Hi all. :Wave-Hello:

Sorry I didn't check in yesterday. Been a rough couple of days, and I'm not a person who generally likes to complain. Makes me feel like I'm :deadhorse: when I do, LOL.

The past two days have reminded me why I'm not working. Definitely would've called off today if I still was. Feel like crying for no reason, zapped of energy but want to do things, can't think straight, etc., etc. Just a generally "blah" type of mood.

This too shall pass, but it's not going by fast enough, LOL. (can I have that made into a t-shirt?) :D

NaeNae 07-14-2008 02:25 PM

Well lets throw you a pity party...I'll bring the hats and the party favors, Sandy can bring the booze, and Frank can bail us all out of jail!

Seriously I have days...weeks like that I think we all do, just know that we are here for you until you get out of your funk and even after that!

FranksAngel 07-14-2008 03:44 PM

fin ... we all have days like the ones your having .... even us caregivers ... been told that days when you just wanna crawl in a hole and hide but dont are the charator building days .... i guess we all have excellent charator by now

sabimax 07-14-2008 03:52 PM

SandyC 07-14-2008 03:53 PM

just testing my wii wireless remote. bbl

barb02 07-14-2008 04:44 PM

Jenn-- Sorry to hear you are not feeling well and kind of down. I hope you are doing better soon. I am sure this summer weather is not helping.

Vonn, I hope you were able to move in this afternoon. It is hard to believe how many problems you have had with this move. You certainly have had to deal with alot of bureaucratic red tape.

Hope everyone is having a decent day. It is getting hotter here in Illinois.

SandyC 07-14-2008 04:57 PM

It worked! I bought a cheap wireless keyboard and it works on my Wii!!! Whoohoo! It is so much easier to type with a keyboard instead of the Wii remote. lol Those who have a Wii know what I mean (think about when you had to type with your wireless controller) haha!

I haven't figured the whole thing out yet, like how to enter once back on the Wii screen but I will. Until then I will use the Wii remote.

I see some of you are having a not so good day. I hope it gets better for you all. It is hot hot hot here and miserable and it's not getting better until next week. YUCK.

Hugs for everyone!

tkrik 07-14-2008 05:11 PM

Vonn - I'm so sorry!!! I was hoping you would be moving in today. I'll say some prayers that all will work out tomorrow for you and that you WILL be moving in.:hug:

Sandy - You Wii freak! Put the remote down! LOL I'm glad you are having fun with your new toys; keeps you young.

Fin, Barb, Sarah, and anyone else I missed who is having a tough day - I hope you all start feeling better soon - like tomorrow. :hug::grouphug:

~~~~
Just checking in for a quick HI. Been busy with family and painting and now I am downloading work to do.
Feel better everyone!
NaeNae 07-14-2008 07:35 PM
Finny- It has been brought to my attention by a member on this thread that I come on here all the time and complain about my problems and that I was out of line and rude to suggest we throw you a pity party....as you have known me for some time from the old place I hope you know that was an attempt at making you laugh and that I genuinely care about how you are feeling I have also mentioned on this thread on multiple occasions throwing my own self one!! I think that you know that I am always here for you and you and I have Pm'd in the past when you were feeling low or I was but others quite possibly misinterpreted my attempts at cheering you up for being inappropriate.
Soooo to you who were offended I apologize publicly right here. I love Jen, and care about how she is doing I also know this has been a tremendously difficult year for her and she has come through it wonderfully whether she knows it or not and she has managed to maintain a sense of humor about it all, that was what I was appealing to in that post.
Jenn- if my post upset you in anyway you know your my girl and I was only trying to lighten your day a little so PM me ok?
weegot5kiz 07-14-2008 07:41 PM
howdy all
sorry for such a late check in stupid ms sucketh
hello vonnie I sure hope i dont have to come up there and straighten these folks out, no more delays tell em frank said so that should help lol I hope you get the answer real soon
TK sure is nice to hear you are ok hope the visiting is going well and the painting too
fin and barb i hope your feeling better you too sarah
everyone else have a wonderful evening
peace
NaeNae 07-14-2008 07:43 PM
Gonna have to call Sandy tomorrow and beg to come play with her Wii, somehow that just sounds wrong LOL Hope she doesn't get tendonitis or something!
weegot5kiz 07-14-2008 07:45 PM
if it helps any renee i still like get a cart and run folks over at the walmart comment :thud:
NaeNae 07-14-2008 07:54 PM
LOL I know...I told Jenn that in her thread about muscle weakness too. I actually got hit on in walmart today....so not interested but it did make me feel good that maybe I haven't gone as far off the radar as I thought LOL Then I thought boy he has really got to be desperate to hit on someone in walmart with two kids and he had a kid with him and here I'm still wearing my huge honking wedding ring! Perhaps I should have taken my scooter I could have pushed him off into the sunset!!!!
SandyC 07-14-2008 08:48 PM
Renee, I am not sure who said you were possibly rude but I am sure it was a simple misunderstanding. Self inflicted pity parties are abound around here and it helps loosen the anxiety of the ups and downs of ms. I hope no one was offended and if they were I can assure them that Renee in no way meant harm to anyone. She has been through so much herself this year to ever want or intend to hurt anyone purposely.
Peace, love and rock and roll everyone.
soxmom 07-14-2008 09:37 PM
Renee....I think you were being lighthearted, loving and kind. In no
way did you offend ME. LIke you said......we all have those days when
we DO need a pity party.:):(
Keep being you .....you are going thru a rough time and I think
you are handling it great!!!!!
:hug::hug:
weegot5kiz 07-15-2008 07:04 AM
morning all didnt sleep at all last night
(deleted for sake of arguments)
good morning
sarah Fin barb nae and tk who i know has also over done it hope your all feeling well, Kay howdy, if that thing works today
vonnie i sure hope to hear you started moving in today
sandy you getting good work out with your wii, and renee your right that doesnt sound right lol
renee you have given me a new idea on a ride at an amusement park for folks like us bumper cars with our scooters, no modifications allowed, stricly stock models only, still debating an open area or aisles, heck lets all just meet at a certain walmart during business hours and have fun
now a serious thingy, these scooters at the stores, i have yet to use one, thank you pride issues, just like b4 i used a cane, but lately i have been thinking about it, figure deb could shop longer, yeah i just said that, but im thinking i can last longer and she can enjoy looking about longer and more, i just have a hangup im not old and feel i should be able to get along on my own two feet and a cane. but lately, its not good, that is why i was up all night leg pain and it hurts. so how hard was it the first time to use one of them there scooters????
peace, time to make the donuts
NaeNae 07-15-2008 08:10 AM
You know Frank it was kind of hard at first and people do still stare sometimes, I amuse myself by picturing them flattened under my wheels. It made it worth it though to be able to go on long outings with my husband and kids and not have to stop and sit down every five minutes or leave early because I was tired or hurting, I think that you will find this to be true once you get over the pride issues!
Demolition scooter! ALRIGHTTTTT! LOL
momXseven 07-15-2008 09:35 AM
Morning all, My kids are great (sometimes) anyway yesterday after being on the phone most of the day with my aunt and cousin, DH and than my mom the kids could tell I was upset so I had to tell them something. Being that they are so young I chose to tell the kids just that Granny was very sick and she had been in the hospital and might need to move back here. So The 2nd olds gets the colors and told all the others to come make Granny a get well card. :o
Than just now the 2nd oldest again (BTW this one is my ADHD child) saw that there is a contest on the Dr. Pepper box for a trip somewhere, he told me he hopes he wins so dad and me can go away on a free trip. :eek:
Sometimes these kids just amaze me, in a good way, they always amaze me in the "not smart" things they do.
Well my mom should be here Friday night, I'm not going to tell the kids just yet, I'm going to wait until she's here and I see how she is and play it from there.
Frank sorry you didn't sleep any last night, I hope you can get a nap in today and everything is fine.
JustWeave 07-15-2008 09:56 AM
Okay folks. I just read through several pages of updates. Sorry if I don't get the right name matched up with the situation I'm commenting on. This memory retention machine ain't what it used to be. :eek:
Von- I hope today is moving day for you. DH works for the government (housing related :)) We know all about snafus and housing blessings. Sarah- I can understand why you made all your docs walk the plank at Limbo Island. Sheesh! You need answers.:hug: tkrik- Good luck on the art business venture. :cool: I'm hoping to hang out a shingle myself this fall. I have a ton of work to do first though. Holly- Sorry to hear about your former sweetie. :hug: Sandy- Glad to hear Jim is doing better. For those I missed. :grouphug: Need to take notes next time.
And now for my plans for the day- Keeping unearthing the house that is buried under the mess and do some shopping. The shopping part might be half fun if I had some cash. Oh well. I'm going out for desperately needs, not wants.
Hope y'all have a great day. :D
Vonn07 07-15-2008 10:23 AM
hello ... tiz I ... and I lost it last night ... just wondering why I'm here and what I've done wrong ... there's not much of my life left to go on anymore ...
my friend called the complex and talked with the head guy - and he was a bit miffed that I wasn't in yet and he thought that it was all done and I was to be in on the 7th!! so he said that I'm to call at 1pm today - and that I WILL be moving in today, even if he has to do it manually!
anyways - still participating in school (As so far ... and into my 2nd week!) but will have LOTS to do!
OH - thanks, Frank about being the *tough dude*.. and everyone ... thanks for listening to my dilemma!!
tkrik 07-15-2008 10:54 AM
Another busy day in the desert. The weather has been weird. Although, I certainly can't complain as others of you have had far worse. I will say, I am not used to humidity. It's gets to one.
Today I am taking my brother and niece who are here on vacation to lunch. They are leaving later this evening.:( He is such a sweetheart! He paid for my lunch at the GTG with Twink as I did not have the money. So, today I am paying him back by taking him to lunch. I gave him a choice - the cash or lunch. He chose the lunch as he could spend time with us. Yeah!
~~~
I hope everyone woke up feeling better today. This hot, humid weather is really zapping us all as well as causing all sorts of symptoms to pop up for a bit.

Barb - I do hope that you went to the dr to get a new antibiotic and are starting to feel better.

Vonn - I sure do hope and pray that today is the day!

Weave - I know what you mean about the shopping. It is more enjoyable when you have the cash.

NaeNae - You and your scooter antics crack me up. On the serious side, a scooter would be helpful in managing physical fatigue. You can do so much more. As far as Sandy's Wii, I am sure she would love it if you went up there to play.:p However, keep in mind that Sandy does seem addicted to that remote and now the keyboard. You may end up have to come up with an intervention plan to help Sandy. LOL

Everyone else I missed - Hoping you all are doing just fine today.

SandyC 07-15-2008 11:14 AM

I am sooooooo not addicted to my Wii Wii! lmao

Cleaning up the house today. Yea for me!

FinLady 07-15-2008 11:42 AM

Hi everyone. Feeling a little better today, think it was because of all the balloons and party hats from my party. :D

Renee, have no fear. I know it was all in good fun and it made me smile. Thanks for the post on my thread in the MS forum. I was laughing so hard I almost messed up my keyboard. Gotta remember to put the coffee down before I read. :D

Sandy, we are still on the hunt for Wii fit. LOL, who thought a game would be as hard to find as the console itself?

Vonn, :hug: hoping this gets all worked out for ya soon.

Anyhoo,

I'm still going to take it easy today. Just a little puttering and no major projects. My mind's like "but you're feeling better", but the bod is like "do you really want to hit that wall again?"

Thanks everyone for making me smile yesterday. :grouphug:

SandyC 07-15-2008 11:51 AM

Finn, have you tried EB Games/Gamestop? They had it the other day by me.

Ours was out the last few times I went there. Apparently unless you're there the same day they get it, it's gone. :eek: Guess it's very popular here. Hoping the craze dies down just enough for me to finally find one, LOL.

Vonn07 07-15-2008 12:08 PM

it's true .. it's happening (hmmm - Frank's threat must of really worked!) ... I'm moving in at 2pm today!! their systems are still 'down' ... so they had to do everything MANUALLY!!

so - I'm just waiting to leave here .. only takes me less than 5 minutes to get to the apartment ...

first, the girl said that I had to pay $17/day for the rest of the 15 days of the month ... and I asked WHY?? I said that it's so hard to start with nothing and then get behind right away! she said because I came from an unsubsided housing ... and I said that the other place didn't say I would have to - and plus, I was able to move in by the first ...

so, she put me on hold and came back with they will prorate my monthly rate ($43/mon) for the rest of July!! whew!!

btw ... does anyone know how much one can make a month or keep in savings without going thru the checkbook balance again??

still waiting to hear about my disability ... finally got my address changed over yesterday .. so, I'll be dealing with that horror of 2 weeks of piled up mail!

and the internet and new land line will both go in tomorrow too!

NaeNae 07-15-2008 01:59 PM

Tricia- I am so glad you had your family there and got to visit! And to meet Twink too! I have never been west of Oklahoma or Kansas LOL I need to come visit the desert! Oh wait yes I have once, I went to California, so not impressed LOL!

Sandy- at least now its a different Wii Wii you are playing with!

Jen- glad you are feeling better today...you know I live to make you spit coffee all over your screen! And I just thought of what you need to make you feel better and all you need is your laptop and your couch and I know Tricia will agree.....YETI SPORTS YAYYYYYYY! nothing like slapping those little penguins around! Beats playing with your Wii Wii LOL!

Vonn- good luck with the housing situation.

Today I went out into the shop to work some more on my antique chest of drawers I got for mother's day, I got all of the handles stripped and then I copper glazed them. I also stripped the pain off of two more drawers, so now all I have to to is strip the top and legs, and then sand it all and then I can stain! I could tell when my Neurontin wore off so I am now in the house resting and took another one now in a couple of hours I can go back to work!

weegot5kiz 07-15-2008 02:17 PM

congrats vonn I am glad

fin have you tried toys r us best buys circuit city walmart, just watch out for renee and her killer cart

sandy have you downloaded any of the old mario games, that was the first thing i did, some of the nitendo 64 games require an additional controller shaped like the old controllers. needless to say we got those and 4 reg ones so when we bowl its not safe here, lol a few months back 4 of us were bowling and landon our adopted grankid walk in front of me as i bowled oops ouch lol still got a strike and thats what counts, kid was ok landed on his keister. what was really cool the boys got super mario smash brothers a game they played all the time and just laughed and teased each other years ago. I cant tell you how wonderful it was to hear them that first time on the wii playing that game again, it was almost as if they were 12 13 14 15 again it was music to debs and my ears

everyone else have a marvey day

SandyC 07-15-2008 03:13 PM

I downloaded Mario 3, Donkey Kong, Blades of Steel and Punch Out. lol

Chris and Nik love playing tennis. I don't get that one. ha!

FranksAngel 07-15-2008 03:31 PM

good afternoon everyone ... :Wave-Hello:

frank and i are trying to take it easy as he had a rough night last night ... not sure but he says i hogged the bed again ... must have been the awesome smell of the clean sheets, pillowcases, and comforter that were dried outside on the clothes line ... :smirk::Zzzz:

this morning i took son (21 yr old with high functioning autism) to the DMV to get a replacement state ID as he has lost his wallet .... again :Bang-Head:
oh and i have talked frank into taking me to lowes (an hour away) to get a canapy swing that seats two and reclines into a bed swing ... he loves me so much ... lol this is frank ---> :Bang-Head:

sandy ... have you got the wii fit? frank and i are still looking for it ... everyone here is sold out of them and have been for quite awhile ... its so frustrating as we really want one :hissyfit:

vonn ... i take it stomping your feet, cane, or running over someone finially worked ... yeah!!! :Wheel::yahoo:

renee ... are you going to post a pic of the dresser when your finished ... i so love antiques ... i am getting a birds eye maple bedroom set from my mother ... i cant wait ... she is still using it at the time in her spare bedroom but says soon i can come get it ... it is absolutely gorgous :Dancing-Chilli:

to everyone else ... i hope today finds you happy and calm ... :grouphug:

SandyC 07-15-2008 04:16 PM

I don't have a Wii fit but I did find them on Ebay. Go check it out!

Vonn07 07-15-2008 04:54 PM

of course ... moving on one of the HOTTEST days of the year ... and now the landlord/manager says that he'll see about changing out the A/C unit by the end of the week ... I think I was a bit persistant that I can't handle the hot weather and need A/C .. but - I"M MOVING!!!

new carpeting ... and new frige and stove and dishwasher AND mike!!

FRANK??? FRANK??? go get-em!! LOL

I do agree 100%! Nothing like taking your frustrations out on those little guys. And the best part is they laugh while you do it. "Ready, OK, smack Weeeeeee, giggle" When I get mad at the MS I pretend that is what I am hitting. I still get a kick out the Orca Slip (sp) where you throw the snowball at the penguins and if you hit one they fly in to the target and you see their little legs sticking out kicking. LOL. Cracks me up.

Yeti has their own website. I go on there now to play.

FinLady 07-15-2008 06:58 PM

Vonn, Glad to hear it's all getting sorted out. New place, wahoo!:highfive:

Frank, we hunt every once in awhile to find it. We haven't gone all the way to stalking the stores yet - LOL. But everytime we're in a best buy, circuit city, etc we search for it. For some reason, the Wii Fit is BIG here. Everyone wants this particular game, or so it seems. When we went to the 4th of July party, the majority of our friends have also been having problems finding it too. It's a conspiracy, LOL :lookaround:

~~~~~~~~
Just been doing little things like laundry, took a nap, and convinced hubby to go get Papa Murphey's for dinner. :) That's about the long and short of my evening update.
Hope everyone has a good evening!:grouphug:
CayoKay 07-15-2008 07:58 PM
hi everybody !!
thanks for the birthday wishes...
I'm using mi esposo's computer for a bit, and I SHOULD be grateful, but geez I feel whiny...
the screen's too far away, the chair's the wrong height, the desk is too high, the keyboard's too small, and I keep hitting the wrong keys... plus, there's no room for my footrest under the desk, as he's got all his surge protector and other gear stuffed there, can't move it without ... well... too much work, LOL.
guess I'm getting old or sumpthin' ya know, when ya want everything to just be simple and easy, and unchanging.
okay, here's the good news... this monitor-crash thing is a KNOWN problem for the model/year I have... geeky-DD says SURPRISED my computer's lasted so long, as MOST of them went bad within 2 years...
anyway, there's capacitors that have FRIED (13 of them) and she managed to locate the right parts, and is picking them up today after college, and shipping them to the jungle.
hubby's computer is too hard for me to use easily, so I'll make this fast.
Vonny-baybee, glad you'll be moving in right QUICK !!
can't wait til ya get all settled in and cozy and comfy, and can get back to work on your quilts and stuff.
Frank, everybody's RIGHT, you will be surprised to discover how MUCH energy you actually have left OVER when you use the store carts.
"Pride" doesn't cut it as an excuse, you need to learn to HOARD your "spoons" and use them WISELY, dude... spending them on walking and standing in aisles means you'll have less "juice" left over for Deb, to be humorous, and loving and your regular sweet self...
NaeNae, keep it up, babygirl... and get yourself a warning sign placard, "BE NICE, or the TOES get it !!"
hugs to everyone else, I gotta go, using this is hurting my eyes...
weegot5kiz 07-15-2008 09:04 PM
wow what do I say, thank you Kay, glad you were able to adjust long enough to type to us, hope your birthday was wonderful
tk and nae nae I love those penquins, was it fin that posted the link for that game, (just doubled checked it was shelly) i go to it when bored, many a night late, when i cant sleep i got a 321 once and that was it, got some 300+ but i like the nose dive ones
vonn as for air conditioner its an electronic device smack it once or twice should get it up and running, lol no wait dont do that, with what you have gone through as of late, you will smack it out to the street enjoy your first night in your place :hug:
as for me once again deb seems to not understand the concept of me having MS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 4 different lowes to get this really nice outside swing soft cushion and you can fold the seat down to a bed and swing outside, but each store took us farther from our house during rush hour traffic, I did ok driving, the only folks who freaked were the ones walking down the sidewalks,
well yall have a wonderful evening and night
penquin game hope link works
