Thanks Bizi

She explained it so well.

And honestly its scary for me to worry that it is over the level. Because
I am scared of the insulin shots. But I am lucky so far I have been
able to just do the medformin.

Which honestly has helped me lose weight.

I wish I'd know when we were watching my weight so closely that if
he had put me on about 6 months earlier than I went on. That it
would have made the difference it has.

But I have been blessed pretty much with this doctor, that has never
talked about my weight, and how much over I was. It was good, because
I knew I was and I was trying very hard to go down.

Hi Dmom

I am glad to hear you are loosing weight. a number of years ago I was facing high blood suger too. I had am older really kind doctor tell me that my weight was the real factor. It is amazing what fear can do to you. I didn't want the shots either or diabetis. I lost all the weight I needed to, and avoided the whole business. I hope everything goes OK for you too. Any weight loss is great! Keep on trucking. ginnie

New find

Hi,

I bought these for hubby. The twisty tie calls them Jaunes en Botte / Golden Beets.
They look orange. I have to remind him to put the greens in a salad or soup.

Donna, just to let you know you are a long way from needing insulin. you are only taking one med, they can try up to 3 different ones together for you if your a1c's start to elevate. but they are good so I just wanted to reassure you that you are doing well.

Yes I am, I guess I should explain the statement.

Before I was on medformin, when I had surgery twice. I had high
blood sugar and had to have insulin shots. Likely I didn't have
to learn to give them to my self. Never exactly understood why
I wasn't put on a med to try then. But luckily it worked.

my cooking adventure

Hi,

I woke up Thursday a.m. feeling that I had been eating too much salt. Hubby was gone at a work event so I
- planned my food
- went shopping
-cooked.

I made
~A huge pot of steel cut oatmeal on the stove. I added flax seed oil when it cooled.I put leftovers in the fridge.
~A small chicken breast cooked in a skillet. I added some some water and fresh parsley at the end.

I bought a tiny avocado, some asparagus, cut up watermelon, some grapes, and 14 oz of unsweetened (plain) cocunut water. I had lots of water and two cups of green tea.

=-=-=-
Then I made lentils with parsley in the crock pot and quinoa flakes (cereal) in a big pot for tomorrow. I can eat the lentils for breakfast and the quinoa flakes for lunch.

That was a big cooking day for me. And I did this during the work week. Most importantly, everything in the kitchen is still in good shape. :Dancing-Chilli: I even cleaned up.
