I've started following the bikini diet loosely - means lots of salads and vegetables, some amount of fruit, a portion of protein, and a portion of carbs.
I substitute and balance the meals through the day, so it doesn't feel a chore.

The portion of carb frequently becomes some kind of a healthy dessert of 170 calories or so - my sweet tooth is legendary.

I can't go out for a walk - I am very sun sensitive (lupus). I also have an inertia level down to somewhere below my toes, and am not always keen to have company around, so gyms are not very good for me.

I've got myself a stationery bike instead and do about 20 K.Ms on it. That takes 46 minutes or so and burns around 450 calories.
I've lost about 6 pounds. Would like to lose about 15 more.

At my age I certainly don't want to be a size 2 anymore. That's how much I weighed before I stared my steroids and ADs and mood stabilisers. 10-12 would do nicely. I am 14-16 now. I want a bit of a cleavage that I never had until I was about forty. I'd be lucky to get there 'though.

Somebody mentioned this before, but bizi, why do you need to lose weight if you look as you do in your avatar? I think you are incredibly attractive.

Time for lunch now - Crab with a light butter garlic sauce. Masses of salad with a honey mustard dressing and a small bit of Hakka noodles.
I'll have to forage around for a bit of sweet for dessert.

Another six months should get me to my goal if I can stick to this routine.
Yipee!

Now of course its a dream.

Mari this sounds like a very good meal plan!:)
Isis your dinner sounds fabulous!
I love to eat and have kind of switched to fat free stuff although I am not on a fat free diet...so that I can eat more food! some of the things that I do "eat" have many calories so they all add up.
like my vitamins have 25 calories in them, french vanilla creamer in my coffee has 100 extra calories because I like it alot! fat free cho milk has 150 for a cup so that is 275 calories for beverages! but I think that I could use the cho milk in my coffee and save the 100 calories from the creamer for real food. that makes sense.
thank you for the compliment.
I am down to the last 5 pounds of my weight loss...which is going to be the hardest to lose.
There is alot of jiggle left that I don't like!
have a great day! good for your bike work out that is great!:)

Mari that all sounds yummy - and very healthy too! :)

Bizi good idea to try using the choco milk in place of the creamer. some of the jiggle might be your body settling to the weight loss... it will go away with time. i think you have done very well... good luck with the last 5 pounds!

i am at a plateau but i don't feel good and trying to restrict myself more is too hard right now. i am just trying to be somewhat careful so i don't gain back what i lost for the umpteenth time.

476 calories, 46 minutes, 21 kilometers.

Dinner - Lamb stew with spinach, yogurt with tomatoes, grated carrots, and laugh if you want - for dessert, 1 teaspoon of blackberry preserve with one teaspoon of crunchy peanut butter.

I am feeling most virtueous. :)

bizi 08-16-2010 04:40 PM

I agree waves to not be too hung up on restricting yourself with your med changes and stuff in general.
I think you are wise to just play it safe so you don't regain...as you know it is so hard to lose a pound and so easy to gain it back.
((((HUGS))))
Isis, exersize wise....great job!!!!
HOW DO YOU ONLY EAT one teaspoon of peanut butter????????
You are amazing!

yes it is soooo hard isn't it... for a long time, i cut this and reduced that, and got no results!!! none! i so want to get back into my clothes again.

i am going to try to get myself out to exercise, in one way or another. mostly to help lower my LDL, but it should help with the depression too. we'll see. maybe i can just keep doing mega-housework (i'm still achey from saturday... sheesh!!!!:o:rolleyes:)
