um, were you also dizzy, with the room spinning a bit?

first time I got vertigo, I thought it was food poisoning (or an intestinal bug) causing the vomiting...

I ended up sleeping on the bathroom floor, because it was too much trouble to *get UP* and go back to bed, 'cause I'd just end up back in the bathroom again...

Meclizine helped a LOT with that little problem.

but if ya had the dreaded "D" as well, then probably it's not vertigo.

if you don't feel better by tomorrow, or can't keep any food down, make sure you see your doctor, and REST, and drink Pedia-lyte, or Gatorade, to keep hydrated.

and I hope you feel better SOON !!

my update:

the three little baby goosies are all doing well in the brooder box, with the heat lamp on at night... they appear happy, healthy, and vigorous.

my hubby hung a bundle of tender young grass from the ceiling, and the goslings have hours of fun tugging at it, and chewing the grass stems.

they're eating chicken starter mash, with Brewer's Yeast powder mixed in, and one section of the egg crate is filled with a bit of rough sand, so they can get some grit in their diet.

the plan, at this point, is to wait and see what momma Gwynny hatches, out in her little shed, and add these babies to her brood, if it can be done safely... as it's almost warm enough outdoors.

none of the other goose eggs in the incubator hatched... (ah, well...)

http://img141.imageshack.us/img141/694/dscn4543rn0.jpg
almost impossible to get the lil buggers to hold STILL for the camera!

http://img141.imageshack.us/img141/1619/dscn4549oz1.jpg
"Ooooooh, look, a BUG !! Wonder if that'll taste good?"

oh, and the gosling with the booties?

his feet are all flattened now, so the boots were removed, and he's walking well.

sorry the pix are kinda blurry, guess I've got a wee bit of tremor-thang goin' on here.

other news, guinea mommy and her babies are doing well, and hubby is busy building half-a-dozen new cages... yesterday we went to the capitol (oh, I'm soooooo tired!), to get a roll of wire mesh, and large sturdy door bolts that my numb hands can manage easily.

and the duck nest by the pond is up to 16 eggs... WOW!

I sat on a tree stump out by the pond, watching the ducks glide by, as I sipped my coffee, it was very peaceful...

oh, and last night I actually got an EMAIL from my youngest, (in Oregon, in college)

I swear, it's been MONTHS since he wrote...

his excuses? didn't have my email addy, due to broken computer, no internet access at apartment, and couldn't use internet cafe, no money, and of course, he's so busy these days, lol! SHEESH! don'tcha know, a mom worries, dear?

CayoKay 03-06-2008 02:34 PM

okay, I had my sweetie take some pix, 'cause most of mine came out REALLY blurry.

and lol, it was almost as hard for HIM to get a photo, 'cause all three *rarely* hold still at the same time!

they're learning to flap their wings, and JUMP now.

also, saw two of them lower their beaks, and doing the "CHARGE" thing, like their evil aunt Glinda.

here's a few more:

NaeNae, these are for your darlin' daughter!

barb02 03-06-2008 04:44 PM

I had my bloodwork done this morning. And or course my neuro's office just called and said they wanted me to have an additional test to check for antibodies. It takes 3 weeks to get the results so I have to go back tomorrow morning for another blood draw.

NaeNae 03-06-2008 04:59 PM

LOL Kayo Olivia saw the ducks and said WOK Woks!!!!! and wonderpets!!!! (one of her fav cartoons) I think they're pretty darn cute myself!

ugh tummy bugs stink! Literally and not so.

Ok Sandy so, I decided you were right about finding a new doc anyway thinking back to the 3 times, twice with allergic reactions to meds SHE ordered and once while in the hospital with a flare, and noone ever being able to get ahold of her that maybe we need to be searching for someone who specializes in MS. So I call my PCM's office today to schedule an appt with her....SHE GOT OUT OF THE MILITARY! Hello??? In one week? with NO notice? Are all of my doctors out of their minds? So I now have an appt tomorrow with some other doctor whom I have never seen before and does not know me from Adam....more to the point I had made the appointment thinking OK if I have to go screaming up the chain of command I am having them send me to either Georgetown or Johns Hopkins MS Centers.....when what do my wondering eyes appear.....but a minature sleigh shaped like the mail truck...with an invitation to attend a seminar by a renowned MS specialist....whose practice is 30 minutes from me!

So I called their office....of course they aren't tricare providers,because tricare doesn't pay crap right?? But said that if I could wrangle an out of network referral out of Tricare they'd be happy to book me an appointment, so I am going to go tomorrow and try to strong arm the clinic into it! Hey its cheaper than sending me to Baltimore and Johns Hopkins or DC to Georgetown right? Cause then they'd have to pay for my travel and my hubbys expenses!

greta 03-06-2008 06:01 PM

Kay-
Renee's post got me "wondering"....Do you have a turtle. If not, you really need to get one. Then you'll have all the wonderpets and whenever you get into trouble, they'll sing a little song and get you out of it.

I know the cartoon is meant for 3 year olds, but I absolutely love it!

Way to go Renee!!!!! You get em girl!

Did ya'll hear Patrick Swayze is sick with pancreatic cancer? How sad.

NaeNae 03-06-2008 07:37 PM

LOL Greta how do you think I get anything done with Olivia? We sing Teamwork! The Wonderpets are pretty dang cute, we watch them all the time plus have the movies. Olivia wants to go to Petsmart all the time and says i'm getting a wok wok, and a shishy, and a tuddle,and a cat and a wonderpet! ( I think she means guinea pig LOL)

Sandy I saw that about Patrick Swayze, my dad died of pancreatic cancer as did his uncle. My dad was diagnosed and dead within 5 months. It's a sad sad thing I could tell you the horrors but don't even want to think about it again!

Here is a pic of the Wonderpets in case yall might have missed the cartoon LOL!

FinLady 03-07-2008 08:51 AM

Renee, LOL. Thanks for the wonderpets. I try not to go into petsmart because it is soo hard to pass up the kitty adoption center. I want to take them all home, LOL. But I learned I only have enough attention for two fur babies, so my home is full.

Hope you can get the referal. Definitely would be easier on everyone with the specialist being so close. Go get them.

Barb, Hope this other blood draw goes well. Sorry to hear it takes so long to get the results. :hug:

Kay, What a busy nursey you have going on. I loved the first gosling pic. It looked like it was going "Hey, what is that thing pointed at me?" :D

Sandy, Yea, heard about Patrick swayze. Couldn't believe it. Feel so bad for him.

~~~~~~
Heard from Vonn yesterday. Busy with tax season and school, but doing ok. Will try to check in when things calm down.
As for me, praying my drive to and from work will be ok. Supposed to have a large snow storm enter our area this afternoon. Hope the bad stuff doesn't happen until tonight.
Think I'm beginning another flare. Not 100% sure. Just know that I've been dead tired the past week and cog-fogging badly on and off. Also have that feeling that somethings just not right. It's kinda hard to explain, even to myself - LOL.
Going to relax the best I can this weekend, but know myself enough that I'll probably putter around the house. :rolleyes: LOL, I'm not stubborn, am I? :D
Well I woke up this morning to a post on the tysabri thread that I should quit taking tysabri or may become a "statistic." At first I was going to ignore it, but I felt the need to reply. I think I was civil? Now I am off for my bloodraw before the snow starts falling. I am so ready for Spring!
right on target, oh Finny One!
the gosling was TRYING to get my camera strap... for a snack!
:eek:
just returned from market, laden with 50 lbs of carrots, and nine bags of lettuce tear-off leaves, AND three bags of cabbage scraps, AND two 40 lb bags of smashed papayas.
the chickens and pigs are now havin' a GRAND ol' time, chowin' down...
it's PARTY TIME !!
oh, and we got stuck in a *traffic jam* on our way to the San Ignacio vegetable market this morning at 5:30 am...
unbelievable!
I didn't know there were enough CARS in Belize to MAKE a traffic jam!
it was the big La Ruta Maya Challenge Canoe Race, which of course, I forgot ALL about.
http://img444.imageshack.us/img444/4...ers2005ym2.jpg
The four day event is a grueling paddle down the 175 miles of the Belize Old River from the historic Hawksworth Bridge in San Ignacio, to the Belcan Bridge in downtown Belize City. There are three night stops as the race progresses: Banana Bank Lodge on the first night, Russel's Place in Bermudian Landing on the second night, and at Old River Tavern in Burrell Boom on the third night.
http://www.belizetourism.org/events-...ruta-maya.html
PS: no need to try and explain nebulous odd feelings, our women's intuition about upcoming flares tends to be *dead on*
PPS: please convey my regards to Vonny-baybee.
FinLady 03-07-2008 11:47 AM
Barb, read your response. seemed civil to me. Just take care of yourself, which you and your doc seem to be doing. :hug:
Kay, LOL. That women's intuition thing. :D Ah well, if it's coming at least it's warning me this time.
I'm sorry but I had to laugh about your reaction to the traffic jam you were in. My bro went to cambodia for a few years (where he met his wife) and there were more motorbikes/scooters than cars. Even they caused traffic to be nuts sometimes.
SandyC 03-07-2008 11:55 AM
Last night sweet Olivia actually talked to me for the first time! She couldn't stop telling me about the wok wok's. If I said quack quack she would be quiet. But if I said wok wok she responded! haha Renee took the phone away from her and she still kept going on about the wok woks...lol
I got my bills and budget done. I am officially closed as the Bank of Sandy. I am saving money and paying off my car and house. I must stick to the budget. I must.
:D:p:D
the recent closure of KayBank branches was preceded by a 10k loan to my baby sister, who subsequently discovered that the house she bought had a little covert METH LAB in the backyard toolshed... yeah, we're talkin' toxic city here!
the sellers' son went to prison, the house is unsaleable, and the housing market collapsed.
Amen sister! I told my mom yesterday when she was going on and on about the doctor not releasing her to go back to work that she needs to call my older brother. She asked me why? I said "because you told him before surgery that you didn't know what you needed and would let him know after surgery." She said she didn't remember that. I then told her that it's only fair and (I think that hurt her feelings) that I think the other kids should also help out. YOU NEVER WIN WITH FAMILY WHEN YOU LOAN MONEY TO THEM. That is my new quote..haha I love my mom and will help her but only after her other three kids start pitching in.
NaeNae 03-07-2008 01:57 PM
Warning LONG RANT HERE!
Still waiting for the over $40,000. we have loaned my sister in law.....oh wait she never intends to pay us back a dime, I officially closed the bank of Malouf about 4 years ago...which is why my in laws hate me LOL! As if I care...wretched people all of them!
Greta...wanna come over and watch Wonderpets? I always feel like the mom on those old commercials about teaching your kids...like when the mom is produce shopping and you can't see the kid and she is talking to the vegetables and it starts raining ( the veggie misters) and she uses some weird thing for a hat...and all the other shoppers are looking at her like shes crazy, that would be us singing Teamwork! My hubby and I frequently look at each other and say...this is sewiousss! LOL and then crack up.
My update...went to the doc today and to say I left ****** is an understatement. First my appt was at 0930 have to be there 20 minutes early for the military so I get there around 5 after nine, waiting waiting, oh and I had my walker cause my legs are so weak I can hardly stand, Olivia is getting antsy and misbehaving...the entire waiting room clears out 3 times and still noone calls me, so finally at 1015 I say ummm I'm really going to need to reschedule if this is going to be an all day thing here, to which the reply is oh I'll call someone right now. Soooo 10 minutes later this girl comes to get me and says well your doctors behind schedule today...she doesn't rush her patients but gives them all the time they need....My reply was well my schedule only allows me to be upright without assistance for maybe 30 minutes so a phone call letting me know clinic was running late or even someone coming out and giving me the option to leave and go sit in my car for awhile would have been appreciated ( I get testy when dealing with horrible pain multiple days in a row) so she takes me back asks all the questions blah blah.
The doctor comes in I tell her I have lost confidence in my neuro she agrees with me, I tell her about all of my symptoms she says wow sounds like you are having alot of nerve related issues going on...ummm ya think? Told her I've been bawling for 3 days because of the pain...no response there,maybe she thought I wanted drugs? I dunno she didn't offer...but not what I was after as I have a well stocked supply here! I told her I wanted to see an MS specialist not just some random neuro and explained to her that I was well aware of how tricare worked and that the only covered neuros in my area aside from Portsmouth who turned me down, were the 3 civilians who were willing to accept Tricare's pennies on the dollar reimbursement. I told her about the practice in Newport News that had the largest MS population in this area and also mentioned a more specialized center like John's Hopkins or Georgetown, her reply to me was well we can try again to see if Portsmouth will take you other than that you will have to try another in network provider maybe someone who is older? Practiced longer? I asked you mean like the 90 year old rheumatologist you sent me to who wanted to check my bowels?? ( That isn't a joke) She would not even consider referring me to someone out of network, and offered no suggestions as to what I am supposed to do in the meantime with this worsening of pain/symptoms....oh wait she did order a b-12 level!
Needless to say hubby was ticked and started calling people himselfand is wating on some woman to call hime back. GRRRRRR
Now back to your regularly scheduled chat.........
SandyC 03-07-2008 02:51 PM
OMG, Renee, I hope hubby gets somewhere. That is the dumbest thing I have heard. I understand they want you to see in network, get that. But it's hard to see in network when they say they can't take you or you at at a point in your disease that making those rounds isn't a possibility. UGH!!! It looks like you'll have to make the usual rounds to get to see who you want to. But not giving you anything to relieve the pain until you get into someone's practice is unacceptable, period. This new PCP sounds like another winner. I am so sorry about that. I hope hubby goes to the top of chain if needed.
CayoKay 03-07-2008 05:20 PM
:hug: for NaeNae.
and more :hug:
FinLady 03-07-2008 06:02 PM
:hug: Renee, :hug: OMG. I can't believe that. Understand the in network thing, but when things have gotten bad it's time for the doc to help you work other things out. Grrr. this made me upset too. Hope your hubby pulls through for you.
I'll add another round of hugs. :hug:
barb02 03-07-2008 06:25 PM
Renee, Just when I get a litle upset with my HMO (took them an hour today to do my blood draw because they did not know what number to enter into the computer (test has never been ordered before) or what kind of vial to use for my blood), I read about the problems you are having with the military medical bureaucracy. I really can't add anything to what has been said. Just know that we do care!:grouphug:
NaeNae 03-08-2008 08:53 AM
Sick and damned tired of feeling sick and tired...think I'm gonna go out today and dye my hair purple or something...maybe easter egg pink!
ureteral spasms killin me and the chest wall spasms.....think I'm movin to a legalized herbal state!
FinLady 03-08-2008 09:27 AM
Renee, How about pink or purple streaks that will wash out in a few weeks? That could be fun. Or green for St Patty's day? :D
:hug: sorry to hear the spasms are driving you nuts. Wish I had some advice on that.
~~~~~

We're at a level 2 snow emergency. That means "don't go out unless you have to". Level 3, the next one up, means "only emergency vehicles allowed on road. you may be arrested if you're out there"

Lots and Lots of snow and wind. Gonna be inside for sure today. When the wind picks up, can't see the houses behind us. Definitely not driving weather.

At least I have my comfy robe and my coffee to help me stay warm. :)

barb02 03-08-2008 02:25 PM

Renee, I vote for pink or aqua. I am so sorry you are dealing with all of this:sorry:

Fin lady -- spring has to come sometime, doesn't it? I just talked to my mother who lives in Northeastern Ohio (East Liverpool) and she is so sick of the weather and so bored because she has not been able to get out much this winter. She lives by herself and is turning 80 in June.

I just go the results of my bloodwork for liver in the mail (had test on Thursday -- can't believe how fast they were) and everything was within normal ranges:D Now I just have to be patient (not my forte) and wait for the results of my antibodies test.:rolleyes:

Went to the new Walgreens today; opened yesterday. There were lots of people there. I just thought I would let you know how exciting life is here in central Illinois.:yikes:

Dealing with some leg spasms and back pain today. The cold seems to make my symptoms worse.

I am so sorry I haven't been posting much. The fatigue was increased with a cold. DANG! I did drink my Emergen-C drink faithfully 2 times a day and kicked it. Still suffering from the dreaded fatigue.:mad: We had family in town too. So I had to be extra careful to get my naps in.

Today is a good kick back day. Took a nice 2 1/2 hour nap.:D:p I feel more on top of things than I have all week. Of course that on top of things means, I made my bed this morning. LOL j/k.

CayoKay 03-08-2008 07:07 PM

naw, I meant, like, edgy turquoise or sumpin'

*not* old-lady gray-blue... :eek:

hey, check it out:

Larry, Curly, and Moe make their first visit to the Great Outdoors...

http://img207.imageshack.us/img207/3118/dscn4590gd3.jpg

the hatchlings also had their first meeting with their mother Gwynneth, and their father Gandalf.

Gwyn came off her nest for her supper and evening bath, and heard the babies cheeping behind the house.

she RACED over (waddled, actually) and stood, honking and staring at babies she didn't know she had!

the eggs in her nest haven't hatched yet as the three in the incubator were filched from the clutch as it was being built, putting them a few days "ahead of schedule"

then Gandalf arrived, coming to see what all the fuss was about.

both of the adult geese raised a HUGE racket, and engaged in much posturing and nibbling at the fence wire...

the goslings were frankly terrified, and made haste to HIDE...

that reminds me... a *funny* from yesterday... my husband was cleaning a dozen papayas at the kitchen sink, preparatory to juicin' 'em, and the three goslings were running around the kitchen floor while he worked (I was at the table slicing fruit for the dehydrator).

I looked over, and saw... all three babies curled up asleep on his FEET.

so, they think mi esposo is their mommy, which explains why they didn't relate to Gwyn and Gandalf!

oh, I forgot, I was gonna show y'all a goose egg, compared to one of our chicken eggs:

http://img149.imageshack.us/img149/7065/dscn4247au6.jpg

NaeNae: I hope ya feel better soon, honey! I'd hug ya, but... you *always* give me your germs, darn it!

TK: can you airmail me a nap? I missed mine today, due to company, and errands, and new guinea babies being born... so, I'm about delirious!

barb: patience is a virtue, one, unfortunately, that I do *not* possess! don'tcha HATE that waiting stuff?

Kitty: glad to see ya hangin' 'round... (scooches over on the divan to make room) so, how's things goin' with you these days?

:grouphug:

tkrik 03-08-2008 07:33 PM

Kay - They are so adorable!!!! Hubby must be thrilled the new little ones look "up" to him so much. LOL.

I remember as a kid in NY going to the pond one day and seeing a goose egg. I was maybe 5 at the time. I had no clue what this big thing was until my dad told me it was a goose egg. I have to say though, those geese at that pond were MEAN! They chase you and honk at you. One even bit one of my brothers!:eek:

Now an ostrich egg is HUGE!!!! There is an ostrich farm about 45 minutes from here. You can feed the ostriches and they have a little "gift" shop there where they sell hollowed out ostrich eggs. Additionally one of the towns used to have an Ostrich Festival every year. There was tons of ostrich related things. My niece one year made an "designer" ostrich egg for my parents. She painted on the outside of the egg and they hollow out the inside so you can display it or make it into some sort of lamp.

yeah... they can be REAL mean...

that's why I suspect my hubby deliberately IMPRINTED the lil buggers...

'cause the adult geese... well, they're good guards, nobody gets anywhere inside our gate without us knowing ALL about it (honk, honk, HONK, honk, honk HONK !!!)

and they practice equal opportunity attackment... we go out to feed our chickens, and the geese guard the chickens... from US !!

they lower their heads, and CHARGE !!!!!

now me, I've never been bitten... I'm extremely respectful, and simply back up, and take detours around them, and whatever they're guarding... and I always carry a long pole on my walkabouts...

but my husband.... he likes to take direct routes... to get feed, water, and stuff, so, he's been, er, um, well, mobbed, by all three (Glinda, Gandalf, and Gwyn) at once.

so, that's the story, he bonded with the goslings, and voila! they will NEVER go after him!

they LOVE him!

:heartthrob: :heartthrob: :heartthrob: :heartthrob: :heartthrob:

he's hand-feeding them crispy lettuce and bok choy, even as I write this, and holding them alternately on his LAP.

:cool::p:cool:

Cute wok woks Kay!

Ok I didn't go crazy with the hair altho tempted hubby supervised me so I couldn't get too crazy! LOL I went with some mahogany highlights...as some of you know I naturally have black hair so bombshell blonde would probably leave me bald!

ACK with all of the snow! Its been like 70-75 here but we have had gale force winds all day, I have so many pieces of neighbors roofs and siding flying around outside my house I am keeping my fingers crossed mine doesn't join it! A tree fell on a power line around the corner and our lights have been flickering all day!

Made some potato salad ordered some ribs from the barbeque place and watched Mr Magoriums Wonder Emporium this evening...it was pretty cute...tomorrow watching Becoming Jane!

Kay - Your DH is so smart getting in good with the goslings. Does he think it will work long term? LOL.

Renee - Mahogany sounds good. It breaks up the darkness of the black hair. My sisters all have dark, dark hair. One of my sisters puts caramel highlights in her hair and it looks really good. I don't remember what the other 3 do. The blonde, well you are right but the idea was to make you feel like a million bucks. LOL. Actually, I like dark hair much better. It has more shine and the highlights and lowlights add to the shine and beauty.

the goslings woke me at 5 am, hungry... so, I gave 'em a bunch of leaves, and they're rapturously shredding 'em!

Renee, the highlights you got sound cool for your dark hair. That's awesome. :cool:

Barb, glad the results for your liver test came out alright. :Dancing-Chilli: Sorry you have to wait so long for the other one.

TK, Sorry to hear about the fatigue. :hug: Totally can relate. Hope you had a relaxing day yesterday.

Well our area made the news for record snow fall. Need to dig ourselves out of this one, LOL. Can't wait for spring!

I puttered around a little bit yesterday as well as watched movies and played video games. Need to do more puttering and put a dent in those never-ending chores, LOL.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Popping in to say hello! The boys are home for spring break. Nik has been gone since he got home and Chris came in yesterday sick and having knee issues again. He has an appointment Monday to ask for a referral to an Ortho doc.

I don't plan to do much today since the time change screwed me up haha. Yeah, that's my story and I'm syciking to it. Jim is running a low temp of 99 and on antibiotics. Ugh. He sees the doctor on Wednesday.

Have a great Sunday everyone!

hey everyone ...

been busy with classes (finished last week with an A in stats and B+ in NPO managing) ... and already finished a week in 2 new courses ..

taxes have kept me busy ...

and .. I had a date on friday ... well, not a date-date .. he called around 7 and asked if I wanted to meet him at the local pub for a little while - I paid my way ... but, nothing since ..

either I was too much woman .. I smelled good and looked fantastic ... and was feeling like getting out (cabin-fever has set in) ... but, apparently - I must of put the poor guy in shock ... I'm 30 lbs lighter from the last time he even saw me (almost 3 years ago) ... I think he's thinking .. 'for a sick person, you look pretty da** good!' ... so, we'll see!

ta ta for now!:Dancing-Chilli:
