Renee .. isn't it fun to 'JUST SAY NO' ???? uh - take pix, please!!
Kay ... do you want peanut M&Ms or dark chocolate M&Ms?? I'll pack them with the cold blocks I get for my copax! hope you feel better Suzy ... Tricia ... I was wondering what all that singing was this morning! LOL ... I checked - STILL have water!! :partytime2: **UPDATE** taxes - school - taxes - declutter more - SHOWER - bank - post office - library .. not necessarily in that order tho! hope everyone has a great day ... will peak in every so often to make sure you all keep behaving yourselves ... the look on Rooster Klaus could put anyone in a scare! LOL :yikes: |
Got taxes done..was pleasantly surprised! Tkrik- I am convince you have some weird cheat prgoram to the Yeti sports, you have blown all of my high scores out of the water and I'm not certain how in some cases! LOL Addicting little buggers aren't they!
Vonn- I will take pics of my finished products as well as hubbys handiwork in the front yard! |
Renee - My secret cheat program is DD17 and DD16. LOL. They saw me playing and they played a few games. LOL.
The only ones that I can think of that I did myself are the Polar Express and the Pentathalon. DD17 actually signed up so she can play the games and have her name appear. Now she's ticked off because she has to beat her own scores that are under my name. Yeti sports are fun! |
For Sale: One slightly used foot. Has a tendancy to not lift totally off of floor. Causes one to trip over cats, cords, and absolutly nothing. Willing to discuss trade. Paypal accepted. :D
That about sums up my day. Just relaxing a little before I have to start puttering around. One of our friends is coming to see us tomorrow. Also not sure if this will be a duplicate post, LOL. Not sure if the strangeness is on my end or not, and the computer guy won't be home until late. I enjoyed all the posts. Now let's see how good my memory is. :) Vonn, kudos on the water being back on. Sandy and Barb, Hope you have safe travels Renee, Have fun in the class Suzy, Hope you feel better soon Kay, thanks for the farm pics. |

that's a stellar idea with the copax pax... you're such a bright girl, I never woulda thought of that... I DID save 'em for years, refroze 'em, and used 'em in my ice chests for picnics. but never for mailing anything, to keep it cool... but you shouldn't need more than one, as it's still pretty COOL here, until April, when it starts to warm up. and hey... Klaus is CUTE! since we got rid of Tyrone the Terrorist Rooster, Klaus now gets a chance at the lady hens... which is good, 'cause he was starting to bother the lady DUCKS! and I'm pretty sure that's illegal... :D Klaus' only competition now is Halloween... I'll see if I can dig up a pic of him, he's a GORGEOUS rooster! all orange and black... just stunning... |
Thanks Jenn!

ERRR-er-er? sort of a truncated baby-crow. :D  as for the coffee, found a NEW grinder yesterday... so, fresh-ground Guatemalan beans just went into my drip coffeemaker, after a WEEK's abstinence! YAY !! :Trapeze 2: :trampoline: :Excited: :trampoline: :Trapeze 2: and here's my update thing-a-ma-jigger-dealie-bopper: today was the BIG day for the most recent batch of ducklings... the gate on their safety pen was opened to the big wide world, and they made their first ventures out into the "general population" at 7 am. brave little duckies... first they followed the "Salad Lady" (that'd be me, trailing greens galore) all the way to the guinea hutch, exploring everything along the way, then... they got REALLY courageous, and trooping after Mama Buffy and Mama Choco, the nine babies checked out our pond... wheeeeeeee!!! oh, and I couldn't find a photo of my rooster Halloween, so I tracked him down, and he graciously posed for my camera: http://img169.imageshack.us/img169/5177/dscn4336bv9.jpg (sorry it's a wee bit blurry, this was taken BEFORE I had coffee :D ) and, from the bonus photo dept: a hummingbird nest at my friend's house: http://img169.imageshack.us/img169/4...2587lz4rd9.jpg (friend's hand included, to show scale) and here's the mama hummingbird on her nest: http://img169.imageshack.us/img169/8185/barn2410mg1.jpg I think it's a Canivet's Emerald Hummer |

if you want to see more, my little website's listed in my profile here. it's "thumbnails" so you can preview, and decide which pix to show children (like, you can skip the possibly scary bugs & snakes and the boring construction stuff :D ) yes, my sweet little Mocha's still missing... and I sure miss her a lot... even though I have her seven offspring to console me, and three of them look a lot like her... but none of them try to climb in my lap, or nibble whole corn from my hand. I really understand though, as I waited five years to put a "name" on what my body was going through. hang in there, honey, slow deep breaths, patience, a dx will come, eventually. |
Good morning all:) Just checking in. The "pay to play" program is kicking in and I'm a little off today.
Didn't help that I had some weird nightmares last night that kept waking me up. :( Going to drown my sorrow in a cup of coffee, lol. Hope everyone has a good day. :grouphug: |

Crazy weather going on again. It's in the single digits right now with windchills in the negatives. We have a winter storm warning for tonight. Hope all stay safe.

Well, we have stuff to be proud of here in Minnesota (read that VERY sarcastically)..International Falls finally won the decision on being called "The Nation's Icebox"..Yep, it was a serious competition and has gone on for years with Fraser, CO. This morning, Fraser was a toasty 20 above. International Falls? 40 BELOW..And that was the air temp. Didn't hear what the windchill was. They're excited up there 'cause now they can print up official banners, posters, mailers etc..Maybe get some tourism going (but probably not in winter..LOL)..

A Picture's worth a Thousand Words...
Brrr is an understatement!
This is from The International Falls Thermometer: 60 Californians put on sweaters (if they can find one in their wardrobe). 50 Miami residents turn on the heat. 40 You can see your breath; Californians shiver uncontrollably; Minnesotans go swimming. 35 Italian cars don't start. 32 Water freezes. 30 You plan your vacation to Australia; Minnesotans put on T-shirts; Politicians begin to worry about the homeless; British cars don't start; Your boogers freeze. 25 Boston water freezes; Californians weep pitiably; Minnesotans eat ice cream; Canadians go swimming. 20 You can hear your breath; Politicians begin to talk about the homeless; New York City water freezes; Miami residents plan vacations farther south. 15 French cars don't start; You plan a vacation in Mexico; Cat insists on sleeping in your bed with you. 10 Too cold to ski; You need jumper cables to get the car going. 5 You plan your vacation in Houston; American cars don't start. 0 Alaskans put on T-shirts; Too cold to skate. -10 German cars don't start; Eyes freeze shut when you blink. -15 You can cut your breath and use it to build an igloo; Arkansans stick their tongues on metal objects; Miami residents cease to exist. -20 Cat insists on sleeping in your pajamas with you; Politicians actually do something about the homeless; Minnesotans shovel snow off roof; Japanese cars don't start. -25 Too cold to think; International Falls Chamber of Commerce sponsors "Freeze Your Gizzard Blizzard Marathon"; You need jumper cables to get the driver going. -30 You plan a two-week hot bath; The mighty Monongahela freezes; Swedish cars don't start. -40 Californians disappear; International Falls natives put on a parka and go ice fishing, snowmobiling and skiing; Canadians put on sweaters; Your car helps you plan your trip south. -50 Congressional hot air freezes; Alaskans close the bathroom window. -80 Hell freezes over; Polar bears move south. |

:D :D :D Edit: I just checked the thermometer and it's 76 degrees in the house. That means it's approx 100 degrees warmer here than in Minnesota right now. :) |
Ohhh..Why doesn't that make me feel any better? :D:D:D
|
Quote:
but that's not really fair, Polar. I lived in the Sierra Nevada foothills for 17 years. had a woodstove, and propane tank for backup heat. I chopped firewood, shoveled snow and scraped ice off windshields with the best of 'em California's not all beaches! |
To be honest, at 40 below, I'D disappear! :D
The NPR station in Int'l Falls put the thermometer together. They're really quite proud of surviving that kind of cold. Even with a garage and and engine block heater, there aren't enough layers that could possibly make me wanna go outside & start the car in that kind of cold. I have enough trouble here in the warm, southeastern part of Minnesota (only got to 18 below the other night)..:D |
burrr cold here too...very cold....heading to Cali..would be great..hehehe sarah
|
Good Morning all :) Having coffee for wake up and warm up.
It was really cold yesterday. Today it's supposed to warm up to 33. The part that makes it fun is that it's snowing, probably will turn into sleet and rain, then back to snow. Ah, the roads are going to be interesting. It's times like this I miss living in places where people are used to driving in this stuff. As to the list, upstate NYers don't worry until it's too cold to ski too. LOL :D:D |
Hi everyone! Just thought I would let you know I made it to austin ok; weather has been really nice the past few days. I have not had time to read all of the posts I missed, but I hope everyone is doing well. I'm having fun playing with my niece. I'll check in again another day. we are off to whole Foods, etc.
|

**UPDATE** going to get to almost 15 above today - heat wave ... have alot of returns to do yet, and school .. only a week to go before the final papers and exams .. but - carrying A's in both (stats and non-profit mgt) .. hope you all have a great day!! |
Quote:
