Smile the taste of potato

that sounds good... but sometime... when you've got no time for lunch maybe, LOL...

try just nuked tater with a bit o cream cheese - i garantee you, it is different. you really taste the potato - like you were saying about plain foods. the cream cheese makes it a little.... creamier lol but does not alter the flavor too much as it is not so tart - different than sour cream. 2 tbsp for a big potato. less if it's smaller. ok i'll stop selling you my bland stuff now... lol...

ooh, footnote: yogurt i find changes the flavor quite a bit and i use whole yogurt - lowfat would change it even more.

Thumbs up

Waves,

I forgot about whole yogurt and low fat yogurt having different tastes. I buy both. Right now I have only non fat.
We do have cream cheese and some potatoes.
I like the texture of baked potatoes better than the the mic'd ones.

Thumbs up Dear Mari

oven-baked vs nuked potatoes.... should work, they retain flavor - just so long as they're not boiled!

Red face comfort eating... may have regained what little the stress took off...

today i think i just ate too much. i am not sure. i don't have much appetite. i ate when i was supposed to eat but not much. in between i had tidbits like peanuts and chunks of hard cheese... just for comfort eating. i had moments of feeling full which i dislike. now i am afraid of the scale but it seems to draw me like a magnet every few days... sigh.

since i messed up my knee real good and my ankles pretty good too, i can't even attempt to do extra walking - which would be the best thing, and i have to avoid stairs (they make knee hurt BAD), when i travel to/from/within the city. doing all the stairs on foot is one of my "tricks" for augmenting exercise and building tone. sigh. i do not even know what exercises are safe to do other than non standing. but any weight bearing is probably bad. i do cautious stretching and a little ROM.

The knee has full forward/back range unless strained, twisting and lateral shifts hurt. One ankle does not yet under the best of conditions. i think ankles must be complicated. i tripped forward on this ankle 3 days after the bad fall that hurt it, and hurt it a different way, so i guess i shouldn' tbe surprised. i don't even know if i this ankle and the knee could handle swimming - even if i could afford a gym.

Maybe I should change my name to Zyprexa or have it appended to my name, since i feel like i am 1/3rd constituted by weight that med put on me.

Default Hi waves

Please do get your ankles checked out if they do not improve. You know I am in that situation real deep. Ankles are indeed very very complicated parts. Hope impovement happens to your knees and your ankles with good diet and rest. Do upper body movement, just gentle stretching is great. I often think I would have love tie chie (don't know how to spell it) It is an excersice the Japanese do I think. Slow controlled movement. wishing you health Waves, and I am a bit worried about you. ginnie

Smile yes, i am being careful, and will get checked if don't improve

Dear Ginnie

thanks for the good advice... ok i will do upper body - i can do that! better than nothing for sure! don't worry if issues persist i will ask for diagnostics. "fortunately" i have still been depressed enough (seemed to get better but am not stable) that i can't stand to go out much anyway. i do gentle stretching on my legs too, and i massage my feet (passive stretching) on the areas that are not affected. i avoid any movement that causes pain - very careful.

Tai Chi is actually a Chinese discipline... yes it does look lovely doesn't it... i've seen groups do it in parks... all those slow graceful movements. only thing is they most often do it at dawn... eeeeks. i am so NOT a morning person.

Default thanks for spelling waves

Thanks for the information on tai chi, and who just used this form of concentrated movement. It is one of the ones they do down here on the beach early in the mornings. I can't walk on sand, or I would be down there with them. Maybe someday. In the meantime, I do try to move my upper body like that. I gained weight as my ankles got worse as you know, and my mobility is limited. I am hungry alot. New suppliments are going to help. Did my first shot of B12 yesterday, did just fine.
Have a good day Waves. Hope you get better. ginnie

Ugh, he will clean the sink, but no one ever around here will do the floors, or toilet.
I am glad you have work too...
