Dear Mari

that is a lot of cooking. plus the shopping. and on a work day is really impressive!

Now you can sit back :sunchair: and enjoy the (very healthy, i might add) fruits of your labor! :D;)

not normal

Hi,

That was not my normal food. I had had lots of salt the day before. I was looking for food that would have a directic effect.

I feel good today except for being really really sleepy after I took 0.5 Klonopin.

Ok, HELP !!!

It is official... Im obese...... :( I dont know what to do... When doc and my parents put that very serious face and told me I MUST loose weight and etc, I felt like starting crying... :( They even suggested surgery, like the gastric bypass... :( After my eye surgery, Im terrified about surgeries... specially if it is sort of a esthetic surgery... :(

I felt depressed... and anxious... and worried... and... :(

I found a table that says I have to drink 17 glasses of water per day to help my metabolism... and I can only drink 8 so far... :(

I dont know what to eat, what to do to loose the 140 extra pounds I have... :(

HELP !

Mari 02-11-2012 08:48 PM

Dear Majo,

You are ok. We sacrifice much to be on these meds. :grouphug:

Mayo

For one thing, just try to drink as much water as you can a day.

Next I eat things in moderate amounts. I enjoy more the pasta's
and the fruits at times. Then I'll want something totally different.

You just have to figure out what will work for you.

Hi Blue

I had an older doc, just about to retire, look at me in the eyes, and said, ginnie you failed every test I gave you. You are in the obese range, your BP is high, your ankles are bad etc. I want you to know that it is very possible to loose the weight. I was heavy all my life. I was 192 and I lost 65 pounds. I have put back on 10 since christmas and am now on my way back down. You can do it if I can do it. I can help you too. simple small steps at first is the key. There are certain foods that I omitted all together, veg. oil, margarine, soda of any kind, white bread, ice cream which was my favorite. I start to eat steal cut oat meal as often as I could. Drank water reasonably. I eat dried mango alot by sunsweet. That is how I started and the weight did come off. After you cut these few things out, you take more steps, cut your portion down just a little. I also gave up fast food like Mcdonalds etc. This is doable, don't panic. If you just take those small steps to start with, you can and will loose weight. Let me know if you want some receipies, and more tips. I also ate an apple every day, sometimes two. I wish you all the best. I will be here to talk to if you need some encouragement. I now am at about 135, I am 5'1" and 60 years old. Better late then never. ginnie:D:hug:

Weight watchers is a good diet and you can do it on line.
The american diabetes diet is a very healthy diet also.
South beach diet or sugar busters these have all proven to be doable.
Even Dr. Gott no flour no sugar no potatoes no rice diet works for many.
We are here to encourage you. The only way I lost my weight was by counting calories at first to know what I could eat. I used to eat a sub way sandwich for lunch every day. ham and turkey, pepper jack cheese, spicy mustard no mayo then all of the veggies made a big filling and satisfying meal at 400 calories. I stopped drinking milk and now take calcium supplements.
I only drank water. The diet drinks are not good for our bladders. I also drank iced black coffee. There are many on line trackers to help you keep tract of stuff if you want to use a tool to help you.
we are here to cheer you on. I have regained alot of my weight loss from last year so am getting ready to restart dieting......
my friend you are not alone in this battle.
Almost all of us here have weight issues.
