Today I have to take the Olhipie to a movie, which is a pleasure...can't decide which one yet...no making out...I promise! I did most of my mountain of dishes yesterday. I do and I'm not kidding a mountain of linens to fold....two huge baskets stacked on of each other with more added on top!! eeeeeeeeeeeeeeekkkkk |
Hi all :) Just a checking in. been napping and playing online games all day today. Just call me the couch slug. :D
Enjoyed the visit from family, but am definitely paying for it today - LOL. |
Vonny: congrats on the As, girlfriend !!
NaeNae: I added (FINALLY) to Olivia's Wok-Wok thread, as we hatched a batch of baby ducklings this morning! Frank: that blows about the diet, but you've got some EXCELLENT motivation there, dude! Tami: enjoy the movie. Weave: welcome to our little corner of the worldwidewebbery! San: sorry 'bout the cat-pee... ugh, I HATE when they do that... Barb: have a nice nappy-time. Trish, didja NOTICE, I named a duck after you honey? lol, who's next? :grouphug::hug::grouphug: |
Love my new bed. Slept much better and actually took a nap in it this afternoon. My other bed was only a year old and cost 450.00 more than my new one which is a traditional box spring and deep mattress. I feel a bit like the princess and the pea in it. The furniture store sells used furniture and the salesman said he thought he could get about 700.00 for it. It cost 1200.00. We'll see. I cannot imagine buying a used bed. It was similar to a temperpedic (spelling), but not quite as expensive. It was so hot, and uncomfortable! Ok -- enough about my bed.:D
Frank -- Diets do suck, but you have to do it. I have been on med for high cholestoral for a few years and it seems to be working. But I also need to start watching what I eat. I have slacked in doing so for the past year. I just joined Weight Watchers last week so we can diet together. Added a few more pictures of my niece. |
I just had one of the biggest scares of my life.... I got a phone call & 1st, since she asked if John was home I thought she was playing arround & I asked silly questions. Then she asked if I was John Jrs wife (she knew there was a Sr.) so I listened. She told me she saw my FIL in the garage & he looked terrible, etc. I didn't know what to do since I don't drive, John's gone & my kids are at work. I told her call 911. She did already. After I talked to a few ppl I tried his number & he answered. Said he thinks he walked to much today (He is 80, recently had a heart attack & has a bad back, but he thinks he can do what a 40 yr old in good shape might do). He's OK he said, but still, I want to go to his house when my DD gets home. I called his DD in Virginia (we R in Ohio) cuz she called his cell phone when I was talking to him. She is a nurse & she said he sounds OK but wants me to go check on him then call her (I am planning to anyway). I hope everything is OK all night and __...
Please say a prayer for him http://bestsmileys.com/religous/6.gif |
Whoa Lor! I bet that was scary. I hope he's Ok and glad your going over to check up on him. Who was this woman? A neighbor? Good thing they watch out for each other, that's great!
|
howdy all semi productive day got some outside stuff done, still working this colesterol thing through my mind.
I hope everyone is well and by now close to being tucked in your beds if i may indulged you all i dropped a thread in the books movies and music forum, if anyone knows the answer to my query, i would appreciate helping me out am going nuts lol:yikes: have a peaceful pleasant evening peace |
Lor, I can relate...
Quote:
Anyway, I will keep him in my prayers. I know how much of a worry that is. My Dad insisted on living alone in his house until he was 92yo when we lost him. We were constantly worried about him, especially since he'd do things like clear the snow off his roof when he was 90.   |

you just love to slip those little giggle-bits in sideways, don't'cha? 'tweren't the mailman anyway, I heard it was the cable guy. :winky: |
very good Kay was wondering if anyone caught that one, and i'll give you cable guy lol
|
Arghhhh!!!! That dern urologist never called. Jim is telling him tomorrow if he doesn't have time to at least call to say he doesn't have an answer yet...pass him to the next doctor. Period. Jim is really standing up for himself and I kind of like it. It's usually me. I think he may get lucky soon. lol
|
ride 'im Cowgirl San !!
:winky: |
lol no comment have a ball
thanks sandy for helping me out never thought i would be able to find what you found, thanks |
Frank, whenever I am stuck like that I just type in the question in comcast or google search. In this case I typed: "who died in the end of west side story?" and it came up.
|
Lor - Saying prayers for you and your family. Check in and let us know how your FIL is doing. I am glad that who ever that person was (neighbor, friend) called you to let you know.
Barb - Are you awake yet? Nah, you're probably still snoozing away in your new comfy bed. LOL. I check out the pics of your adorable niece. Thanks for posting them. Kay - You are so sweet. I told DDs that I had a duck named after me in Belize. I was so tickled and they look at me like I was so nuts. LOL. I even showed them the pictures. Sandy - UGH!!! I hope the urologist calls today. That is so frustrating. Keep calling until you get an answer. I am glad Jim is standing up for himself. When you feel crappy all the time it is hard to do that. Good Job Jim! Fin - I'm glad you had a good time with your family. Weave - YAHOO!!! Schooling is over for the summer. Yeah!!! Hi everyone else. I hope you all have a good day and are doing well. It rained here!!!! I was so excited last night. That is a good indication that our monsoons will be starting soon. The nice thing about the monsoons is the quick break in the heat as the temps can drop right before, during, and a little bit after. Additionally, with the rain it helps with all the dust and allergens floating in the air which will help DD16 and myself. DD16 is slowly improving. She is still somewhat dizzy but is moving around better. Yesterday she didn't drink all that much and I was getting worried about her. With the medicine she is on, it can dehydrate you fairly quickly. I explained it to her and she finally started drinking more as she doesn't want to get dehydrated and have to get another IV. Today I am really going to push the liquids on her. |
Well the doctor never called last night. Jim is waiting for the nurse to call back. He's going to tell her to tell Dr Sobel to pass his case to one of the other urologist who can take care of him or have our medical records ready for pick up tomorrow. Period. We are so done. He may be good at what he does, but if he can't remember to call his patients when he says he will he's not the kind of doctor we need. It's been two weeks. We can go back to the VA and get this type of treatment.
Trish, hope your daughter feels better soon! |
Quote:
probably because she has all those ducklings underfoot, and is being protective and a good momma. that's why she's named after YOU, honey !! too bad Trish's gorgeous white plumage is a recessive trait, did you see only ONE of the 9 babies takes after her? when they're all fuzzy YELLOW at birth, that means they'll turn out white when they grow up... also, did you notice Trish has her feather CREST raised on top of her head? that's the duck's "alarm" mode, when they're worried or nervous, meaning I was getting too close for her comfort. this afternoon, I'll go into the nursery with a book, and set quiet for an hour, lurking with my camera, until she relaxes and gets accustomed to my non-threatening presence... THEN maybe I'll get a good photo of her?:grouphug::hug: |

wasn't he the one you guys bonded so well with? darn, that makes me sad... nowadays I always try to give 'em the benefit of the doubt. last time I reamed out my doc for forgetting something he promised to do, it turned out that his mother had died, and I felt so bad for giving him a lecture. it's hard to remember sometimes that doctors are people too, and not some super beings, lol ! anyway, I hope it all turns out well, whichever way it goes, and Sobel better have a DARNED good reason for his forgetfulness. |
Quote:
Well dang it all, Sandy! I am sorry the doctor turned out to be this way. I know you both must be so disappointed as this dr made things look so promising and hopeful. Sending you big cyber:hug:'s. Now get on the horn and raise some heck! |
Well, it's been two weeks and he hasn't so much as picked up a phone to call us. He's Ok, he's been in and out of the office per his nurses. Not to mention all the speaches he has to do at various conferences. Remember, he's also a medical lawyer. lol According to the nurse yesterday, he claims he hasn't been able to get in touch with infectious disease. Ummm, two weeks? I have the number to the infectious disease docs so I don't understand it all. I know they are human, we all are. Jim and I are probably more patient than we should be. Five years trying to find an answer is pretty long. lol
In my honest opinion, a simple call to say he's trying would have been best. But to tell us to call him and no reply the first week. Then to have called him three times since then is not in keeping with his word. The way I look at it is this. He asked us to call him and he hasn't had the professionalism to call us back yet. We can take our insurance elsewhere and find a doctor who is aggressive in finding out what Jim's problem is. I will not watch Jim go through what he did years ago again. This is how that happened back then. The doctor was too busy to pay attention to what was really going on and missed it. Can you tell I am ******? Now, Jim's primary has also tried to contact him and he is getting no reply as well. The urologist missed the second micro report that said the med he prescribed for Jim was resistant to the bacteria he has. It amazes me that the primary found this but the urologist didn't or didn't bother to read the second report? Ok, getting off my soap box. Maybe he'll call and apologize. lol Your right, he better have a good excuse but I doubt it. |
Sandy - Don't get off your soapbox! You're on a roll, call the doc now while you are on the soapbox. Also, call and make an appt with the infectious disease doc yourself since you have the number. The heck with waiting. Then call the urologists office and tell them you want a new doctor that has more time in the group and that you scheduled an appt with the infectious disease doc so they need to get the information to that office by the time of Jim's appoint, better yet prior to the appointment.

Well while I was stubbornly trying to save my marriage you guys were right yet again,my husband has been saying how he wanted to get back together, even had me pick out a house to buy etc. and I got a dear John email this morning, apparently he still doesn't know what he wants...he wants to be part of our lives etc...I sent him and his commander an email telling him to stick to the court order...no more no less...because I am officially done with his sorry ***...my self esteem has not hit an all time low and I ain't doin it again!
|
NaeNae, been there, done that, have proprietary rights to several T-shirt designs reflecting that sentiment as well.
hugs, hang in there, we love you, and are behind you no matter WHAT you choose !! :grouphug::hug::grouphug: |
Renee, thanks for updating us. I just talked with you yesterday too. Wow. No surprise though. Dump him and be done.
|
Sandy, I think we should all hire you as our medical advocate. I hope that you can find the right doctor. It sounds like this one may be too busy making a name for himself, and not attending to his practice.
Renee, All I can think to say to you is to hang in there and do not allow yourself to be manipulated. Tricia, Can I hire you to read and grade my papers during the Fall semester? My update: Went to Weight Watchers today and lost 2.6 pounds this first week. I would have done better, but ate too much of the wrong thing (pad thai) yesterday. I still love my new bed. Did you all see that that a barrel of oil hit an all time high today (140.00) and they predict it could rise another 30.00 by the end of the summer? Plus, the stock market had its second worse day of the year. That coupled with the fact that the state of Illinois has been rated the worst state in the country for its pension fund for public employess (is years behind in paying its share) means I will never be able to retire. |
Congrats on the weight loss Barb! Hey, did you hear that we have the highest gas rates in the whole US? What's up with that? Not to mention my mortgage company is being sued by Illinois too. Sheesh.
|
Quote:
 I don't THINK so !! my honey scrabbles together the very best Pad Thai, considering what he's got to work with here in the jungle... we grow our own garlic, ginger, tamarind, onions, and stuff... and we get fresh-made tofu at the market each week. :D |
NaeNae?
may I offer a somewhat obnoxious, but certainly well-meant suggestion? maybe you can change your user-name here at NeuroTalk, as a first step? it'll be a start on your new journey of defining yourself, not as someone's "wife" but as YOURSELF, a brave, strong, thoughtful, loving, and kind woman, and a good mother. maybe the bosses of this board will let you keep all your toys, if they can do that, things like your PMs, and friend-lists, and post-count... and just do a name-switch ?? I work at another board, but it's by "phpBB" - it's pretty simple for me to do name-changes there, for my users... this board is vBulletin, so I don't know how easy it is, or if it's even possible, or if Admins have the time, but... it wouldn't hurt to ask... |
Well, the nurse called back at 1pm and said the doctor said he was sorry and would be calling us today. Nothing yet. But, she did say he had passed Jim's records around to several urologist and there is one particular infectious disease doctor he wants Jim to see but he isn't calling him back. I laughed and said "So he does know how we feel!" lol
Anyway, as suspected he hasn't called back. We requested for him to pass Jim's case to another doctor in the office earlier. If he doesn't want to lose us as a patient then why isn't he calling dagnabbit!? I'll give him some more time since this is usual evening rounds time. |
hey all ... congrats on the weightloss Barb!!
sorry about the no-call-back-doc-zone, Sandy!! Renee - I agree with Kay about the name change - new start .. like me!! UPDATE:: getting down to the big, oxy-stuff ... and am wiped from driving and packing ... and I talked with the manager today ... she said that the lady who's room I was going to get ... is making a comeback! BUT, another guy is getting out July 1st ... so it will only take them about 3 days to give the room(s) a good overhaul ... and I may be able to move in by next weekend .. right now - everything is in storage ... so, I'm homeless ... after tonight - I won't be online or available to go online for awhile ... BUT, I bought my first cell phone today - tracfone ... and get this ... the last 4 digits -4653 ... which spells GOLD :Rich:.. LOL:Dancing-Chilli: will check in periodically ... not sure where I'll be or when I'll be back ... just don't forget about me!! |
Sandy,
I hope you get some news soon. I think it's a good sign the doctor passed Jim's records, at least he is trying to find the best doctor for Jim's sake. Waiting for call backs from doctor's is the pits!!:) Quote:

hello barb congrats sandy sorry your doc is being a PITA, tk hope dd takes better care of herself, in the desert sorry meant that in a good way hope she is ok seriously kind of scary what dehydration can do to you, one time when on my own i was really sick stomach virus and was on my own for 5 days sick as heck almost died, i had no idea what dehydration was, found out quick, just sat here thinking about that, my friend dave broke into my apt and saved my lifeand my other friend lisa told him to do so, trip down wayback lane, tell those kids downs there to be careful TK:hug: |
Renee - Nae Nae is perfect. What a great way to start out your new and improved self. Keep strong and do what you feel is the best for you. It is tough but you can and will get through this.
Barb - You're funny. Doing the "blue" comments was the only way I could come up with to help him out. I had too many questions, comments, and suggestions. Congrats on losing the weight and in 1 week to boot. That's great! Sandy - You crack me up. I never would have thought to make the comment on the dr knowing how you feel when a dr doesn't call back. It still is irritating as heck that they haven't called back. Did you call the infectious disease doctor and make an appointment any way? Vonn - Thanks for checking in and of course we won't forget you. How could we? I hope all goes smoothly with the rest of your move. Saying prayers for you. Becky - Hi there. I hope all goes well tomorrow. I will keep you in my prayers and be thinking of you. Frank - LOL. I read "desert" as dessert and thought you were joking around about DD16's Valium induced statement. (Stressed spelled backwards is desserts). She's doing much better this evening and hopefully will start coming around by tomorrow. She drank a lot more today and I am so, so relieved. Have a great night everyone. |
Frank if you don't quit apologizing for telling me how you feel I'm gonna have to come to Illinois swing by grab Jim and Sandy and come kick your butt!
Which I might add Jim very vocally threatened to come to Arkansas and kick mine along with Sandy if I even thought about taking him back this time. The answer is nope...I tried, I did all I could, and now I'm done, time to move on just wish there were more job prospects here and I had a few of you closer! |
You go girl. You are a strong woman and are doing whats best for your
family. knowing that is half the battle:) You are gonna do great. I do wish some of us were closer to you to help. Sending:hug::hug::hug: and prayers for your family.:) |
oh.......and I like Nae Nae too.:)
|
Hey all! Thanks for the good wishes on the doctor. He called at 9:20pm, lol I had this vision of him sitting and relaxing, watching tv and then all of a sudden "Crap! I forgot to call the C$@#$%%'s!" lmao
Anyway, he said we do not need to "see" the infectious disease doctor. He is going to consult with them over the phone or in person to get their take on what to do. He gave us his entire schedule and apologized several times for not calling us back. He said he was waiting for infectious disease to call him and it's been a week. He has a specific doctor he wants to consult with. He's going to try to call her again today and get back to us. We told him that if he couldn't call, to please have his nurse at least call. That is the most frustrating, not knowing what is going on. Jim told him he doesn't mean to be so demanding but he went through this with the VA and needs an aggressive doctor. The doctor told him he wasn't demanding at all and once again, apologized. So looks like we'll stay with him and see how things go. He said he has consulted with all of the urologist in his office as well as others outside his office. They all agree that Jim's case needs aggression and attack. One of the ideas he mentioned were flushing the bladder with an antibiotic. This is where the infectious disease doctor comes in. He said based on Jim's records everything is working well so surgery is not in the picture. That's it, stay tuned for the next episode of "As Jim's Bladder Turns" Now, on to Renee. Jim did get all over her last night. It was kind of hard since her phone kept going out on us mid sentence. lol We did threaten to come down there if needed if she even thought about taking that so called military man back. I honestly think he has multiple personalities. The night before he sent the Dear John letter he was planning buying a house with her. It's all too Sybil to me. He needs more than spiritual advice, he needs a mental eval. Everyone have a great day and stay cool and dry! It's raining here today and will be raining for a few days. I have some laundry to finish up and some checkbook stuff to do. |
LOL Maybe thats the secret make it so Jim's bladder turns! The constant movement won't let anything sit around and grow!
I already told Sandy...I have a job interview Monday...working with developmentally disabled 1-5 year olds mostly just fixing booboos and doing paperwork for the state. |
