Vonn, we do shock them sometimes, LOL. Hope he gets over the shock soon. :cool:
Sandy, glad to hear the boys are home. Hope Jim and Chris feel better soon. |
Well I lounged around on the ebach a bit yesterday, then got a few groceries, came home cooked a fast dinner and then sprwled on the couch to watch Becoming Anne, it was good, and watch all of my fav cooking shows! I do my first Tysabri infusion tomorrow!!
|
Renee, Good luck with the infusions! Hope it helps. Barb
|
Good luck Renee - I hope it does the trick!
|
Good luck with the infusion, Renee. Hope it helps you tons.
|
good luck with the infusion, Renee .. you'll be fine!! :)
+++thanks, everyone+++ I have zippo for patience ... good thing that I have plenty to do to keep my mind occupied ... (LOL - bombshell, Kelly?? ... well, around here - yep, I guess I probably was! LOL .. and it don't take much!):D Oh - his son will be going to Ft Benning, Georgia this summer ... can someone say 'road trip' to see my new adopted son? |
Renee, good luck tomorrow. You must call me to let me know how it went. :-)
Fin, Chris is on his way to the doctor. I hope he gets a referral or at least some xrays. Vonn, kudos on the date! ROAD TRIP!!!!!!!!!! haha How is everyone else doing today? I need to scrub my kitchen floor today. We have ceramic tile but it has grooves so on my knees I go! Plus, today is the start of only four or less cigs and I need to stay busy busy busy. OMG, help me! |
Renee - Good luck with the infusion. I hope all goes well for you.
Vonn - You go, girl! How fun. I am glad you had a good time. Sandy - You can do it. We're all here to cheer you on. A bit of advice - don't drink any alcohol - it will only make the craving worse. You can also hop on a plane and come do my floors when you are done. Oh, I have laundry too. That should keep you busy.:D:p ~~~~ Well, since Sandy won't come do my laundry and my floors, guess I'll be doing them myself today. LOL. One week of fatigue has set me back a bit. Dang it!:mad: Hope you all have a good day! |
Hey guys well if it isn't raining.....it's pouring. I now have a huge leak in my garage it is under my air conditioner??? Not sure why as we sure haven't used it, the plumbers we called didn't even untape the insulation and taped areas to see where the leak was originating from...said maybe we should have our refrigerator looked at (even though there is NO water in the house!) Also said the wood under the house looked wet in that area but that all of the pipes were dry, and left! Now going to have to move around the garage when hubby gets home so things don't get wet!
On the MS front...Tricare has put in a referral for me to seean MS specialist and if there are no in network specialists they weill refer me out of network. YAY! |
Whoohoo Renee! I guess the persistence paid off. I am so happy for you girl!
Chris came home from the doctor's office and needs a MRI. If the damage is as bad as the doctor thinks, then he will be having surgery. |
Renee, glad tricare is going to work with ya to get what you need. So cool.
Sandy, sorry to hear Chris' knee is in such bad shape. TK, sorry to hear about the fatigue. ~~~~~ I think with all the snow, we'd probably should have our roof looked at this year. It's a just in case sort of thing. Been hearing weird creaks up that a way. Got a test coming up on of all days April 1st. Hope my bod doesn't play any tricks on me, LOL :D Work went pretty well today. Hope that's a good sign for the near future. :) Hope everyone has a great night. |
Well thank God they are doing an MRI on Chris finally, hopefully it can be an arthroscopic surgery but you make sure that boy does his PT!!!! I'll call ya tomorrow!

sprained my ankle, wah!
trying to hurry my chores, stepped in a little hold, ouchie ouch. going to bed and read, so tired. love you guys. night. |
Kay, Sorry to hear about the ankle! I've sprained mine a few times, and it's never fun. Rest up and take care of yourself. :hug:
~~~~ My usual morning coffee is trying to wake me up, LOL. Wanted to stay in bed, but have too much to do before work. Got some bills (yuck!) to pay. We have plans to meet up with some friends for dinner tonight. Haven't seen them in awhile so this is pretty cool. Have a great day everyone. |
sorry about your ankle, Kay ...
Sandy, hope the MRI is covered for Chris .. ..and WAHOO about the ciggy thing!! you can do it ... was re-reading your book the other night ... needed it. hope you get answers, Renee! Jenn - sending my bills to you too!! LOL YUK is right! **UPDATE** I shouldn't of enjoyed myself on friday .. haven't heard anything. and then I have to realize that he may not want to be with someone with an illness ... so, I don't know anymore ... cried a little bit last night, I'm a nice person - and my life has just been a tough road ... it would be nice to have someone that would just hold me ... not a hug, does that make sense?? haven't had that since the dx (one year on my birthday, april 3)...or before, or ever come to think of it. well, lots to do today ... weird thing happened at 130am last night - I JUST fell asleep .. and I heard this pounding on my door ... I got up, it was the county sheriff looking for this guy who lives about 3-4 trailers down ... stupid trailer park numbering system .. EVERYONE (for 16 trailers) has the same address, but different LOT number ... and this 'kevin' has the same number as me but number 10 .. but he didnt tell that to the police when he called them ... the poor officer kept apologizing ... but he stopped because I have lights on (I was watching a movie) ... |
*holds Vonn close*
:hug: |
Sorry about the ankle Kay!
Sandy what don't wanna be the "housemom"? LOL Vonn--((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))) Had my Tysabri this morning, they ran it over 2 hours then observed me for one hour after I finished to make sure no problems...they do this every time. I premedicated with ibuprofen and benadryl. No problems...I'm quite tired now...feel like a nap...but other than that I'm good! I got my lab reports back today as well....blood counts good,cholesterol and triglycerides, great! And liver panel was normal as well. Thank God for small favors eh? On another note to all of you who know I occasionally have kooky things happen in my house...oh BTW leak is fixed.....I was sitting on the couch just now having a bite to eat before I try to rest and all of a sudden this hanging basket with a fern in it that I have attached to my wall just came flying off into the floor! I was like ok I am too tired for THAT! Dayton says huh that was weird and hung it back up. |
Chris had his MRI changed to Thursday at 1pm. Apparently whoever talked to him forgot that MRI's are only done on Wednesday and Thursday.
Renee, maybe your ghost is mad that you left today. Glad to hear your infusion went well. I pray you have no problems and that this works for you. Vonni, hugs sweetie. Hang in there. Have you tried to call your date since Friday? Maybe he's thinking the way you are? Kay, hope your ankle feels better soon! Whoops, my update: I am doing some laundry and just got off the phone with my cc company. I just paid the jerks $1000 on the 3rd and they are saying I still owe them the minimum payment since I paid too early. WHAT???!!! Ok, so if you don't pay, you get a fine. If you pay too early, you get fined. What do these people want from us? I have never been late and they claimed I was last month after paying twice in the month (they can't explain that) and now they didn't apply my payment on the 3rd to my bill? I told them I am paying the card off and canceling them and also ripping my checking and savings accounts out of the bank asap. I told the guy (third person by the way) to put that in my notes. I immediately called and signed up for a different cc and a new bank as of tomorrow. Momma don't play. They get paid to talk to me, not me to them. |
K-
Ice, elvevation, and rest. Take care of that ankle or you end up like me!! Went to the doc today for my ankles which are collapsing on me with no warning. Two face plants last Friday! 10 years of repeated strains and sprains may have caused some damage. She scolded me for not getting my sprains treated - she said she now recommends an air cast. Good news is that I get an MRI of it and a couple of consults with PT. All I want is my range of motion and stability back so I can run again. Feeling much more relaxed about our upcoming overseas move. I think I found the perfect place for our monsters to stay when we get there until we get into housing. They'll be happy and ok, and I won't feel guilty. Big sigh of relief. Also found out that it looks like I may have plenty of work while I'm there. My company has a big job and it looks like I could be the founding member of their Italy office...I'm happy, but at the same time - there goes my 3 year vacation.:o Got all my other doc visits scheduled and I'll be heading to the OB soon to see about having a child. Huge step for me. Terrifying, but at the same time, it's nice to take a step forward instead of sitting around worrying about it... That's about it for today. I've done no work - just surfed the net all day. |
thanks, everyone ..
I'll be fine ... shouldn't get my hopes up ... I should know better ... and yes, Sandy ... I gave him a quick jingle on sunday around 2 about running back over to the place we were at on Friday to pick up their tax stuff - around 5 ... and maybe grab a pizza ... but nothing ... and I know that the cell is 'attached' to his hip ... oh well ... going outside ... and try not to think about it .. next few days will be crazy-busy ... but, I'll stop in ...thanks!! |
Wow everyone! I don't know where to start. Let's see . . .
Kay - YIKES! Slow down, girl! I hope your ankle heals quickly. Fin - Hope you have a great time at dinner tonight. It is always fun to do stuff like that. Renee - I am glad the Ty went well for you today. I really hope this works for you. Vonn - I'm so sorry. Don't give up all hope. Remember he has friends who have friends who have friends. It may be that he is busy. I am glad to hear that you at least gave him a call. The ball is in his court now. Don't sit around waiting though. Go out and live your life. Let us know how it goes. I have a brother. . . LOL. Sandy - Doesn't that carp just tick you off! My wallet got stolen from work and I never replaced the cc's. I just canceled them. Now I pay cash for everything. Surprisingly, many companies like that you pay cash and give you larger discounts. I got my $1,200 leather couches for 1/2 off for paying cash! Of course, I told them that there is no way I can afford $1,200 couches and went to leave the store. Mind you these were used couches but in great condition. They also gave me 2 free lamps. They're ugly but free. I ended up selling them at a garage sale we had to raise money for the American Brain Tumor Association and made a donation in memory of my brother. Greta - OMG you have a lot going on. I am so glad to hear that you decided to have a little one. I hope that goes well for you. Despite losing the vacation, your "new" job sounds like it will be a great career move for you and challenging as well. Good luck. My update: It's almost the same as yesterday. LOL. Ok, I did work a little today as I had a few reports to type. The DD 17 helped me move some of the furniture and now I whipped. Getting ready for my nap. |
Wow, there is so much going on here so I am just going to reply to a few posts:
Renne - I missed your post about tysabri and just read it. I am happy it went well. They are going to slow down my infusion the next time. I think it is interesting they did yours slower from the start. Vonn, I can't remember that last time I went on a date. It's probably been about 15 years so I really impressed you are still trying. I gave up:p Kay, Sorry to hear about your ankle. I hope you are taking it easy and giving it time to heal. TKrik -- Noce to see you back. Sandy -- Stay away from those frat houses. In my experience they are a little smelly:D Hope your son is ok. My update: Went shopping yesterday and had lunch at Red Lobster. I love those cheesy biscuits. Had to go to pcp today for a "pee" test. I constantly have to go and it is driving me crazy. Need to make sure I do not have a UTI. They sent the sample to the lab as there was a trace of blood. So now I am drinking cranberry juice and waiting for results which will not be back until Thursday. |
Hi all :) Happy but tired from our visit with our friends. A little more cog-foggy than I thought when I logged on, so I think I'm gonna call it an early night.
Take care everyone. :grouphug: |
Quote:
I'm glad you told them to kiss your behind, LOL!!!! Carolyn:D:hug: |
The fog has lifted, lol. :D
Vonn, That's a most disturbing thing to find a police officer knocking on your door than having to tell him he has the wrong place. Would've freaked me out. :eek: Sorry to hear that you haven't heard from your friend. :hug: Sandy, grr. hearing about CC companies always make me mad. :mad: If it wasn't the need to have at least one revolving account for a decent credit score, I swear I'd chop mine up. Barb, Hope you don't have a UTI. :hug: Keep drinking your cranberry juice and take care of yourself. Renee, Glad to hear your infusion went ok and that your labs are good. :Dancing-Chilli: Greta, Wow, how exciting for you! Going overseas, maybe thinking of starting a family - it's great! :trampoline: TK, Glad to hear you got some work done and some furniture moved around. :) ~~~~~ LOL, my hubby is getting impatient for warm dry weather. He's itching to get back on his motorcycle. With all the melting snow, I think it's going to be a little while for dry roads. It's nice to know I'm not the only one getting impatient for spring, LOL. Of course it's fun having cabin fever together. Our walls show signs of both of us bouncing off of them. :D |
Barb - I hope you don't have a UTI. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for you.
Fin - Glad you had a good time with your friends. I will try to send some dry air your way as it is so, so dry here. There are times when I can feel the moisture being sucked out of me. We go through lotion and lip balm like crazy. And, tell DH that spring is in the air here and the Harley's are out all over the place especially on the weekend. Well, I did a bad thing. Last week was crazy - fatigue, that time, 3 days of fighting a cold, and my busiest time for work. So, I didn't do my nasal lavages and guess what - sinus infection I am sure. Waiting for Dr. office to open up to schedule an appointment to get the antibiotics before it starts wreaking havoc on the MS. I'm so mad at myself this morning for not doing the lavages. :mad: I did do the extra vitamins (EmergenC) twice a day and since I felt better within 3 days I thought I kicked it. Hope you all are having a good day! |
okay - here's a good one: (please laugh along)
why didn't yous tell me that guys don't come with instructions! :Doh: LOL I was IMing with a new friend last night - and I had one of those "ah-ha" moments! it finally dawned on me (okay - it took 4-5 days) .. he just met the queen! LOL and is not sure what to do?? seeing a sick person OUT IN PUBLIC and ENJOYING HERSELF (me!) .. had to be a real shocker! yes .. I DO have limitations .. and YES, I was in pain the whole time - but I didn't flinch .. I wanted (and made it) to be a good time! why was I beating myself up about this?? he doesn't realize that he was in the presence of royalty!! :Bow: (okay okay - I'm poorer than a church mouse, but I looked and felt like a million bucks!) it's only wednesday - and guys have no timetable ... and remember - it took him almost 6 months to finally call me .. and when he did - it was on his birthday in the middle of tax season! just because I'm 'sick' doesn't mean that I'm just lying around in my deathbed! thought you'd enjoy my 'V-8' moment!! |
Vonn,
Didn't he call you on Friday last time to ask you to meet him that very evening?? Men have no concept of time. . . . we expect them to call us at least three maybe four days ahead of time to ask us out. We'd like to think that they feel like "I want to ask her out before someone else does" but that thought never enters their little pea-sized brains. True to form they will call the night of to see if we'd like to go out. :mad: And then we feel like kickin' ourselves for accepting 'cause that just told them that we had nothing else going on. :rolleyes: I hope he calls you - I really do - and you know him best but make him squirm a little before you accept his request to go out again!! :D |
ankle still tender...
got it elevated, and wearing an ace bandage. resting between bouts of company... it's SO nice to hang out and yatter, and especially good because my visitor owns goats, and pointed out that mine have picked up mites (ouch, I'm soooo blind, I didn't notice, and neither did hubby.) also interesting, because her cousin has MS, and we were able to trade "notes" on the subject, and I got to hear an "outsider's" perspective. also good, because since we get to see fellow Yanks quite rarely, it makes the visits a treat, and I find I listen closely, and enjoy myself muchly. as long as it's just a FEW folks at once... Kay still hates crowds, lol! San: I chopped up ALL my cards but one... still hangin' onto that AmEx GOLD card, lol... might NEED it for emergency travel, right? good-onya for taking ACTION, and not laying back and lettin' 'em rake you over the coals with their BS fees for everything. at one point in 2003, I was sending my payments via CERTIFIED MAIL, so somebody had to SIGN for them. 'cause I was gettin' LATE FEES, when I KNEW the payments were on TIME, by the date the CHECK cleared my bank! so, copying bank statements, with the particular check highlighted, (and sending that in certified too!) I was able to have the BS fees removed, but... it's a PITA to untangle this stuff, especially when ya gots other things on your plate. did y'all know that BANKS and CC companies are hauling in a BONANZA and making RECORD MEGA-$$s from their FEES and stuff, maybe even than from actual loans and interest? A bonanza reaped in secret Discovering all the ways you can get dinged is often a process of trial and error. Banks don't typically publish their complete fee schedules on the Internet, and the first time many people learn about a fee is when it shows up on their account. All these fees, hidden or not, have helped many banks turn in record profits in recent years. Credit card fees alone jumped 18% last year, to $24 billion. Overall, bank fees are on track to top $55 billion this year, said Robert Hammer of investment banking firm R.K. Hammer. http://articles.moneycentral.msn.com...sThanEver.aspx |
Vonn - No men do not come with instructions nor do we as women. LOL. So, because I am not a man and don't think like one I can't answer why he is not calling you back.
He may be thinking that you are way out of his league. Let's face it, despite your illness and disabilities, you do SO, SO much. There is the perception out there that disabled and ill people are not able to do anything. It is quite the contrary for many of us. We have limitations but are still able to do things. That kind of freaks people out; at least in my experiences. Hang in there Queen Vonn. You'll get that hug from someone when the time is right.:hug: |
My ramblings
Just some ramblings..
Haven't 'dated' for more than 42 years and then it would have been my DH so I'm out of 'date' to say the least!:winky: My DS dates and wow, judging by what a 'date' entails now days...I'm so glad I don't have to go through that. Seems like a 'date' is more like a commitment than fun and easy going. ```````````````` We once got into credit card debt and I can tell you it is a bad place to be. By using some of our home profit (after selling the house) we paid that debt and never get behind anymore. We do use cc's though and just pay them in total every month. IF you cannot pay them off don't spend the money (unless of course, it's a dire emergency). We only use one card and it is one with perks. May as well get perks for what you spend. In our case it's air miles and DH uses the flight to go skiing evey year. Credit card companies make it pretty clear what you are getting into. Nothing is for nothing. They are worth having because it is important to establish good credit and also to use when traveling. IF you want reservations you have to give a cc number or make them well in advance and send a check. I've done it both ways, but if I am traveling and no particular destination I can't send a check while on the road:D. The card companies are a business, read the rules carefully. A payment out of sequence (minus the bill in particular) is probably considered like paying extra on your mortgage. It will be applied, but you still get a request for a monthly payment. Don't think of the CC company as anything but a business; not a personal affront to you. ~~~~~~~~~ Just my thoughts, not meant offensively. |
I have an inkling that he may do the same thing THIS friday ... but, heck - I have papers due and returns to print etc ... he waited almost 8 months to call ... and has heard since last May that 'I've been sick' ... I got my head outta my butt all by myself and feel so much better in the direction I'm going ... this has to be either a 'help' or if it's a hindrance .. I have things to do! (don't want to sound like a jerk ... just that I'm tired of being used) ... right?? :Thanx: |
LOL, I agree men do not come with instruction booklets. :D I will say that my DH seems to be in his own time zone. I always X2 any estimated time he gives me. 15min = 30min, as an example.
Hope everyone has had a good day. Work was busy and I have to wake up early for training class tomorrow - so it's probably a good thing I'm exhausted. Maybe I'll get some better sleep tonight. Tossed and turned, but managed to get through most of the day ok. |
Diane, thanks for the advice and background on your experience. I have never been in cc debt nor do I personally abuse my cc. I also know how the cc companies work since I have been an adult for some time...haha I do take it personally when I have been a loyal and faithful payer to my cc and never late. I do take it personally when I call to ask a question and I am treated like an idiot. I do take it personally when they are getting paid to answer my questions and not the other way around.
Simply put, I have money to pay my cc's. I can choose who I want to conduct business with. I have been with my cc company for four years and have never been charged a late fee, ever. Someone at the company did not take the $1000 I sent and apply it to that months bill. I specifically sent the payment in for that due date so I am not buying into the excuses. I can take my money elsewhere and have that right. It's not personal, it is my business to make it business on my part. :wink: Kay, girl you hit the hammer on the nail! The big companies are reaping the rewards and I think the recession headed our way will make things even worse. Carolyn, LOL I did kick butt and put my app in for another card asap. As soon as I hear from the new company I am calling the "old" cc and telling them to take my payoff and shove it where the sun don't shine! :D Vonn, I have been out of the dating scene so long I don't have advice. I guess follow your instincts as they are usually right on. TK, awww, I hope you get the doctor soon. What the heck are lavages? Finn, yeah I keep one cc and that's it. As soon as I am approved for the new one I am canceling the old one. Phoohey on them! lol Greta, whoohoo! overseas is fun. Lonely at times but fun at the same time. I lived in Krumbach Germany for about a year and met so many wonderful people. The perks of military life eh? Kudos on starting a new family too! :) Renee, did you call the Tysabri people? I hope they have some answers. For anyone not in the know. Renee called me and was in a lot of pain in her liver and upper kidney areas. She is not sure if it's from the infusion or something else and couldn't get in to see a doctor today. I am waiting for her to call me back. If I don't hear something soon I'll call her and update. My update: I renewed my military ID today, dropped off Jim's specimen at Hines, cashed a check at the bank, had my ring cleaned/looked at and took the dog to the vet. I lead such an exciting life huh? LOL |
I hope you are feeling better Renee.:(
Renee couldn't get the infusion people on the phone and left a message. She has an appointment in the morning to see her pcp. Hugs Renee!
Renee - Saying a prayer for you. I hope all goes well tomorrow at the dr.'s. Sending you lots of cyber:hug:'s.
Had the same card for 7 yrs, never late on a pyment. suddenly got hit with 3 late payments and fees, plus a way higher rate. Kept calling and being talked to like dirt. Got my cancelled checks back from the bank - they don't give them back now, just photo copies - and sent them to the CC company. I had PROOF I had sent them in plenty of time and they had been cashed and returned to my bank before my due date. I was fuming. I cancelled that CC account. Had another card for a year. For NO reason - not late on any payment with anyone! - they raised my rate almost triple. That was not in their fine print anywhere. My last car payment... never late on any of them. The finance company paid it towards the wrong account. Called me to say they were going to repo my car! I got that check from the bank too. So it's not US, it's THEM. CCs do nothing for your credit, BTW, they are nothing but a liability. You want a better credit score? Buy something *90 days same as cash* and pay it off. |
