Maggie's workin' hard to get her ducks all in a row, but for some reason, they keep clumping up!

:D:cool::D

Maggie says... the trick is to get away from all the distractions...

:p:wink::p

Vonn07 02-03-2008 01:25 PM

thanks, Kay .. (p.s. I did send out a postcard to you on Friday or Thursday! the days come and go so quickly!)

about the ducks .. usually when I'm out at the lake, there's a mom duck and duck-lettes ... and sometimes they all are in a row!

or get all my 'stuff' in a sock ... still waiting for the plumber-dude ... he had a farm emergency yesterday ... cows can't cross their legs as good as I can! LOL

CayoKay 02-03-2008 01:32 PM

on the postcard, (judging by the postmarks) transit time runs between three weeks, and three months...

it's widely variable, and much depends on availability of feed for the oxen-cart and team of drivers.

(just kidding, I THINK!)

:cool:

NaeNae 02-03-2008 10:12 PM

Hey yall not much happening here tonite fixing to go to bed,hubby is a mess,hopefully we will get some answers tomorrow!

On cloud nine tonight thanks to the GIANTS! Yeah! Although I lost my voice yelling during the game. Hope hubby gets well Renee.

Goodnight all,

Sara

FinLady 02-04-2008 10:15 AM

Good Morning all! :) Cup of coffee in hand and happy this morning. :Tip-Hat:

One of my symptoms has changed, but in a good way. I have some feeling in my feet today. Yipee! Makes me wonder how long I've been carrying an infection though. :rolleyes:

Of course they are tingling and burning a little, but right now I'm happy they aren't totally numb. LOL, prespective is everything. :Painting:

Still taking me meds. Still a little foggy. But all in all, ok today.

Hope everyone has a great day. Those who have been sick, I hope you feel better soon.

SandyC 02-04-2008 11:37 AM

Hi everyone. Jim and I watched the bowl last night...last two minutes...lol OMG, the Giants deserved that win. I did feel bad for the Patriots but the underdog won and that was cool.

Today I will be snow blowing. How does you have thunder, lightning and snow all at once? Ugh. Then I will be packing.

Renee, are you taking him in today? Jenn, glad your feeling better.

prettypearlgirl 02-04-2008 12:42 PM

Hey all! I'm still alive after my open studio event and will post pics soon. It was a very nice reception and I am so happy to have it over at this point. Now I just have to finish the clean up, LOL!!!

Hope everyone is doing well here. I need to catch up, LOL!!!

Carolyn:hug:

NaeNae 02-04-2008 04:51 PM

Well its official hubby is quarantined until next Monday! They didn't say anything about me and the kids other than we shoule keep all outside contact to a minimum. I have gotten 4 postcards this week YAY! Thanks Aly,Barb,Snoodles,Karen!

Got cramps...need Midol! Talked to Sandy on the phone, after I had taken a muscle relaxer...I swear her alarm goes off for when I become incoherant! Now gotta go figure out what to do for dinner was going to make Kentucky Browns but forgot to lay my turkey out so we'll have that tomorrow!

barb02 02-04-2008 05:10 PM

Snow is mostly melted now. It has been so foggy today that it is hard to see when outside. I am feeling kind of streesed right now. I go for my third tysabri infusion on Wednesday, and I am worried about having another reaction. Hopefully, the benadryl will work. I have also been experiencing a new symptom off and on for past few days (tingling and feeling of numbness in hands). Oh, and I seem to have a bit of a skin infection which my neuro's nurse was not concerned about. I am okay with that because I do want to get my infusion on schedule. On Saturday I am leaving For Austin, Texas. I am flying out of an airport about an hour away (little plane) to Chicago and then flying from there to Austin. Hopefully the flights will be uneventful and the weather will cooperate. I don't particularly like flying (does anyone?), but I do not allow that to stop me from traveling. And it was 80 in Austin today.:D

Okay, I am done stressing out for now. Thanks for letting me vent.:Sigh: I hope you are all having an uneventful Monday.

sabimax 02-04-2008 05:16 PM

I got the "hug" yesterday for the first time. Ended up at the er. ARGH! I go to my neuro today and hopefully he can help me out. I really hope today is a better day.

I hope everyone has a great day today!:)

FinLady 02-05-2008 09:24 AM

Renee, Sorry to hear the hubby was quarentined.

Joelle, Sorry to hear that the "hug" sent you to the er.

Sarah, Sorry to hear your symptoms are acting up.

Barb, Hope your infusion goes ok this time with the benedryl.

Sandy, Hope you're packing and traveling goes ok. Your mom's still in my prayers.

~~~~~
Still cog-foggy, but can still feel my feet. ;)
DH is out of town today, so I'm just relaxing until I go to work. It's in the 60s here today :Melting 2: and we're under a flood watch since it's raining also.
Hope everyone has a good day.
tkrik 02-05-2008 09:55 AM
Renee - Do you have cabin fever yet? LOL. I'm sorry to hear about the quaratine. How's hubby feeling today?
Carolyn - You must be exhausted. I'm glad your open house went well.
Barb - VACATION!!! What a nice break from the weather. You can thaw out a bit. lol.
Sarah - I see your posts. How are you doing today?
Joelle - Ouch! Those kind of hurt, huh? Not the kind of hug we like to get. It's not one of those warm fuzzy kinds of hugs. I hope all goes well today. Let us know how you are doing.
Fin - It's warmer there then the SW. Today is supposed to be 51. I opened my blinds this morning and there on the rocks outside my window is a big chunk of ice. I'm so confused. I don't know what to do with ice. I looked out my other window and there is ice on my car!!! How do I get rid of it. LOL. j/k. That really isn't too uncommon in the winter.
Sandy - Are you packed yet? How did DS do with his car yesterday?
~~~~~
Today I hope to get some work. One of the places I transcribe for haven't done their month end reports yet. They're running behind. Some time this week I am going to get slammed with work.

In the meantime, I am working on postcards and a painting for DBF. Those are my filler projects for the week. YIKES! I better get busy.

Have a great day everyone!

SandyC 02-05-2008 09:59 AM

Hey all, I haven't heard from Chris yet. He couldn't take the car in until today. Something about homework. lol

I am almost packed. Just have to throw the clothes in after I finish washing them.

I know I haven't been answering everyone but things are a little crazy around here trying to get ready. I hope you all understand. I think of you daily.

If your state is voting today, please try to get out and vote. Let's make history!

Postcards, I have recieved a few and will be sending mine out after we get back from my mom's surgery.

Hugs and love,
Sandy

NaeNae 02-05-2008 11:01 AM

I'll call ya later after I vote. HISTORY BABY!

tkrik 02-05-2008 11:37 AM

6" of snow?!?! I am so a desert whoose (sp?). It's probably 40 degrees out and I freezing my bu** off. What a big baby! LOL.

Vonn07 02-05-2008 12:09 PM

DID YAS MISS ME??? HUH??? HUH???

well, no water .. well, no pump - guess I've been a bad girl .. so he came on sunday and took the pump!:eek: dumb thing cracked! he'll fix it and get it back as soon as he can! THEN on Sunday - my phone went dead ... talk about being stranded! LOL

finally got the phone line back (today - around 9am cst) - it wasn't my fault tho .. it was a ground wire at the local housing unit that fried ... now I'm back .. and have to get caught up with school - so won't see yous for a tad bit longer ...

into the 5th week of classes (only 2 weeks before finals) .. and still carrying strong A's in both .. like 95 and 96% ... never made honors before!

it's about 32 degrees out and the snow is melting and crashing down from off the roof .. catches me off guard every so often!

question: can a doctor write up an Rx for 'central air' or better living conditions?? something like that?? thanks! inquiring minds would like to know!

be good - stay outta trouble or else!! LOL

barb02 02-05-2008 12:24 PM

Foggy and thunder storms here. The wind and thunder kept me awake half of the night. :rain: Then we are supposed to get a little snow tonight. Sandy and Vonn, good luck up north. I know you are supposed to get more. I have been watching the weather forecasts for Chicago due to my connecting flight there on saturday. I hate O'Hare.

I just came back from voting. Turnout seems pretty strong considering this is a primary and the weather sucks! Isn't that a nice word for a professor to use? My students would be so proud.:eek:

Did somebody use the beach word? You may be blackballed on here for that:p

Joelle, Hang in there. I hope you are able to get some relief.

GO VOTE!!!:Dancing-Chilli:

Yes you can get a doctor to write up for air conditioning. Not sure you can specify central air but I know in Illinois a doctor can write it up for you. This works mainly for those renting I think. Something about your landlord must provide it for you?

Thanks, Sandy ... my problem is that I rent the land for the trailer that I own ... hmmm ... will ask ... the county! let them pay for it out of the trillion of dollars ... LOL

Barb - I live north of Green Bay about another 60 miles .. sometimes we get it, sometimes we don't ... and we can go 15 miles and the weather is totally different .. missed my calling to be a weather-guesser! get paid for being wrong ALOT!! LOl

NaeNae 02-05-2008 05:06 PM

barb02 02-05-2008 05:29 PM

  1. What is a Kentucky Brown? I have never heard it before:confused:

GIGI69 02-05-2008 06:13 PM

Well, spasms are bad today

which means a rough night. But, maybe that means I'll get to stay up and see the primary results. I'm a political junkie. I can't help it. At least it won't be reruns of CNN all night tonight.

Hope the rest of you get a good night's sleep.

FinLady 02-05-2008 06:22 PM

Got home from work, yehaw. Next few days are going to be interesting. Boss is out of town so I'm "in charge". What am I going to do? LOL. :D

Fogging a bit and dinner's baking in the oven.

GIGI69 02-05-2008 06:33 PM

FinLady 02-06-2008 10:09 AM

Good morning all! :) Have my cup of coffee in hand - ok, I have my third cup of coffee in hand and finally waking up. LOL :D

Everything is going ok so far. ***knock on wood*** Hoping it stays that way.

~~~
Sarah, :hug: Sorry to hear everything's acting up. Hope you feel better soon.
Renee, Hope your hubby feels better soon. Enforced cabin fever is no fun. :(
Sandy, How's the packing going? Hope things are going ok for you and Jim.
GiGi, LOL, the only problem with switching seats is that there's only three of us at the office. :D
Vonn, Congrats on the grades! :cool: Hope your water comes back on soon.
NaeNae 02-06-2008 10:10 AM
Well hoprefully everyone survived all of the wicked weather!!! We are actually expecting it today! Fin and Sarah hope both of yalls brains clear soon! Wish I could send you some wind to help it blow over, as we are blowing away here!
I am hoping to get down to the beach today as the storms roll in and do a bit of photography.
Barb- a Kentucky Brown, is a thick slice of white bread or Texas toast made like French toast, then you put it in a pan and top it with sliced turkey breast (not lunch meat) then you pour a bechamel sauce over that, mine is milk flour butter white cheddar and parmesan, broil it until it is brown and bubbly then top it with fresh tomato and bacon!
OMG, That sounds soooo good! :)
tkrik 02-06-2008 10:23 AM
Good morning all! Have my coffee. Worked from 5:45 a.m. until now - got most of the dictation typed and sent off. I taking a break right now to say good morning.
Renee - That sounds good! I'll have to make it as I think DDs would like it.
Fin - How's the cog fog doing? I like Gigi's idea. LOL. That would be fun!
Gigi - Sorry about the spasms. How are you doing today?
Barb - I was wondering what Kentucky Browns were too. I'm glad you asked. Thanks.
Sarah - I'm sorry you aren't doing well. I hope things go better for you.
Sandy - No chit chatting, PACK! LOL. Actually, I get more done while on the phone than not. It doesn't make sense but I can multi-task better when I am on the phone.
I hope everyone is doing OK with the wicked weather and you all have a good day. I'm going back to work.
I'm soooooo jealous, Fin!
our coffee grinder has come down with a severe case of mold.
it needs to be totally disassembled, and sterilized... and until we get around to that, no coffee here at Chez Kay!
:(:mad::(
my update: a new duck is sitting fulltime on a nest!
she's all white-feathered, and her name is Hannah Haole.
I haven't had a chance to count how many eggs she's setting on, and it'll be a long wait to meet the ducklings... (33 more days)
we had a possum infiltrate the chicken coop fenced area, and quite a ruckus going on.
ya gotta picture my husband out there with a flashlight, and a wildly-flailing broom, in the pitch-darkness of 3 am.
:D:cool::D
Aw. Thanks! I'm actually better today. I went home, got in a warm tub, took my zanaflex, and put my leg pumps on. I watched the SUper DUper Tuesday returns until about midnight and fell asleep and woke up at 3am. I had to give a speech at 7:30 this morning. So I typed up my entire speech (which I normally never do) and got through it without looking like too much of an idiot (or zombie). Spasms are much easier today. Thanks for asking.
How you doin'?
