I've watched DOOL since I was in school. Yup, you are right... Hope is a Granny now. Cracks me up how they never age and wear full make up to bed. I know, I know.... it's television. Oh and GI John is coming back. Made MY DAY!!! woohoo!

Caroline Rhea hosted The Biggest Loser B4 and I could hardly take her, so am glad to see Alli hosting.

As sands thru the hourglass,
So, are the Days of Our Lives.

Back to our regular scheduled thread.....;)

Taffy 01-02-2008 08:58 PM

Fine...I will admit it...I used to watch DOOL. Gasp* Yes, it is true. Then, I would stop and later when I could watch it again I found that I had missed nothing of the story line!:D

MSacorn 01-02-2008 11:29 PM

I agree Alison is a much better host then Caroline. I watched the couples BL and think it will be very very interesting too. The first team off was from 'round here. They've gotten more then their 15 minutes of fame thanks to the local NBC station. So far she has lost 35 lb and he has lost 70 lbs.

doydie 01-03-2008 12:50 AM

Wow, I'm proud of him. He didn't have much of a 'Biggest loser' attitude on the show. I'm glad that he listened to that wake up call. The previews for next week show some drama from the couple with the little baby. I bet it is very hard for both mom and Dad to be away from him.

DM 01-03-2008 07:48 AM

I agree Doydie~ How hard that must have been to leave that lil one. But, guess their desire to be healthy and be around for that little one was strong enough. Haven't picked a fave couple yet; I like to wait a couple of wks to see their true colors. Hey, I made a funny! Their true colors!!!

haha and they are color coded!!! It's too early for me to try and be witty.

:p

Well, that explains ALOT!!! :Bang-Head:

doydie 01-04-2008 12:50 AM

Celebrity Apprentice started tonight. Interesting, can't spell her name, she wanted the challenge to be all business and not play on their celebrity status. She soon found out that was how to get the money. And Gene Simmons won the challenge because of it. i can't imaging someone paying $5,000.00 for a hot dog. But I guess Trump was sort of counting on the Play Mate to call her boss for a $10,000.00 hot dog. anyway, the paly mate was the first to hear the infamous words 'you're fired'. I will miss the interactions in the mansion. And the winning team was able to watch the boardroom on closed circiut TV!

DM 01-04-2008 08:46 AM

Oh Doydie, I am so disappointed w/myself. I watched too! ANother reality show for me. I am an addict! I only tuned in to see the celebrities, as I literally DO NOT like THE DONALD. Have you ever watched Gene Simmons reality show, "Family Jewels"? He is really a great businessman and has always been a hands on Dad. Nothing like his onstage personna.

Omarosa can go home anytime; I do not like her.

doydie 01-04-2008 11:59 PM

DaisyMay, just take a deep breath and relax. Then change the channel to watch "Crowned, the Mother of all Pageants". Yep, another reality show. It takes Mom and daughter as a team up against other Mom and daughter teams. They go through challenges, rewards and then at the end of each show after healthy critique, a 'desashing' ceremony. It's better than all the reruns.

doydie 01-09-2008 12:23 AM

Well Biggest Loser was on tonight. I like the couples, they have a built in support group. I feel sorry for the couple that went home tonight. Of the two couples up for vote, one was a married team and the other ex spouses who still cared for each other but didn't live close to each other. So the voting teams voted for the married team because they knew they would support each other.

They said that the winning team tonight would get some sort of reward but they didn't say what. My TV Guide for next week says that a team has immunity. I wonder if that is the reward. The two trainers trained them together this week and most of the weight lost was very small numbers. Bob said they may have to rethink about them training together.

I watched American Gladiator. I remember that show from way back. The only part I don't like is Hulk Hogan. I think he's a little fake in his interviews. I know even without MS that I could never do any of those challenges.

Bruno and Carrie Ann Dance Wars started this week. I don't know what the format will be. They formed the final group but I don't know if they will be judged as two teams, individually or what. I don't think anything has been said.

American Idol starts next week. It is on opposite Biggest Loser and it is the audition rounds. If I have to pick what show that I can't watch or DVR, it would be American Idol just because it's the audition rounds and half of what they show are the terrible ones. The interview in TV Guide did say that Simon Cowell does give out more compliments this year.

Have I missed any reality shows? Oh, Celebrity Apprentice. Very conservative looking Playboy Playmate voted off, she didn't call Hugh Hefner for financial assistance. Oh, new episode of Project Runway tomorrow night.

I'm in trouble now. I'm interested in all these reality shows and some of my regualr prgrams are coming back on. Mainly Kyle XY and Prison Break. And the Law and Order series will be new now and ER is back. And Survivor starts in Febuary

DM 01-09-2008 07:06 PM

Hi Doydie~ I watched the Biggest Loser too! I was surprised the wt losses weren't more. I also watched Dance War and I am hooked.

Bad DM. My name is daisymay and I am a reality show junkie.

Oh, and I started to watch the Miss America Reality show, but got tired so taped the rest of it.

My bad!!

MSacorn 01-09-2008 07:30 PM

Hey DM
The main reason for the weight loss slow down on week 2 is that week 1 was mostly water weight. It should be better next week. The trainers expected it to slow due to past experiences. Still I'm enjoying the couples show. I must admit I'm cheering for the strangers team.

Anyone see Sundays Amazing Race. It's down to 4 teams. TK & Rachel came in last but it was a non-elimination round. After next week they are down to the final 3, which usually means Finale.

I'm looking forward to Survivor despite JF being included. I sure hope he's the first to go. Big Brother starts next month too.

DM 01-09-2008 07:35 PM

I LOVE Big Brother, Survivor, TBL, ~~ NOOOOOO!

I't's controlling my life.

*running through wall*

Uh~ Beth?? Be sure to remind me when they're on. I can't help myself.:p

doydie 01-09-2008 11:55 PM

They haven't done a two show leg of TAR yet. Anyone heard what the shows schedule is? When do they have the finale?

doydie 01-11-2008 12:41 AM

Just heard on TV tonight that there are 2 episodes of TAR left.

SallyC 01-11-2008 12:01 PM

Ok, I give.....what is TAR?????

MSacorn 01-11-2008 02:30 PM

It is THE Amazing Race. It took me a bit to figure it out. :Scratch-Head: Who added the T to the initials? It is AR, AR, the The is understood. Sheesh I hate that when the game gets changed mid season. (tongue firmly in cheek, of course)

SallyC 01-13-2008 08:57 PM

OK, Yeaaaaaaaa!!!! All my favorites are in the final race next week.. I still like Christine and Papa, best.

MSacorn 01-13-2008 10:06 PM

I agree with ya Sally. For once all three teams deserve to win. I'm so glad that whiney Jen is gone. OMG she was making me nuttier. :D

SallyC 01-13-2008 10:19 PM

I think I just heard a blurb on the TV that a New Big Brother is coming soon. Could that be? I thought that was just a summer thingy.

doydie 01-13-2008 11:22 PM

Yeah!!!!! Amazing Race will be great next week. I hope Nate and Jen can at least end up being friends.

Yes, Big Brother is coming back. It's all about the writers strike. CBS has to have programs and you don't need writers to make Big Brother.

DM 01-14-2008 09:20 AM

I too, saw a promo for BB. It's coming if FEB. Survivor starts Thurs, I think!! Oh me head is a spinnin!!!:D:p

SallyC 01-14-2008 10:36 PM

American Idol tryouts on Mon. and Tues., this week. I always like to see the tryouts.....pretty funny, sometimes..:D

I saw some of the pre-stuff on TVGN, tonight. Some weird people out there..LOL

MSacorn 01-14-2008 11:15 PM

I like the AI losers too funny. Hope I remember to watch. I'm taping BL for Tuesday so I can watch AI. I need a good laugh.

doydie 01-15-2008 12:18 AM

I'm torn, tomorrow night is AI and BL and other shows I want to watch. I think, I can't believe I'm actually writing this, I may not watch AI. Since it's the auditions, and most of them are the terrible ones, I'm watching BL. My DVR will only tape two shows at a time and if I want to watch a show, it has to be one that I am taping. If my husband is out doing his usual karoaking tomorrow night, I may try to figure out the VCR on the old TV and tape AI. Once you get used to a DVR, you just can't go back.

I watched American gladiator tonight. They had this scrawny soccer Mom against this bull rider and she whipped her but. She has the best time of all the women AND the men on the Eliminator.

doydie 01-16-2008 01:25 AM

Tonight the white team had to leave on TBL. I don't think I will ever remember their names, especially with them being couples. The husband just never acted like he appreciated the opportunity of being there. It looked like at home he didn't give the effort either. I think his wife has lost 1 less pound than he has.

Last night The Dance Wars was on. Because of my DVR, I couldn't record the whole program so I just recorded the last half hour. It looks like they have their teams now so things should start looking up. I was reading the bios on the ABC web site and several of the contestants are very talented and have many honors.

American Idol started tonight. As usual it was just mostly the sad sacks who wanted their moment on TV. But they did let some good singers through.

DM 01-16-2008 10:27 AM

I can so relate, but don't tell anyone that I was flipping channels back and forth too. I wanted to watch TBL, AI and I had started watching Comanche Moon mini series, so it was crazy.

Neil and Amanda were the BL white team. I want the black tshirt team to go. They bug me.

Haven't really picked a fave yet.

Curious 01-16-2008 10:36 AM

i just listened to the rado about ia. some of the ones who made it to top 50...have had records (cd's). that sucks. they named some names.

MSacorn 01-16-2008 12:06 PM

I dvr'ed the AI and watched BL. I felt bad for Amanda, her hubby seems like a dud. She looks awesome so far, by April who knows. I too would like the black team gone. I'm rooting for the Blue (strangers) and Orange (mother/son). The pink kinda tugged at my heart last night. If nothing else, their relationship will be stronger. They do have great potential.

I'm feeling bad for the purples, they own a fat camp for kids. I'm not sure why they are not losing like they should be. Maybe they were in such bad shape at age 22 that they can't do too much.

AI was the usual bad, very bad, and some really good one too. Did you see the freaky guy w/bellydancing outfit that went and shaved his chest hair (lots) just to get on tv. He came back afterwards and ucka mucka what a gross sight.

Beth

I and my wife watch TBL religiously as it has really motivated my wife. I too was very happy to see the white team bounced. You know who wears the pants in that family don't you? I felt sorry for Amanda but her hubby drowned them out. His actions spoke way louder than his words. I get the feeling he has never done anything physically challenging in lhis life and didn't appreciate the rare opportunity he and his wife had. Rooting for the Purple team.

SallyC 01-16-2008 05:11 PM

I was surfing back and forth between AI and BL. I caught the best of both, I think.:)

Yes, poor Amanda....what a jerk DH is.:( I like the blue team.

It was fun and weird to watch AI. :D The judges were their usual selves..

Jappy 01-16-2008 08:12 PM

I only watched AI last night. It is unbelievable how some people will degrade themselves to get their 15 minutes of TV fame. What is more amazing the ones that really believe they have talent.:eek:

The guy with the belly/dancer outfit was gross.

Tonight I am going to miss the first half of AI because I love to watch
Wife Swap.

Does anyone else watch that?

Joyce :)

SallyC 01-16-2008 08:36 PM

Thanks Joyce...I forgot AI was on tonight. Missed the first half hour.:(

DM 01-17-2008 07:35 PM

GUILTY JOYCE! I love Wife Swap, but didn't catch it last night. There was just too many Reality Shows on. I am such a junkie!!!

Haven't decided on my BL team yet. Keep watching.

doydie 01-18-2008 12:42 AM

I can't believe Gene Simmons was 'fired' on Apprentice tonight. I think he was wanting to. He gave the Donald no choice but to fire him. Well first off, I can't believe that with the guys shoddy performance that they really won, except for the fact that they emphasized the ink.

Anyone watching 'Crowned, the Mother of all Pageants"? There are two definitley different camps there. One where the mom and daughter teams seem to respect each other and themselves. And the other camp in which they are all out for themselves and the Moms treat the daughters terrible and visa versa. It seems at this point that the decent camp is winning out. Or should I say that the other team is whining out.
