My heartrate and BP go way up when I am having any breathing problems, and I think everyone's do. Was he breathing okay? It is a big sign of crisis and important to know in case the ER doesn't recognize it as so. When you are struggling to breathe, your heart rate and BP go up. When I was in crisis mine were elevated for days; they came down very slowly day by day as I felt better. Though his did come down, it is something to be aware of. Also, I had GI issues during and before my crisis. My digestive system was too weak to digest my food. The doctors called it a "mechanical issue" due to the weakness. I had been nauseous and having bad heartburn for about two weeks before I ended up in the hospital.

He may have a bug, based on the fever. I just want you to be aware that they are also signs of an impending crisis, possibly; having just been through one.
