Good morning all. :) We're having a foggy morning in my neck of the woods. It's kind of cool to see when you don't have to drive in it, LOL.
It's like a white veil barely touching the ground. And the ducks are using it as cover to go through the back yards to find food. Saw a mallard and it's mate scrounging around outside. We have two ponds at the front of our development, which our house is near. We get ducks and canadian geese a lot. the ducks I like, the geese are mean. Do my best not to annoy them especially with nesting season coming up. Hope everyone has a great day. |
Well I made it through the MIL visit. It wasn't as bad as I imagined so I am sane still. Sorry to disappoint you all. lol
Chris and Nik are leaving us to go back to college today and I'll finish up some laundry. Other than that, the day will be busy as the boys gather all their stuff up. Have a great day everyone! |
Still sane?? Doesn't that imply she was sane in the first place????
Kayo I had a dream I came and visited you last night! Oh I was hammered last night too LOL that coulda been why! Spent the morning yesterday zipping around Macys on my scoooter aherm $400. later my husband was about to have me escorted outta the building LOL! Had to buy the kids summer clothes though! And some new makeup and shoes for me :) Spent reast of the day just hanging out on the beach and being lazy, went to our neighbors ( the new ones) again last night didn't get home till 1 this morning Olivia was passed out and Dayton was looking droopy LOL. We were drinking junebugs my nondrinking hubby even had one, it was funny his eyes got all slanty and I thought he was going to fall asleep...I had 4 and I'm talking big glasses here, think those fat rootbeer mugs, the rest of us polished off two pitchers full and were laughing our butts off, the neighbors yelling walk safely!!!! As we left...I'm sure half the neighborhood heard. I fell into bed with the room spinning and now I am in desperate need of coffee! Next weekend we are having dinner over here and having mojito's! Yall wanna come? |
BTW here's the junebug recipe.....
1 oz MidoriŽ melon liqueur 3/4 oz MalibuŽ coconut rum 3/4 oz banana liqueur 1 oz sweet and sour mix 1 oz pineapple juice YUMMMOOOOO! |
Renee, that drink sounds good and dangerous at the same time. It sounds like one of those you don't realize you had too much until it's too late because it tastes so good. I've had a few of those in the past. :D
Sandy, Glad you survived the MIL visit. ~~~~ My hubby and I ran around town yesterday. Got some workout clothes, a new shark sweeper, thinking of signing up for classes to learn to shoot skeet. All in all a pretty good day. Of course traffic was insane yesterday. The only thing I could figure out was people doing last minute shopping for Easter, but one never knows. Plus hope we don't get too much rain or snow for a few days. Our rivers are very close to flood stage in places along the banks, and the water is rushing pretty fast in them. |

they're FIERCE defending their beebies !! now that Gwyn's eggs have hatched, she's gone from being my NICE goosie, to a total beeyotch. she BIT my toes this morning, when I was distributing leafy greens to the goslings! I am really glad we snitched some of her eggs, and put 'em in the incubator. three of the six hatched, and are running happily around (Larry, Curly, & Mo) but only ONE from her nest came out. (not named yet, any ideas?) so... it's gettin' really HONKY around here nowadays... :D we had a party last night, TOO, NaeNae! Pina Coladas and Mojitos... yum yum yum! 7 for dinner, lots of fun, first dinner party I've given in centuries. but I peaked out early, and crawled off to bed at 9-ish, over in the old cabin. heard them giggling and laughing, until midnight, in my new house (that we haven't moved into yet) |

Sorry. I've seen the Highlander too many times. "There can be only one" :D |

Connor, I LIKE it! thanks! Connor fights his way through the centuries, until the time of the Gathering, when the few immortals who have survived the endless battles come together to fight until only one remains, and that winner will receive The Prize. The time: 1985. The place: New York City. The final fight is about to begin, and in the end, there can be only one. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0091203/plotsummary if it turns out to be a girl, well, we'll amend it a bit, to SARAH Connor! http://img291.imageshack.us/img291/9921/sarah1cx6.jpg http://img291.imageshack.us/img291/9...hconnorbe9.jpg |
Good morning all:) Begging my morning coffee to wake me up today. I slept about 14 hrs and am still tired. :Zzzz:
Trying to remember to wear the bit o' green today for St Patty's. Have a good day all :) |
:Bawling: It was Olivia's first day of preschool, we went in and she sat down in a chair at the table and just covered her face with her hands. Of course mommy is taking it worse I think and I pick her up in 3 hours!
|
 to you Renee. I hope this works out for you both.
|
:hug:s Renee. Been there done that 4 times and it NEVER gets easy.:(
It will get easiER though, 3 hours will go by quickly and I bet Olivia is having a blast.:) Sox |
Aw Renee. It is so hard but she will be home soon to tell you all about the fun that she had. Hang in there. It's only a little bit longer.
Fin - My coffee just isn't doing it this morning either. |

Awww Renee, it will get easier. Those three hours wont seem enough later down the road. haha Hugs to you!
I plan to scrub my nasty kitchen floor today. It has grooves in the tile so it's time. Ugh. |
Just watched that woman on the boards post on youtube about her new shark steam cleaner,I'm thinking I might need one of those!
|
You know, I like it but the pushing part concerns me. lol I hate working out!
I do have a hand held one and I love it! |

How's the countdown going Renee? |
What brand do you have TK?
|
I have the Shark. They do have a newer one that is on wheels that I am thinking of getting. It's about $100 at Target.
Right now, mine is at DBF's rental house. Boy, it saved us a lot of work in that house. It cut through so much of the grease and grime those filthy people left in the kitchen. Seriously, layers of grease. In the 7 years they lived there I don't think they cleaned once. You could actually write your name on the wall and see it because of all the dirt on it. I do miss it. But I am thinking of getting the one on wheels as then I can just roll it around as opposed to carrying it. |
Here's the link to the one at Target. It gives reviews as well.

I purchased a shark but haven't tried it yet. When I get my energy back up to try it, I'll report on mine. :D
Just thinking to myself what a fun day I'm gonna have at work. May have to swing by Starbucks on the way there, but not sure it will help. :D |
Thanks for the postcard SuzyQ!
Olivia had a good time at preschool, and Dayton and I were able to get all of his homeschooling done by the time we had to go get her YAY!!! It seriously helps to be able to work uninterrupted. I cooked dinner for us and the neighbors...both Iraq War vets who hate to cook so I cook for them at least once a week! Hubby has been in bed since he got home with a migraine, I have some sort of poopy thing (ACK!) Hubby gets results of his sleep study tomorrow! Thats good trust me! Sunday for Easter the neighbors want us and the neighbors across the street to have a party, I get to cook of course! LOL |
JEnn? Aly? you out there...thanks both of you for postcards...hugssss
Sorry been MIA....I was travelling last week for work...while away was pretty darn sick...vomitting and all..ugggg but had a nice time at classes and relaxing just ME at a hotel....(but would have wished for better health during to enjoy better hehe) Just about to head to bed, trying to get enough sleep for ME...hugss to all, miss you all, sarah |
OMG, I am so sore in my right arm. That darn kitchen floor took me all day to scrub! It was really filthy. It has these grooves in it that collect dirt. Yuck! In between I cleaned the kitchen fan, shelf, patio doors and all the appliances. I was on a roll to kill myself huh?
I spoke with my mother today and let's just say it didn't go well. She once again accused me of speaking to her neurosurgeon. She thinks me and my sister called him and said she wasn't ready to go back to work or drive. This surgery did a doozy on her mentally and it has us concerned. She once again told me that I am giving her a headache and even asked me if that is why I called? It's getting so hard to not be upset with her right now. I feel like she was friendly when she needed money but now that she doesn't she is being down right rude. She is doing the same thing to my sister. She even went so far as to say that her friends kids treat her better and that she wants to go into a nursing home rather than live with us. Ummm, not a problem with that right now. lol She did see the eye surgeon and he thinks the eye problems will heal on their own which is good and said she could drive when the surgeon released her. The eye surgeon wants to see her in four months to re-check her eyes and if she hasn't improved he will prescribe eyeglasses to help. |
Yo, NaeNae?
Here's some more gosling pix for Olivia! Today, I spent an hour on my front steps, geese-gazing. Safely ensconced behind the child-safety gate, I passed out crisp lettuce, and enjoyed the show: Here's the youngest gosling Connor, his mom Gwyn, dad Gandalf, and aunt Glinda: http://img410.imageshack.us/img410/7959/dscn4706lz7.jpg "This lettuce is some tasty stuff." http://img204.imageshack.us/img204/2598/dscn4714ug1.jpg "Hey, youse guys wanna watch da baby, while I take a dip?" http://img204.imageshack.us/img204/7497/dscn4733im2.jpg "Let's see if I can fit myself into this WATER dish..." http://img410.imageshack.us/img410/5324/dscn4736lt2.jpg "Okay, I'm done... Who's next?" |
Oh what cute little "gooselets"!!!
Your little "chicklets" are really cute too. What a menagerie and how lucky you are to have all those really fun critters! How do you keep them safe from the nasty critters who see them as a menu item?? |
Cayo, those pics & comments are so cute! I wanna hold one!!! Pretty Pleeeease?

well, together, they're enough to scare off full-grown adult HUMANS, lol! put it this way, Janie... I haven't even gotten close enough to do a "well-check" on the new baby yet. most of my "viewing fun" today was about watching the pecking order, made manifest. all the ducks and chickens are naturally curious about the new baby, but Gandalf and Glinda don't let ANYONE near little Connor! they lower their heads, (the threat position) and CHARGE at all who DARE to approach. and Momma Gwen? well, she actually BIT my toes when I tried to hand-feed lettuce to the baby! oddly enough, the three (Larry, Curly, & Mo) that I hatched in the incubator are on some sort of "species recognition sufferance" program, and are allowed to travel with the geese, but even THEY are not allowed near their (naturally hatched) sibling. lol, sometimes I feel like the Margaret Mead of the goose world, as I sit and watch, and ponder over their interactions. I PITY any wildcat who plans to munch upon a baby under the guidance of these zealous guard geese!:D:cool: |

COME on DOWN !! :p |
Renee, Glad to hear Olivia had fun and that you got some stuff done yesterday while she was gone. It looks like it will work out for you all. :)
Sandy, Sorry to hear your mom is taking out her rough time on ya. I hope she does get better soon. Sarah, Sorry to hear you were sick on your business trip. Glad you still had a good time at the classes Kay, Love the goose in the water bowl. That pic is funny. :D ~~~~~ Good morning all :) A little more awake today, LOL. Still a little run down, but still a trucking. Can't believe Easter is Sunday! When it's early like this, it always seems to sneak up. We're going to see my MIL on Sunday to celebrate. She seemed really excited when I last talked to her. |
Renee - Glad Olivia had a good time and that you and Dayton were able to get some work done. I also think that is so kind of you to make dinner for your neighbors. I am sure they love it and really appreciate it. (If not, you can come cook for me anytime. I would appreciate it and so would DDs as I am not a very good cook.;):D)
Sarah - I am so sorry you were sick on your trip. I know you were looking forward to some ME time while you were away. I hope you were able to relax a little and enjoy sleeping in the bed without little ones joining in. Sandy - I'm sorry your mom is giving you a hard time. It must be so hard to not get frustrated and be patient with her. Now what did the neurosurgeon say when you called him? Hang in there. BTW, that was a lot of cleaning yesterday. Are you ok?:D Kay (a.k.a. Margaret Mead, or MM) - That little Connor is so cute. The only "animals" I get to watch are little kids running around. DDs went to the store for me yesterday and came back and said it looked like we were running a day care out in front of my apartment. LOL. I did enjoy watching this one little boy, maybe about 3. Outside my sliding glass door there is a hill with cemented rocks that lead up to the building across from me. Kids LOVE these rocks. Anyhow, he was on the top and had a baseball mitt on. The kids down below were throwing a tennis ball up to him and he would just watch it pass by and then bounce down the hill. He never caught to ball or moved to go get it. It was cute. Fin - Glad you are a little more awake this morning. I am too! I took 2 naps yesterday (1 1/2 hour and then a 3 hour:eek:). I am glad your MIL is excited to have you come for Easter. ~~~~ I forgot to tell you all that I made the 3 miles, spasticity and all!!!! It didn't feel too good but I just kept going. Then you reach a point where it's not worth turning back. Plus, I'm stubborn and was determined to finish even if it took me 2 hours to do it. One of the local fire stations walked. Yes, ladies, they lead the walk. Probably to keep all the women motivated to walk fast just to keep up with those lovely men. DD17 and her friends were all wound up. LOL. Down girls. There was a raffle at the end and one of the girls asked me what they were raffling and I told her a date with one of the recruits. She booked off to the raffle booth and we looked on just cracking up as you could see her ask them about it and their reactions. Took a nice 3 hour nap after the walk though - partially medicine induced. LOL. |
TK, LOL. I love the idea of raffling off a fireman. heehee. :D
Thank you for making the full three miles. That's awesome! |
great pix, Kay!! ... I see turkeys (5-20 at a time) all the time (looking for a boyfriend!) ...and yesterday saw 3-4 pheasant hens ...
sorry about your mom's 'disting' you, Sandy ... just remember - you can say no ... and then write it down ... because when 'they' come back to say YOU didn't help .. you can say .. well, on this day and that one .. and this is when Jim & I dropped everything in the winter to help .. and this is the thanks I got ... then let'em squirm! having my coffee with ya, Jenn!! next tax stuff and quilting ... already finished the dishes and shower/shot .. good to go! Hey Tricia - isn't watching little kids a hoot?? ... I have to admit, I'd be right beside DD17 to sign up for the raffle ... we have a few 'good men' here that I wouldn't mind 'winning'! LOL Renee - so, how much are you charging to rent out your new toy?? **UPDATE** working on filling up my calendar for this year, trips, visits .... getaways ... tax returns are still coming in .. have to say it's been a good year .. plus school ... A-OKay .. about the new guy - I've decided [Hermy (Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer) ... says: I'm INDEPENDENT ... I don't want to be an elf, I want to be a dentist!] that I welcome all friends ... don't want to get into that 'romantically delayed' syndrome ... he knows my number and that I still live up here ... I have things to do - things to quilt, a corporation to establish ... and bills to pay .. I can always use help ... but not going to worry about it anymore (just can't!) ... so, off I go ... fixing up the tin-condo.... can't afford to move .. but I can still build my lighthouse by next summer! have a great day! will check up on you all lay-ta!! ta-ta |
I am OK. My sister called and asked what happened. Apparently my mom called her and cried. See, my mom will do that. She will dish out all these remarks and then when you stand up for yourself she gets hurt. I don't know anymore. My BIL said to try not to say something I might regret if something happened to her. I agree so I will keep my mouth shut. I am putting it in God's hands. It's just so hard when you call your mother and she doesn't do anything but complain about her life and all those around her. (insert deep breath)
About the cleaning. When I am upset I clean and I clean like a crazy person! Jim has often said I should get mad more often. lol Today I plan to polish all the woodwork. Small steps in spring cleaning. |

muchas gracias! took 50 photos, to get four good ones, lol! the buggers move around so darn fast... at least... most of the HORIZONS are, er, um, horizontal this time, eh? and things are *mostly* in focus. Quote:

Sandy sorry to hear about your mom, I was gonna call you last night but fell asleep!
LOL thanks Kayo Olivia had me print her pics of the wok woks! They are now on her wall! Hope you feel better soon sarah! Hey Twink long time no talky! How you doin? Took hubby to doc this morning he definitely has sleep apnea and put him on a c-pap. Olivia cried when I dropped her off at daycare today, but was happy as a clam when we went to get her. I got my disability documents my neuro sent to the judge today and she told him that my MS was progressive and there was no way I could possibly work even 1 hour per day! Hopefully that helps! |
Tkirik, come on over for dinner any time...heck if I'd have known I would have mail ordered me a fireman! LOL Congrats on the walk!
Vonn- I have a new toy? Kayo i just showed Olivia the pics online again cause she was crying and she got this big smile and said...There's a wonderpet! It's ming ming! The wok wok! |
