Amen Brain. Well said. :)

PS: ADD ON: I do think having a revolving credit helps your credit score. I forgot to add that last night. I do buy 90 days same as cash sometimes. I pulled my mom's credit report when she went bankrupt and it had all her cc's on it showing if she was in good standing or not.

FinLady 03-13-2008 06:34 AM

Brain, sorry to have to disagree. We had to get a credit card in order to qualify for a loan on our home in 2003. I love the weirdness of this finance world these days, LOL. :rolleyes: The reason - not enough long term revolving credit - even with other loans. So we got one card and that's it. Had that for a month or two and suddenly qualified for a new home loan. So weird. :Crazy 2:

Renee, sending lots of hugs and prayers your way. :hug: Hope your doc can help.

Sandy, Thanks for the update on Renee.

Up early and soon will be heading to training class. Yippee. Actually up and moving this morning. Thank goodness for coffee. :D

Everyone take care of yourselves today. :grouphug:

NaeNae 03-13-2008 06:49 AM

Hey all thought I'd pop on and update since Sandy did it for me yesterday! Thanks Sandy! Going to the doctor at 11...went to the urgent care center yesterday waited for an hour never even got called in for vitals and then they told me there was going to be an additional 2-3 hour wait so I left!

I got Olivia enrolled in preschool she starts Monday...my baby girl is growing up!

Sandy googled every possible side effect I could have with the Tysabri while on the phone with me last night! BTW I totally agree with you over the whole CC thing.

Don't seem to have as much back pain today but I haven't moved much either LOL and the nausea is definitely better this morning.

Vonn- men have no concept of time...yet another example of how they are similar to dogs! LOL

How you feelin Barb?

Fin can you bring some coffee over!

Waving at Kitty and Sox!

Kayo hows the ankle-o?

I listen to Clark Howard a lot (consumer advocate) as well as some money shows - they actually advise against this - in reality it lowers your score.

Anything that you buy on a consumer credit (like buying furniture on store credit) lowers your score because you are normally judged by the amount of credit you have open vs what you are using. In a typical store account - they give you X amount of credit and you use the whole thing to purchase their furniture. So it looks like you have a lot of credit in use vs available. There are some other things too, with this type of credit, but the bottom line is that it only hurts you.

Good ratios and payment histories on Credit cards and loans establish good credit.

That being said, I think most CC companies are scumsuckers. My bill used to be due about 3 weeks after I received it. Now it's within about 10 days. They love it because it forces more people to be late and then they can jack up their interest rates. I've been with my CC company for 19 years because they've always been fair to me - do I trust them? heck no!!

tkrik 03-13-2008 09:01 AM

Fin - have fun at your training class.

Renee - Glad you are doing a little better. I hope all goes well with the dr today.

Greta - thanks for the cc information.

~~~~
Got my dr. appt this morning. A good dose of antibiotics and I'll be doing much better by tomorrow. I have to be better by Saturday because that is our MS Walk day. I need to be able to walk or crawl 3 miles! :eek: Ok, I can bail out at 1 mile but I'm a little stubborn and will push myself to the limit and then crash at the end. :wink:
barb02 03-13-2008 09:35 AM
Renee, Sorry you have been having a rough time. I missed the posts yesterday about your problems. Hope they figure out what is going on. I seem to be experiencing more stiffness in my leg and pain/squeezing in the left side of my rib cage this week. In 2 more weeks I should know if I am developing antibodies to tysabri.
My bladder issues seem to be improving so this may be either another lovely side effect of tysabri or another symptom of MS. I have had the same problem a few times in the past few years and no infection so I guess it is the MS. I just wanted to make sure since UII's are a possible side effect of the drug. I should hear back from the lab today.
tkrik -- sinus infections are a pain in the ***! I was just taking avelox for that and bronchitis. Maybe I should try lavaging. Is that how you spell it? I have seen them in drugstores but found the whole idea a little scary.
My update: doing some work on research project, getting my hair cut today, going to dermatologist for full mole check tomorrow. I have such an exciting life.
Vonn07 03-13-2008 11:26 AM
I vote for a day of no pain, no sorrow, no CC issues, no illness, no late fees, no problems ..
OH that would be HEAVEN! :Girl(angel-flying):
add in (since we're dreaming, lol!)
no war, no poverty, no STDs, no hate, no drug abuse, no torture, no earthquakes, no tsunamis, no animal extinctions, no clearcuts, no mountain-top mining, no psychopaths, no tornadoes, no murder, no hurricanes, no injustice, no killer bee swarms, no arctic ice shelves collapsing, no job-outsourcing, no government scandals, and no forced prostitution, slavery, or child-labour.
no, wait, let's REALLY dream big!
let's make all of the above PERMANENT!
but hey, I'll settle no PAIN... (lifts ankle, to adjust Ace bandage)
AMEN, SIS-TA:Bow:
NaeNae 03-13-2008 12:42 PM
Back from doctor she checked UA that was it didn't even feel my stomach said it was probably tysabri related and sent me home. I did find out though that my Vit d level is yet again dangerously low, normal levels are 25-50 although in caucasians it is often near 70...last time I was deficient about a year ago it was 8 now it is less than 2...gonna have to find out why that is.
Secondly I got a new neuro referral however they are not MS specialists...they did say the majority of their patients either have MS or seizures. I guess we'll see.
I actually have those two CD's...but that video was just bizzare LOL I need whatever they're on!
FinLady 03-13-2008 01:30 PM
Home from training. They're changing things up with the way we rate insurance and the math person in me is cringing. :Speechless: This next year is gonna be fun, and not in a good sense. I'm a customer as well, and my hubby is threatening to yank it if it goes badly. Can't say I would blame him either.
Other than that, it's been an ok day. The sun is shining and it's warm out. :)
~~~~

Renee, Sorry to hear about the vitamin levels. Hope they get to the bottom of that soon. Also hope the new neuro can help too.

TK, Glad to hear you got some antibiotics. Hope you feel good enough for the walk.

Kay, Sorry to hear the ankle is still out of commission.

Barb, hope the mole scan goes well tomorrow.

CayoKay, Did you go to the Caribbean? Eastern or Western? We went to Labadee, Jamaica, Grand Caymon & Cancun last yr for our 25th anniversary. I'll always dream of that :rolleyes: I loved your beach picture, I'm tired of snow & strong winds. Here's some pictures of our trip (some are of the ship) http://pictures.aol.com/galleries/jkonesni

NaeNae 03-13-2008 03:09 PM

Hey Jenn thanks for the postcard! How did you know a hog was my dream car? Well now a Hog trike!

FinLady 03-13-2008 03:39 PM

Renee, LOL. Didn't know. That's cool. Went with hubby to the harley dealer and found my long searched for postcards. :D

I *live* on the Caribbean, lol!

well, the coast is 2.5 hours (bad roads) east from my house, in a remote tin-shack jungle village on the edge of Belize, by Guatemala.

lor 03-13-2008 05:05 PM

Neat CayoKay http://bestsmileys.com/undersun/6.gif can I come over & visit? (I'm kinda :o but I haven't been here much before)

NaeNae 03-13-2008 09:20 PM

Okay, Sandy, fess up!! The gig is over. ;)

FinLady 03-14-2008 07:35 AM

Sandy, what did you say to Renee? I'm really curious now, LOL

~~~~~~
It's Friday :) Thank goodness. It's been a long week for work.
I did do something yesterday that made me proud. I managed to walk the length of my street yesterday before getting tired. Wahoo! First time in a long time. It helped burn off some of that cabin fever. :D
Vonn07 03-14-2008 07:47 AM
Hey all ..
busy day and weekend for me .. .just stopped in so you don't send out a search party out for me later...
all is okey-dokey ... snow is melting .. and nice day to get outside for a bit and for the next few days!
lor 03-14-2008 08:28 AM
I'm going home today, to Ohio. It'll be about 5 hrs. in the car. It's weird coming on these business trips with my DH, I go out to eat with groups of middle age men One is in his 20's though (he's the son of another).
NaeNae 03-14-2008 08:35 AM
Wooohoooo Jenn! You need to come walk on the beach with me!
I think Sandy is in hiding LOL I called her late last night and no answer....well not late for her it was only like a little after 9. Will try again later...she sleeps late!
barb02 03-14-2008 08:36 AM
Ssndy, we are still patiently (:rolleyes:) waiting to hear what you said.
NaeNae 03-14-2008 08:46 AM
Just a hint..........it had something to do with the size of our booties.
FinLady 03-14-2008 09:16 AM
Renee, would love to walk on a beach. Haven't done that in years.
~~~

Finally heard for sure my stress test showed my heart was normal. Knew no news was good news. :) Hope this means we can go to the next step to fight this fatigue.

NaeNae 03-14-2008 10:10 AM

I posted on your thread! Great news...we can all live with fatigue but we can't live without our tickers!! I don't see how you can drink all that coffee...I can later in the day but I drank some yesterday morning and needed a xanax before I went to the doctor...didn't make me have more energy just made me feel like I'd smoked crack! 9Not that I know what that feels like...I don't LOL)

SandyC 03-14-2008 10:12 AM

OMAGAWD! I did not say anything bad!

OK, we were discussing our cholesterol levels and she (Renee) said "My cholesterol is better than yours and I am the fat a$#!" I proceeding to say out of jest and embarrassment "I know!"

I did not mean it that way at all! LOL I meant that she had ms and all and even Jim's cholesterol is better than mine. I meant that they are the ones with auto immune issues and here I sit with no excuse and have high cholesterol. LOL

I SWEAR I DID NOT MEAN SHE WAS A BIG GIRL! PINKY SWEAR!

Hmmm, ask Renee what she said to her neighbor that same day! lmao :eek::p

My update: The MIL is coming by. She was supposed to come by tomorrow but since she wants to make life easier on herself, she is coming by here today and then off to her sisters. Nothing like a answering machine message at 6pm while we are out that she is coming by! Whoohoo! My house is a mess but you know what? I don't care. This is only her third visit in over a year. :rolleyes:

Renee, I'll call you later after she leaves.

FinLady 03-14-2008 10:16 AM

Sandy, LOL. I haven't heard the phrase "pinky swear" in a long time. :D

Renee, Coffee is mainly a morning thing. Occasionally I'll have it in the evening - but cannot have it after 7pm. LOL, than I'm up all night! Can you say, "bouncing off the walls?" :D

NaeNae 03-14-2008 10:31 AM

LMBFAO OK OK this is how it went......we Were talking about cholesterol levels...and Sandy said.,.. mines high because all I do is sit around on my fat ***** all day, to which I responded and ironically enough I am the one who has the fat butt not you....to which she responds I know!!!!!!!!!!!!!

LOL aherm, about that neighbor.......

Our neighborhood kids were all talking about clothes and what name brands they should be wearing etc. to which I said well for God's sake I buy all of the childs clothes at the Gap and Abercrombie and places like that, it's not as if I buy him clothes from the thrift store!

My neighbor is a stay at home mom of four children who DOES occasionally buy their clothes at the thrift store. OOPS opening mouth inserting foot.

barb02 03-14-2008 03:04 PM

Hey everyone! I was cleared by the dermatologist today. Lots of moles/freckles -- no sign of any problems. We talked about the cute pictures of his kids while he stared at my "not so little behind" (Sandy and Renee's conversation) and droopy parts of my body. Had lots of fun:rolleyes:

I then treated myself to lunch at a good Italian restaurant and some new books at the bookstore. I still have not heard back from the lab regarding UTI. Problem with bladder is getting better so my guess is that I do not have one. I should probably try calling them again.

Hope everyone has a good weekend. It is sunny and about 60 degrees here. I have even opened a few windows just a little to get some fresh air in the house.

hey, it's all good, lor!

at least it's NEW news to you.

me, I have to be *told* the same things over, and over... before it *sticks*

:D:p:D

ankle's better guys, swelling's almost halfway down, YAY !!

company from Texarkana is still here, they're off doin' the ATM (Actun Tunichil Muknal) cave tour:

wish I coulda gone, but... don't think I'm UP to it (WAH !)

so, poor Kay's stuck at home, while everybody's off havin' FUN...

:D:p:D

Finny-baybee, glad your tests came out normal.

:hug:

CayoKay 03-14-2008 04:14 PM

PS: you HUSH, Barb, about that luscious dinner... I haven't eaten Italian in three YEARS...

lol, there ain't exactly meatballs to be found in da jungle.

on the other hand, my guest is cooking PAD THAI for dinner! (she smuggled in some crucial ingredients, lol!)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pad_Thai

barb02 03-14-2008 05:58 PM

Pad thai sounds good to me. I love Thai food.

Finally got to talk to someone about my uti test and they said, "well you might have a mild infection." Then she asked if I still had symptoms and said I could take an antibiotic if I wanted to for 3 days and then be retested in 10 days. UGH! Why couldn't they make a recommendation? This was not my regular doctor -- saw a nurse practioner (sp?). So since it was 4:30 on a Friday... I told her to call them in and I am going to take them.

tkrik 03-14-2008 06:54 PM

Renee - I'm sorry Sandy was mean. But, hey, you know her, she'll kick us when were down. LOL (j/k Sandy - We love you and you know it).

Fin - That is fantastic. I am so glad you stress test came back normal. You must be so relieved.

Sandy - I'll bet you scrambled around to get your house clean. LOL So relieved I don't have MIL to contend with.:p

Barb - Glad the mole is fine. Not so glad about the indecisive NP. Don't you love it when they say "you might." It's either a yes or no based on the lab results. I do hope you feel better soon and I am glad you decided to go ahead and take them instead of waiting. Let us know how you are doing.

Kay - I don't think that place would be good for some with a sprained ankle let alone balance issues. LOL. That would be a dangerous place for me now. LOL. Oh story time:

DBF and I went on a mine tour. It was so cool. Obviously, it is dark in the mines and you have your mining hats on with their lights. Some parts of the mines have lights mounted and others don't. So were in this one part and I'm looking at this rock formation that was really cool looking. So I reach back and grab "DBF" and said, "Honey, look at that." I turned and looked back and it was not MY HONEY! It was someone elses. LOL. DBF saw the whole thing happen and was cracking up. The guy gave me this really surprised look and I just said, "Sorry, wrong honey."

~~~~
Enough of my publically announcing my embarrassing moments. I started my antibiotics and everything is melting and I'm starting to feel better.
Did my taxes today. Even though I don't have to file based on my earned income (or lack of LOL), this year if you want that ESP thing you have to file.
I really think they did this so that they can do a better job at their census, statistics, etc. Technically if your income is less than $3,000 you don't need to file.
Hope you all have a great weekend. I will be walking tomorrow at the MS Walk. Our team is doing great on our fund raising efforts.
FinLady 03-14-2008 08:30 PM
Barb, Glad to hear the moles and freckles are ok.
TK, LOL. Had to laugh at your cave story. Went to a haunted house once and grabbed the wrong guy too. LOL. Hubby was cracking up too. :D
Kay, Pad Thai is yummy. Hope you enjoyed it.
NaeNae 03-14-2008 08:36 PM
Tkrik- I do that ALL the time I walk off in a store and a man walks up beside me and I always try to grab him...it is never my husband, one really scary redneck lookin woman gave me the meanest look in Lowes when I tried to grab hers! And trust me LOL ain't nobody but each other that would be after either of them.
tkrik 03-14-2008 08:43 PM
We need to be careful what and who we are grabbing when we're out like that. LOL.
CayoKay 03-14-2008 08:46 PM
:D @ NaeNae !!!
like, you can KEEP him, seriously!
