Default OT a little but pain and moving near family or for better weather?

This is a little OT but need some thoughts from others so I hope it is ok I posted. I have PN and RSD and have had it for 6 years. I live on my own and function daily though I am not able to work I do all my own daily activities etc. I have had little success with treatments or meds so my pain is high and varies a lot.
Anyhow I moved from my home state of MI about 5 years ago and have lived in warm climates due to the winter being so horrible on pain. There are times in general I cant wear socks so dressing for winter in itself is hard.I go frozen foot and the pain increases. Also not to sound nuts in severe humid climates swell and have sores on my feet. I go up at least 2 show sizes and am strawberry red. So basically extremes are not good for me. Obviously there is no perfect climate.
I live on my own and obviously don't have many friends since this condition and though I have gotten used to it well it can still be hard. I have very little family just my mom basically. I am 34. She lives in MI and though we can visit it is not the same as living near. So I am considering moving to MI again. We would not live together but lets say within a 30 minute drive where we could meet for lunch etc. Also knowing someone near is nice. The issue is winter freaks me out cause I know the pain is going to be worse and fear of falling.
I have a choice of either moving back to MI and trying it 6 months and seeing how winter does if I am bad then move somewhere mild or try somewhere mild first and when winter comes to visit and see how I do. Overall I am not a fan of MI even winter aside but I do like the idea of having a family member near and also knowing the area.
The other conflict is that I cant afford CA anymore where I was living and FL is too humid so I was going to try NC and that has a lot of unknown of how I would do. Any choice is not forever just to commit to 6 months but I am drained with moving and 6 months when you feel horrid is a long time. I also feel like I always make the wrong choice.
Ok I am sorry this is so long but appreciate any feedback.Thank you for listening
