any of them. I had a hearing test, vestibular evoked myogenic potentials, rotary chair test, electronystamyogram (sp?), neuro exam, etc. I lost track after nearly passing out an nearly puking a time or two. I actually started crying in the rotary chair test. I was there from noon until 4:30.
The verdict was that only the hearing test was normal. He said everything else was very abnormal. It showed that one of the nerves that runs from the brain to the ear is not working at all. It is cranial nerve VIII and there are two parts of that nerve on each side. I guess one controls hearing and one controls balance. Well on the left side, the part that controls balance is not working at all.
He said that whatever is causing all the white spots in my brain probably got to this nerve, too. He is ordering PT to retrain my brain to use the balance system on the good side. He said that the brain can do that and that I don't need both. He also rx'd Klonipin to help with the dizziness and unsteadiness that I get in stores with a lot of visual stimuli and fluroescent lights.
All in all, it was a good thing, but I hated the testing. At least it sounds like there is something they can do to help me.
I didn't read up on anyone else's posts yet, so I hope you are all doing OK.
SandyC 10-18-2008 01:35 PM
Frank, you should be in the hospital. Pneumonia is one of the worst things a person with ms can have. Heck, back in the day they said it was ms's worst enemy. Listen to me and listen now, gently but with an open heart. Deb wants her husband around for a long time. She didn't marry you to lose you at an early age. She loves you and worries more than you know. I know, she knows, it's heartbreaking to watch our husbands so sick. Listen (in my Obama voice), you only get a few chances in life. Frank,the guy with ms, (Mccain, lol), if the doctor says you should be getting IV's and meds in the hospital, please don't ignore them.
Jim says be brave and get in the hospital before you get so sick you don't have a choice. He said Frank, don't be a hero. (remember that song?) You are always worried over everyone but you don't seem to be worrying over yourself. Now, *SMACK* Look at my siggy, maybe that will help you understand how we feel.
Ok, off my soapy box. Deb :hug:
Vonn07 10-18-2008 01:35 PM
hey Holly ... sorry about all those tests ... I don't like any either .. because usually at THAT time, nothing is being abnormal ... until I walk outside AFTER the appointment ...
hopefully they'll be able to help you!!
FRANK ... :Oops: whispering 'You're suppose to STAY in bed! or you're gonna get it from Debbie!!'
Sandy - um, the garage?? again??
SandyC 10-18-2008 01:40 PM
Vonn, I've been "supposedly cleaning" it for days. lol
Vonn07 10-18-2008 02:10 PM
Sandy ... you're going to have to FREE yourself from the garage one of these days!!
I like watching these home makeovers when they re-organize the garage! should I make a call??
SandyC 10-18-2008 02:20 PM
Please? lol
Vonn07 10-18-2008 02:52 PM
sorry .. they 'said' that you'd be better at what you want done!! LOL
Debbie D 10-18-2008 02:54 PM
FRANK---Get thee to a doc or ER...dying from pneumonia isn't the promise you made to your wife...when you said "I do"...:Noooo:
You need to take care of yourself...if not for you, then for Deb. Be a good hubby and do as she asks, okay?:Poke:
Sandy, I bet that your garage project is huge...I know ours always is (my DH is a drop-and-run guy, so it takes twice as long to find stuff). Every autumn, I get sick of the mess and ask nicely if he would straighten the garage. Then, after a while, I'll go out to see how he's doing, and he's looking at an old tool he'd found under the junk, just looking it over...that's when I roll up my sleeves and dig in. He seems to work much faster when I start making a trash pile, and it's all his favorite things!! Then we can go back and forth about what we're going to keep.:mf_swordfight:
CayoKay 10-18-2008 04:05 PM
Debbie, my husband doesn't put away HIS toys either!
Sandy, back in the day was the time when my great aunt had MS (she was my grandmother's sister)
Frank, my great aunt DIED of pneumonia... Sandy's right, it was the main cause of death for people with MS in the 50s.
so Frank? GETCHER butte back in BED, dude!
********************
okay, y'all know how I've been whining about the rain that hasn't stopped?
and the bridges and ferries and road closures and all, in my neck of the woods?
well, HERE's what's been going on (some pictures my guest took two hours ago):
http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/l...ALMOPAN015.jpg
Our outdoor vegetable market in San Ignacio, Belize, empty & forlorn
http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/l...ALMOPAN014.jpg
The Macal River at San Ignacio, near the Vegetable Market
see those cars off in the distance, on the other side of the water?
Well, that's the other river bank!
The river's SUPPOSED to run in its bed, but now it's a RIVER WILD!
The channel is wide and very deep, and I had a hard TIME imagining that this could ever flood...
Anyway, what you're looking at here is the bridge, but you can't even SEE it, it's so far underwater!
this is our area in the news:
REGION 9: ON THE MACAL RIVER AT CHALILLO RESERVOIR LEVEL AT 6:A.M. WAS 2.66m ABOVE SPILLWAY AND AT MOLLEJON 2.21 m ABOVE THE SPILLWAY AND FALLING. NEAR CHAA CREEK LEVELS ARE RECEDING. AT 6:00 A.M. LEVELS NEAR SAN IGNACIO LEVELS ARE 4.77 METRES ABOVE THE LOW LEVEL BRIDGE AND RECEDING. ON THE MOPAN RIVER NEAR BENQUE VIEJO TOWN LEVELS HAVE EXCEEDED BOTH HURRICANES MITCH AND KEITH STAGES AND IS PEAKING AT THIS MOMENT.
http://www.hydromet.gov.bz/Hydromet_Bulletin.htm
4.77 meters? hmmm, that's around 12 feet... so that's how deep under water our bridge is!
http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/l...ALMOPAN046.jpg
The Mopan River, a few blocks from my house
http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/l...ALMOPAN026.jpg
The bridge at Bullet Tree, unsafe, except for 4WD
http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/l...ALMOPAN017.jpg
Downtown San Ignacio, under water
http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/l...ALMOPAN006.jpg
Benque, the village next to ours, where the river runs alongside the main highway.
on the left is the Mopan River, and on the right is the hwy, oops, I mean, it's MORE of the river!
:rain: :Oops: :rain: :Oops: :rain:
sorry the pix are so large, I don't have the tools to resize them on this computer... apologies for blowing up the page, kiddies!
weegot5kiz 10-18-2008 04:33 PM
~~~~

Had a reality check today. Feeling a little down, but have plans in place to move forward from here. Hubby and I had a long talk about some things that need done and changes to be made. He also reminded me that no matter what, he's here for the long haul. :)

So going to take a nap here soon. Been a bit of an emotional day, but think I can see a light at the end of the current tunnel.

Hope everyone has a great evening. :grouphug:

sabimax 10-18-2008 04:44 PM

everyone I will be careful eventually Thank You.I give in but not without trying to correct it first, matter a fact its time for another breathing treatment, drinking plenty of fluids doing my meds and resting:lookaround:finally

SandyC 10-18-2008 06:06 PM

I'm done!!! Whoohoo! I still have too much but all is picked up and put away and lined up. The lawn mowers are shoved to the back and the snow blower in their place. I am hoping this sends a message to my grass to not even think about growing again. lol

Frank, I'm watching you. lol Tell Deb to call me if she needs reinforcements. Don't be surprised if you get a call from Jim if you don't start getting better. hahaha

Sarah, thank you for sending the link. You favor Madeline. I love the pics from this September. She looked happy to have you there. It's so unreal that she passed away so soon after. The blessing pics made me tear up but in a good way. :hug:

Kay, I wouldn't come down and make you clean, Frank's teasing. I'd sit you down with a cold one and do the work for you. :hug:

Ok, I have to go clean the kitchen and make dinner. I have left over hot wings so I may just heat them up.

:hug: to everyone!

sabimax 10-18-2008 06:42 PM

Glad you peeked thru Sandy...and anyone else...go back and grab the link...I love sharing my sister...hugsss all, sarah (yes she looks pretty darn good for being that saturday..and passing overnight monday to tuesday)

weegot5kiz 10-18-2008 08:32 PM

here in hallmark land we got a holiday called sweetest day, which is today

"Happy Sweetest Day"
my darling love my darling wife
you've given me love given me life
do you remember what i said at our start
you are so beautiful, you woke a sleepy heart
we been trough a number of trials and errors
but as anyone knows a lot of these are common fears
any relation has its moments be them good or bad
remember what your mom said never go to bed mad
best wedding gift I ever received and cherished so well
you know no matter what i say before we met, I fell
I truly fell for you and your loving heart
and have loved you from the start
so it is to you my love i wanted to say
I love you Deborah, Happy Sweetest Day:hug:

ewizabeth 10-18-2008 09:24 PM

That was nice Frank. :)

Hi everybody, happy Saturday night! :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

I got a few things done today, though I slept till 11am of course.

I played with Rocky and he had some catnip. Now he's napping on DH's lap so his day has been good.

I vacuumed out the car and sprayed with ScotchGuard. It's a light colored interior so I plan on doing that a couple of times a year.

I hung up a pastel drawing by my late sister Laura. It's done in purples and is a self portrait of herself when she was a toddler getting into the bathtub, her heinie is showing, lol. It's a very pretty drawing, one of her first as she experimented with pastels. I think that if she'd lived she would've done very well with her art, she was so talented.

I hung this one in the downstairs bathroom that doesn't have a tub or shower. I figured if I hung it upstairs the steam from the shower would damage it. Maybe I'll be able to take a pic of it and post a link.

I also filled the bird feeder and cleaned and filled the bird baths. Tomorrow I'll probably mow the lawn after church one last time for the season (I hope) if it's nice outside.

I do so much better energy-wise with Provigil. I'm glad I started taking it again. I started out with just once or twice a week at 50mg, now I'm up to 3-4 days. Maybe someday I'll take it everyday like the doctor wants me to. :o
