Possible trigger for crying...
Do you cry easily? Just curious, I sometimes find myself crying during the shows my son watches when they are like emotional in the shows. Mostly like Avatar the last Airbender and other shows, like Pokemon and all. Do you cry easily during sad movies if you watch them? Sometimes I think a good cry is theraputic for us. What do you think? ![]()

Hi - YES I do cry very easy. I am a very emotional person, which I always have been. I used to cry as a kid when Lassie got lost.
My anti-depressent Cymbalta or the combo of my BP meds have made a difference and do help, but like today when it came to my birds, I lost it. The bad thing is when I do cry, I cannot control it, which can be real embarrassing, I try, but I cannot control my tears or emotions. So, you are not alone. Actually it is a good release, usually I feel somewhat better afterwards, depending on the situation. Hugs, Nikko ![]() |

Thanks for replying Nikko, actually it was that thread you began which made me think about it and ask this question because I definitely can't control my emotions when they get going and I agree it's embarrassing but what can we do? Hugs back at you Nikko!

Well, I just let it flow. Now that I am back on my cymbalta it should help somewhat again with the tears and crying I hope.
Even still I still have those intense emotions that I cannot control as far as crying. What a life! huh.... ![]() Nikko |

I cried alot during the huricane disaster here with katrina and rita, felt hopeless and helpless to really make a difference so I decided to go and volunteer at the cajun dome because I could not stop watching and not doing anything to help. Working on getting more training to be an officially trained red cross volunteer.
I must follow thru with this training in the next couple of weeks. That way I will be ready to assist when needed. bizi

I never used to cry at all. My mom has always said she always knew when something was seriously wrong with me as a kid because I would cry.
Now, however, since going through my daughter's illness, chemotherapy, etc., I cry at the drop of a hat. I've even been known to tear up during commercials! |

I understand that feeling of having such strong emotional reactions to things, I just posted another possible trigger topic because I had the worst panic attack I've had in years, but I didn't cry, it was resolved before i broke down thank God. It's so hard to stay in control at times like that when things seem to happen out of the blue right when you least expect it. Even commercials or songs on the radio can make me break down if it's something I have an emotional attachment to.
I am glad you got that training bizi, I hope you never have to use it though, I hope we have a nice quiet ten year period with no named storms, though we've already had a couple, but I am praying nothing big comes our way or your way and that the storms all just stay at sea and die out there from wind sheer. ![]()

Pam, you have had a ton of helpings on your plate. You hold it together andin..thensomething innocent affects you and gives your psyche permission to cry...instead in the middle of the move situations.
The bodies way to release stress is through crying. When I miss de, I think of her I can be OK, then I want to say something and the tears flow..... I am taking Lexapro so my mind is notworking a mile a minute over things Ihave no control over...helps me to focus on my day...but it does not cure all the tears. There are some biofeedback things I was taught for my Post tramatic stress; tummybreathing for ten to twenty minutes a day, just relax and put your hand on your tummy, take deep breaths from there, not the chest. Don;t let your chest heave up and down, feel it low on the abdomin. Another, visualize from your fingertips, up to arms to neck and shoulders, head, down to feet, up legs to chest, picture and feel them relax every inch. If you have music to relax by great...Treat yourself everyday, this is actually better then many meds I take that I feel my body get rid of tightness, nausea, and actually feel OK, even ifthe tears come, I say ok 20 minutes and that is it. Holding in stress and stressful events can shorten our lives. So feel better, even if you cry. Di

I'm a firm believer that crying is good for your inner soul. And its also good
for your feelings. I too cry when I feel frustrated, happy, confused, sometimes just a drop of a hat will bring tears. My son's seizures can bring tears too. And I've learned to just let them fall and hope that I feel better after ward. I find that if they build up I have sick and tense headaches more. Donna |
