Well, I submitted my artwork to OHG for them to use as they wish (Zazzle site as well as other projects). I will post it in my album here.

I did have one painting in mind but this morning I changed my mind. Since OHG is MS related one of the ones I did over the weekend really depicts the difficulties us MSers have. I took spackling compound, let it dry, and then took a Dremel to make designs. However, I had no grip strength, coordination, and tremors so the Dremel took over most of the control. LOL I then painted it and put little drops of water in various places just for fun and little special effects.

DD16 liked it so much she wanted to do one. However, she didn't want to use the Dremel. So I gave her a . . .I can't think of the name of it . . .however, you use it for doing clay work. She got a more precise and much better design using that tool. I have one prepped and ready to be "carved" out and I am certainly going to use the same tools DD16 did as opposed to fighting with the Dremel. lol

i posted a couple replies but its by the artwork doesnt even show up on profile page

I like it tk its intersting intriguing and my first thought was of the florida keys the water down there looks a lot like that,hopefully the new weapon of choice works better, i did not even know where the dremel took over artistically and where you left off, ya did good

Auntie Kafleen's day was like carp... totally...

there wasn't a single part of me that wasn't bothersome yesterday !! :eek:

a series of ice-pick headaches in my right ear, (stab, stab, stab, ouch, ouch, ouch !!)

my right hand is all wrapped in gauze from a reaction to mango peel (like poison oak rash) itch itch itch, *itch *itch *itch !!

try using a mouse with a bandaged hand... ha ha ha.

or try switching the mouse to the other side, and using your left hand.

more ha ha ha, the cursor skitters all OVER the place, and scrolling is impossible.

my belly hurt bad (clutch, clutch, moan, moan, run to bathroom, hurry hurry !!) so, I couldn't EAT for a whole day, and missed mi esposo's gorgeous masterpiece, the Galantine, which he worked on for many hours. *sniffle sniffle - whine whine*

both legs were all tight and stiff, with ankles all swollen and achey, wah wah wah !!

and my lower back was hurting, low-grade, but definitely getting my constant attention... twinge, wince, twinge, wince

oh, and to add insult to injury, my face is breaking out in ZITS (at age 51 ?? how can this BE ?), and I'm having hot flashes galore.

now I ASK you, how FAIR is that, to have Menopause and PMS simultaneously ??

plus, I still have no computer (waiting on capacitors, arriving "soon") so I have to use hubby's and with my diminished capacity, the learning curve is abysmal...

see, it's NOT a Mac... so, it's kinda like trying to drive an automatic, when you've only driven a manual all your life, lol !!

oh, and I have a whole bunch of bug bites... itchy, twitchy, witchy !! because I hurried outside without being fully covered, to referee a noisy dispute between my birds.

my geese were disagreeing with a mother chicken on who exactly should be in charge of her little chickies... see, the GEESE think they know everything, and try to take over, and run the show, and then, LOOK OUT! 'cause mama chicken disagrees.

so, all in all, yesterday was a LOUSY piece of *%#*, and I hereby consign it to the dustbin of history, forever.

fortunately, with my cogfog, I'll probably forget yesterday, by tomorrow :D

it wasn't a day of colossal pain or anything big, just the accumulation of a whole bunch of minor stuff, which I couldn't tune out successfully for very long.

luckily, I have a will of steel, and a constitution of adamantine, and made it through to the end without breaking anything, or having a fight with hubby.

I mostly lay on the bed, reading Thom Hartmann's great book SCREWED - The Undeclared War Against The Middle Class - and What We Can Do About It

http://www.alternet.org/workplace/41192/

it's an absolutely RIVETING book, and I recommend it HIGHLY !

so, I fell asleep at 7 pm yesterday, exhausted, and guess what?

it's 2 am, and I'm wide awake.

but I'm grateful, my tummy doesn't hurt, my back doesn't hurt, the icepicks are asleep, and the benadryl cream is working on my hand...

so, VOILA!! I'm almost HUMAN again, :p

now Trish, aren't you sorry you asked ??

thanks, dear, you're a real trooper.

it's not a flare - I hardly ever get those any more, since I'm SPMS.

it's just a collection of residual deficits (Sharon Stone's visit), and pseudo-stuff (the leg spazzes), plus getting old, plus picking mangoes without gloves, plus getting bug bites, plus tweaking my back doing housework.

not a good combination (wah wah wah)

but glad I could make you smile you along the way.

and where ELSE would I find sympatico people who REALLY understand what it's like ??

:grouphug::D:grouphug:

and yeah, baby bro, I'm goin' back to bed now, I promise !!

Good morning all :) There's an air quality alert here today due to humidity. So I am staying inside with my lovely A/C and keeping track of how I do today.

I'm going to try to take a pic of my last painting today so I can start on the next one. Of course, not sure when I'll get it up. I know how to point and click the camera, but the downloading the picture into a computer is my hubby's expertise at the moment - LOL.

~~~
Frank, my sign language is a little fuzzy, but if I'm right, it said "good morning". Learned a little as a kid because the teachers at school taught us some because there was a girl at our school who was hearing impaired. Kinda cool to watch the teacher incorporate it into what she was saying from time to time.
Kay, oh my. Sorry you had a rough day. Hoping it improves. :hug:
TK, too cool about the artwork. :cool:
Barb, don't feel bad about hiring someone to help ya out. Do whatever you need to do. :hug: I've got someone I can nag for free, and he's starting to help out on his own too, LOL.
NaeNae 07-29-2008 08:45 AM
Hope you feel better today Kay, ugh at PMS and premenopausal...Aunt Flo is here for her monthly visit and thankfully she has been pretty tame this month.
Fought all day with my mother yesterday, left me with a headache, exhausted and crying most of the day,my mother has always been extremely emotionally and verbally abusive to me, too bad I have no other relatives to go live with temporarily!
Today taking my resume to a clinic here in town and going to buy groceries and school supplies!
tkrik 07-29-2008 09:04 AM
Kay - I am not sorry I asked. I am glad as you were able to vent and that is awesome. I do hope you felt better after you got it all out. I also hope that today will be a much better day for you.
Fin - Let us know how you do. I know that yesterday I did better and the humidity was down to 33% here. It made a difference. Stay nice and cool today and drink lots of iced water, tea, sodas, whatever as long as it has ice in it. That little bit helps.
Renee - Sorry about the living arrangement. Keep in mind it is only temporary and you will be out on your own shortly. Good luck with your job prospect. Saying prayers for you.:hug:
~~~
I am gearing myself up for lots of battles this week.

Remember when I had to take DD16 to the hospital? Well, I got a bill!:eek: She is on, or so I thought, one of the public health programs. Well, somehow, she got dropped when the state switched programs. She had NO insurance and now I am going to have to pay the hospital bill regardless.

I talked to them yesterday and they gave me the number for the program (Kids Care) that dropped the ball as well as the guy was going to send the info over to them. I called yesterday but got that standard message that "all operators were busy serving other customers, call back at another time." UGH!!!

On top of that it is going to cost me over $200 to register her for a public school. I don't have $200 to register her. If I can't pay, I can't register her. It is so stupid!!! So, I am gearing up for that battle come Friday when all the seniors have to register. Every year, something has come up when registering her for school. This year will be no exception and I am sure, as I had to do her freshman year, I will be in the superintendents office on Friday after the school gives us a hard time. UGH again!!!

It's crazy. It is no wonder we are ranked as one of the bottom states for education. I think we are 47th or 48th. :rolleyes: Ok, I'm done or I'll go on and on about our poor education system and the lack of organization. We did get a new superintendent this year so I am hoping that some positive changes will be made.

Have a good day everyone.

JustWeave 07-29-2008 09:09 AM

Hey Frank if Finlady is wrong could you please translate for us? I think she is right but it's been a long time since I learned the sign alphabet.

Spending too much time playing instead of working. Need to get moving if I ever want to get out from under this mess.

:grouphug: y'all!

already better, darlin' Finny !!

my day started at 5 am, with a run to market, and to the bank.

it's so exciting, we now have a 24 hour ATM machine in the jungle town of San Ignacio, so I could get cash to pay the crew today...

because.... today's the BIG DAY here, there's a seven-man team in my yard, doing the concrete slab pour for my animal hurricane shelter !!

they're mixing sand, rocks, and concrete in a little mixer, shoveling it into buckets, and hauling them up a ladder, one bucket at a time, and making the roof...

it's cool to watch, as they work quickly, trying to finish before the day heats up, and the concrete hardens... it must be done all at once to get the concrete to cure properly, so it's a continuous pour... amazing, really.

oh, and I scored four 50-lb bags of cabbage outer leaves (repollo basura, por favor?) at the market, so my bunnies and guineas are pleased.

and a whole LOAD of banged-up papayas, which are making my chickens very happy right now.

then, we got the other half of the nursery done, with a nice layer of clean sand for the duckie-baybies...

with patience, I'm teaching them to come when I call... each time I bring food, I make a kiss-kiss noise, and after a week, wowzers, all the ducklings RUN right to me when I go into the nursery...

it makes my heart sing, because they're all so darn cute...

so, I'm headed off to bed, and will probably sleep all day, lol.

have I told you guys lately how much I love you all ??

:grouphug::hug::grouphug:

weegot5kiz 07-29-2008 09:52 AM

rest easy dream big Kay:hug:

FinLady 07-29-2008 09:59 AM

TK, good luck with the battles your facing. Ugh! I hate that too. I've had to fight medical bills a lot lately. One place put in the wrong group number for our insurance and that took 6 months for them to get it sorted out! Going back and forth with them and the insurance company was a you know what. :(

Kay, Glad to hear that you're feeling a little better. It's so cute that the ducklings are following you. :)

Frank, WooHoo!!! I did remember it correctly. :) I take any little achievements I can get. :)

Renee, sorry to hear about the fight with your mom. Hope you get some good responses from your resume.

CayoKay 07-29-2008 10:19 AM

hey Frank ??

and a Good Morning to YOU, too, my dear !!

did I tell you, we got our two goats at the Cayo Deaf Institute ??

that's where we go, once a month, to the Mennonite's land, they have 18,000 acres, dotted with farms carved out of the jungle.

anyway, the little deaf kids were thrilled that I remembered some sign language, enough to spell out hello, and how are you today? and what's happenin' dudes?...

and they were all laughing merrily, as I tried to greet them with sign language, en Espanol too:

"Hola, como esta?" and "Que pasa, mi amigos!?!"

here's a little bit about the Cayo Deaf Institute, which got started in 1999:

http://www.internationaljournalism.com/mennonite.html

their's is a fascinating story, oh yeah !!

weegot5kiz 07-29-2008 10:41 AM

nada senora, senorita? Kay, como esta, i know a few other words most will get me in trouble, like yo aquiero(sp?) malta http://i288.photobucket.com/albums/l...reathcloud.gif

weegot5kiz 07-29-2008 10:47 AM

what a wonderful story Kay thank you awesome

Momma's Kids 07-29-2008 10:55 AM

Hope all of you are doing well. Today is one of the worst days I've had for pain...but I'm still kicking, just only an inch off the floor. lol

Have a lot to do today, just hoping to get it done...especially with only 2 hours of sleep. I feel like the bug that hit the windshield. lol

My favorite saying: It could be worse, just hope it doesn't get there. :winky:

Kay, I took sign language classes when I was in Fl. I sang Holy Night to my teacher, whom was deaf, but could talk and sing. She has been deaf since she was three months old. How amazing is that...her mom made her put her hand to her throat as she spoke. She also made her watch how her lips moved, so she reads lips also. I am glad you got to go and enjoyed your trip.

weegot5kiz 07-29-2008 10:58 AM

if you are not feeling well mama dont go over doin it now, that wont help you none

SandyC 07-29-2008 12:23 PM

Hey all, just popping in to tell you our beds are so nice! BUT, one of the adjustable bases is broke. They are sending out the parts today to the repair person who should call tomorrow. UGh, wouldn't ya know it? Brand new and already needing a repair. *sigh*

Tomorrow Jim has his appointment with the new doc. YEA!

weegot5kiz 07-29-2008 12:34 PM

thats right the new beds are here today. congrats on it being half way done, I forgot you might be busy today with the beds, didnt see you on, got a little worried about Jim glad it was just the beds. hopefully they will have it fixed soon, tell jim no bouncing on these...well... ok no jumping.... ok tell jim to behave:rolleyes:

NaeNae 07-29-2008 02:42 PM

Congrats on the new bed! I need one badly, my mothers guest bed is awful!

I went to drop off my resume and they had me fill out an application-somewhat redundant I think but anyway, then I had to fill out a personality profile and then they interviewed me right then! And the funniest part, the woman who did my interview has two daughters whom I went to school with and my football player boyfriend dumped me for her daughter! We had a good laugh over that, both of her daughters were always very sweet and there was never any animosity between us, we stayed friends despite it! Anyway, she said they would make a decision by Friday and let me know...she did say they had several applicants...as they are offering 16.50 an hour to start, only half days on Fridays, no weekends,holidays or overtime,plus they pay for my uniforms and my health insurance...of course I have to pay to add the kids, and the doctor matches your 401 k at 100%

Then I went to Walmart...alone except for the kids YAY my anxiety is getting better......and got all of Daytons school supplies and a few groceries.

weegot5kiz 07-29-2008 02:46 PM

good to hear this renee, each day you can only get stronger:hug:

SandyC 07-29-2008 03:11 PM

That is awesome Renee!!!!!! What are the chances huh? It is a small world.

Speaking of which, the repair guy called us and will be here Thursday. But, the best part is while we were talking he told me he knew a guy named Jim with our last name from Lisle. I said that would be us and asked what was his name? Mind you, now I am thinking, I hope it's not some seedy friend, lol. It wasn't, it was our dear friend Perry who had been taking care of Jim's power chairs for years prior to us moving out west. He became a very close friend to us, especially Jim. We had lost touch and our guardian angel up above brought him back into our lives. Tis' a good day indeed.

NaeNae 07-29-2008 03:32 PM

Dang must be old home week or something!

sabimax 07-29-2008 04:14 PM

Hey all,
Humidity was a rising today...and I knew it due to eye blurring out and about....and face feeling numbish...but not too bad on the tingling pain...I really think that is due to the neurontin...YEAHHHHHHHH WOOHOOOOO

Usually, once humidity is up, I am tingling quite a bit...and sometimes painfully....so nice not to tingle....:rolleyes:

Tired and worn out from work, long day....going to go drink more water, and rest a bit....hugsss,sarah

FinLady 07-29-2008 05:45 PM

Sandy, that is such a cool story! It's great when things like that happen.

Renee, Sounds like the interview went well. Keeping fingers crossed.

Sarah, glad to hear the neurotin seems to be working for ya.

Everyone, :grouphug: to you all.

tkrik 07-29-2008 05:50 PM

Sandy - That will be so neat to see him again. How wonderful.

Renee - Wishing you luck, keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Sarah - That is good news that the Neurontin seems to be working for you. It is so nice not to have that nerve stuff going on all the time. If it is the Neurontin, you will occasionally have some breakthrough pain.

Fin - How did you do today?

Vonn - Come out, come out where ever you are!!! I know you are lurking but how are you doing in your new place? Have you settled in more?

sabimax 07-29-2008 05:51 PM

ahhhhh last hour here having such urgencys to peeeeee then when I pee...right as I am finishing..strong wierd feeling down there....sorry Frank for the grafics..hehe

like another urge, but just finishing...whats up with that??? new sx? side effect of few days on meds?? oh another idea....last time I had a check up...I was told my bladder wall is falling..maybe it fell :eek:

any of you with this experience, be it a sx, or issue...helppp...I did start a thread...who knows if anyone will read it lol..hugsss,sarah

tkrik 07-29-2008 05:58 PM

Sarah - 1st thoughts - Bladder infection starting? Bladder spasm? I do get bladder spasms and sometimes they are similar to what you describe, other times they fell like a tight ball.

FinLady 07-29-2008 06:02 PM

Sarah, I posted on your thread. I think it might be spasms too.

TK, the long and short of my day's energy went to a painting and making dinner, LOL. Beginning to think doc's office is right with this whole fatigue/humidity thing. :rolleyes: But not as bad as before since I actually got some stuff done. ;)

sabimax 07-29-2008 06:29 PM

thanks you two..hugssss
hoping it settles down..whatever it may be!! well got one baby crying...one little girl humming as she colors...the others are out and about at friends...

gotta run, hugsss,sarah

SandyC 07-29-2008 08:20 PM

Sarah, whatever it is I hope it's not serious. I would have it checked if you don't feel better especially if you were told it may fall. :yikes:

True story. Jim's granny was in the bathroom once and came out with her legs spread. HER BLADDER FELL OUT! I kid you not, the dang thing was hanging out of her crotch. They put it back in and tied it up at the hospital. Double :yikes: :yikes:

weegot5kiz 07-29-2008 08:56 PM

SandyC 07-29-2008 08:59 PM

We're supposed to get hit in about 20 minutes. It looks nasty!

FinLady 07-29-2008 09:00 PM

Sandy, that's a little creepy. But I've heard of strange things happening all the time. Hazard of having medical field people in the family - you hear some strange stories.

Sarah, I agree. See the doc if it gets worse. :hug:

~~~~~~~~~~
Alrighty then. I finally figured out how to do the albulm feature on NT, LOL. Three of my paintings are posted there now, including the one I did this weekend.
Other than that, not much else going on here. Hope everyone has a good night.
SandyC 07-29-2008 09:07 PM
Jenn, love your work! I remember two of them that you showed us before. Thanks for sharing. You make me think when I look at your work. The trapped one? You can feel the tension in it.
sabimax 07-29-2008 09:08 PM
SANDY...was that TMI..hehehehe now I might have nightmares that my bladder falls out..of me..:eek::eek:
ahhhhh, I surely if any issues still by friday will mention to the assistant I see friday...but otherwise if not problem..in Sept. when I see my own dr..I will mention this...and maybe have my bladder checked out..wouldnt want it to fall out.....ahhhhhhhhh :eek::eek:
hehehehe
well heading to bed soon, I did take a walk with the two little ones..but boy just a short short walk..and everything is stiffening up again...uggggg
hate this....I was one to take mile walks...and somedays I can barely take a small walk....:mad: I get upset...as I need to lose weight for cholesterol and to just lose weight...hey if I let my bladder fall out..that must be a few pounds lol...hehehe
well if I eat better, and get going with yoga..which would be good for the muscle tone..as I feel like lack of muscle tone lately.....gotta go, hugsss to all, sarah:)
SandyC 07-29-2008 09:10 PM
Sarah, what in the world are you going out in this humidity for? Have the kids walk around the house with you in the air conditioning or go to the local mall. Mercy! Even I get sick and weak in this stuff. What am I going to do with all of you? lol
