overdo it?? it was my carp ... and it needed to get done!! now to clean and organize it ...

hey - keeping up with classes too.... As!!!:D

JustWeave 07-16-2008 08:07 AM

Von- Moving day finally happened? :eek: Woohoo!:D:cool: I second what Frank said about getting to see a picture of your lake view. Once you get unpacked and the dust starts to settle on your new place. No big rush. :rolleyes:

Well I spent yesterday afternoon shopping with both kids then took DS for a group golf lesson in the evening. Today I need to get some housework done and make some returns. I left DS12 try on clothing without me checking the fit before buying. Big mistake! :mad:

:grouphug:

NaeNae 07-16-2008 08:17 AM

Frank- don't be too hard on Deb just picture the times you two can crawl into that swing together!

Deb- yup I'll post pics LOl or as usual have Sandy do it for me!

Kay- glad you popped in for a few to let us know you are doing ok.

Tricia- I've been using the official website to play too! I don't have a fav though I love them all!

momXseven 07-16-2008 08:46 AM

Vonn, Woo Hoo on finally moving!

Frank, the others are right, use those store carts and wheel around to save your spoons. When DH had to use them after a stroke I felt so much better about him being out shopping with me, it made me feel bad when he walked all over the store and I could see it was hard on him.

:grouphug: 's to everyone!

Nothing really going on with me. I have been wanting to see the Cirque Dreams Coobrila at Six Flags so DH said we could go last night, well we got rained out :rain: and they say it's going to rain tonight also. DH has to work late Thursday and than our nanny will not be here Friday-Sunday. So maybe I can see it next Monday. http://www.sixflags.com/overTexas/en...scoobrila.aspx

SandyC 07-16-2008 09:11 AM

Hey all. Heading out to get the gray's covered today. It's been way too long. haha

My allergies are acting up, headache everyday. I am putting Ibuprofin on the map!

To those of you wanting the Wii fit. Seriously, we saw on the news that playing ten minutes of the boxing game burns major calories. Jim plays from the bed so standing is not required. He is wore out after two rounds. haha

Everyone have a good day and stay cool and safe.

tkrik 07-16-2008 09:24 AM

VONN - It happened? It really happened? YAHOOOOOOO! I am so happy for you.:hug:

Renee - LOL. It is a fun site. I don't play that camel spit one. I just can't get the hang of it. DD18 loves that one.

MX7 - What a bummer! Sorry to hear it didn't work out last night.

Weave - LOL. I have girls and of course, being girls, they have to ask what I think and/or their sister thinks. However, DD18 (then around 14) was at her dads. He took them shopping for clothes. When they got home DDs were showing me their new clothes and trying them on for me. DD18 comes out in these black jeans that were, in my opinion, triple super low rises.:eek: I made her turn around and take them off. The rule in this house is, if it is low enough to possible show any hair or the hair line DDs don't leave the house with them on. I can't believe her dad allowed her to get those. Yes, they were returned. LOL.

Fin - Hope your feeling better today and that you body and mind both say "GO" today. LOL. I too hate the feeling of the mind being all on and the body saying "No, freaking way" and vice versa. I love it when they both say "go." Hoping that is what happens to you today.

Barb - How are you feeling? Are you starting to feel better? Hoping the antibiotics have kicked in. (Oh, you did get a new one, right? I hope:o)

Kay - Glad you got a chance to check in. You are lucky that DD found the parts that you need for your Mac. DDs just went through a Mac attack. They are happy to have it back but they had to set everything back up. LOL. They did lose all of their pictures. Yes, DD18 lost all her photography. Very sad. I hope that you don't lose any data and that the fix will be simple.

Good morning everyone else. I hope everyone has a good day.

~~~
Dilemma here. In a pony tail, my hair goes down to the bra line. Tux (our feral kitten) has taken up playing with my hair. UGH! Yesterday, I got some dictation in and was trying to type and here comes Tux climbing up the back of my chair to get at my hair. It was so annoying.
Then last night I had to watch Nova (my fav). I laid on the couch all nice and comfy and here he comes to the end of the couch jumping up and down to get at my hair. He then got on the couch and my hair was under attack. I ended up putting in a bun and partially covering my head with a blanket. How dare he interrupt my favorite show. LOL
This morning as I sit here typing this, I got smart. I got my little spray bottle that I use when I am painting and every time he tried to play with my hair I would squirt him. I am hoping this training technique will work. LOL. I feel so mean but it needs to be done.
weegot5kiz 07-16-2008 09:57 AM
good morn all
tk that will work condition the little fur ball
Sandy that boxing will kill you, sean knock out an opponent in 26 seconds deb me grandma and his brothrers sat there stunned, cause it took all of us 3 rounds at the very lest, whats nice is it brings the parents back into gaming these other systems and the 12000 buttons to press is too much for me
thanks julie
renee I know, but some times:Bang-Head:
vonn glad u got the big stuff in try not to just try to take it somewhat easy so u dont over do it :hug:
barb02 07-16-2008 11:39 AM
Hi Everyone! Summer has arrived in Illinois. It is supposed to be in the 90s with lots of humidity all week. I guess it is time to turn into a vampire. I went to a farmer's market this morning and to the grocery store, and felt horrible by the time I got home. I cranked up the ac, and I am starting to feel ok. I am going to spend the rest of the day at home reading my book for book club tomorrow. the name of the book is "Mountains Beyond Mountains." It is a biography about a doctor from the U.S. and his medical work in Haiti. He is trying to eradicate tuberculosis there. All of the new students at my university receive a copy of it during the summer and they are supposed to read it for orientation. I don't think they are going to like it or read it.
Vonn, I am also thrilled that you finally go to move in. Enjoy the new appliances. You have a flatscreen tv? I am jealous!
Tricia -- Thanks! No I did not get a new antibiotic. Doctor did not suggest one, and since I have problems with so many of them I thought I would see if I get better. I am still stuffed up and getting headaches, but I am trying zyrtec instead.
Sandy, please pass the bottle of ibuprofen.
Hope everyone is having a decent day!
FinLady 07-16-2008 11:59 AM
Afternoon all :) Sitting here sipping some iced tea. I guess my house will become my "island in the sun" since we also have the heat wave coming.
Sandy, can totally relate about the allergies. I can't seem to catch a break! Started in spring, and with how big the cattails are growing this year - it's going to be until winter!
Kay, glad you checked in. Hope those computer parts come to ya quick. It never feels right when it's someone else 'puter.
TK, Hope the water trick works on the new kitty. Didn't with my tiger, but she's a little weird. She likes water so she just lets herself (and everything around her) get soaked.
Vonn, Glad all the big stuff got moved. Can't wait to see a pic of the new pad.
Weave, ahh the teenage years. I remember them well. Got in trouble over clothes too for awhile.
Julie, is that group part of cirque de solie? I've seen a couple of their performances before. It is a cool show.
Anyhoo,
Gotta figure out what to have for lunch. Hope everyone has a great day! :grouphug::grouphug:
It looks really good so I can't wait to see it.
NaeNae 07-16-2008 04:48 PM
Sigh I spent all day from 9am this morning until almost 3 at the National Guard getting mine and Daytons ID cards renewed and getting Olivia updated in DEERS. Now my back is killing me from sitting to long and I am so tired it isn't funny, think I should do some redbull and jagermeister shots or something LOL oh wait I sent all of my Jagermeister to Jenn! Ick. I feel your pain. I've done that before - but never for that long. I can't sit still that long - I can't even imagine trying to keep two kiddos from melting down in a boring waiting area. The one in Norfolk was so gross, I was afraid I'd catch something if I sat down....
oh, NaeNae... babygirl !!
I sooooooooooooooo know whatchoo mean !
send me some Jagermeister, STAT !!
today was the day we were supposed to return to Belmopan to retrieve our passports from Immigration, with the special new PERM REZ stamps.
I *knew* I'd be toast when I got back, so I prepped all the evening animal food, cleaned the house, swept, showered, etc. before we left.
got there, and the lady said... "The director's not in, come back at 3."
so, we spent all DAY in the capitol... shopping and visiting friends, 'cause we didn't wanna haveta make the long DRIVE again.
guess what ??
we went back at 3, and the director was "Too busy"
%$&*^%$#$%
so, we have to go BACK again... ARGGHHHHH, I'm a wee bit frustrated.
plus, I feel NEKKID without my passport, as my CA Drivers License expired in 2005, so that's my only identification...
so, NaeNae, we're twins... my back aches, and my legs are spazzing, and I feel like I could sleep for a YEAR.
plus, I'm SAD because I can't show OLIVIA all my new WOK WOKs...
we have 4 new baby guinea pigs, the most adorable little Hoppitty-hoppers ever, and... three dozen new DUCKLINGS, from 5 of the ducky moms.
AND, there's still 9 duck moms sitting on nests.
so, by the end of next week, we'll be SWIMMING in adorable little fuzzy babies, cheeping and running around...
by the way, Trish, your namesake is doing well, she graduated from the nursery yesterday, and now proudly leads her ducklings around the farm, HISSING mightily at any who even dare to get too close !!
LOL !!
despite being all achy and cranky and stuff, we had to MOVE some more ducks into the nursery, and juggle nestboxes and cages to get everyone situated.
and we put the three preggers guinea piggies together, so their mates would quit buggin' 'em all the time for you-know-what...
:o:D:p
tkrik 07-16-2008 10:21 PM
LOL Kay! That would be me. Don't mess with my ducklings. Well, actually a little of the right kind of messing helps build character and that is OK. Stolen lunch money is a lesson learned by the kids. LOL
Sorry today was a hassel. Excuse my short term memory but did you get your passport back as well as everything else?
NaeNae and Kay - I hope you both feel better by tomorrow.
Barb - I hope that the Zyrtec works for you and clears you up.:hug:
Fin - I so hope this kitten is not like your kitten. I want it to hate this spray bottle. lol It is hard to work and concentrate on what is being dictated when a kitten is attacking your hair and head. lol
Well, Sandy, how did it go? Here I am trying to will more gray to come in and you're covering it up. LOL. I have 1 gray streak about 1/4 to 1/2 inch wide on the top of my head towards the back. I always wanted to go gray gracefully, you know all over at the same time. I was estatic a few months back when I found a sole gray in the front.:D I had my hair highlighted/low lighted a couple of months ago and I asked the girl to try not to color the one gray hair in the front. LOL. She laughed.
tkrik 07-16-2008 10:54 PM
Kay - UGH!! UGH!! UGH!!! All that time wasted just to have to go back again on Friday. I will pray that it all works out for you on Friday so you don't need to go back. :hug:
Vonn - Glad to hear that your in and things are starting to work out for you.:hug:
NaeNae 07-17-2008 08:01 AM
Greta are you counting the days yet? When do you go to Italy? I may have to come visit you I loved it so much!
Kayo- I swear the crud you have gone thru to get your residency sheesh!
Frank- I am the mojito queen! MMMMMM Yummy now you made me want mojitos! It is my fav, here's the recipe for one serving...
3 fresh mint sprigs
2 tsp sugar
3 tbsp fresh lime juice
1 1/2 oz light rum
club soda
In a tall thin glass, crush part of the mint with a fork to coat the inside. Add the sugar and lime juice and stir thoroughly. Top with ice. Add rum and mix. Top off with *chilled* club soda (or seltzer). Add a lime slice and the remaining mint, and serve.
Slurp slurp licking lips now!
Tk- I agree with the gray I have really pretty silver gray if it would all just come in at once instead of patches it would be much better LOL
I am feeling better today, gonna go down to the shop and work on the chest of drawers some more, I really would like to get it done this weekend.
weegot5kiz 07-17-2008 08:22 AM
my first day of my summer vacation I got up and went to look for a job.....
good morning everyone wake up and smile
SandyC 07-17-2008 09:53 AM
Hey all! Sitting here watching Randy Travis on Regis and Kelly singing a sad song about dying. It's really pretty but a little too sad for me.
Anyway, Frank, I pm'd you the story. lol
Vonn, glad your all moved in.
Trish, it went well and I am all young again. lol I am over 90% gray if you can believe that! I am only 42 years old! All the women and men gray early so it is genetic.
Renee, hope your feeling better today. I have never waited that long to update Deers or get an id card. WOW! I was sent home once after driving two hours because Jim wasn't with me and I pitched a fit but it didn't work and I had to come back with him. They are different now and I can go it alone.
Greta, do you know when you'll be moving out of the house?
Everyone else who hasn't posted yet, have a great day and hope your feeling well!
My update isn't special. Just cleaning today and getting ready to see Joel Osteen tomorrow at the United Center. Really looking forward to that because we really like him.
JustWeave 07-17-2008 09:55 AM
Mornin' all. Can't seem to wake up and get moving for some reason. Need to quit watching junk on TV till the wee hours of the morning. Bet that would help. My plans for today are virtually the same as yesterday. Didn't get as much done then as I should have.
A note about DS and the clothing return I need to make. I had him try on everything at the store but didn't check things myself for fit. He is 12 after all and we try on clothes at least twice a year. Silly me thought the kid knew if it was tight or hard to get on it was too small and he needed to go up at least one size.
lol, I put together a fancy-dancy swing-set for my little girl 26 years ago, and I REMEMBER that... I was soooooooooo excited because I had no parts left over when I was done... that means I did it right, right ??
today is my oldest sean michaels bday
now that's cool, that's my nephew's name... Sean Michael... as our brother is named Michael...
so, my sister's son carries that middle name, and also MY son, who is Matthew Michael.
it's a proud and beautiful name, from the Archangel.
mi esposo is two years younger than me, and he's gone completely gray, with a bunch ofl WHITE in there...
luckily, his genetics involve little 'male pattern baldness' so he has a full head of glossy whitish grayish beautiful hair... and he earned every single strand of gray and white, lol !
now me, my hair used to be dishwater blonde, so now it's kind of darkened, with splotchy gray, but real hairdressers are a rarity in the jungle, so I've just let it sorta go to seed...
barb02 07-17-2008 01:58 PM
Lost 1.8 pounds this week for a total of 5.4 pounds on 4 weeks. The weight loss seems slow, but I guess it is better than gaining 5 pounds in one month.:p
I have book group tonight and tomorrow I am going to see Momma Mia with a friend. I saw a live performance of it in Vegas several years ago and loved it. Meryl Streep is in it (the movie), and I think that just about every movie she is in is decent.
Kay -- I am sorry you have to go through the whole bureaucaratic rigamrole again tomorrow. I hope you finally get your passports back and do not have to wait too long.
Sandy -- Have a good time at your concert tomorrow. Who is Joel Osteen? I am so out if it as far as popular music goes. I am stuck somewhere in the 70s.
Tricia -- Good luck with your kitten. Cats really seem to understand how to best annoy people.
Vonn -- Hope you are settling in and not overdoing it.
Hope everyone is doing ok and that the heat/humidity is not doing too much of a number on you.
barb02 07-17-2008 02:01 PM
Just googled Joel Osteen. Now I understand why I have never heard of his music. Geeze!
I am so out if it!
FinLady 07-17-2008 03:19 PM
Hi everyone! Feeling good, but tired from my weekly water aerobics class. LOL, talk about a catch 22. Feels great, but wears ya down at the same time. Managed to get in a few chores as well, which is always good.
Tonight is hubby's much deserved break and poker time to hang with the boys. It's a stress reliever for him, so very willing to let him go have fun.
Just gonna keep hiding in the house from the heat. Just the short trip out was not fun. Never thought I'd sympathize with ice cream melting on a summer's day, LOL.
~~~~~~

Renee, LOL. my hubby likes Jager, but since I don't like licorice - ick. I'm a tequila or rum kind of girl. :D

Sandy, you guys go to some of the best concerts. Have fun!!

Kay, ick. sorry to hear about your day. That would make me nervous too without the passport. Hope you get it back soon.

Barb, have fun going to the movie. Let us know if it's any good. :)

Everyone, have a great evening. sorry if I missed anyone. :grouphug:

SandyC 07-17-2008 04:36 PM

Barb, I was about to write a big reply on who he is. lol Jim and I started watching him on Sunday's when it became difficult for Jim to get out on Sunday mornings so early. We also had a hard time finding a church we clicked with around here so Joel fits our lifestyle. :D We're sitting in nose bleed seats but I am sure the spirit will make it up there too. ;) We are also staying at a hotel closer to downtown Chicago so the driving isn't too much on me or Jim.

Maybe I will get lucky and they will have better seats like at Kid Rock. hahahahaha

Whoops! Update on Jim. The Septra is resistant to the bacteria and the doctor called in Levaquin. Has anyone tried that antibiotic?

I laughed out loud at this statement on the drug: This medication may rarely cause serious nerve problems that may be reversible if identified and treated early. Seek immediate medical attention if you develop any of the following symptoms: pain/numbness/burning/tingling/weakness in any part of the body, changes in how you sense touch/pain/temperature/body position/vibration.

Now, tell me, how in the heck would anyone with ms know if this is happening because of the med? Especially if these are daily symptoms of your ms. lol

barb02 07-17-2008 05:39 PM

Sandy, Cipro says the same thing. Levaquin is one of the three drugs that the FDA put a black box warning on last week regarding tendonitis and rupturing of tendons.

soxmom 07-17-2008 05:54 PM

Sandy, I believe Levaquin is one of the big guns my ds took to get rid
of the mrsa in his knee. I think that it is strong stuff.:(

I hope JIm feels better soon.

:hug:

tkrik 07-17-2008 06:27 PM

Sandy - I just took 10 days of Levaquin for my recent sinus infection and had no trouble with it at all. It kick the bacteria's butt like my usual Z-Pak didn't. I also had to take a 500 mg tablet after my urodynamics study and then the cystoscopy. Again, I had no trouble with it at all and wouldn't hesitate to take it again.

That warning is pretty funny for someone with MS. Yup, I feel those regularly so how would I really know if it was the meds or the MS? LOL.

Barb - The weightloss is perfect! It is not too slow and not too fast. You are doing great. Keep up the good work!!!:hug:

Fin - My short trip today was walking to the mailbox and it about did me in. LOL. I can totally relate to how you feel. Then it takes about an hour to cool down and get back to feeling a little better. :hug:'s to you and I hope you feel better by this evening.

Hi everyone else! Hope you are all doing well.

Have a great night everyone!

SandyC 07-17-2008 07:51 PM

Thanks you guys! Your the best informational people to talk to!

Sox, how did your son do tummy wise? Jim is worried about that but knows it's something that could happen.

Trish, thanks, I hope Jim does just as well on it. He takes sulfar fine so hopefully, fingers crossed.

Barb, thanks. I thought it was one of the drugs they warned about. I guess the outcome out weighs the risks at this point for Jim. Ugh so much to worry over.

Becky21 07-17-2008 08:34 PM

Sandy, I have taken Levaquin and Cipro several times for diviticulitis attacks. They both worked just fine for me with no side effects.:) I didn't have any problems with my tummy or anything.

I've had stomach problems for 25 years starting with bleeding ulcers and then on to colon problems. I have been on stomach meds constantly since then. Every time I stop taking the meds, I get another ulcer so I'm not going to stop anymore.LOL

I hope it works for Jim.:hug::hug:

weegot5kiz 07-18-2008 12:03 AM

I also have taken it Sandy, its a strong med for fighting off infections

hope everyones morning is wonderful

barb your doing much better than I am congrats

tk and fin take care and try to take it easy and get your needed rest

sorry was really busy yesterday,

did a lot around here yesterday too much but got it done , tomorrow same thing got a lot to do with these cabinets, and last part of floor and paint the walls and ceiling in that kitchen, cant wait till its done

NaeNae 07-18-2008 08:03 AM

I took it for my last kidney infection I loved it...didn't make me puke LOL!

Update later......

Vonn07 07-18-2008 09:27 AM

howdy earthlings ... yep, getting my goofy-self back ... still have a ways to go ... everything is OUT from my friend's house .. NOW for the storage unit that has all my quilting goodies and fru-fee stuff ..

going to help with the lunch today .. then I can eat free for volunteering!! otherwise it's $3.50 (suggested) per day!

keeping up with classes ... going to unload the car now ... then lunch ... then laundry .. going to do it at a laundromat - because I have rugs that need washing from the trailer!

hope everyone has a great day ... hugs to all!! :D

p.s. Jenn - enjoying my coffee with ya!!

momXseven 07-18-2008 09:44 AM

My goodness, miss one day here and you get lost. :D

I had a really bad SX day yesterday and still no OK yet. I vented about it in it's on thread here and a little under Stumble Inn.

Barb, Woo Hoo on the weight loss.

Kay, sorry about your day. I hope you get your passport back real soon.

Frank, I'm alway happy when I put something together and there are no left over parts.:D

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend! :grouphug:

Kitty 07-18-2008 10:06 AM

Congrats on the weight loss, Barb!! I think I found everything you lost!! I'll be more than happy to return it to you.....I have GOT to get with the program here and lose some of this extra insulation I have put on.

I'm blaming it on the meds I take.....Neurontin, Baclofen, etc. and the steroids. And also the self medicating methods I use......Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Ice Cream, Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, etc........:o :o :rolleyes:

SandyC 07-18-2008 10:14 AM

Not going to see Joel tonight. Jim isn't feeling 100% so we'll just stay home. We can't get a refund but I am going to call the United Center and tell them to just give our tickets to someone who calls, plus parking. I don't know if they will do that but it's worth a try. It's OK that we're not going because it is in a bad neighborhood and the show doesn't start until 7:30pm.

Unless someone here who is in the area wants them and can pick them up? They are in section 333a plus parking, free to a good home. :-)

PS: My mom was dx'd with MG yesterday. Ugh, what else can happen? I posted a thread in the MG forum.

FinLady 07-18-2008 12:59 PM

Sandy, Sorry to hear about your mom. :hug: Hope the new med helps Jim feel better soon.

~~~~~~~~~~
Just sitting here getting ready to tackle some chores today. Not sure if it's just a metaphor or what I'm really going to have to do to get through them, LOL
Haven't been outside today, so feeling pretty good thus far. Kinda hate this hiding under a rock thing, but learning to deal with it. Now if I paint my rock and get some comfy cushions to hide under it - we'll know I've gone off the deep end. :D
Stay cool and have a great day everyone. :grouphug:
