I eat peas and corn. But heehee, they are hot only. And no corn on the cob for me. I have bad teeth to chew with. I'm a pumpkin pie eater and a pecan not exactly wanting to eat these, But I'm working on a way to eat pumpkin with out the crust. I also eat sweet potato, yes I know that is potato, heehee. need to remember what I was going to say. sorry. I have a new question and a need for a recipe, but its honestly not a recipe Im going to eat, just one I have to find. Donna |

Actually Donna, I remember seeing something recently that sweet potatoes are very good for you....much better than the other potato. I will try to remember where I saw it.
Yep here it is...sweet potatoes are one of the healthiest foods. No butter of course. Sweet potatoes Although sweet potatoes may be part of the Thanksgiving tradition, be sure to add these wonderful naturally sweet vegetables to your meals throughout the year; they are some of the most nutritious vegetables around. Sweet potatoes can be found in your local markets year-round, however they are in season in November and December.... http://www.whfoods.com/genpage.php?t...dspice&dbid=64 They are high in Vit A and potassium and are low on the glycemic index. |

yep...grandmonkeys eats one almost everyday. a baked one. no butter no marshmallows.
yams in a can..are not sweet potato's. donna...pumpkin pie filling that has been been baked...whether you eat the crust or not, is full of fat and sugar. it's not just pumpkin from a can. even the pumkin pie filling in the can is full of sugar and fat. do you cook from scratch very often? veggies can be snuck into foods. grate up zuccini, yellow squash or carrots into ground meat. make burgers, meatloaf or meatballs. actually makes then very moist. lettuce or cabbage leaves make wonderful rollups. just put your favorite low fat lunch meat and low fat cheese on a leaf..roll it up. no bread, no tortilla... cambells and progresso make some very tasty low sodium soups. very satisfying. on the mac and cheese...you can use any low fat cheese. my kids even like low fat cream cheese melted on noodles with a little spaghetti sauce. make a thick creamy pink sauce and the cream cheese adds calcium and protien. do you like cream chese? it's also good on celery. just remember the low fat..not the non fat. most non fat products have extra salt sugar to give them flavor that went out with the fat. yikes...need to get to bed. early morning.

I was pretty good about my diet while we were in Chicago...had a big steak one night with tomatoe/mozarella cheese salad but fell off when we got home Monday night and had popcorn! I'm not going to beat myself up over it...I gained one pound.
Yesterday I was back on with a vengence and put away the scale...worked in the yard, painted the porch rail. Had dilled Shrimp salad for dinner and it was yummy. Fixing a chemical omlette w/low fat cheese and small glass of V8 juice for breakfast. My sil is coming tomorrow for several days and I did fix a decadent dessert that's in the freezer...that won't be a problem for me but the bread will be. ~sigh water, water, water!!!

You will do just fine.
I'm taking it easy today, had my second epidural in my neck and have stayed pretty much on the diet. But had to go off the exercise per doctor and nurses orders for little stuff doing today. So that will pass tomorrow. I'm going to try and get up early and if I don't still feel to sedated I'm going early to do some exercise, then to PT. And then off driving to my two days of IN*SOURCE meetings. Were I know the diet will fail for the evening meal, and then I'll be careful the next day. Donna |

After considering WW I am now back to my origional plan of SB. I already know how to follow this plan and it does work for me. Took me a while to get what I wanted to do straight in my "slow but still working a bit brain" and today I have started back again.
2 scrambled eggs with mozzarella cheese and parmesan cheese, and some onion pwoder. Too lazy to cut a real onion today. MMMM it was good. Need to go have my yogurt now. Took cinnamon, omega 3 fish oil, calcium with D,and a sublinguial(sp?) B12. So far so good. |

Did OK but not as well as would have liked too do. Didn't have any food in the house for me, had to eat:
Breakfast-2 scrambled eggs with onion powder Lunch-salad with chicken & SB dressing. Yogurt 4oz Supper-Ham sandwich(did use too much ham) PM-yogurt 8 oz Went shopping and now have cabbage, cauliflower(sp?), purple cabbage, etc, and the best of all some good ole shrimp. Started today off better-real onions to chop into eggs, low gram mixed cheese, yogurt 4 oz |
